Fast food restaurants have become increasingly one of the worst businesses that you can shop. They don't want any more interaction with staff. In fact, when you walk in you're supposed to put all your information order name into a kiosk. Prices don't go down but interaction goes way down. Instead of going to the kiosk, I want to the counter. An individual wearing a black manager shirt named Christine was about as pleasant as a rock. I will never go to another McDonald's again. All I wanted was a quick breakfast to hit the road and it was irritating, rude and more of an inconvenience.

Food was amazing and the pancakes were warm, KitKat banana McFlurry tastes good but no banana taste. Service was good and ambiance is good some tables and seats were dirty. Came here for breakfast

Wow, a nice thick forward thinking paper straw. Not like those thin flaccid ones! Lol

Solid expression of a McDonald's. Probably been here a dozen times over the years with no issues to report yet. Usually pretty expeditious. Friendly. Likely my favorite McDonald's in the Keys though they're usually about an hour either way north or south from wherever I am.

This McDonald's is one place that Covid-19 has ruined. It's now strictly drive-through, pick-up, or take out. There is no indoor seating....none! It's one that is built for hurricane protection so it is constructed atop a high earthen mound. Seems good, but if you're handicapped like me, you've got some climbing and maneuvering to do to get in and out of the place. I won't comment on the food. It's McDonald's and most know what it is like and very much the same in the USA all over. But for now, unless you love eating while standing up or in your car, not recommended.

Officially the worst McDonald's I have been to. Where is management?.... I counted 4 employees standing around while I sat in the drive thru waiting for my food.... which took too long. My chocolate shake was given to me vanilla with "chocolate streaks," then I was told it was chocolate. But then the drive thru window shut in my face. Eventually when the employee came back with our food, I told them it wasn't chocolate.... they then told me they were all out of chocolate syrup. Where is the communication? I would have ordered vanilla, if I wanted vanilla.... Also our fries were cold, soggy, and had no salt on them... (maybe they were out of salt?) Oh and our McDoubles did not come with pickles... 1 Star for giving my money back for the shake

Fries thrown into bag upside down.

The person who took my order was nice . I get the the window to pay and the kid doesn't say hello or anything just shoved the card reader out of the window . I asked if it went through after I removed my card and no response. He gives me my receipt. I then check my food and as seen in the pictures is a mess . I understand people have rough days I've worked fast food before but to make me remake my own damn sandwich?

This is a dependable stop for a quick early morning breakfast sandwich on the drive out of the Keys. We have a long drive ahead so it's nice to use the app and just drive thru, pick up and go.

Absolutely horrifying place. As many have commented here before, the place is nowhere near McDonald's standards. The parts of the kitchen that can be seen from the public areas are absolutely filthy. There were more employees than customers, and yet our food took close to 30 minutes to come out. When we asked about our two missing iced lattes, the only employee at the front told us, while looking at the clouds doing nothing, to ask the other employee who was inside at the back of the kitchen. In the end, our two iced lattes took exactly 45 minutes to be prepared. They were out of coke (!?). They were out of smoothies, frappes and ice cream. Several people came into the restaurant and left after seeing the chaos. I complained to the manager, who replied that he didn't know what was going on because he had just gotten there. Everyone working there was very young and clearly inexperienced, which is completely fine, but they need extensive training and some form of leadership to do their job properly. Management has absolutely failed the employees at this place. McDonald's needs to take away their franchise rights.

It's legitimately one of the oldest continuously operating restaurants in the Florida Keys, which gives it a lot of built-in credibility before you even sit down. Walking up to it, you feel that history. The exterior, the gravel lot, the signage--it's pure roadside Keys. Inside, it leans into that "local bar meets tourist stop" vibe: long wooden bar, TVs, stickers everywhere, taps lined up. Then you open the menu and it pivots in every direction--New England chowder house, BBQ joint, burger shack, seafood spot. It's not clear what it wants to be, and that lack of focus carries straight through to the food. We started with both chowders. The clam chowder looks right at first glance, but the texture tells you everything--thick, almost gluey, clearly roux-heavy. The flavor leans aggressively fatty, closer to margarine than butter, with very little clam presence. No briny backbone, no pepper, no lift. We ended up dumping in black pepper and hot sauce just to make it remotely acceptable--but even then, that heavy fat note kept pushing through. Nothing about it reads as New England. The conch chowder fares a bit better. You can actually see a decent amount of conch, and there's a peppery edge that helps. But the broth is thin and lacks the chunky, stewed tomato depth you expect from a proper Keys-style conch chowder. After having it done right earlier at Key Largo Fisheries, the difference was obvious. Then there are the Texas Twinkies--and the photo really says it all. On paper, this should work: jalapeños wrapped in bacon, stuffed with brisket, pulled pork, cheeses, and sauce. In execution, it's just too much. Too much cream cheese, too many competing sauces, meats chopped into a soft, indistinct filling. It collapses into a heavy, muddy bite that feels more overwhelming than satisfying. Looking back at the menu, the simpler move--burger, ribs, even wings--probably would have been the right call. Instead, we ordered straight into the identity crisis. And that theory held up. We went back and grabbed a burger later--cooked a proper medium rare, with well-done, crispy fries--and it was easily the best thing we had from them. I wanted to like Herbie's. There's history, personality, and clearly a loyal following. But between the confused concept and uneven execution, the move here is simple: stick to the basics.

Tuna tartare - the sesame sauce wasn't my favorite, but the tuna was fresh and tender. Coconut Shrimp - HUGE shrimp, nice toasty coconut crust, and the sweet chili sauce was a great compliment. 1/2 lb Peel and Eat Shrimp - these were served with butter, cocktail sauce, lemon, and a little cup of add-it-if-you-want cajun seasoning. I tried them all and loved the options. Bacon-wrapped Scallops - these were fantastic!! Super crunchy bacon on the outside, perfectly cooked scallops on the inside. Buffalo Chicken Wings - these had really good flavor, but the skins were a bit tough. Sparky's will be our very first stop on our next stay in the Keys.

It was still nice scenery while we waited for our food though. I ordered ceviche to start us off as our appetizer and it was really good. My dinner was a pasta dish with shrimp and scallops. The sauce was supposed to be a white cream sauce but it was really runny. Even adding extra Parmesan cheese to it didn't help thicken it. It tasted ok. Not my best pick. Our favorites were the conch fritters, which were delicious, and the Angus cheeseburger, which was honestly the best thing we ordered. The mussels were also excellent and full of flavor. The shrimp ceviche was decent, but it could have used a little more seasoning, citrus, or zest. It felt a bit dry and didn't have the bright, fresh flavor I was expecting. The seafood platter was the biggest disappointment, especially considering the price. The mahi was under seasoned, and the texture wasn't enjoyable. The crab cakes had a fishy taste, and while the scallops were just okay, the shrimp was actually very good. The sweet potato side was delicious, but overall the platter didn't feel like a good value for what was served. Overall, despite a few misses, this was still the best dining experience we had in the Keys. The service was good, and there were enough standout dishes that we'd come back. I'd recommend sticking with the conch fritters, mussels, Angus cheeseburger, and shrimp.
