McDonald's McCrispy with hair included at no extra charge
    Colin M.

Absolutely the worst. I try to avoid this location because the parking is bad, the drive through line is no better, and it's generally sketch. But my daughter wanted one of their McCrispy sandwiches and so I obliged. Brought her sandwich home and she began eating it... until she saw the hair attached to the breading. I used the app's contact feature to reach out to McDonald's and received a response quite quickly. They explained that because the location was a franchise that would forward my information to "the Restaurant Leaders of the restaurant you visited. We are certain that the experience you described will be fully investigated and the appropriate action taken." I guess the "appropriate action" for the Beretania Restaurant Leaders is to do absolutely nothing, because I haven't heard anything in the 10 days since from them regarding the issue of hair in their sandwiches. Disgusted.

The ordering tablet is definitely getting more sophisticated.

Stopped by this familiar branch that I hadn't visited in quite a while, but unfortunately, I wasn't particularly pleased with the experience this time. The behind-the-counter staff seemed rather lackadaisical and were serving customers somewhat half-heartedly. Perhaps they were simply tired after a long day, but attentive and friendly service does make a difference. I was also surprised to find that the chicken nuggets were missing from our child's meal. We had to go back and ask for them, which was certainly an inconvenience. Another thing I noticed was that several people were occupying tables long after finishing their meals, either doing their own thing or simply hanging around. There's certainly nothing wrong with that, but it does make it more difficult for customers who actually want to sit down and eat, especially when seating is limited. That said, I'm sharing this simply as a heads-up to my fellow Yelpers. Future customers may want to be aware of the situation and perhaps adjust their expectations accordingly. Hopefully, this was just an off day and not the norm.

    Dry cheeseburger with no cheese

Disappointed and won't be returning to this location. I placed a mobile order for the Classic Cheeseburger Pack (2 cheeseburgers, 20-piece nuggets, 2 medium fries), a Double Filet-O-Fish, and a Large Dr Pepper. I chose drive-up pickup and parked in the designated spot, checked in, and waited. Several cars came and went while I sat there for 10 minutes, with my daughter napping in the back--so I couldn't easily leave the car to follow up. I tried calling the store. No answer. Eventually, someone came out to deliver food to the car next to mine, so I asked about my order. He went back in, found it, and brought it out. I appreciated that, but the damage was done. The fries were cold and limp, the bag greasy like it had been sitting for a while. When I got home, I noticed the cheeseburgers were labeled "cheeseburger, no American cheese"--so basically just dry meat and bun. Everything was cold. Even the nuggets were sad. This was a frustrating experience from start to finish. I won't be going back to this location.

    McFlurry with Forks

This may be the worst Mcd experience I have to date. Looking through the windows, there was some interesting crowd. So we decided to do the drive thru. We ordered the Mcflurry and a double quarter pounder. When we checked the, they didnt even gave us any utensils for the ice cream. So we asked for some spoons. What was more interesting was the server actually looks confused when we asked for spoons. Anyhow, after she finally figured out we needed utensils for ice cream, she decided to drop us some plastics wrap around paper. Finally after opening the bag, we got 2 forks for ice cream. Kinda funny but not really caz we ended up kinda drinking the ice cream.

I come to this location fairly often. This is actually the McDonald's that I grew up coming to since I was a child. There used to be a lot of homeless people, but I''m glad they got that under control now. I love Happy Meals, mostly for the toys that come with it. This week they had a collab with Crocs. I love Crocs. I had to get one to use as a bag charm. When I went they had three out of the nine. They had number 3, 6 and 7. I bought two happy meals and got numbers 3 and 7. My friend gave me number 1. Woohoo, three charms for my bags. The food is always the same no matter what McDonald's you're at. I have to get it to them that they're always consistent.

Supposed to be apple pie but they gave me Haupia pie!!
    Brenda A.

I ordered a breakfast sandwich and three apple pies. First they said they said they didn't have apple pies and offer Haupia pie. So I said never mind, then they said they do have apple pies. When i took my order they gave me 3 hashbrowns instead of apple pies so i had to drive back and go inside. The gentleman at the front seemed irritated that I was letting him know that my order was wrong. He then said there are no apply pies and offered Haupia, I asked for a refund instead. Then he said they do have it, so I waited about 5 minutes and left with my 3 apple pies or so I thought and sandwich, only to find out once I bit into the pie THAT THEY WERE NOT APPLE! they gave me Haupia pies in apple pie boxes Even though I had rejected their Haupia pies earlier!!

You can see the hair was cooked into the eggs

Got a Portuguese sausage plate. Went home and found a hair in the eggs. Called the makiki mcdonald's number. It rang 50 times then someone cut me off. I called back again and was immediately disconnected. Like someone picked up and hung up. This happened 5 times. I tried to call the corporate office number I got from Google. When they answered all they offered was a medical alert devices. WTF? I could not eat half my breakfast. if Burger King was open earlier I'd never go to McDonalds.

I know what you're thinking, grilled cheese ? Seriously ? Out of the food in Hawaii this is one thing you choose to try for dinner ? And I would say yes every time. This grilled cheese has a special place in my food palette. I have not found another grilled cheese anywhere else in all the places I have been at that replicates this delicious flavor and taste. It was so good that I end up coming back for 4 days straight my stay in Hawaii ! I had the following below: *PATTY - 5/5 - It is the best grilled cheese I have ever had in my life ! It has a nice tasty beef patty, 4 cheeses (Cheddar, Mozzarella, Provolone, American) Caramelized onions, Bacon and Aioli sauce ! It was boasting with flavor ! Bread was soft, cheeses were boasting with flavor, aioli sauce was amazing. I really wish i paired this with their tomato dip ! I can only imagine how much this would've complimented the grilled cheese. The service was exceptional ! The establishment is a small so be sure to eat this on the go or they have small tables set up if you'd like to eat there !

The sandwiches came out quickly, were perfectly toasted, and had so much gooey, melted cheese. All of the toppings worked really well together and made every bite flavorful. Another big plus is that this was one of the few places open late at night, which made it a great option after a long day. The only downside was that it was a little difficult to find an open table since there's limited seating. Other than that, I'd definitely come back and highly recommend it!

She made us feel genuinely welcomed, took great care of us throughout our meal, and was quick, attentive, and friendly the entire time. The burger was flavorful, juicy, and cooked perfectly, while the fries were extra crispy with a delicious garlic flavor that really stood out. Since it's an open-air restaurant, it was a little warm dining at around 1:00 p.m., but that was the only minor downside. Overall, everything was lovely, and Christine's outstanding hospitality made the experience memorable. I would definitely come back!

Walking through it all, we reminisced about the old International Market Center. We started toward the Food Hall, and Debs said that Banzai Burger was good, so we went. The woman working was so nice! I ordered a Waimea burger which has two patties, cheese, sauteed onions, and bacon. It was good and came with some nice crispy fries. Deb ordered a child's meal with two little sliders and fries. We sat facing Kuhio and watched all the different people walking by. It was all very fun because some of them were funny to watch! It's interesting how some of the tourists will not venture outside of Waikiki and would only do so on a tour. Banzai does have some really cold Coronas, so I suggest coming here, sitting back, and watch the world go by! Mahalo Banzai!

I didn't expect much from this small corner diner, but everything turned out real solid! The exterior is especially entrancing, with its bright, rainbow neon sign that glows out the darkness of the night! The hooded interior was clean and followed well with the rainbow theme, especially with its rainbow pastel, title wallpaper. I would also like to compliment the workers, who were very nice and approachable! We ordered the loco moco plate, mixed plate, and saimin. Both plates were very filling and came in huge portions! The plates are for sure a top choice if you want a nice, hearty dinner! I especially enjoyed my loco moco! The saimin was less filling and came in an instant noodle cup. Still yet, it wasn't half bad--and it actually seems like a fairly good piece if you are on a diet or budget; it wasn't as expensive as the other dishes and only came out as 220 calories! I also want to note that they have a variety of tasty dessert pastries and icee treats if you are looking for a treat after your dinner. Overall, I would say this is a great diner to try if you've got a big appetite and are looking for something to share with a friend or family! Great vibes and great Hawaiian plate meals!

And we just can't go here anymore unless changes are made! We used to prefer them over Zippy's, but now they are less than 7-Eleven quality, while charging higher-end prices for the neighborhood. We have given them many chances, hoping it was just a fluke, but we have repeatedly been disappointed. Their chicken has become chewy and fatty, their rice is mediocre, and condiments such as mayonnaise are stripped down to the bare minimum quantity. Chile is poured so lightly that it is practically a minuscule amount. And their prices have continued to rise. I don't know if greedy people took over the restaurant who just don't care anymore, or what is going on. I remember when I used to take people here, and they would be impressed with the quality and quantity--plates just heaping with good cuts of meat, noodles, and rice. Those days are no more. As they say in Japan, the price performance is poor. Furthermore, their staff is rude. I can only imagine it was an owner working this day because it was a face I haven't seen that often. An older gentleman who appeared to be of Okinawan descent, working the cashier register, accosted us because I was privately discussing with my family about splitting different items with them. We were all ordering something, so he wasn't losing any money, but he told us about how prices are double in Waikīkī. First of all, it is rude to interrupt your customers that way. Secondly, we don't go to Waikīkī or care about Waikīkī. What happened to serving the locals? Third, Waikīkī has an assortment of restaurants, prices, and qualities, and they shouldn't be how you base your services. Lastly, I guarantee I could find a better deal in Waikīkī if I wanted to. Next time you're in the area, just go get a $6 bento or a $5 burrito from 7-Eleven next door. I assure you, the price performance and experience will be better. If Rainbow Drive-In is in the business of comparing themselves to other things, let's compare them to 7-Eleven and at least try to be better than them, right? I can get mochiko chicken from 7-Eleven for $6.99 that is similar in portion size and better quality. Meanwhile, they are serving their fatty, dry chicken for $16.75. Highway robbery! And they are not fancy, with their dirty picnic tables and plastic cutlery. They are just a step above a food truck, if that. Save yourself from the hype. They have gone downhill like a landslide. Go elsewhere.
