This is by far the worst location I have ever been too. The custromer service was depolarable. All of the employees were just standing around doing nothing and took forever to come to the counter and take my order. They then claimed that what I asked for wasn't on the menu anymore, which is no exuse for that attitude.They completely forgot to give me my drink even after showing them my receipt and gave me my order to go after I had clearly stated it was for there. This place was amazing! It was 4pm and I still haven't ate lunch yet so I drove by here and decided to try it. Definitely glad I did! I ordered the roast beef with cheddar with horseradish sauce and onions. The 1st bite was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. . . . the bread was perfect, the meat was tasty the only thing I wanted was more horseradish sauce hehe. I also had the pleasure of having their potato salad and sweet tea. I'm usually pretty picky with my potato salad but this place passed the test. Just moved to the area and was very excited to get lunch from a familiar place. Little did I know that it would end up taking up a good amount of time and not even coming out correctly. My roommate and I both ordered online and came in at the suggested time it offered us however we still waiting there for another 10 min just waiting to get helped (in the Togo line). When we arrived home we discover that both of our orders were missing essential parts of our food such as bacon and tomatoes on the club and pickles (which the online order specifically asked if we wanted) and even butter for a spud. Convenient location, decent quality food and portions but way overpriced. I think the tea gets rave reviews because it's brewed more strongly than a lot of other places so it holds up against a glassful of ice. This location has much less of a "homey" feel than the McKinney one does which seems to make paying $10 for a chicken salad sandwich and a cup of soup more annoying. read more

We had bought two gallons of sweet tea here. We had yelped about this place since we were craving for sweet tea. The sweet tea is EXCELLENT here. The flavor and taste is on the spot, however there is a tad bit too much sugar on their sweet tea. Overall they have my vote for the best sweet tea in the area. read more

Every time I come here the service is outstanding. Today I ate in with my mom and sister but wanted to order something to go for my husband. However when I was ready to make my to go order there was a long line. I'm not sure how to categorize the food served at this restaurant. It has Mexican sandwiches, barbecue, baked potatoes, salad and a random mix of all sorts of dishes. In the end, it doesn't seem to do many of them all that well. The chicken has a rubbery texture. The fruit was somewhat sad looking. I'm not entirely sure how a pickle goes with a Spicy Southwest Chicken Griller. There was absolutely nothing spicy about it. Been to a few different mccalisters and there a pros and cons to each one. This particular restaurant has it's ups and downs. The food is just your plain typical deli, no dishes are just out of this world. Very bland. The lines at times can be ridiculously long. The employees are always very generous and courteous. First time here and the cashier was pushy. I ordered an over priced wrap with a drink. Instead of asking what size she gave me the largest one. I asked for a lid which were behind her, she told me to get one from the other side of the restaurant. I'm really disappointed in McAlister's lately - they have really started a downward trend. I've eaten at the West Plano, East Plano and Southlake locations in the past 3 weeks and have had substandard lunches each time. The portions have been greatly reduced, the chips that come with the sandwiches are usually nothing but crumbs and the soups are not even lukewarm. Today at the West Plano location, my club sandwich was very dry, the bread, although toasted, tasted stale. The tomatoes on the sandwich were green (not even near ripe!), nothing on the sandwich. Ordered grilled chicken salad today and after third bite, a bug crawled out of the salad. When the manager finally came over, he indicated that it was "one of those guys that hides in the lettuce." Yeah, I would rather not have that justification for a BUG being in my salad. I was offered a "sandwich or something" as a replacement. Very RUDE MANAGER (white lady with glasses). On Monday I went for lunch order chicken & dumplin. Waited about 20 mins of my 30 min lunch for this so called manager with no people skills to advise me that they do not sell chicken and dumplin on Monday. I've made a huge mistake. I just almost choked to death on the muffaletta I ordered from this place. The bread was overcooked and hard, which would have been helped by a nice tapenade soaking into it. Unfortunately I got about one tablespoon of tapenade hidden somewhere in the middle of this dry, dusty monstrosity. I understand I'm not going to get an amazing and authentic muffaletta in Plano, but for Christ's sakes I was at least hoping for one that wasn't actively trying to murder me. I am hesitant to call something a "secret menu" if it is on your website with the title "secret menu." But I digress... One of the items listed is a beef, peppers and onions sandwich. The peppers are banana peppers, the onions are caramelized and it has provolone cheese. I asked for the sandwich by title, and the woman taking the order looked at me without a clue. I said that it was on the website as a secret menu item. No more questions about the sandwich. She asked what side I wanted. I asked if I could get sauerkraut as a side. Again, clueless. She said she could give me a side of sauerkraut but asked again what I would like for my side. I tried to explain that I wanted to substitute sauerkraut for my side, but it wasn't helping. Finally I just said coleslaw. Water with lemon and I was seated. The sandwich came out with bell peppers, raw onions and no cheese along with sides of both kraut and slaw. All was edible enough and I needed to get back to work. Just a clue for the person putting the schedule together. Some folks who consider English a second language do a better job at it than others. I had the McAlister's club and it was delicious. Their iced tea is very good and the sandwich was more than I could eat.

I go to this location 2-3 times a week. The staff is great, they move the line along quickly, and the food is good. They care about customer service. Last week I had an issue with my salad. I put in survey and before an hour had passed the manager had called me to apologize and provide me with a solution. I was extremely impressed by the concern the manager showed and the extent he was willing to go to make sure that I was satisfied. I never have received such a response from any other company like this!!! read more
