We had a great experience at McCormick's. Good food and drinks, great service. My reviews are based on value. An expensive restaurant should have great food, and three stars if it does. If a cheap place has great food, five stars. We biked to Wayzata last weekend, they had their annual celebration on Lake Street but we wanted to sit down to eat. They had a good drink selection, I had a double IPA, then a Guinness. Nice atmosphere. The food was a little slow to come out, hardly noticed, except for the six year old. He gave me hell, I was trying to convince him I was not responsible when the food came out. Mi Vida got a McCormick burger and I got the clam roll, both were very good. The kids got, kid's food. The server was great and said they were buying us desert because of the slow food. Of course desert was great. An owner came to say hi to, he must know who I am. But free desert! Really really really good. Completely impressed. I got the green salad with salmon and switched up the dressing to a Caesar dressing. Hubby loved his Rueben. I will say this one thing. The addition of salmon doesn't indicate it is only 3oz. As weird as it was I order a second serving of salmon - totally worth it. Wonderful service. Cool, clean location. Nice menus! A little pricey. We ordered truffle fries ($7) as an appetizer - nice, subdued truffle taste with a dipping sauce and ketchup and Parmesan sprinkled over all. I ordered the veggie sandwich ($13), which has house made hummus and various vegetables. It came to the table quickly, but without the hummus. A server quickly brought me a side of hummus. I ordered the salad with it from a choice of soup, salad or fries. The hummus was salty, the salad greens in the veggie sandwich were salty, and the salad was salty. At one point, all of our waters tasted like salt water as well! So strange. They were replaced quickly. So much salt. Not sure if I would go back - everyone in our party seemed to have the same complaint. The service was very accommodating and I wanted the food to be good - it was just too salty! read more

This is a solid little irish bar amd restaurant which serves as a nice pressure release valve from Cov and the other packed restaurants in Wayzata. Good bartenders, proper Guiness. Only had the wings, but they are not your standard buffalo wings, unique taste and love the dryness. The restaurant side more formal looking which seems a bit odd to me. Never eaten there, seems more for the older crowd. Great little terrace on the sidewalk for our 3 month summer. read more

McCormicks is my favorite place in Wayzata. The staff is great and the food is always good! They have a great wine selection as well. I much prefer the bar section and rarely if ever sit in the dining area. The bar sections Irish pub feel is just right. In the summer it has a nice outdoor eating area. It's a reliably good place for breakfast, lunch or dinner, and for drinks or happy hour, too! (The house made breakfast sausage patties are my favorite.) read more

Went here the other night for happy hour (beer tap specials were $5). It was the first snow of the year and I went around 5 pm so the place was not too packed. Very cozy pub environment with Irish decor. This place definitely makes you want to sit down and enjoy a Guinness, which is exactly what I did. In addition I paired my beer with a McCormich's burger and fries. The burger was braised in Guinness and topped with pancetta (Italian bacon), white cheddar, and aioli. Burger had a good flavor and you can never go wrong with a Guinness. The only thing I was a little disappointed with was the service. It took my waitress 15 minutes to make an appearance and ask for my drink order, even though it was not that busy. read more

Went here this weekend during my training in Minnetonka. We had a group of about 14 and they graciously accommodated us on a short notice. It was a good choice since we were an eclectic bunch--some under 21, some vegetarian, lots of meat eaters, guys/gals, etc...we all found something that we liked. I was a piglet and devoured the burger and fries. And a Bell's beer. It was tasty! My dining neighbor had the beet/goat cheese flatbread and said it was the bomb. Looked pretty awesome. I really thought it was great that they provided two servers at our table. Service was swift and attentive. The location of the restaurant provided instant entertainment afterwards being right on Lake Minnetonka. Befriend the locals and you too can hang out on a boat while drinking chardonnay. My cousin and I ate at McCormick's and we both had a great experience! First off, our waitress was awesome. She was super friendly and very attentive. We started off with a $30 bottle of champagne, which our waitress was great at coming around topping off our flutes to ensure that we were never wanting for more. The ambiance of the restaurant is very nice. It's cozy and inviting, but you can also tell the bar area can be a fun spot if you're looking to have some fun. We didn't order any appetizers, but I had the lobster roll as my main course. It was delicious! The bread was toasted to perfection (you can still tell that it was Texas Toast and not fresh bread though), but the lobster was definitely fresh. The thing that I loved most about it was that there was barely any mayo or sauce. The lobster was definitely the star of the dish which is why it was so great. My cousin had some sort of turkey sandwich (forgot what it was called) and she loved it. It was huge though so she couldn't finish it all. To top off the night, our waitress stopped by around 11PM to inform us that it was happy hour (yay! as we'd already finished our bottle of champagne) so we ordered a couple glasses of wine and just talked and laughed. We got the steak and the miso cod, a side of mac and cheese and a side salad. We checked out the yelp menu (which wasn't accurate), then went to their website to order. The ambiance is charming, but the food is so below average, and in our opinion not a great value. Those four things we ordered tallied to 68 bucks before tax and tip, which would be totally fine if the food was wonderful. The salad to begin with... spring mix with one slice of a radish... that was it. Nothing else but the spring mix and one slice of a radish... not kidding. Would have been fine if the dressing was amazing, but it was just average and not a good value. The $30 steak really lacked flavor, was kind of fatty, and the fries were cold and soggy. The miso cod was ok... but I had asked for the hostess opinion on if it was buttery or had a lot of oil... she said no and that was a lie. There was a lot of oil and butter which made it slippery to eat. She said it came with a great slaw, she didn't say the slaw was literally a pinch of slaw. It probably would have been great if we had an app too. The mac and cheese was really rich which was great but such a small portion and just 'ok.' All that said, we would go back for drinks and maybe a HH app, but not be spending our money on the entrees. read more

I like this place...a lot, even if I've only been here for lunch. The vibe and layout is awesome It's a small, intimate place that is perfect for any kind of get together that's warm and inviting. I'm digging it. I had the brisket sandwich at lunch...and it was great. Perfect portions, with pickled jalapeños on the side that were the right amount of bite. The brisket was tender and delicious, the sauce was perfectly paired and the right amount. I had the side salad with it and the house dressing was good, I forget the name of it. It's a decent size salad too. 5-stars and I'll be back frequently. I wouldn't come here with a group of more than 4 given the small size. You might be waiting a bit. Parking can be tough, I'd opt for the garage behind it and hoof it. read more

After dinner at another Wayzata establishment, we wandered over to the newly-opened McCormick's Pub & Restaurant. We sat at the bar and ordered a couple drinks and watched some Twins baseball. The bar was hopping and the tables, both inside and out, were full. Our bartenders were friendly and quick with service. Having been in both of the previous restaurants to occupy the space, I have to say that I like what McCormick's did in terms of the interior renovation. It's cozy and casual, and fills a void in the Wayzata eating/drinking scene - Finally a pub! The seating is nice with quite a few tables outside and nice seating inside as well as at the bar. My husband appreciated that they have a solid selection of beers on tap. I appreciate that they serve prosecco by the glass and care enough to make sure that it is cold and not flat. I haven't tried the food yet, but the burgers that were going by looked darn tasty. read more

My fiancé and I had pretty close to a perfect meal here. The owner was standing by the door welcoming people, and we got seated right away. I had the smoked brisket sandwich and she had the lobster roll. Both were fantastic. But the fries, oh the fries. For such a simple thing, few restaurants get them right. Mccormicks nails 'em though. They. Are. Perfect. The "midday menu" was small, but well planned. It had unique offerings for all kinds of tastes. And I suspect that everything on it was close to perfection. My family and I walked down to McCormicks last night, in theory just for a drink...and then we saw the menu. We ended up staying for dinner and it. was. fabulous. We started with the summer flat bread, with asparagus, arugula, parm and heaven on it. It was amazing. Then we had salads - my dad had the beet salad, which he loved. And I had the special salad, which was heirloom tomatoes, roasted corn, queso fresco and spinach pesto. It was literally the best - and most Minnesotan - salad I've ever had. I could have eaten a bucket of it. We wrapped up with the burger (wonderful) and the beef tenderloin (out of this world - the potatoes were creamy and heavenly. I honestly scraped the plate clean.) The service was fantastic (the chef even came out to say hello - so nice of him) and the prices weren't too bad (particularly for Wayzata). We sat outside on the patio with our puppy, whom they gave a bowl of water and were happy to have hang out. Five stars all the way - this place is a GREAT addition to Wayzata! read more

I was first introduced to this charming Irish pub by some locals. It's a smaller space but has a cozy atmosphere and is the perfect meeting place to get together with some friends over a cocktail or dinner. The menu's smaller but the food overall is good. The apple buttermilk salad (with chicken) was one of the best I've had. My husband had the fish and chips which was just "alright". They offer daily specials and a Sunday Signature burger deal that's too good to pass up (their signature burger, fries and a bottle of Bud for $10). Tables can fill up quickly so if you're coming here with any size of a group make a reservation ahead of time if you can. My fiancé and I tried McCormick's for the first time tonight, and we will definitely be going back. The service was exceptional. Scott, our waiter, was fantastic. We started with the wings, which were uniquely seasoned and the meat fell right off the bone. I'll be ordering those on my next visit. For dinner we both had the Fish and Chips, which was a beer battered cod with fries. Being from Wisconsin I can say that I've had many fish fries, so my expectations were reasonable. While I'm not much of a cod fan, it was very fresh and about as good as it gets. The fries were perfect. It was great we drank got food, it sprinkled the kept checking if we wanted to come in but let us stay out. My wife and I brought a friend here from out of town on a Friday night for dinner without reservations. We had to wait a little while, which was expected, but we were able to get a round of drinks before being seated. This dining room is small with the bar in the middle near the door without much room to navigate. Makes it tricky to get around during the cooler months with bulky winter wear. They seem to be chasing the olde-timey Irish pub ambiance. They are doing it right! Our server was fantastic! When I inquired about the freshness of a couple beers they had on tap she informed me that yes, the Two Hearted was tapped just this morning. Score! Our food was plated very well and we were never rushed nor wondering where our order was. Food was very tasty. Plates were on the larger size but everything kept well enough for left overs. I'd love to stop in during the summer to enjoy the proximity to the lake. Shouldn't be too hard to find an excuse! read more

One of the best brunch spots in Wayzata. Friendly service and quality food. Ham and white cheddar omelet is always a safe bet, for something sweet - French toast with mascarpone cream will leave you feeling like a kid on a holiday morning. (At least in our house anyway - always had waffles, rolls or French toast, bummer if you didn't ) Dinners are also awesome here! They use to have live music on Fridays but it's been a couple of years since I was there on a Friday, more of my brunch haunt these days! From outside, one of those typical classy place in the neighborhood. What is very very nice is that it reminds me of 6pm in London. They have the same bar stand. First time there on a visit from Portland, Oregon. A buddy brought me there for a few drinks and a "pub lunch". Nice little place. The staff is pleasant and attentive. I have been there several times and have always had the same entree, the Signature Burger. It is a thing of beauty! I had it the first time I went and have refused to try anything else since. I have also split a salad that had apples and avocado that was very nice. It was fresh and cool without being heavy and laden with dressing. However, the best part about McCormick's food is the oysters. If you like good oysters, they usually have a selection of east and west coast oysters to sample from. (I was there for lunch last Saturday and they hadn't yet received their oysters for the day. But, they came in while I was eating and they got some ready for me for after my meal.) They also have live Irish folk music most Saturday afternoons. read more

I held a party for my sister at McCormick's with 22 people. It was the best party I've ever given. I checked many possible venues and I'm thrilled we used this one. Working with Paty could not have been better or easier. I wanted napkins made into roses and there they were. The set up was beautiful, the food was perfect and they made lovely table decor with their delicious food and flowers. The service was perfect, too. My next party and the one after that will be done here. Plus, they have the best biscuits I've ever tasted in my life. Everyone had fun and loved the food, surrounding and really entire party. This is my second time here. First time had the burger. One of the best I have ever had. This time I had a corned beef sandwich and wild rice soup. They make their own corned beef. We have been going to McCormick's for years but the last few times we have gone it has become disappointing that the portions have become so small. The beef tenderloin sliders are great - but now they don't even cover half of the bun. They should be called steak bites but nobody would pay $17 for 3 steak bites! If you add salmon to a salad it is less than 2 oz and for the cost it is not worth it. Again, they should call these salmon bites. And even their breakfast portions are now so small. The sausage patties have been cut in half of what they used to be. Once you see owners cut portions like this, it usually means either they are either going out of business or the owners are getting greedy. Either way it is not a good sign. read more
