Taking a date out on a Sunday evening is always a calculated risk, but Mazra handled business. The space is surprisingly large with plenty of indoor tables and a covered outdoor patio, so the vibe is easygoing without feeling crowded. We started by sharing the whole cauliflower drenched in lemon tahini dressing, the smoky baba ghannoush with fresh pita, and a couple of à la carte lamb chops. The cauliflower alone was seasoned like it was fighting for a spot in the starting lineup, and the lamb chops were incredibly juicy. For my main, I got the Double Kebab Plate with chicken and filet mignon, paired with rice, pita, garlic toum, hot sauce, house pickles, the Arabí salad, and French fries. The chicken was tender, but the filet mignon was ridiculously soft, and the garlic toum is legendary. The portion sizes are serious - you're definitely leaving with leftovers. Incredible flavor, great ambiance, and zero complaints. Mazra is easily entering the regular dinner rotation.
This place was SOOO good. You could smell the grilled meat from the parking lot. The food was amazing and every bite was an explosion of flavor. The veggie plate and kebabs were my favorites, and the sides were fresh and flavorful. Portions were generous, and everything tasted like it had been made with care. They also offer complimentary tea which was a nice touch. Parking can be a challenge because the lot is very small, but the food is worth the hassle. I only wish Mazra were closer to where I live.
I ordered a Double Kebab Plate of Chicken & Kofta for takeout. Heard a lot of great reviews about this place and because I was on a mediterranean diet, I had to stop by and try it out while I was in the area. I had order takeout at the window since it was completely packed and filled inside the restaurant. Chicken & Kofta Kebab 4/5 Unfortunately, I only got 50% of what I ordered. Instead of Kofta, they accidentally gave me a saffron mushroom kebab. I was disappointed about it because I looked forward to the kofta. I had already left before I had a chance to open and eat. The chicken was nice and tender and even though I don't like mushroom it was still exceptional. I was angrily eating it lol. Rice was perfect and all the sauces were really good. The flatbread was actually really cold for some reason and not warmed properly. Service 3/5 Staff is friendly but my order was messed up. Ambience 5/5 It's really nice inside and the outside dining is also a great option for a hot day. It's a lively casual atmosphere. I'm definitely coming back because the food is really good and I know what to expect the next time I visit but it was just unfortunate my order was messed up.
Came here on a Friday night with a party of 2 and was told the wait was gonna be 40 mins but realistically only took maybe 20! I absolutely loved this restaurant. There's complimentary tea and the sauces are SO GOOD. All the food was ofc amazing and so flavorful and tasty. We ordered the whole cauliflower and that exceeded my expectations! The roasted lamb and kofta kebabs were also really good. Especially paired with the sauce!! Would definitely come back again and I think I've found my new go to Mediterranean restaurant!
Still simply the best! I ate a street wrap with lamb and it was so tender and juicy. I love the soft and tasty bread and filling. Nothing has changed. It's still as good as it was but now in a beautifully decorated space. Order at the counter and seat yourself. Plenty of seating inside and out. Water and hot tea available. Everything always stocked and clean. I hadn't been to this location since it reopened since I've been satisfying my Mazra craving at the Redwood City location but this place is the best! Not sure why but I feel like the grilled meat is tastier. Forgot to mention that the staff is always so nice and courteous.
I came here on weekend evening for dinner. We ordered various items to try and they were all delicious. We ordered the chicken shawarma plate, lamb chop plate, double kebab plate, and a side of fries. For the plates they come with rice, pita, house pickles and your choice of two sides. Since we had three entrees, we tried a variety of sides they had available. For sides we got: hummus, babaganoush, muhammara, roasted red beet dip, tabbouleh salad and arabi salad. All the sides were delicious. For the plates, the chicken shawarma plate came with a large portion of chicken that was thinly sliced. Very good flavor and went nicely with their garlic toum. The lamb chop was a bit overcooked for us but had a very nice flavor. For the kebab plate, we got the lamb kebab and the kofta kebab, both were fine but the lamb was overcooked. Overall, this restaurant has nice decor, and will definitely be back again.
10/10 experience - such a lovely, vibrant and casual spot. I love how beautifully designed the restaurant is. It is spacious with great atmosphere, and friendly staff. Great for small gatherings, dates and more. Also, I super love the self serve stations for hot tea, water, and additional items. Easy to order food with our phone using the QR code on the table sign, and they have physical menus when they seat you. My friend and I just shared everything and we still had a ton to take home: - 1 WHOLE CAULIFLOWER $14.00 - 1 CHICKEN SHAWARMA PLATE $22.00 W/ Hummus Dip & Baba Ganoush Dip - 1 FRENCH FRIES $6.00 Small - 1 RASPBERRY LEMONADE $6.00 - 1 MELON PINEAPPLE REFRESHER $6.00 Everything was fresh, flavorful and more. Appreciate that they leave the bottled sauces at the tables now - total game changer and very generous to do that. Highly recommend!
Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, but can be a little wait if it gets busy. You can go up to order or order on the QR code, you also grab your own plates , utensils, and water. Paying is also simple in that you can pay on the phone that you ordered from. Everything was delicious and very reasonably priced, especially for the quality and amount of food you get. Love all the hummus and different dips you get, highly recommend getting lots of different ones if you are with friends so you can all try as many different ones as possible. We got the whole cauliflower to share, it was roasted well with lots of seasoning and cheese, it was flavorful and heavy and well worth the calories. I got the double kebab plate with shrimp and ground kofta. Both kebabs were seasoned wonderfully and paired nicely with the sides and rice.
This place is amazing!! Possibly some of the best Mediterranean food I've ever had. Our group loved everything that we had. - whole cauliflower: 10/10, AMAZING. Tender, but still snappy with ana amazing tahini sauce - fried olives: so unique, the fried batter brings down the pickled flavor of the olives so it's easy to eat - kabob plates: super flavorful kabobs, our favorite was the kofta - rotisserie chicken: flavorful and juicy! - all the sides we got were really good, my favorite was the beet dip and the rice is super flavorful Everything is self serve here - you order through a QR code and grab your own water/hot tea and togo containers. The people who work here are super friendly and will come by often to check up on you too. Overall, loved it!
Was able to walk in during lunch hours easily. Service was extremely quick. Nice ambiance with indoor and covered outdoor seating for a nice sunny day looking out into the busy traffic goers on/off freeway. Definitely on the pricier side with single-sized portions, no more no less. Ordered the Chicken Shawarma plate with a side of potatoes and tziki from the QR code at each table. Wish I tried the dolma sides. Chicken was heavily seasoned, leaning a bit too salty for my taste, but overall a classic item from the menu done well. I have long heard tell of the legendary Mazra and finally managed to venture down and give them a try last weekend. Mazra offers up Mediterranean foods in a welcoming and beautiful restaurant that has both indoor and outdoor seating. Upon arrival, you can quickly take advantage of their free tea offering. It doesn't seem like they do reservations, so be prepared for a slight wait if you show during peak hours. Once seated, you are prompted to order by QR code where you can glance at the menu and make your choices. I ended up going with the two meat plate (chicken and lamb). These plates come with rice and two sides. I ended up going with two dips to accompany my rice and pita. The flavor of the lamb and chicken were both on point. The meat was fresh and moist (I was definitely craving more by the time I was finished). I washed everything down with a tasty banana/oat milk/ date shake that was creamy and satisfying. My friends ordered the fried halloumi cheese for the table as well. The cheese was crispy, salty, and delicious. It's also served with a small side of honey which makes for a nice drizzle. I also ordered a side of falafel for the table which was unfortunately the most disappointing offering (too dry). Otherwise, all the food was excellent! Mazra gets top marks for food quality, vibes, and beauty of location. I really liked the internal decor and paintings at their San Bruno location. Check them out if you're ever in the area!
This review is for their takeout. It was easy to order online and the food was ready on time. Pickup up was easy and fast since they have a dedicated pickup window. The chicken shawarma was flavorful and you get to pick two different sides. I enjoyed the muhammara and beet dip. I also liked the sauces it came with. Great meal, I would definitely come back .
A friend recommended this place after a good experience at their Redwood City location, so we decided to try this one on a Wednesday. The restaurant is spacious with both indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor patio has plenty of shaded tables, making it a comfortable spot to dine. Ordering is done through a QR code, and food is brought to the table. They also offer self-service cold water and hot tea stations inside and outside, which is a nice touch. Overall, the atmosphere is relaxed and casual. We ordered the Double Kebab Plate with filet mignon and lamb kebab (filet mignon add $2), along with French fries and garlic potatoes. We also tried the Falafel Mezza Sampler, which came with six falafel, six dips (hummus, tzatziki, baba ghanoush, roasted beet, muhammara, and cucumber yogurt), and three pita breads. Unfortunately, the food was disappointing. Both the filet mignon and lamb kebab were dry and overcooked, and the portion of meat was quite small for the price. The rice was overly soft and lacked texture, as if it had absorbed too much water or been sitting for a while. We only took a small bite before leaving the rest untouched. The falafel was also overcooked and dry, and the size was small compared with another place. The highlight of the meal was the dips, especially the muhammara and cucumber yogurt, which were flavorful, while the rest were just okay. The space itself is clean, spacious, and pleasant, but the food did not live up to expectations. I really wanted to like it, but the quality was inconsistent and underwhelming for the price. Overall: Great ambiance and convenient ordering system, but the food was dry, overcooked, and not worth the price.

Perfection. You can't fault anything. I've been waiting for them to reopen and it was definitely worth the wait! The new remodel is stunning - it felt like Scottsdale vibes I tried the Halloumi Cheese Roll appetizer and loved. My go to order is the Chicken Shawarma Plate that comes with your choice of two sides and pita bread. The chicken is perfectly seasoned and grilled. The delightful smell of the grill that you smell when you are walking in? You can actually taste it in the meat!! The rice is amazing and I can never get enough of the garlic toum and hot sauce that it comes with. The problem is picking the sides! I love the Arabic salad, tabbouleh, which both add such a refreshing taste to the plate but I also love the hummus for the pita that it comes with and the tzatziki is a must. The fries are also so crispy and good!! The price is so decent for the amount you get - one plate usually equals 2-3 meals for me. Their system is genius. You can order through a QR code when you get to your table and they have everything you need on the side (water, complimentary tea, utensils and take-out supplies) but they also have servers walking around checking in and taking your plates so it doesn't feel like a completely self-serve experience. I really like the cleanliness and atmosphere of the restaurant. It's definitely a nicer looking establishment. I came on a Wednesday night around 7 pm and there was about a 30 minute wait for a table of two. They provide warm tea while you wait, which is nice because it's usually cold and windy in San Bruno. You place your order with a QR code and they have several areas where you can get water and utensils yourself. It's a bit hard to flag someone down but not impossible. The food was good and I'd come back. read more

San Bruno has sorely needed a place like this! Free hot spiced tea while you wait, coupled with all the Mediterranean options you can handle! Very veggie friendly and delicious. Make sure to try out their signature drinks as well! Great for friend dinners, corporate events, or date night. read more

What a great reopening worth waiting for. There are two parking lots. One by San Bruno Av at the front of the building, and a second parking lot in the back of the building. There's an hostess by the front entrance who will lead you to an available table. The exterior & interior are both very welcoming now. There are two ways to order - either up at the counter or via the QR code. Our friends placed it up front. We placed it using the QR. Their food came first. Then ours. We ordered- * hubby not very hungry. He got the chicken wings. Just enough to satisfy his appetite. * I got the chicken shawarma. My two sides - the roasted beet dip and fries. Comes with pita bread. A very generous meal. * hubby got the banana date shake. That was very good. Thick. Used a boba straw to slurp it. We stayed two hours catching up having arrived at 11:30am Thursday. Dirty dishes cleared off as needed. There are two beverage stations where you can fetch water and hot tea. Now I don't need to travel down to Redwood City for great Mediterranean food. read more

Mazra has flawless food! The chicken breast kebab was so tender and delicious. The oyster mushrooms kebab was flavored perfectly. The hummus had a great texture, but could have used a little more olive oil on top. Beautiful pita. The filo wrapped halloumi with herbs was really tasty and had great texture. The ambiance is really cute and comfortable. Everything looks like you're seating in the garden, even when you're indoors. The service at Mazra needs some help, we waited about 15 minutes for a table. Once seated we ordered through an app, and waited another 20+ minutes for just a drink. The food took even longer to arrive. It took over an hour to resolve a missing dish, they were very short on waiters but had a lot of bussers. I am hoping this bad service was because it was opening weekend and they were extra busy. read more

We tried Mazra for the first time after hearing so many good things, and honestly the first attempt didn't even work out. The electricity went out while we were ordering, so we had to leave without getting anything. We ended up coming back the next day because we really wanted to try it. I'm glad we did because the dips were so good--definitely the best part. Super fresh, really flavorful, exactly what I was hoping for. The drink we got was really good too. We also got the grilled veg bowl with oyster mushrooms, rice, falafel, and cauliflower. It was fine, but I feel like it could've used a little more flavor. It just didn't stand out as much as the dips. The restaurant itself was very cute but very busy. I would come back, but I wouldn't order that bowl again. I'd stick to the dips and try something else next time. read more

Mazra never lets me down. First time visiting since the renovation and the place is a beauty. The food is always delicious here! Got the lamb chop plate which comes with a bed of rice along with 2 sides of your choice. For my sides, I got the garlic potatoes and Arabic salad. The garlic potatoes were garlicky in the best way possible and the Arabic salad was refreshing. The lamb chops were nice and tender. Had the raspberry lemonade and it was so refreshing, the mint sprig was a nice touch. Definitely one of my fav Mediterranean food spots in the bay area! read more
Mazra continues to be a favorite for a reason! We ordered the Double Kebab Plate and the Beef Shawarma Plate, and the quality was top-notch. Every meat was packed with flavor and perfectly cooked. For our sides, we ordered the hummus, baba ghannoush, olives, and the roasted beet dip (they used to have the muhammara dip which I think was the best but they took it off the menu) . The dips are light and fresh, and pairing the plates with their signature butter garlic and chili sauces is a must! To wash it all down, the melon and pineapple drink was incredibly refreshing and clearly made with fresh fruit. Tip: It's a very popular spot, so even with the large seating area, be prepared for a bit of a wait. It is absolutely worth it! read more
I recently checked out Mazra after they reopened, and overall it was a good experience. When we arrived, we were quoted about a 40-minute wait for a table of 5, but surprisingly we were seated in just 15 minutes. You can add your name to the waitlist when you get there, which was super easy. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, which is a nice option depending on your vibe. A few things to know: water and tea are self-serve in the back, and ordering/payment is done through a QR code at the table. We initially had trouble placing our order, but realized it was due to poor cell service inside. They do offer free WiFi though. I definitely recommend connecting right away to avoid any hassle. Even though the place was pretty busy, all our food came out at the same time, which was impressive. We ordered the whole cauliflower and the falafel mezza sampler for the table, both were really delicious. The mint lemonade was super refreshing, and the banana date shake was pretty good too. Man, what a journey! I found about Mazra 5 years ago, Specifically their first location, from a friend who's mother knew the owner. Fresh out of Highschool, we would get the the Sharma and fries and the rest was history. 5 years later, I've put my whole family and all of my friends on to this place and they love it, and I'm still going. This time, I finally got the Kebab platter, I usually get the roasted chicken but we wanted to switch it up. The Lamb kebabs specifically won a place in my heart, tender, flavorful, and juicy. The Falafel Mezza Platter comes with all these dips such as Hummus, Tzatiki, Muhammara, Roasted Beet dip, and a refreshing Roasted Beet dip. All of which looks so pretty with a flavor to match The restaurant looks beautiful with the middle eastern and Mediterranean themes. The service is always good with the folks at mazra always making sure we get what we need. The pricing over here is amazing as all the food is sharable with perfect portioning. I really feel like me and my family can bond and joke around when eating the food as if the food style promotes that kind of engagement. Parking is a little bit harder over here just because it is in a busier area but not too much of a problem and I will always find a way for mazra. A little bit chaotic at 7pm on a Sunday, there are four different lines: one to order take out, one to pick up takeout, one to get in the waitlist, and one for once you have a spot (note that this line doesn't move in order, so be assertive if you for a text about your seat, because there might be folks standing there in line because they are expecting to get their text soon!!). The hosts were very kind, accommodating, and friendly! Once you are seated, you either order with a cashier or order on your phone using the QR code. We each got a street wrap, the chicken kebab and the falafel wrap (4.5/5 stars overall, but 5 star falafel and 5 star hummus). read more
We're so happy that Mazra is finally open again! We waited what felt like forever; honestly, maybe a year or two for them to reopen, and it was definitely worth it. When we arrived on a Saturday evening, the place was packed, with lots of people waiting outside to be seated. Despite that, the wait time for our party of three was only about 30 minutes, which wasn't bad at all considering how busy it was. The restaurant is newly renovated, looks absolutely beautiful inside, fresh, modern, and very welcoming. For dinner, my husband got the lamb chops, and I got the chicken and beef kebab plate to share with my son. All were very tender and flavorful, just as delicious as we remembered, if not even better this time around. Even my son loved it! The prices are fair for the portion sizes and quality of the food. Parking is a bit limited with a few spaces in the front and street parking. Customer service was great, friendly and fast. They also have outdoor seating, which is a great option. Marza finally reopened, and while I was excited to be back, the experience was a bit mixed. Parking is still rough, but we got lucky and didn't have to wait for a table. The setup is mostly self service, so you grab your own water, complimentary cinnamon tea, small plates, and to go boxes. That part is fine, but the actual service felt pretty disorganized. Food came out at different times, some dishes were wrong or went to the wrong people, and my friend waited a long time for her pita bread. I had to flag down a couple of staff just to get it. Overall, there wasn't much attention to detail or customer care. The food itself was good though. Quality and portions were both solid, which is what Marza is known for. I'd come back for the food, but given how the service was on my first dine in experience, I'd probably just order takeout next time. read more
An amazing, modern yet festive, warm and very vibrant mediterranean and middle eastern restaurant. Been waiting to come back ever since they've been closed for renovations, glad to see they're back! Food is still amazing as ever. The lamb shank and steak shawarma plates were absolute must orders as the mains! Juicy, tender, and packed with flavor with every bite. I wish they gave a bit more of the red and garlic sauce, the small containers are just never enough. Portions are fair, as you get a lot of food with every order, especially because they come with 2 sides and pita bread, but again, just a bit more sauce would be better. The beef arayes were great as starters! Grilled pita with stuffed minced beef was amazing especially paired with the tzaziki sauce, oily but super refreshing thanks to the sauce. Service was okay, I'm eating from 5 star to 4 star because in the beginning they did mess up at the host station, i understand that it's busy and they have a line with a waitlist of 40+ people, but they were constantly writing down the wrong number of guests for everyone who showed up, whether it was my group that was supposed to be 3 but got written down as 2 or other groups that were for 4-5 but got written down as 2. I think this caused a bottleneck on the waitlist and pushing back wait times as they were trying to fix everyone's tabling. Overall, food is amazing but expect a wait especially on the weekends due to popularity. Would still definitely come again, as the food is great! read more
It's been two years since our last visit, and the place has been beautifully renovated. The interior feels fresh, modern, and thoughtfully designed We ordered the lamb chops plate, which comes with basmati rice and two sides. Absolutely superb. The lamb chops were flavorful and perfectly cooked, with four generous pieces. The potatoes were crispy We also tried the lamb chops à la carte, but interestingly, the plate version was much better--juicier and not dry like the standalone order. For dessert, the pistachio milk cake was delicious, though a bit pricey at $8 for a small slice. Nice touch: they offer self-service spiced house tea, which adds to the overall experience. Overall, a very good dining experience. Slightly on the higher price side, but still worth coming back for. read more
Boys are back in town. Welcome back, and after visiting the remodel, it was worth the wait. From the front-to-back area to the indoor and outdoor spaces, you get very positive and delicious vibes. Gia is kind and friendly, and we loved the new ordering system. No more long lines when ordering your food. I remembered long discussions on the side among the family and friends. Lol Everything looks good on the menu, except I miss my Brussels sprouts appetizer. But we tried fried olives with Harissa sauce, omg so so good. Chicken shawarma, combo kabobs, and roasted chicken; everything was served fresh and warm. Our server was very efficient, but actually, everyone around was kind enough to stop by and help us. I mean, everyone who was not even serving our table was awesome. Where did you find these angel workers? Drinks were good, and the tea had a strong cinnamon flavor but was not bad. We did miss seeing Saif and Jordan, but everyone was so kind, so it was ok. Love to see you all next time. Let's talk about Parking. That doesn't change, and I get it. Even though we went at 4pm for dinner, there was no parking. I found a parking space in the back, where I used to park when this was Green Valley Market. So many memories with this location. Yummy Mediterranean food! They have two locations: another in Redwood city. My friend and I came around 1pm on a Sunday and got seated immediately in the patio. We got the Steak Shawarma Wrap, Chicken Shawarma Wrap, and the Lamb Kabob. The wraps were yummy and had a thin crispy wrap. We loved the sauces and the steak/chicken were juicy. The lamb was a bit overcooked and harder to chew. I would come back to try their other items. This spot is a DIY place with water, utensil, and takeout boxes in the end of the patio for you to grab. You also order with the QR code that they put at the table or with the cashier at the front of the restaurant. read more

Why did I not try this place sooner? I always pass by this place but never thought to give it a try. I was getting lunch with a friend on a Friday and he suggested this place. The restaurant was pretty packed for a Friday afternoon! There was even a little line out the door. We ordered a bunch of random things and all of it tasted great! Finally got to try this place!!! I knew this place was going to be 10/10 just by the looks of it. Went around 4-5pm, thankfully small line, waited about 30mins then got a seat inside. Once seated, you have the option to order through QR code or go up to the cashier. Then there's a self serving station for water, tea, utensils. Service was 10/10, all staff. Vibe of the place feels cozy and homey. Host was kind, didn't get his name but I heard he was a new staff! Fatih, one of the staff, made us feel very welcome since it was our first time here! Had some good laughs. Fatih introduced us to their baklava with three flavors. So good with the hot tea. As for the food, we got the veggie bowl, sampler, drinks, falafel, double plates of shrimp, another with chicken and lamb. Everything was soooo good. Fresh and flavorful. Got the melon/pineapple, mint lemonade, and fanta. All were refreshing. Will definitely be back here again! :) read more
I absolutely love Mazra! Halloumi is my favorite, so the halloumi wrap is a must for me. You can add on fries, which are delicious, and garlic sauce is also available as an add-on (it comes standard with the plates). The plates are a ton of food (basically two meals) so they're probably the best value on the menu. Both the wraps and plates come with a spicy red sauce, which is equally delicious. The service is incredibly fast too. You can order via QR code or walk up to place your order in person. They also have a self-serve station for packing your food and grabbing complimentary tea! They're halal, so no alcohol is served, but you're welcome to bring your own beer or wine. There's no corkage fee, which is rare and such a nice benefit. I am so happy Mazra is back open in San Bruno! When we arrived, we checked in with the host and there was a wait time of about 50 minutes around 6:45pm on a Wednesday. They sent us a text message when our table was ready, which was super helpful. Once we sat down, we ordered through a QR code and the food actually came out pretty quickly. The place felt lively when we walked in and the refreshed space looks great. The vibes were definitely vibing and you could tell everyone was having a great time. For our meal, we ordered the chicken shawarma plate, salmon plate, cauliflower, crispy halloumi cheese, and falafel. For sides, we got the Arabic salad, tzatziki, baba ghanoush, and French fries. Honestly, everything was good!!! Every dish was packed with flavor. If you're looking for delicious Mediterranean food in the Bay Area, this spot is definitely worth checking out! read more

I think this might be the best Mediterranean spot in the Bay The food and vibe are amazing--perfect for hanging out with family or just catching up with friends. We ordered the chicken, lamb, and sea bass, and everything was cooked to perfection. The sea bass was my absolute favorite--even though I'm usually not big on fish. It was grilled so well, super fresh, and no fishy smell at all Desserts were decent, just a bit too sweet for my taste--but still worth trying. Mazra in San Bruno recently completed a remodel and the space feels completely different from what longtime locals might remember. Back when this spot was Green Valley Market, Mazra was tucked away in the back of the store. Before the renovation, ordering had already been moved to the front through a window where you placed your order, then you add your name to a waitlist to dine-in. It somewhat worked, but it felt like a lot of steps just to get food. The remodel took over two years to complete and it seems the scope expanded quite a bit along the way. What likely began as a plan to renovate the kitchen and bring the grills indoors turned into a full remodeling. The space now has a completely brand new kitchen, dining room, patio, restrooms, furniture, and improvements to the parking areas. Takeout ordering and the host stand for dine-in are now properly positioned at the front, making the flow much smoother. The layout also mirrors their Redwood City location with a proper indoor kitchen and ventilation. From what I understand, the grill had been moved around the property multiple times in the past after neighbors complained about the smoke, so it's nice to see the owners investing in a long-term solution. The remodel looks clean, modern, and honestly the kind of setup I wish they had years ago. The menu remains the same. I ordered my usual Double Kabab Plate with lamb and chicken, along with Arabic salad and fries. The meats were still good, but the sides felt a bit off during this visit. The fries tasted slightly stale and the Arabic salad was very salty. The sides seemed like they may have been sitting out. Several sides were also unavailable when I ordered around 8pm. I also noticed the portions seem smaller than before, something I've also seen at their Redwood City location. The double plate now comes with about half a skewer, roughly four pieces of each meat. The grilled moist quality from the brine is still there, but the reduced portion size is noticeable. It's hard not to reminisce about the earlier days before Mazra went viral around the Bay Area. Back in 2020 there was no line, plenty of space to dine in, and parking was much easier. These days the small front and back lots still fill up quickly, so skipping the on-site parking and using street parking in the residential area is often the easiest option. It's great to see how far the place has come. The owners' son Jordan was there running the restaurant during my visit, and it's impressive seeing how they helped turn a struggling market into a restaurant that's now widely praised across the Bay Area and expand to a second location. Overall, the remodel is a big improvement and the restaurant looks fantastic. If they can tighten up the consistency of the sides, revisit the portion sizes, and perhaps start making pita bread in-house, it would easily bring the experience back up to where it used to be for me. read more
Welcome back, Habibi! Consistency has always been where Mazra shines, and this latest visit was no different. I've tried most of the meats on the menu, but this time opted for the grilled lamb chops. I also decided to give their "street fries" a whirl. The lamb chops were tender and fresh, although I wish they were cooked ever so slightly less through (or give the option to specify temp when ordering through their QR system). They are pricey at $43. The street fries were a highlight; I'm already a fan of their chicken shawarma, but the added tzatziki really adds a cohesion that complements their hot sauce & toom wonderfully. $16. The only reason they are not 5 stars this time around is the price...unfortunately everything has gone up in recent years, but this feels *just a touch* over what I'd consider "good" value; though I understand they use fresh ingredients, cook everything fresh, etc. They're still worth visiting if you're craving excellent Mediterranean cuisine...perhaps just space out your visits a bit to go easy on the wallet! read more
So glad they have reopened! After a long day at work, I took a chance on dropping by Mazra for dinner. It was busy with a lot of people waiting for an inside table or take out. Luckily it was a bit cold and breezy and I was bundled up so outside seating was immediately available. It's been a while so I went straight for the lamb shank. It was so delicious and tender. I got the roasted vegetables and hummus as my sides which were so good. The table next to me also ordered the lamb shank and were able to polish it off. I, on the other hand, got full quickly from the huge portion and took most of mine home. I am looking forward to having it for lunch tomorrow! Service has its usual small kinks to work out which is to be expected, and everyone is so friendly. I did like the QR ordering, and I should have ordered a banana date shake to go when I was done. Parking is challenging so be prepared or take a Lyft/Waymo. I'm looking forward to more visits with family and friends. read more

Excellent service and very dog-friendly! We came here for a doggy playdate and absolutely loved the atmosphere. The space is beautiful, with plants everywhere, and it's clean and self-serve, which made the experience easy and comfortable. We shared a family meal, and everything was delicious. The chicken was incredibly tender and flavorful, and the garlic dip was my absolute favorite. Even the rice was surprisingly good. The portions were huge, we ended up taking most of our food home because there was just so much of it. The only downside is that parking can be a bit difficult to find, so keep that in mind before visiting. Overall, a great spot with excellent food, generous portions, and a welcoming environment for both people and pups! read more
