I ordered a larhge iced latte at the drivethrough. Not mentioning it took them forever when there were almost no people, they also managed to confuse this simple order and give me a small something with whipped cream on top. When I asked if whipped cream is part of iced latte, a guy who gave me the drink said yes when it is not! I showed him a photo of the drink on their site and asked them to remake what I ordered. They told me to wait near a curb and it took them another 5 minutes to bring me...... a freaking small iced mocha . what idiots are you hiring????? this place is a joke! read more

I will say, I am not a huge fan of McDonald's but stopped here on my way home. I sat down to eat my hash browns and my kid's meal. I'm not going to lie I was surprised when one of the guests sprayed "liquid ass" aerosol spray at one of the other guest's face in which the other guest exclaimed, "lord have mercy it smells like a skunk crawled into a sewer and died!" Not impressed with the customer service here as of late. Every time I come through the drive thru, you can barely hear the gal on the intercom and when when you go to pay they practically throw the money at you. When you pull up to the next window you aren't greeted by a smile but more of "here's your food, now leave" there hasn't been any customer service every time I go there and since when is it professional to wear fake nails and hair without nets in a fast food joint?? I made an order on the McDonalds App and made *payment*. But when I went to Atascadero McDonalds, the lady there said I had to wait for order to show up. The suggestion was to walk around the store. Finally, after about 10 minutes, I received the "We see your here" message on the app. After waiting for awhile in line, the lady said she doesn't see anything on the console and that I had to wait. 10 more minutes later... Said she can't do anything about order since it wasn't showing up on the console. I ended up having to leave with no order and a charge on my Credit Card. The app was obviously having issues, but the Atascadero McDonald's handled the situation poorly. read more

Woohoo!! My 100th review. Sorry it had to be a losing review, McDonald's. I have had many problems with this location getting my order correct. I always order my burgers plain, it just comes out of my mouth automatically when I order. I order a Happy meal cheeseburger (plain) with an extra patty. For some reason this confuses the folks here. The Morro Bay folks don't have any trouble understanding that the extra patty is to go ON the burger!! Both times recently I have had issues with this order at this location. The first time they actually gave me the extra patty in a separate box!! Today they got that part correct but it was not plain. I had to pull over on the side of the road (like I did the last time, too) and scrape all the extra goop off the burger before I drove over 41. The thing that prompted me to write this review tonight is that the younger guy at the pickup window was giving the older guy at the pickup window major disrespect. I had asked if my order went in as Plain, because the order window guy gave me a bad receipt that didn't show if it went in as plain. The younger pickup window guy was practically yelling at the older pickup window guy saying that they got the order correct (meaning they put both patties on the burger). The older guy was trying to explain that he asked because I asked. I asked him again if it was Plain and two patties and he said yes. I think this restaurant is disfunctional and won't go back unless it is to order cheap sodas to go with my Burger King meal!! In the past three months we have ordered here 3 times. All 3 orders were missing items or completely wrong. The last two times we were smart enough to check the order before driving away. When it is brought to their attention their reaction is consistent... it's your fault. They act as if your trying to get over on them. It's like the longer the construction has gone on, the worse the customer service gets. I understand they're working in a construction zone which probably sucks, but if you hate your job so much you can't even feign politeness, it's probably time to get a new job. Customer service has been steadily declining but today was terrible. Even though there was no line in the drive-thru it took awhile for someone to take my order. They also really struggled with taking my order and I had to repeat things a few times. I also had the pleasure of hearing their personal conversations over the speaker since she didn't bother to turn off the headset. Food was blah. Pretty typical. We only get it for the kids as a rare treat. But my soda was totally flat and just got dumped when we got home. I feel like maybe they should have just taken a financial hit and closed during construction because the customer service is probably driving away customers who won't be back even when construction is done. I don't know why establishments change people around. It seems like they fired the entire morning staff and replaced them. The older lady that had been there for at least the last year taking my money was always so nice. The girls at the drive thru window were polite. NOW ITS A JOKE. The person taking the money seems to be ok, but the blonde that hands you your food isn't. I don't think she can deal with fast paced drive thru. She practically throws the food and drinks. I don't understand why it's so hard to get good help. The last two times I ordered my grandchildren happy meals they've gotten things they haven't ordered. And a couple of weeks ago I ordered an egg mcmuffin but got a sausage mcmuffin, which I hate. All of these were through the drive thru. If I have to sit there and go through everything at the drive thru to make sure they got it right, I would just go in. If I had time to go in, or the willingness to cart a 4 and 5 year old in there, I wouldn't be going through the drive through. People should be proud of doing a good job, not just doing it for the money. read more

After reading the reviews describing the terrible service here on Morro Road, I really think I have dodged a bullet. Coffee has always been great and a good alternative to StarBUCK$$. I haven't had a bad experience yet. Although I do not go here too often, the times I have have been all just fine. I can't speak negatively of the customer service, either. No issues with the young staff here.They all appear to be trying despite all of it. I should add I have ended going here until construction is over. I feel downright reckless patronizing a place that stays open during renovations. So many other choices in town, why bother?? I thought the safari theme that they had going on here was cute and fun! It's McDonalds. I get it. I'm not expecting much. The bar is low. However, basic courtesy and respect is not too much to ask. I have kids, it's by the park. We come here often. More often than not they get the order wrong. Not a huge deal. However, when you try and correct them; they (even the manager) argue with you!! Yeah Lady, I really wanted to turn the car around, come back, leave my kids in the car, come in and ask for apple slices in the happy meal. That was my plot all along. Made a mobile order and showed up to pick it up. Kid walks out two minutes later and tells me they're "closed" so unfortunately I can't place an order. I told him it was already placed and that I was there to pick it up and he runs back inside, only to come out a minute later and say sorry, you have to cancel it. So then I asked how to cancel it, he said there should be an option for it in the app. There was none. I searched high and low and the only one thing popped up in regards to refund. You know what it said? Talk to your local store you were picking up from, and they can take care of it. So I called and the girl who picked up said yeah there's a way to do it on your order in the app. Again, there was not. They all seemed very disinterested in helping and got me nowhere. The kicker? Another lady showed up the same time and tried getting her order. She was able to get inside and when she walked out empty handed, I told her what had happened and she informed me that the same thing happened to her a year ago and she got no help from the employees and never got a refund. I'm furious. Do not EVER go to this McDonalds. The employees are trash, don't care about the customer and essentially stole my money. Don't go here. Ever. Shame on this particular McDonald's for using Styrofoam on it's large drinks. They seem to use it particularly on the tea drinks. More than 80 cities in California have banned Styrofoam. It is estimated that 15 percent of storm drains litter is Styrofoam and it's the 2nd most common for of beach debris. I love going through the drive through to get the dollar menu items. My best buys are the Sausage McMuffin, hash browns or apple pies. I really enjoy them when I'm flying down Hwy 41 around those curbs. I haven't been in awhile, only because I was hoping after the remodel things would have gotten better.... I was wrong. I usually go through the drive thru, and it seems like everyone is trained to take orders without entering them in a register. I use to swing by in the mornings, but after days of repeating myself 4-5 times to get a McMuffin combo and still receiving the wrong sandwich, I stopped going. Tried again today, and unfortunately nothing has changed, I had to repeat myself at least twice and I didn't get everything I ordered. I don't think I will be going back any time soon. read more

Honestly I went in to buy a couple of drinks today and I was ignored, they would look at me but they wouldn't say anything, wouldn't take my order. After 10 minutes of waiting finally a woman walked up and took my order, I wanted a large shake so I got that, bought it and was off. I had realized I forgot to buy a coffee for my mom so I went back and had to wait 10 minutes again until a new guy took my order. I have a job, I know what its like to be new, its overwhelming and stressful so I was able to bear with him and I was super nice, smiling and all the whole time despite him not being able to figure out my order.. Which was fine. But a woman came over again to the counter and put it in for me so I thanked her and the guy and told them to have a good night, they didn't say anything back.. So I felt kind of hurt as I'm a sensitive person and I had just gotten off of work, I had a rough night as well. I usually order from the drive through from them but I honestly don't think I will anymore after that, I especially will not go in to get something from them again. I swear I'm not usually one to complain about customer service as I'm empathetic and understanding, I'm human. But this one really got me. We live locally, and stop here from time to time. Recently the building went through a remodel, and unfortunately it seems the quality of service has as well. On a recent order, the staff was extremely slow in completing my order. They were all chatting in the back, and only after they finished their conversation did they begin to make my order. This was an unnecessary and inconvenient delay at a "fast food" restaurant. In addition, the person taking my order offered no greeting, and no smile. Went here last night for 4 filet o fish that were buy 2 for 6, two large fries, and 2 mcchickens. The employee says pull up to the front parking space while they cook the mcchickens. The cheese on all the filet o fish was turning and drying out. All of those were thrown out. Maybe the fries are good? Nope. COLD. And the mcchickens were just meh. If I could leave 0 stars I would. They mess up orders constantly. The last time I was there I went through the drive-through and they had me pull forward to wait for my food which wasn't a big deal. They took over a half-hour and when they came out with food it wasn't even my order. They seemed really confused. I showed the employee my receipt which she took and then later lost. She went back inside and didn't ever come back. I went inside after another 5 minutes and she straight up ignored me and walked to the back so she wouldn't have to deal with me. I told another employee what was going on and finally, they started to make my order. I asked them if they could comp. some of the food or give me a discount since I waited about 40 minutes at this point but they were unwilling to do that. So I asked for a full refund and gave them their food back. I will not be returning to this McDonald's until they can get their stuff together. They got our order wrong. One of the orders was a two cheeseburger meal, the other was a hamburger happy meal. The server read it back to us just as ordered. They took forever getting our order done. So bad that I grabbed the happy meal before the rest of my order was up. Got back to the table and realized it was a cheeseburger. Brought it up and the lady said it was totally her fault, threw out the cheeseburger and gave us a burger. No big deal there. Then we only got one cheeseburger of the two. It was pointed out that the register only put down for one cheeseburger. The person running the register said she didn't know what happened, and we should have gotten two but the screen says one so we only get one. The tale of two McDonald's. If you come to this restaurant on the weekday, prior to 5 pm the service is very good, with employees that are polite and we'll trained in customer service. Most times your food order is correct and hot. I love the iced tea here and at a dollar a pop it's a good value. But heaven help you if you venture here in the evening or on weekends. The poor customer service starts with whomever is taking your order. "What can I get you" in an exasperated tone is the greeting you'll receive and it's usually after a 3 to 4 minute wait at the speaker. No matter how many cars are lined up there is ABSOLUTELY no sense of urgency to process the customer. Then when you finally get your order it is, more often than not, cold or wrong. I cannot even try to count how many times I have gotten sweet tea instead of the unsweetened iced tea that I ordered. Once I even had, what looked to be, the shift lead pull the top off of the cup, smell it and tell me it was unsweetened. Not sure how he could tell by the smell. Of course when I tasted it, thankfully before I left the window, it was sweet. His attitude about the whole event was "oh well". And this wasn't the first time i have had this young man display a poor attitude. Arrogant and incompetent sums up his performance. He has NO business in a supervisory or leadership role. There is ABSOLUTELY no concern for customer service during these times. Today's visit was more of the same. We ordered a large iced tea, with EXTRA ice, and a small fry. By the time we got our order the fries were ice cold and the tea had little to no ice. They had taken over 8 minutes to serve the customer in front of us while our order sat on the counter. Instead of pulling them forward and walking their order to them when it was prepared they just had him sit in line. A perfect example of no concern for the customer or the quality of their product. It's sad because this used to be a very well run place. Now, only about half the time. Hopefully the owners or general manager will read these reviews and clean up the place....or not. read more
