Haven't eaten here in a long time but my boyfriend and I decided to get some fries and a hamburger the other day. The lady who took my order in the drive-thru was very nice and knew exactly what was on everything we ordered. Once we got to the window she was friendly and thanked us. We then received our food at the second window and it was okay... the fries were amazing (as always) but my chicken wrap had fatty pieces of chicken and the lettuce tasted horrible! I ate maybe 3 bites and then threw it away. My boyfriends hamburger had no sauce so it was very dry and flavorless. Anyways, our drinks and fries were good but I recommend not eating the chicken. read more

Terrible. We dont go here often. Every time we do, its a let down. Tonight we only went there to get dinner for my kids. Anyone in the business knows how important it is that kids food is done right or it can ruin the night. We ordered two happy meals and a plain hamburger. We got the food home and the hamburger had cheese on it, we were asked what kind of sauce we wanted, asked for sweet and sour but got no sauce at all, and there were no toys in the happy meal. I can't let a mcdonalds have a 5 star rating :) The burgers are greasy, and taste more like mush than beef. They also skimp on the pickles.

Clean facility. Stopped by on our road trip for a bathroom break and breakfast. There was a man inside the woman's restroom, I notified the manager and she seemed concerned and said she would get on it, but proceeded to walk back to the drive thru window? We had to repeat our order several times yet they still got it wrong and we had to get a refund. We walked back to the counter because the SWEET TEA dispenser at the drink area was empty and the young man filled our cup with ICED COFFEE??? The young man and woman at the register honestly had no clue what they were doing. Our food came out well but a man after us had to send his meal back for being cold! It looks like a nice McDonald's but I guess buyer beware? Inconsistent staff and questionable management. read more

McDonald's - Burgers Near Me - Atascadero, California

Awful. I have gone into this restaurant right after they opened first thing in the morning and every table was dirty. So the night crew and the day crew both ignored it. I have been in the store early in the morning watching the opening crew behind the counter eating breakfast while cooking. That is NASTY. I started to report it to the manager but she was eating and drinking too. I only saw 2 people in the place that looked like they were there to work. The manager and everybody else were laughing and joking. It's okay to have fun at work, but handle the work first. When did the rules change allowing restaurant workers to prepare food with their hair uncovered and hanging down in the food. I gave one star because they remembered to turn on the lights. read more

This is a place that needs to teach it's employees about customer service. We ordered at the drive through we asked for 2 sweet tea"s they gave us regular tea no big . When we went in to ask for what we ordered the cups were pulled from our hands and the eye rolling began. I will never go back to this McDonalds ever again. read more

Stopped on our way home from vacation. Two employees debated at the drive window if the drink they gave me was right and then one said "oh well"....it was not the right drink. Not a big deal, but don't have this conversation in front of your customer. Especially if you're going to say "oh well". Then we brought to the attention that we were missing two McMuffins. The manager was at the window and said we were only charged for two. We told her we needed two more and she rudely said "ok $3.23 then". She acted like it was an inconvenience that they charged us wrong. The only good thing was that our food was hot. read more

I'm the only one in line and I make an order only to be asked to pull up and wait for my food. I only ordered a double cheese burger and a Mc chicken sandwich. After attending our meeting yesterday evening my wife and I walked to the nearby McDonald's and were surprised to see that no one was even honestly ready to help us to order our dinner up front. One person saw us by the french fries and walked to get more containers for them and said nothing and another just walked by us while we were ready to order. Horrible Horrible Horrible. Waited 30 minutes for 2 egg mcmuffins and a Sausage biscuit with egg and cheese meal. Told me they sent out my order earlier but they never called my number. Tried to give it to me without hashbrowns so had to wait for that. Then they had 3 egg mcmuffinns instead of my sausage biscuit with egg and cheese so had to wait for that and got some attitude from the girl behind the counter. Took over 30 minutes. So my roommates and I decided to go to Mcdonalds and get something to drink after sitting around doing homework, I myself got a camel frappé because they are delicious. I get home and continue my homework when I take a large sip from my drink, before I swallowed my sip I noticed a weird chunk so I spit it out on to a napkin and guess what I found? A fucking fly. I'm so absolutely appalled by this that I refuse to even finish my drink. pretty typical for a McDonald's honestly, I don't see what's so special about it, but at least they give you what you want and it doesn't take forever, but overall, the food is mediocre and the drinks are fine, but what I did find interesting was the fact that they had Minute Maid slushies and they honestly tasted pretty interesting. It would be really nice for the cashiers taking our order would let us know that there is now an extra charge for a chocolate milk with a Happy Meal. I don't mind paying extra, but at least ask first. When I asked the person giving our food, they just relied with "Yep it's extra". Very unprofessional. Very concerned that line where the make your food.. Lettuce on burger , cheese , Tomato's, etc.. The lady had no gloves on and long acrylic Blue finger nails.. Grabbing lettuce bare handed and cross contaminating everything around her.. .. Even more concerning... The manager in black sweater is here watching.. Even Taco Bell gloves up on the line.. Come on Mcdonalds.. Thats lazy . The food so so tonight , ( french fries were hot) but the young man at the cash register, very polite and great customer service skills... I don't know the employees name but she's usually working at the first window. Horrible customer service! She was rude, mean and disrespectful. Yelling at her co-workers then yelling into my car. My 7 year old was with me and she scared him. I told the employee at the pick up window and she said they've had several complaints about her. We went back to the drive-thru about a week after that and had to deal with the same employee. She was still awful, just a little toned down. read more

This place is a joke. I have gone back cuz I love McD fries but this location has a serious problem with service. Place your order and then be directed to wait in one of two designated spots while they eventually bring out your food. And then give it to someone else who was behind you in line. (BTW just getting to the #2 waiting spot requires probably driving over a curb to avoid hitting the car in #1 waiting spot.) When I note that my order (when delivered after the previous people) is short my fries, she takes it back in, returns with only the burger and shows me a receipt for only a burger. MY RECEIPT however, shows the correct order. When this finally gets resolved, I get home to find that I have the WRONG BURGER. The apology was tepid. BTW the order taker was good, understandable and efficient. The rest was a joke!!!!!! read more

1 star because you can't give no stars, just try to order a hamburger no cheese 4 out of 5 times it will have cheese. and when you try to tell someone you can't understand what they are saying unless you are fluent in spanish and you have to say WHAT DID YOU SAY I DON'T UNDERSTAND YOU! I don't care where they come from but at least learn to speck english if you are going to serve at the window or counter. And be sure to count your change, girl taking money gave me the wrong change 3 times before I had to tell her what my change should be and she got mad and told me she was doing to much at 1 time! By far, the Atascadero McDonald's is THE worse on the entire central coast of California. They nickle and dime their patrons for ANY change on the menu; get orders consistently wrong; and the quality of their products are average at best. I'll drive to Paso first before I ever make another purchase there again. And I live only 4 minutes away from the Atascadero franchise! read more

I really don't know why this McDonald's is not up to par. I just saw the film Founder about Ray Kroc. Maybe the owner should too. Their standards are very low regarding food and service. To be clear- I don't eat at McDonald's often, but when I do, I always wonder why I do it. I'm not sure if McDonald's was only good to me as a kid or if they just really, really suck now. In the past ten years, I've eaten at 3 different McDonald's locations. Grover Beach (decent), Morro Bay (what a joke that place is!), and the Atascadero location. The Atascadero location is the worst McDonald's, ever. Yes- even worse than the Morro Bay McDonald's. They can never get an order right! (I received a Big Mac without one of the patties and the middle bun!) The food always tastes hours old and the patties taste like dry, over salted soy patties. The chicken nuggets? Imagine they've been sitting under a heat lamp all day and there's no moisture left in them, at all. There's your lunch. Great. I asked for BBQ sauce and sweet and sour for my nuggets. I got ranch. Seriously- this place needs a lot more than a physical makeover. They either need a whole new staff or they need to train differently. Seriously- something's gotta give! read more

It's a sad day. Today I had to come to the realization that we do have discrimination here in our happy town. Here I am standing at the counter to place my order but no body would help me. Plenty of staff were working and one women was making coffee just across the isle. So I politely ask if any body was working the counter. She replied "I am" and she continued to stock the cups, wipe down the counter and so on. Any thing she could do but place my order. Now I must point out that I am the only person waiting to order at this time until a Hispanic gentleman came in and stood behind me. I went to this McDonalds on Saturday morning, 9/15/18. I ordered a small coffee and a bottle of water. I was handed my receipt and stepped aside so the next customers could place their orders. I watched the staff take the orders of 4 gentlemen everyone ordered coffee and? She handed every one of them their coffee and receipt. She saw me standing there, but could not hand me my coffee⁉⁉⁉ I stood their for at least 5 minutes with no acknowledgment of me being there. Next I heard her say I'm out of coffee, so another staff went over to make coffee. I stopped her, showed my receipt and asked for my water and left. I felt like I was being treated unfairly , was it because I was a female, so I wasn't allowed to be served until all the men in line were served⁉⁉ is this a prejudiced establishment⁉⁉ Maybe they have something against women. Another lady who was waiting for her order, didn't get hers before I left and no telling how long she was waiting. I guess the only way to get treated fairly is to use the drive thru. As I was waiting I noticed the drive thru was going fast and being served right away. read more

If you ever wanted a good reason to avoid McDonald's, this place would not disappoint. From what I have seen in my 3 visits in the last 4 weeks, McDonald's hasn't gotten rid of the clown. They are working right here. Ray Kroc and the McDonald brothers would be turning in their graves if they knew how this place is run. On 4/25/18, walked to the counter to order and this guy in the back is stuffing food in his mouth with the sanitary food prep gloves on as if it is nobody's business. Today 5/21/18, the guy assembling burgers gives a high five to his buddy who looked to be working the register and goes right back to making burgers without changing his gloves. The young manager up front opens a cabinet and a stack of coffee filters fall onto the nasty floor next to the dripped ice cream. Instead of tossing them in the trash, he throws them right back into the cabinet. Mind you this was one of the managers. I complain to the two young managers. I tell them they are going to get people sick and that maybe I should stop going there. The young manager proceeds to tell me it is my choice if I want to continue going there. No apology or we'll correct the issues, sir. Instead it is my choice! Then in my ending conversation with him he takes is finger and rubs it across under his nose - NO LIE. The same gloveless hand that just moments earlier handed my son an ice cream cone. This place is nasty and so is the attitude of the young careless management. Some one is going to get sick. Avoid, Avoid, Avoid! Who know what else is going there with these young managers that are not taking their jobs seriously. Their sanitation standards are not being adhered to. There is a lack of serious management to keep things in order. Nightmare scenario of young careless workers without proper supervision on sanitary standards who are going to get people sick. The food is mediocre as it is, now add the extra layer of gross and you have a disgusting food establishment. Screw the buy get one free coupons, it is not worth the experience or getting sick because of unsanitary practices. No more Atascadero McDonald's and their clowns! read more

The McDonald's in Atascadero serves the food fresh and the coffee fresh. (Coffee really matters to me .. see my Orcutt, CA, McDonald's review!) I visit this McDonalds about once a week .. sometimes more, I live about 40 miles south of the store, but travel a lot. The staff there, including management is awesome. They always make you feel welcomed .. like they appreciate you stopping in. The decor of this McDonald's is a little different than any other McDonald's I've been too .. has kind of a safari look to it .. with pictures of animals on the walls. Different .. but, nice. Anyway .. it's the people that make a place .. and this place is a good one! The Atascadero McDonald's is easy to get to off the 101 and does have a Playland for the kids. read more

I'm not sure how to give this listing no stars or if there even is a way. I am an employee at another local McDonalds. When I visited this establishment just a few days ago, I observed a disorganized disaster and a terrible example of good customer service. The fries had been sitting for more than fifteen minutes in a completely mix-matched pile of either undercooked or burnt fries which I observed were made haphazardly and unmonitored by a brand new employee. The three crew members stumbled over themselves and confused each other without supervision from their manager who was busy constantly taking orders or waiting her time making drinks and making long lines of customers wait. On top of all this I brought in my free meal voucher that I received from my employer when I began working at another McDonalds a few months ago, and the manager who was taking my order took the voucher and showed it to her new employee (who had no uniform). And he said that though he received a voucher it did not look quite the same and so seemed it counterfeit. The voucher had he address of that exact restaurant and the pen marks were obvious. Someone needs to whip these people back into line because that was an insulting excuse compared to hor much work and care I put into my own job. Some people are slobs and their food is bound to be foul somehow every time. We also meanwhile observed the manager and drive-thru dealing with three other complaints as well. read more

There's a reason why she's working at McDonald's and not a better paying job!! Loser!! She sucks!! I definitely will never go back to this McDonald's ever again!!
