"Muy Bad" - is that what MB stands for? That's what someone in our group quipped after we had our expensive, sub-par dinner. This is yet another seafood restaurant that wants to be like Lure in Westlake or Camarillo, but just can't measure up. TRADITIONAL CALAMARI = bland and had many soggy, limp bits DIRTY CRAB MAC 'N' CHEESE = not much crab, pasta was undercooked, but pork belly topping was crispy and decadent JUMBO LUMP CRAB CAKES = a bit too much filler, saw some crab shreds, but not any lumps as the the term "jumbo lump" led me to believe FISH & CHIPS = french fries were not good, fish were in the shape of nuggets?? CEDAR PLANK SALMON & PRAWNS = pretty dish to look at, but salmon was overcooked and dry. Shrimp was also so overcooked and dry that I had to saw through them with my knife. Best part of the dish was the bacon which wrapped around the shrimp PAN SEARED HALIBUT = parmesan crusted with au gratin potatoes, spinach, and asparagus = HAD THIS SENT BACK!! The entire dish was so oily that every component tasted like it was slicked in grease. Consistent theme here -- this fish was also overcooked and dry. CALIFORNIA COLADA COCKTAIL = rum, lime, coconut water, pineapple juice = ok, this was actually quite tasty and refreshing, the best part of the whole meal. Service was friendly, but slow. Took 30 minutes to get drinks, 75 minutes for food. The only positives were (1) the nice interior decor and (2) tasty cocktails. Won't ever be back for the food though. This is a seafood joint but still, it's absolutely not friendly to vegetarian or vegans. They still actively use plastic straws which is so annoying. Great service. Very sweet and attentive. BUT... the happy hour food that we used to love has gone waaaaaay down hill. Most of the choices are fried and taste/feel like the oil is way too old. Walked in with party of 5. Waited only seconds and were seated at great location between the bar and dining area. The waitress was very thorough. Food was good, no complaints. Manager Jose was very hands on, he greeted us to make sure all is okay. Great guy! One minor issue tho.... there was a delay in delivering food for one person, which was awkward because we didn't want to eat without him (hence the 4 stars). Food was good, but service was terrible. Samantha didn't check in on us and we were in need of stuff in between her walk bys. We then asked for 2 desserts and a desert for my dads birthday. We waited 20 mins and we got nothing we then asked for our bill and they added the desserts we never got. When we told the waitress she said oh you haven't gotten it yet. As if she even bothered to check to see if we did. We asked for it to be removed because we had waited too long we no longer wanted it. She only removed 1 of the desserts. It was our anniversary but we had two kids, one with grandma and the 7month old baby with us. So we decided to go somewhere local quick and celebrate. We were greeted by our waiter, Kevin. The food and service was amazing! I had the Snapper with Shrimp. My wife had the Chilean Sea Bass. The fish was prepared perfectly! Our server Lucas was prompt, attentive and friendly. It is hot outside and he was at our table with water and glasses in hand as soon as we sat down. The food runner was quick. Our food came out hot. He made a funny joke while pouring butter over the seabass. The manager, Jose came by to talk to us. You can tell he cared. Not your typical manager stop by that just points and says "you good". We took my mom out for an early Mother's Day on Monday May 3, 2021. Our server was awesome! Shioban did everything right and gave us great service (ask for her). The company on the other hand failed. Upon receiving our bill (which was substantial, we ordered appetizers, entrees, cocktails, and dessert, I noticed a 3.5% "surcharge" added to the end of the bill. This was explained to me rather poorly based on some company furnished script, in a nut shell they are charging you a "tax" on your sales tax (surcharge added to the total amount to be paid after tax is applied) to make up for their poor financial planning and budgetary shortfall in regards to the increase in minimum wage (every company I worked for accrued this throughout the prior year before the increase took effect). This was deceitful and after I strongly objected the manager did remove it from my bill. I would have been willing to pay more for my food (the surcharge would have increased our items ordered by less than .50C each) than have them "sneak" this in on my bill. Be aware if you dine there, look at your bill. read more

So went sat dec 28th. Prices a little high, ordered the chicken breast and golden shrimp. The chicken breast was about 1/4 thick ( the thinest I have ever seen) needless to say it was really really dry. The ( home baked bread) was totally reheated and stale. The trout my wife got was so thin you coildnt separate from the skin to eat. Pretty much done with this place. read more

While restaurant smelled like raw fish. Usually a sign of old fish if the filets smell fishy but we went in anyway. Ordered fresh pan seared Halibut because I never had it before. It was floating in oil and butter. The entire plate was ruined. I ate the fish which was okay but everything else was floating in oil. Not edible. Had to ask for water several times since they give you tiny water glasses and are not good at refilling them. The bread was really good. Fresh sour dough loaves. The food is fantastic, the drinks are great, and the outdoor dining environment all come together to make this our favorite dining spot in Simi.
