This is definitely a unique looking McDonald's. It's built inside of a historic home in Freeport, Maine. I didn't see any special menu items, but I heard during seasonal time they offer a lobster roll sandwich. I guess that's Main's version of the McRib. The place is very clean inside and outside. There's plenty of parking and a really nice outdoor seating area. It's also located within walking distance of a lot of nice shops in Freeport. It has a drive-thru as well. Other than the way it looks and the location it's just a McDonald's. read more

This has to be the cutest McDonald's I've ever been to! The building is beautifully restored with charming wood floors and even a fireplace, giving it such a cozy feel. The food was good and the service was great, just what you'd hope for. Definitely a neat spot to check out if you're in Freeport visiting L.L. Bean and the surrounding shops! read more

The reason I went here was to get ice cream. Unfortunately, they had run out -- which, I suppose, is better than the machine being broken. On the positive side, this is without a doubt the most immaculate-looking McDonald's I've ever had the pleasure of beholding, and the service was quick (considering it was the middle of the night and extremely busy). read more

This is the 3rd time I've ordered in Freeport the last few days. The first two times were subpar. Today's breakfast was the last straw. See the pictures of the breakfast my husband received. Is that supposed to be scrambled eggs? My husband could not eat the eggs, all the other food was cold and rubbery as if it had been sitting there a while. And he paid $9.17 for this! Should be able to trust McD to get it right. Doesn't work out that way here. Ordered two apple pies on line but they had none. Was offered a cookies and cream pie and a sundae in their stead. The pie asked me to enjoy it by 5pm today. The current time is 8:45pm. Why use a date and time it gets served after the marked time? There is one person in the whole place, evidently, that cleans the kiosk area, the soda fountain, and the dining areas. The manager had her cleaning an area that could simply be closed off while the kiosk and fountain were a horrible mess. Sticky counters, food and tickets all over the floor and poorly stocked lids and straws. I know it can be done better. I've seen it. Stick to the drive thru where food arrives from a happy hole in the wall and you remain none the wiser to the dark shenanigans within. read more

One of the few McDonald's that always has the sugar free vanilla flavoring for your coffee. I love their iced coffee. 99 cents for one per day on the app. Redecorated interior. Can order from kiosks or cashier or drive through or on your app. The app has many coupons you can use. read more

This is one of the fanciest, if not the fanciest McDonald's I've ever been to. I was also served by one of the nicest employees of any McDonald's ever. I normally don't feel compelled to write reviews for fast food but this was unique. Ironically I think I received the first burned nuggs ever in all my years downing them, but the experience of having somebody nice versus someone chucking a bag at your car overshadowed that point. read more

Ordered my food it was not busy waited 10 minutes for 2 hash browns egg biscuit and egg McMuffin . Manager came out with wrong order . I politely asked her for correct order she actually ignored me . What a snotty arrogant teaching her coworkers to act the same . Egg biscuit does not take much to make . Lady you don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure that out . This is McDonald's! You came to work in a dirty uniform your hair was messy at least look presentable to the customers . While I was standing there her little boy staff yelled we are out of biscuits. Ya ok I won't ask for a refund keep your $3 . It's on me ugly lady with bad attitude. read more

This McDonald's exceeded my expectations. As we were driving here, we almost missed the building because it does not look like your average McDonalds. Built inside an 1850s home, this McDonald's had an ambiance that made me feel like I was having breakfast with Paul Revere himself. The restaurant was clean, and the workers were pleasant and welcoming. The music was liberatingly refreshing. Food was consistent as expected. Overall an enchanting New England experience. We hadn't been to this McDonald's for years. Our plan was to enjoy a cheeseburger and sit in the front room. If you haven't been to the Freeport McDonald's make a point to visit. This McDonald's is in an old beautiful house. You might pass it if you're looking for the Golden Arches. We were sad but understood the room was closed because of staffing issues. The counter staff were very busy and trying to keep up with all the orders. We hope the next time we visit the front room will be open so we can enjoy the beauty of this room. read more

Coke here for one reason only. The building is adorable! The McDonalds is built into an old historic home and there isn't any huge signage or Golden Arches like most have. There is a drive though and full ordering inside. It's like having lunch in someone's home!. read more

Five stars for fast food! We stopped one late night after work around 8:30. We were starving and cranky and the staff made everything all better for us. I know you're thinking, but it's McDonalds...yes but the food was FRESH the QPC was so juicy! Yum!!! The fries were HOT!! Had to wait a bit before we could eat them. The staff was so friendly and polite. The drive thru is a bit funky as it wraps around the lot but there was no line, so it was all good. We ate our food in the car so I can't comment on the dining area. I will say the parking lot garbage receptacle was clean and empty so I could actually throw my food away. The parking lot and grounds were very clean and well maintained. If you or family are looking for a quick familiar bite to eat. I recommend this McDonalds. read more

i walked in and i saw a man crying in pain from burning his hand because one of the machines spat flames on him. i then saw a dog pee in the corner and the employees just simply videoed and laughed. i then ordered a quarter pounder with cheese. it was pretty good. would come again. read more

McChickens were tasteless, French fries had no salt! They also messed up on our sandwiches, so my husband went inside to tell them, and while he was standing at the counter he saw the employees throwing the sandwiches to be packaged. read more

I would give a minus one star if possible. Can't believe they made iced tea in the coffee maker...yuck! Unsweetened for sure...lousy unacceptable after taste. Oh and they ran out of receipt paper so there was no way to give feedback direct to MCD. This franchisee should be scolded by management. read more

I normally don't review fast food joints, but just have to comment that this particular McDonald's is quite lovely. I know it's only because of zoning laws in Freeport that demand they keep the historical architecture but still...it does make you feel a little bit better about eating more than a day's worth of calories in one sitting. It doesn't, however, mean that the chicken nuggets and french fries you just ate won't wreak havoc on your tender stomach lining 2 hours later. Yep...that will still happen! Enjoy! read more

The best looking Mcd's ever. Freeport noise laws made it so that you coudent get sound at drive through for years, Till now! Great for what it is. WI-Fi. When i was 16 I would sneak up the stairs to smoke with friends. I think its reserved for birthdays. Never seems to be used. Go up there for a private meal. read more

I would like to start this off with saying that I love McDonald's. McDonald's is my favorite restaurant. I would do anything for McDonald's. I kid you not, I WOULD DIE FOR MCDONALD'S. I eat McDonald's at least once a week. I have recently gone on a diet to get my summer beach bod (a what-what). I was EXTREMLY disappointed to discover that I could not get one singular chicken nugget. I refuse to get a six peice, or even a four peice, because reheated Chicken Nuggets do not have the beautiful, distinct, amazing, taste of freshly baked chicken nuggets. I will never eat at McDonald's ever again until A, I can order one chicken nugget, or B, I stop my diet. Dear McDonald's, consider yourself a disgrace to the community. read more

This is probably one of the nicest McDonald's I've been to. After a recent shopping trip at LL Bean, we stopped by for a late snack/dinner. The building looks like a colonial house, and the dining room has "real" dining room chairs like the ones in homes, not the fast food restaurant type. The food is typical McD fare. We tried the new buttermilk chicken tenders with the signature sauce, which were pretty good. read more

The portions are pretty decent for the price and the service has always been excellent! They have plenty of seating and parking. They have a bar upstairs and a studio bar downstairs and I believe they still hold live entertainment from time to time. They have a variety of dishes on the menu and specials as well. So something for everyone. And they have 4 BBQ sauces on the table to choose from and I still love their Blueberry BBQ Sauce!! We just found out they do a hot chicken wing challenge!! You get 6 wings to eat in 3 minutes, no drink, dip or sides - once eaten, you have to wait 5 minutes, again with nothing else to cool your mouth down with...if you make it, you get your picture taken and put on the wall and a T-shirt and the wings are free. If you fail, you have to buy the wings. :) We both ordered off the special and tried the Brisket Sloppy....oooh, sooo good. I got mine with an order of Mac-n-Cheese and yum! We also tried their Burnt Ends, again YUM and I had to dunk mine in the Blueberry BBQ Sauce!! My husband had Chili and it was a large bowl and very good. Yes, the portions are decent size and we couldn't finish, but left small room and had cheesecake! Yum!!! So if you're in Freeport, Maine and want to try some BBQ or do the hot chicken wing challenge stop by!!
