Absolutely the worst customer service by an extremely rude manager (Yolanda or Yvonne). Not sure. what her name is exactly, she mumbled it when I asked. This inept employee who believes her position allows her to treat YOUR customers like their patronage isn't needed. Even when I asked to speak to a manager, her employee went to get her and I heard her say "they can wait". After 10 minutes she came to counter and said "who wanted to see me?" I raised my hand because I was behind other customers, she snapped her head insinuating "come to me", she didn't budge. Her inane demeanor proved she's in much need of managerial training. I go there after picking up my grandchildren from school at least three times a week, I don't need or have the time to contend with an inefficient individual. Had an unpleasant experience in the drive thru. The guy taking our order was extremely rude towards us. At first I tried to be understanding, as I know the fast food industry can be stressful at times but the attendant's behavior was extremely uncalled for. I brought this employees attitude to the attention of the "manager "on shift. The manager basically dismissed the employees behavior and stated that they have had several complaints against this particular employee for their tone in voice and rudeness, and that they would once again speak to this individual about their behavior. As seen in the previous reviews, the employees here have a horrible attitude problem and always mess up your order. I suggest skipping this location. read more

Never pull forward when they tell you to! I ordered two breakfast meals and two hash browns. They told me to pull forward in a small yellow space just passed the window where you get your food. I'm in a big truck. The SIX cars that passed me where so close to hitting my truck because of the narrow space they ask you to wait in. After the seventh car that was behind me and had gotten their food I finally went in and asked where my food was and low and behold it was just sitting there getting cold. They had the nerve to say oh we were waiting on the hash browns. Wtf? Those seven cars that passed by didn't get any hash browns? Needless to say I will never pull forward again. I paid $25 for two sausage mc muffin meals which is insane in itself! I went through the drive thru so I didn't have to get out but ended up having to do it anyway. read more

A cheeseburger in a happy meal had a long piece of hair. The hair was melted with the cheese. Across the burger. My daughter realized when she took her last bite it had hair connected to the burger. There seemed to be a lot of tension withing the drew at this McDonald's. The catalyst this tension was clearly the manager. She was not friendly to me and certainly not to the workers. Wouldn't even give one star. Just went threw the drive through and they didn't give me my sauces for any of my meals. After I told her we need the sauce the worker and manager asked me if I was absolutely sure I didn't have the sauces. I said yes and the worker asked if I was sure again. Had me check all my bags to make sure which I did and and the manager lady asked if she could look in my bag like I was lying about a 25 cent sauce. Then she proceeded to rummage through my bag of food. With the whole pandemic going on I feel that was super disgusting and disrespectful she wasn't wearing any gloves. I am a recurring costumer at this location. I was asked if I would like my receipt at first window not thinking that they would mess up my simple order and boy was I wrong I got home to missing my 10piece and when I explained to the manager Maria she was no help what so ever. This particular location is not usually a problem for us when we go in the mornings. However, this morning our coffee tasted horrible. We usually enjoy their coffee. Anyway, when we returned with the receipt mind you, the manager was rude and refused to refund our money because we had discarded the coffee already. Ordered a 20 piece chicken nugget "meal" only to find out that the "cannot" do a meal with a 20 piece at the pick up window (and the digital read of the order did not state anything). So no chance to get a fries along with my meal, unless I was willing to upset the string of cars behind me. Question #1, why didn't you inform me when I ordered that you "can't" offer a meal, including fries and drink with a 20 piece nugget? Question #2, why "can't" you? Is it that you can't or won't? You used to. Now no fries for my long drive home with my meal, which I was craving. One star for the service, but the fries in the past have been cooked with very old oil and were not so good anyway. I just came from the McDonalds in Highland, CA. It was busy and I waited in the line for 16 minutes to order. When I ordered 3 McGriddle breakfast meals at 10:33 they said they stopped taking breakfast orders at 10:30. 3 minutes ago!!! After I waited on them for 16 minutes! This location has got my order wrong so many times and I've had missing items several times. My grandchildren won't be happy but I am NOT going to McDonalds any more. This location has definitely improved. Since they added a second order box, I believe that service has actually put the fast in fast food. The drive thru employees are always friendly with smiles on their faces. I just wish they would bring back the honey bbq tenders because those were my favorite, and the regular tenders with bbq sauce is totally not the same. read more

Ok so I am a proud CNA, MCDonalds says they are giving thank you meals for essential workers... I just really lost my patience after waiting in the drive Thur and people cutting in ... I finally ordered happy meal cheeseburger with just ketchup she asked so no pickle no mustard I said yes also French fries apples and a tropical spite ... then I want a fillet a fish extra tarter sauce and I hesitated really wanted iced coffee but I said out loud better get a water and stick to my diet lol she asked if everything on the screen was correct... and this was my fault I said yes without really looking ...another 10 min to pay and next window food I got bottle water and fish sandwich then happy meal she said thank you I said I still need my sprite she said no you got a water with your happy meal I said I ordered sprite ok can I just pay for one now She said NO you'll have to park ... and that's when I lost patience What I don't have time to wait another 20 as there are already two cars waiting can I just get a sprite ... no you'll have to park .. For those of you who have no sense of history - McDonald's started in this area. The very first one EVER was a few miles from here on E. Street. There's a museum there now. That being said - you'd think that most of the other McD's around the area would have some sense of pride to be working in the area were the craze was born. Survey says... ERNT!!!!!! The food at this McD's is.. well... pretty much what you expect it to be; consistent. I personally find it consistently tasteless, but your mileage may very. And yet for some reason - I MUST have a Double Quarter Pounder with Cheese every so often. What gets this location such a low rating is simple: Customer Service and the ability (or lack thereof) to get my order right. Yes.. I know. McD's is often a teen's first job - and they are usually in a learning mode of some kind whilst working here. But for some reason... a good 70-80% of the time we order from here, no matter if its from the drive through or in the store itself.. they get the darn order WRONG! Most of the time they leave out 1/4 of the order... or give us items we didn't order... or don't pay attention to special instructions (like putting tomatoes on my burger when I ask NOT to put those EVIL, DISGUSTINGLY LARVAL things on my food. And when I or my wife try to correct the order in a polite way, I either get an attitude or blank, vacuous look from either the line worker or the manager. I've been to other McD's over my lifetime (who hasn't?) and received far, FAR better customer service than here...so I can't say its a chain-endemic problem. REALLY, Highland McDonald's ....ramp up your customer service... as it is, I feel you're an embarrassment to Highland. HORRIBLE!! HORRIBLE!! HORRIBLE!! I went today to get something to drink before heading home to Pasadena. They were hanging up balloons in the lobby, when I approached an employee and said, "Hi, I have a child in the car, a young girl, who is mentally retarded and LOVES balloons. Could I get one for her? The employee with a smile said, "No sir, these are decorations." I was a bit SHOCKED and said, "Well, it would be a random act of kindness are your part given the unique situation. The most horrid Mc Donald's ever!!! They hot everything on my order wrong and didn't give me a drink holder with my order with 5 drinks!!! Happy Meals come with a toy right, well I had to remind the staff to give me the 3 toys for our Happy Meals!!! No apple slices available just Go-Gurt and the offered extra fries but didn't own up to that either!!! They have gotten much better in the cleaning department. Looks like the designated person in the play area is actually cleaning in regular intervals. Or maybe I just caught them on a good day. I visit every morning 6am, drive thru staff amazing. My complaint is with the operations. First we are in a major drought and every morning they hose down parking lot and drive thru instead of sweep or blow which would be faster and save water. Does this really need to be done daily!?!? Probably only once a week! Second why are they the only McDonald's to not do the dollar drinks!? Isn't this a company sponsored promotion? I went to this restaurant last night and I took my kids to play in the play place but an employee was rude to me and my family and didn't my kids come in play because he wanted to clean the area so he won't have to do it later and decided to shut the playground at 9pm instead of 10pm . It's been a while since I've written for Yelp. Stephanie and a few other Yelp staffers have sent gentle reminders to 'write more!' The problem with finding places to a review or critique is that at some point you hit a statistical plateau. No matter what I write a 2-star place will stay a 2-star place; similarly, if our tastes match perfectly AND I wouldn't go near a place again you'd still hit that 5-star. Here's where human nature comes into play. I've been to a few dozen places with William R. (Bill R.?) and they've been ho-hum or reasonable or as good as noted reviews. Things have been good. Yelp hasn't failed me. I've eaten well. But, I felt that my few notes on observed quality and over-all goodness would not be grokked by anyone other than ... well, me. Yelp doesn't need more of that. I've built a tolerance. I don't need to write to write nor do I need to review to satisfy myself... Until something powerful and compelling comes along. Such as this McDonald's. My friends, this McDonald's holds those virtues. McDonalds is lucky I have to give at least one star. They are slow and placing an order in the drive thru is nearly impossible. How hard can be to take an order? a number two without onions?
