Stopped here for a late lunch. One of the cleanest and friendliest McDonald's I've been to. The food was prepared correctly and fast. Even ordered hot fudge sundaes with extra hot fudge and got it. They weren't cheap about it too! Will definitely be back at some point. read more

Went there on Aug 1, 20022 @ 6:43PPM drive-thru. First off, could barely hear the girl taking the order thru the drive-thru speaker, I ordered one of the 'specials' that was on the menu, the price on the menu was listed as $3.99, but she rang it up at full price, I kept telling her thru the speaker that the price was not right, but she quickly hid on the menu board and told me to drive up. I waited at the menu board, and she finally brought it back up and put the correct price on it. So I pull up to the cashier window, handed her the money, and she tried to short-change me. She kept trying to hand me the wrong change but I wouldn't take it, I insisted that she give me the correct change but she already shut the drawer on the cash register. well, that's when she learned how to talk, she copped a big ole attitude, went back and got the (what I am assume was) the manager (him too, he looked absolutely disgusting. He was dirty and I could smell him from the drive-thru window) He did something and opened the register, and she handed me the correct change, but then she started throwing a hissy fit that she didn't have any nickles. I got home and there was no receipt otherwise I would have posted her name and the manager's name here. Got home, and the food was cold and soggy. But for $3.99 at McDonald's, you get what you pay for. A cashier with an attitude that short-changes you and a 'manager that looks and smells disgusting. read more

I came for a quick late night snack one evening and although the ordering of my food was quick I waited in the drive through for a while. The store could use some TLC on the outside and maintenance but overall it was your typical McDonald's. My one true disappointment was the chicken nugget sauce selection... They have the basics but that's it. I feel part of the experience is all of the choices in sauces! Somehow it helps justify the over priced foods for me haha. My chicken nuggets were hot but seemed over fried but my French fries were PERFECT!- Hot, lightly salted and the perfect crunch. First I love McD for both the food and consistency, which is why I was gobsmacked when I pulled up to the drive thru to get a coke and they told us they were out of large cups and could only give us medium cups. Not a big deal; shit happens, even at McD. As we were paying though, we asked what the price difference is between a medium and a large as was told they are the SAME. So we asked for large drinks, received half what we wanted and paid the same $$. Pretty stupid to have customers drive away feeling like they got a screwed over a little bubbly water. Just went there on our way home to highland. Told the girl at the window I need ketchup. They pulled us to the side and brought us the bag. Of course no ketchup. My husband got out the car and walked up for ketchup. We got a Big Mac meal medium fries and coke and a quarter pounder deluxe. I checked the bag it seemed to be ok. When we got home there was no lettuce and no tomato on my deluxe. And we paid 11$ for this meal. Mc Donald gets more and more expensive. read more

Close to thruway which is convenient if you are passing through. Slower service than we're used to expecting from McDonald's. Everyone behind the counter seemed to be new and confused. Also unusual to need to ask for refills from main counter instead of self serve. read more

The best McDonald's I have ever been to, their food is great, drive-thru employees are always absolutely the best.

Let's start this review off on a good note: I got my order. However, what I had to go through in tonight's order was just so interesting I couldn't help but write a review about it. I had known about this McDonalds since other drives past this location last May but hadn't had a chance to stop in. But who'd want to? With all the other McDonald's around changing to a new "upbeat" design with all new self-service kiosks inside, somethings wrong at the beginning. When I got inside, things turned from bad to worse. They told me that, although the menu board mentioned the upcoming availability of Shamrock Shakes, they told me they didn't have the mix yet and that wasn't a possibility. But after I started the order, I ended up changing it due to this and after paying, I was sent on my way. The employee told me they'd bring me my food out to me, but I'm glad I sat on the benches near the booths, because no food was being brought out to the customers (they were calling people by receipt number - no pager was used unlike all the others as well). It took at least 20 minutes for my order to be ready and was sitting up at the counter waiting to be collected, as just as I noticed it, the employee was about to call my number. I went ahead with my tray and sat down, forgetting to grab straws and ketchup (I had unsalted fries, so I needed ketchup for taste.). But throughout the time I sat down and conversed with someone else about their recent food experiences here, my eyes caught note of the ketchup case - it was sitting in the direct sunlight over in one of the corners I would never had seen at first sight. Then my eyes focused on the door. I was amazed how at least they tried to keep extra straws near the door in the special McDonald's straw holder. But that's when I noticed something else that seemed rather odd to me. This location still has a McDonalds Playland - that's so 1990s to me! I didn't notice a door into the Playplace, but I guess that if I had children that saw the need, I could have asked - but I digressed when I knew I didn't have any kids in-tow! I finished eating a few moments later and had to use the bathroom. But this too, was not up to street-standards. I got bonked on the back when I stood at the urinal having gotten hit by the door on my back. This place is so - not worth it! But I guess it's better than nothing. A place to keep in mind, where the reader should have the knowledge behind others' experiences - and that's apparently one of the reasons why you came here to Yelp. On my drive out, I almost forgot. I noticed how even the drive-thru wasn't up to design patterns of common day. However, I didn't use this part of the system, so I have to leave that information go. Maybe in time, this will all be straightened out. I will be hopeful that it should, because I know McDonald's general ways of looking at negative feedback in "new light". read more

Stopped with my daughter and her friends for food on our way to a concert. Girls wanted to play in the playland. Manager went in and told them to get out and they're not allowed to be in there that they were to old not knowing their ages. Girls are actually of age to use the playland. Manager was rude. The employees working at this McDonald's are a delight. I have had nothing but excellent service. They are always smiling and extremely courteous! I have never had a problem with my food, either. I normally wouldn't review a McDonald's, but this location is phenomenal. All of my friends who visit tell me the service is better than most! Management is clearly doing a good job. read more

I got seriously sick from this place on more than one occasion!!! Last night was the second time I was up all night until 7 am throwing up. I had called the store the first time this happened and they showed no remorse or concern. They told me to come in and fill out an incident report and that they couldn't do anything about it. Any time I've gone during the day it was not a problem. Well, except the usual fast food flaws. But both times I went was 9pm and 1230am. I don't know why but they must let the food sit for a period of time at night! This is extremely unsafe and unprofessional. I hope they get shut down. read more

I WOULD NOT recommend the McDonald's located at 261 Main Street, New Paltz, New York, zip code:12561. This McDonald's is located on Route 299, near the New Paltz Plaza shopping center, and is the only McDonald's in New Paltz. I have had many problems with custom-made orders (adding or deleting an item from a sandwich). Also, burgers have been too well done and the buns are occasionally on the stale side, especially if you are going late in the day, after dinner time. They are supposed to give napkins with a take-out orders, but often omit them. Management there is not very helpful. If you are not satisfied with an item or items, they will not reimburse you in any way. They will not give you a coupon for a free meal (which the manager does have, even though they often will not admit it) and they definitely will not refund the purchase price if not satisfied! Pretty tacky for an establishment that is the world leader in the Fast Food Industry! I would recommend the Burger King located on Route 9W in Highland, New York if you are looking for good fast food and cooperative management. read more
