[TLDR: Relaxed counter-service, upscale deli-style food, smaller portion sizes, homey atmosphere.] McAlister's used to be my one of my favorite spots to eat at when I'm in town to see family. Over the years they've slowly introduced new dishes while also closing other locations, and I've noticed a slow but steady decline in the quality of their food. The portion sizes are sometimes inconsistent and usually pretty small, and the presentation (while certainly not what you're paying for) has fallen to the wayside a bit. With that said, everything usually tastes pretty fresh and their sweet teas have never disappointed. Most of their staff have been friendly during my many visits, and I don't think I've ever waited more than 10-15 minutes for my food, even during a rush. I like that this location also offers a drive-thru pickup option, which was especially convenient during the height of the pandemic. Plenty of parking, lots of seating (including a patio), and a self-serve drink station make for an easy, convenient meal at any time of day. read more

Really slow service. We asked the workers if our order was ready and she said no it's not on the screen. We sat for over twenty minutes until we realized that our food was set on a shelf on the side and nobody told us. Additionally, once we finally got our food they did not put ANY hot nacho cheese or meat on my husband's ultimate nachos. They literally just put dry chips and a side of cold shredded cheese in a cup. It's almost unbelievable how awful it looks lol. We saw four workers walking around in back dragging their feet making the food literally as slow as possible... they obviously didn't care about making anyone wait, never seen workers move so slow. My supervisor purchased lunch for my team. Id never had McAlisters before so I was excited to try. I ordered the Memphian. It was SO GOOD! I'd definitely get it again! We discovered when the order was dropped off they forgot parts of our order. We called to alert them and they sent a driver with the missing items and wrote an apology note and included cookies. I was looking forward to a good sandwich and recently discovered that there's a McAllisters close to my work. unfortunately they pack the pickle slice in the sandwich wrapper next to the bread. it leaks and makes your sandwich bread all mushy. I called. they did refund it. but didn't seem interested in the feedback that their to go sandwiches will all be mushy bread slabs if you continue to pack a juicy pickle in the sandwich wrapper. I haven't been to a McAlister's in a minute, just because they closed the one near me. The cashier was friendly and polite. I ordered the McAlister's club and switched out the chips for broccoli and cheese soup. My meal arrived quickly and was hot. The portions were sufficient and comparable to the price. The place was pretty active with customers coming and going, so that is always a good sign. They have good Arnold Palmers, so that is a plus. The restaurant was clean and the tables bussed in a reasonable time. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, and I wouldn't mind having lunch here again. read more

Bad experience. Waited for order while male employee with glasses was yelling and complaining about other people. He turns and looks at me and then continues to talk away while several people waited. He comes to take the order and is rude. But continued to be yelling loudly in back and complaining about coworkers. 2nd time with similar situation and he is doing the same. I called to order because the website was giving me trouble. Took my order of a Jalapeño crunch sandwich on baguette, with a side of salt and vinegar chips, and a regular sweet peach tea. He was able to tell me my total so I could get the cash ready and go through the window. Solid casual deli or soup and sandwich shop. Lots of choices: I had a 4 cheese grilled cheese with tortilla soup. My honey had a Rueben with potato soup. Both great comfort food. The woman who took our order was great, very nice and polite, but new. We asked for a full sandwich, and when it came out it was a half. The line cook, Nick, came out, and said that we had only ordered a half. He was rude and uppity, and then proceeded to talk about my wife and I to the other employees. We got to-go boxes and left. This location used to be great, but today was probably the worst experience I've ever had. I have come in many times for lunch, and it has never taken more than 30 mins. Today a coworker and I, went inside at 12:15 and waited in line to place our to go orders. Line took a while, but we weren't too worried. Finally ordered, and moved to the side by the drink station to wait. Order was placed at 12:29 and I didn't receive my food until 12:55, making me angry and late for work! We stood there watching the employees, and I can assure you that sloths move much faster. The only 2 employees that were busting their tails to get people served were Courtney, and a young man in a red shirt that said "refill manager". Courtney dealt with a difficult custom, and was very patient with her needs. Mr Refill Manager was hustling! Give that guy a raise! The rest of the staff looked like zombies. Definitely not what you should have working during the busy lunch hour. To top it all off, my food was not bagged like a to go order should be, I had to request it. Then my soup spilled because they didn't package it properly. No napkins, or utensils. So here I am at work, trying not to make a mess of myself while trying to get my sandwich out. My husband and I eat here frequently because we enjoy the sandwiches, cookies, brookies and extra large iced teas. My favorite is their Harvest Chicken Salad sandwich, with the addition of avocado for a very reasonable up-charge. We usually eat here in the evening. I understand why some reviewers have left very negative feedback, which I may have agreed with post-pandemic. I also know many restaurants have struggled to re-gain customers and workers; and some are continuing to struggle. But I also know, despite staff shortages, this McAlister's delivers consistent, quality food. And they apparently pay attention to reviews. For example, early on post-pandemic, we noticed smaller portions in our sandwiches and tables not being bussed quickly. However, in the last several months, we have found the sandwiches back to being full to over-flowing; bread is always fresh, as are the sweets; and tables are being bussed more consistently. As far as wait times, we have not experienced delays; however, we do not go at lunch time. And all staff have been friendly and helpful. Most recently, we had an overcharge that we questioned. Apparently, the company was converting to a new computer system with some inherent problems. The manager profusely apologized and asked that we give him some time, while we ate our meals, to work on correcting the errors in our bill. After some struggle to figure out how to make the correction, he was able to refund the incorrect charges to our credit card. He then came to our table with our new receipt, apologized again, and explained that they were learning how to use the new system and at the same time finding errors such as these. We appreciated what we were told and the sincerity of the manager. Finally, for those who stated they "will not go back," or words to that effect, please give the place another try. read more

I love Mccalisters. But this store smells like a wet smelly dog. It is so dirty. Nothing is clean about it. The floors the tables, benches. Everything is gross! The restrooms are awful. I do not recommend anyone to eat here. I can't imagine how the food prep area looks. The employees just stand around talking. They should be cleaning something. read more

Good quick lunch. I ordered and sat down and food was delivered in minutes. They offer a 1/2 sandwich and soup combo for $8.49 that makes ordering easy. Chicken tortilla soup was spicy and hot. The kick surprised me. The sandwich was a regular Club and tasted good. I've driven past this location for 2 years and finally decided to stop. Now I know I can swing by for an easy healthy lunch. This was my first time at this location, the same clean and open atmosphere is what I found. The servers were friendly and helpful when I ordered my food. You can't go wrong with any of the Spuds. Mac and cheese from here is very homestyle opposed to other restaurants where it's very artificial. My favorite item is definitely the sweet tea. Never disappoints. read more

We stopped here for lunch and had no complaints. Service was good, food came out quick, the restaurant was clean, and our order was correct. I ordered the Chipotle Chicken & Bacon Spud. It was good, and the potato was huge. I would recommend getting extra chipotle ranch sauce. I had to get extra for mine, Under all the cheese, bacon, and chicken the potato was a little dry, so the extra sauce helped. The kids' mac & cheese was a hit with my 2-year-old. My daughter loved the kids straw that was extra long, which allowed you to make it extra curvy. It's hard to explain, but it made her drink fun, and she loved it. The food was good and the cashier was sweet but... Please Please don't spray and mop the floors with ultra concentrated, super strong smelling chemicals while your establishment is still full of patrons. My daughter and I came here two weeks ago and again tonight. I asked the girl to pleeaaase stop spraying the chemical spray all over the floor, right next to where we were eating (both times). Not only were the fumes horrible, it made our food taste of chemicals. She ignored me and the other customers complaining and continued. read more

Young girl at counter was not knowledgeable about menu items and was very rude. When asked questions she just answered that they "were out". I ordered a coke and when she went to the fountain only the soda water came out. She simply said "we're out of coke". It was obvious the syrup needed to be replaced. This could have been taken care of in the 20 minutes we waited for two sandwiches (and no one else behind us in line). When order came up another employee was bagging our food and had asked our original cashier for help, twice. When she finally came over she told the nice girl packaging our lunch, "I heard you the first time!"
