It is clean, and the food is prepared to reasonable expectations, which is why it receives two stars instead of one, but if Ray Kroc were alive today and walked into this one, this would be a store that would receive an immediate makeover. This McDonald's needs some help. First,...The Kiosk order system for customers is confusing and agitated the hell out of me and the 20 people standing in line waiting their turn. I just drove 6 hours across waste land hell. I need something to eat, drink and to use the restroom. The last damn thing I want is to see three registers that have signs on them that read "Out Of Order" then have to fight with a touch screen doing your job only to get the wrong thing I thought I ordered in the first place. This led to frustration by me and the back up of customers in front and in behind me. Second: Your men's restroom had two out of order urinals and one working toilet. Horrific smell. My son refused to stay and walked next door to Arby's, used their restroom and ordered food there. On our next return trip the family will do the same. Get your act together Raton!!! read more

Owner keeps key to toilet paper dispenser at his home so staff routinely puts the wheel of toilet paper on dispenser where the roll falls to the floor only to get kicked across it multiple times. Evidently, the owner counts the toilet paper wheels and holds employees accountable for "missing" rolls which is why the owner keeps the key at home. If you value good hygiene...bring your own tissue otherwise this McDonald's is a urinary tract infection waiting to happen. read more

This place is huge. Their is a lot of people here. The lines were crowed making me use the automated machine to order my food.

We make an annual trek from Colorado to Texas and this McDonalds... this McDonald's was a blessed break from driving with their play area. We would stop for dinner and let the kids run around an hour or so then pack back in for the long haul through the night. We stopped both directions again this trip and they have replaced the kids play area with a larger outdoor eating area with just tables... we played tag and danced around abit, but it really is a few fenced in tables. Plus the tiles are very slippery and not very good to play/run on in the rain or snow, so we had them play inside where we had to endure the glares of older people. Staff were courteous and didn't yell at our noisy kids, but the bathrooms on the way down to Texas were uncleaned and filthty with tobacco spit in the sink and toilet (and around the toilet). Service seems slower than other McDonald's, but maybe it was just busy at times we went through. Still, they should staff enough to keep the food going and bathrooms clean. Anyway, be aware this no longer has a play area... consider Sand's further down the street. read more

Beyond frustrated with this McDonald's- I would say drive the extra 5-10 minutes to another one. First off half of the machines that were SUPPOSE to make the orders faster were broken. My family and I proceeded to wait over 25 minutes in line to pay because there was only one person at the cashier. SLOW SLOW SLOW!!! Came in around 12:30 on a Monday (04/02/18) so I was expecting it to be busy with the lunch crowd. Line was a little long so we tried the touch screen kiosk. The time on the receipt said 12:37. We didn't get our food until 1:04. 27 MINUTES LATER!!! There were only two of us that ordered. My first bite was into a cold french fry! Didn't even get our drink cups while waiting. The drink area was also filthy with soda all over the place with straw wrappers, lids and a long nasty hair! I ordered the Grand Bic Mac meal. When the employee brought our food she said "We don't offer that anymore. It shouldn't even be on the kiosk." Only about a .50 cent difference so not a huge deal, but she offered us a free pie or ice cream. She told us to see her before we leave. Told her to just bring it now and we never saw her again. I wasn't going to wait around for it as we were already there way too long. At no time during our visit were more people eating than waiting! Looking through the window, the drive through didn't seem to be doing any better. Watched a few cars turn around and leave. I realize this is a small town, but I've been to McDonalds with way more volume and never experienced this type of service. Ok so this place has been nicely updated (still not liking the touch screen ordering technique, but that's my opinion) and I have to say this was the WORST McDonald's I have ever been too. In Albuquerque, I go to the biggest dump in the worst location and they have the best staff and the best food. This place is like wow when you come in and then like ow when you get your food. I had not ONE, but two double cheeseburgers burned on the inside... (all I can think is it's really hard to burn a burger). So due to the fact that I was painfully hungry, I ate these un-appetizing burgers and decided two seconds into it that I would never eat here again in my lifetime. I more than likely will have my own children and go through raton and tell them that they will never eat there a day in their lives as long as their with me. This McDonalds is really busy because it's one of the limited food options just off the interstate at the NM/CO border. The food was okay, the staff was efficient but spent way too much time and effort laughing and joking with each other--no really attention to the customers. I'm not sure why I stop at McDonald's, but I did the other day and the Raton location is a joke. The side salad was horrible, almost gross to even look at.
