Yep I have to admit I recently tried the Bagel with sausage, egg and cheese on the breakfast menu of McDonalds. I had an hour wait between appointments for my no driving friend and she asked if we could go to McDonalds. So with an eye roll I agreed. First I've never been a fast food fan with the exception of those mystery meat JIB tacos so you'll have to believe me when I say this was a huge concession on my part. Parked in their lot and walked in. My friend knew exactly what she wanted and placed her order then walked to a table and waited....me not as fast as I could not find anything that appealed to me. Finally saw the bagel and thought "it's a bagel, how bad can it be" envisioning tearing it to pieces with my teeth. I also ordered a large coffee. Order up and I was pleasantly surprised at the huge coffee at $1.47 for any size. It was better than most restaurants, hot and robust. The bagel was soft, toasty warm with a large sausage patty, a scrambled egg and cheese tucked in the middle. The bagel was $6.59 and IMHO worth repeating. So this morning after church I drove through and got three bagels for the two sleeping guys and myself and yes to was just as good as the first one. read more

The search for Happy Meal toys in Aiea, Oahu, Hawaii... Located on the second level of Aiea Shopping Center, this McDonald's location has drive-through and dining-in options. Inside, the restaurant is clean, bright, and spacious. The Christmas decorations were still up... which gave the place a festive atmosphere! The worker was good about telling me which Squishmallows they had. Currently, on 12.29.23, they had FiFi (the red fox) and Sunny (the yellow bee). They're both cute! I got a 4-piece Chicken McNugget box and Sweet Sour sauce with a diet Coke. The peeled apple slices kind of balance out the half-portion of French Fries... haha! Just because why I'm coming here, they have Hawai'i Exclusive Flavor "Guava Cream Pie"!!!! It's been a long time I come to McDonald's. These days, many people come and buy drive through but I walked in and ordered. The menu on the screen was changing so hard to see (for sure they have Guava Cream Pie or not) that's why I don't like screen menu. But the crew was very nice and friendly. Only couple people was inside, but the store was clean and comfortable. It was first time to have Guava Cream Pie, and it's soooooi yummy! This pie is baked pie, and outside is nice crumbly and guava jam and cream combination is not too sweet just right for the coffee. Love this! Hawai'i has some exclusive flavored pie but this is one of my most favorite pie! read more

Horrible service and they weren't even busy. Ordered Happy Meals for the kids one of them had a hamburger with NO onions. They even have the sticker on the wrapping that says so...but they put onions. The other Happy Meal was the standard chicken nuggets with apple slices and fries...no apple slices OR fries. Went to McDonald's at 10:50 am, ten minutes before they would stop serving breakfast on a weekend. When I got to the counter onto order my breakfast, I was told the manager decided to serve breakfast until 10:30am. Even the young lady behind the counter was perplexed. Went inside to pick my order up & the manager there wouldn't even bother to check if any of our orders went thru on their system. She was very unhelpful & rude. I've been to other nearby restaurants and some of those restaurant managers and employees actually have blamed me when mistakes happen. This won't happen under Karen's watch! I just had the poorest experience with a fast food restaurant. I tried to place an app order at the Pearl City McDonalds as some of my rewards points are about to expire. I placed an order for a Fish Sandwich using some of my rewards points as well as a couple of other items, but the app wouldn't allow me to place the order. Apparently that McDonald's was closed for renovations. I decided to try to place the same order at the McDonalds on Kam Hey, but again it wouldn't let me place the order. I decided to just drive to the location only to find it closed for renovations too. There was one last McDonalds in the area, so I tried the one in Aiea Shopping Center. This time when I tried placing the order from my app, the points I was planning to use were gone. I was getting so frustrated that I gave up trying to use my rewards points and just tried to place an order, but the app went haywire and thought it was breakfast and wouldn't let me place an order for a burger. I don't usually order from McDonalds but whenever I go to the Aiea Mcdonalds I am impressed with their efficiency. The employees here are mostly middle aged females that are very good at what they do. I've been there when Aiea High School gets out and a mass of teenagers are crowded in the order line and was impressed on how efficiently this crowd was served. Even the drive thru window lines gets pretty long at times but people in the know still line up because they know the line will move pretty fast. They take orders and give change pretty accurately. Yes, sometimes they didn't get your order just right but it is not too often. The food doesn't differ from other McDonalds but the service here does. read more

Just mobile ordered breakfast. And picked up at the counter. First, my ordered took 30minutes from the time of order to done. My family had breakfast at home and breakfast platter got smaller. Way less rice and only two port. sausage. It looked like they were so focused on the drive thru only. Next time I have to open and check my order. These mistakes will never change. We've been coming to this location for years. I've had ups and downs "from" checking my order and everything is there "to" trusting that everything is in the bag and later finding out something is missing. I now check before I leave. Never thought of writing a review for McDonald's because everyone knows this establishment and wouldn't think people would check Yelp. Today, decided to write a review because of our pleasant experience. We went to the drive thru, put in our order and while paying for our food, the person at the pickup window already had her arm out holding our package. Pleasant workers, fast service and accurate order...yay! 5 stars for today's experience hoping they will be consistent with this type of service. I like coming here to grab my cravings. I have been using the McDonald's app on my phone to claim deals or cash out points for food. I love using the app. You just click the deal to redeem and give the code before you order. Dollar drinks went up from $1.00 to $1.56. wow! That's crazy but everything in Hawaii is going up. Hope this doesn't last because some of us are trying to get by in life and is getting expensive and not worth it. You won't really see me going to fancy restaurants or expensive places to eat lately. It's mostly been fast food. That's even going up as well. Hawaii operates on import/export and that's part of the reason it is so damn expensive to live here. This location is always busy during certain times of the day. Just depends on when you get here. It was a long line for breakfast this morning. I came to claim my free hash brown with my points on my app and got the unsweetened iced tea which I love at McDonald's. I felt bad for the lady up front as she worked the first and second window but I give her credit for doing both. I will continue coming here as it's close to home. read more

I came here for morning iced coffee and a sandwich. I was so impressed by their exceptional drive thru service from everyone. Especially with this Covid-19, people aren't as friendly but the staff here are awesome! I was glad to see that everyone was wearing masks and gloves for their protection. As I was about to drive away, one of the lady told me to "stay safe." Yes, let's all stay safe! Thank you! I do have to add a comment and say that this Mcdonald's price is little higher than others. The Beretania Street location's drove thru was so long, so I ran inside to get two drinks. The line was short, but just one female worker who did cashiering, food handling, and drive up car service. So in other words, I would've been better off staying in the drive thru line, or even better, just driving off. The customer service here sucks before they don't have enough workers. People be nitpicking alot of small things but I realize this is fast food and not a restaurant. Can't really remember a time I had a problem with this location other than that one time and I've never seen that girl over there again. Even if this location is 8 cars deep it's still faster than jack in the box with 4. Food is always hot and they pay attention to the details of the order. Came here for lunch yesterday. Decided to do a walk in due to having about 4 orders and the drive tru line being soooo long. Just a tip, if you have more than two orders and your in the drive tru... they will not let you do more than two per vehicle. You will need to walk in or use their mobile app to do an order. The food always taste the same at every McDonald's. The customer service is awesome there! Lots of free parking. The reason for the 4 stars.. there's a few reasons. 1.drive tru you can only make a two orders. 2. I used the app for McDonald's. You can only use one coupon now and then you have to wait a hour to use another of their coupons. (Before you could use more than one in different transactions.. they got smart, lol) 3. I don't visit McDonalds often. This location in Aiea, though, often has a long drive-thru line, as I see when I go to Makoto Sushi or to The Alley. My last visit was actually when our plans didn't work out at Aiea Bowl. We intended to go out on a bowling outing, but we didn't expect to have to wait 1 hour and 45 minutes for a lane. So ... we scratched that plan. Instead, we took our younger relative to McDonalds. Those golden arches are one of her favorite places to be. Both the boyfriend and I don't really eat fast food, except for the occasional McFlurry or whatever random craving we have. So, during this visit, we just ordered a few things for our relative and kept her company while she enjoyed her later lunch (we had planned to eat at The Alley, but that was really crowded, too). The boyfriend and I ordered a hot medium coffee to share because we needed a pick-me-up right around that time. Here were some of the things we ordered during that lunch trip: Chicken McNuggets: This item always brings back memories of my childhood because I would always order this as part of my Happy Meal. It features juicy chicken nuggets made from white meat chicken. Our relative got the smaller box of nuggets (I forget how many nuggets came in the box, but she didn't get the largest size) and she always enjoys dipping them in sweet and sour sauce. Fortunately for us, she's pretty content with just these nuggets and fries, so we didn't have to order any combo meals or multiple burgers (because, well, most of the sandwiches here aren't that big). World Famous Fries: We also got a small fries. Most of the people I know who love McDonalds swear by their fries and think they're the best (compared to other fast food places). While I didn't eat any during this visit, I have to admit, they've got that consistent golden-brown hue and ideal crispiness (not too crunchy, but not soggy) down. The small container of fries my relative ordered was gone before we knew it. Filet-O-Fish: This was probably my last order from McDonalds as a grown up (not at this location ... once, there was a deal on buying two Filet-o-Fish sandwiches on the mainland, so I took advantage of it). This sandwich features a fish filet made with Alaskan Pollock that's sourced from sustainable fisheries. It's topped with American cheese and creamy tartar sauce, and it's served on a soft bun. I always did enjoy the taste of the filet because it had a moist, flaky interior and slightly crispy exterior. Back in that day, I wasn't a huge fan of tartar sauce so I would just ask for it on the side if I felt like putting a little on the fish filet (I just enjoyed the melted cheese that came on it). Now, I can't live without creamy tartar sauce - it's a must for any fish sandwich or fish and chips entrée. McCafe Coffee: I do have to admit, McDonalds coffee is good (and cheap). So, while our relative enjoyed her lunch, we sipped on our too-hot coffee. The coffee ended up being a little too strong for me (I had to add some sugar, and ended up ultimately giving it to the boyfriend to finish), but I enjoy the other McCafe espresso options, like the hot/iced mocha, mocha latte and iced caramel latte. These lattes/mochas have the option of getting non-fat milk, which I take advantage of, and I like the sweeter taste and silky, velvety texture. read more

Anywho there's this local haole girl that works here and she ALWAYS HELPS US. She's so kind. I hope she makes it big in life, she's a really nice perso. & deserves a good life. Anywho, I ALWAYS buy my kids toys from here. It's a lot cheaper spending buying it separately than WITH the happy meal. Kids only wants the happy meal because of the toy. If you want lukewarm. premade dry burgers-go to this location. You won't be disappointed 2 days ago I went here for the McTeri meal. What do I get? A dry not hot McTeri minus the Teriyaki sauce! I've also gone here for quarter pounders with cheese, and again they are dry and not freshly made at all! Only their fries are consistently good and hot! Last week, I went to Hawaii Kai McDonalds and got a hot freshly made McTeri burger with lots of teriyaki sauce, yayyy!!!! It's like night and day between these 2 locations. Wow. I mean WOW! I normally come here every morning to buy coffee because the staff is just wonderful and they ALWAYS make my coffee right. Today was a little different. Went there for lunch and to my surprise was treated to a FREE meal! WHAT???? McDonald's is giving back and saying THANK YOU to first responders and healthcare workers. Speaking for myself, I am always grateful for the hospitality that people and businesses show to us. There is no greater love than that. And coming to Aiea Heights restaurant is the one place I feel comfortable getting a good meal from. From the morning staff to the evening employees, they are wonderful people. No problem with getting the breakfast local deluxe platter with all Portuguese sausage (instead of spam). You can also sub pork sausage, bacon, Canadian bacon, etc in for the spam. A secret that I am sharing with y'all...one if those unwritten menu things. The am staff are very friendly and efficient. The two lovely ladies at the drive thru are really nice and such a breath of fresh air, especially in the early morning hours, on your way to work or school. Speaking of drive thru, even with a long line of cars, the pace moves pretty quickly and the wait is minimal. They accept credit cards and cash. I'm sure they will accept checks too, with ID, of course. Wi-Fi is also free when dining in at McDonalds Aiea. All in all, an enjoyable experience here, with great foods and drinks. Enjoy! read more

I like Aiea's McDonalds because it convenient when I need a quick meal for my grandchildren on their way to school. They have all the menus items you would normally find at a McDonalds. The staff is very friendly and they try to be efficient considering it's McDonalds. The problem with this particular McDonalds is the way their drive-thru blocks cars from getting to other businesses and backs up the main busy road. This McDonald's is always busy and I'm sure the management knows about this problem and yet it doesn't seem to be addressed. Sometimes it takes a good 20 minutes just to get up the ordering window. It's a combination of bad design and yes it's a McDonalds drive-thru. If your in a hurry and need a quick meal skip this McDonalds. read more

OMG! The worst ever. I drove thru this morning to get breakfast for myself and my youngest grandson. First of all, the person taking the order should have said something like "I'll be with you in a minute" instead of me saying "hello" twice before getting a response. Then i get my foid. Get home and NO hash brown, with my #3 meal and 2 out 3 of my grandson's hotcakes were in 2 pieces. Really? What happened to quality control or is there none because it's McDonalds? Much like other McDonald's on the island, Aiea McDonald's staff are nice enough and friendly. The drive thru is tight, especially since there are cars backing out of diagonal parking stalls and if they're not careful they can hit you! Ugh! Getting out of the shopping center parking is difficult too because Aiea Heights Drive is very busy. Shopping center management want you to turn right, but many people ignore the sign and turn left, blocking traffic and making everyone else in Aiea Shopping Center wait. How rude... read more

Today, they had issues with their mobile ordering system again then to top that off didn't have 4 apple pies available requiring me to wait 7 minutes while my remaining order went cold. This is definitely one of McDonald's worst branches...EVER. They always have the longest drive-thru lines and seem to be the slowest, sadly due to incompetence. They have messed up on my order every single time that I've come through their drive-thru. I have never had a fast food restaurant make THAT many mistakes. They are also in a very bad location where you end up waiting in a line to get out of the parking area because it's running into the many cars that are pulling in to the center. And because of the limited visibility, you aren't allowed to take a left onto Aiea Heights Drive, which makes it even more frustrating because most people want to head left to get to the also very busy Moanalua Road. It was the last straw when the worker gave all of our order to the car ahead of us who pulled over on the side and had already begun eating their food before realizing it wasn't their order and I watched the worker run out and collect it from them then trying to walk it straight to our car to give it to us. We declined the food and was advised to pull aside also as they redid our order and frantically stared at their computer / register wondering where they went wrong. No apology nothing, just looking frazzled and unorganized. Do yourself a favor and visit the branch no more than a mile away off of Kamehameha Highway. They seemed to get our order correct majority of the time and for some reason the food always tasted better. read more
