(LOVE) since they have breakfast all day now, (YAY) I usually get this. love getting some bacon n eggs to go so I don't need to worry about rushing back. their sandwich is comparable to Starbuck's Double Smoked Bacon, Cheddar n Egg Sandwich. their's is a bit bigger but also $5 for just the sandwich. I can't really taste the difference. Drive-Thru Review Been through this drive thru so many times with "crappy to rude to they shouldnt even work at mcd" service received every single time. most of them don't even acknowledge your presence, esp when they're too busy texting on their phone. RUDE! They always half-a$$ you on your fries omg so annoying. :( Hmm my favorite out of all of the crappy-rude- service was when I ordered: 1 medium coke, 1 medium fries and an extra charge for their sweet&sour sauce. Ive worked in this area for 5 years now and have had more bad experiences at this location than i can clearly remember. Ive been made to wait for fresh fries to be made just to watch the cook pour the salty burnt cold remnants of prior batches into my tray to make room for his new batch. The last two times my order was taken and paid for and both times after half hour waits they didnt even make my food. Also both times i attempted to contact their corporate and received no response. I live in the area. Over the years the service has gone down the drain. They recently did a renovation. It looks nice ,but the service is horrible. They installed 2 of the self serve machince which probably explains the service you get now. They are very rude and short with you. I have been a loyal McDonald's fan for as long as I can remember. Those hot crispy salty fries and delectable chicken nuggets. Nothing better! Starving while seeking out the nearest McDonald's, I was a little dubious about this one because of the Yelp reviews. Long waits and mixed up orders? That did not sound pleasant at all. Luckily the wait wasn't too bad. It took less than 10 minutes from order to exit. However there were other issues. (-) At the pickup window, I was asked whether I had ordered two double cheeseburgers. I hadn't. Huh? (-) The fries got cold pretty quickly. :( (-) The cup top broke off my mocha frappe. As you can imagine, it got everywhere. You KNOW it's bad when I didn't even remember to check in! I must have been distracted from cleaning up all the mess while trying to park and the cold ass fries. TIP: It could be worse. But it could also be better. Have always received good service here. On the most recent visit though, the sausage mcgriddle tasted like it had been made some time before - very dry and unappetizing. Got my random Mickey D's fix this past weekend cuz I was craving some chicken mcnuggets! This was the first McDonald's I've been to that has 2 drive-thru lines, which I think is quite efficient. Booo!! The only reason I ever went here was if I was pressed for time, as it's not far from where I live. I have started boycotting this location - every.single.time I have gone here, there is an error with my order: I order nuggets and never get the sauce I ask for. I ask for a Sweet Tea and get Hi C (Fruit Punch). My fries were uncooked in the middle. I try to avail myself of their two for $1 Cherry Pie deal, only to be told they don't have any more (I guess they only have one per day in stock?) Plus, don't get me started on the customer (dis)service attitude. Would it kill you to crack a smile? If a customer has a question that you don't understand, try responding with "Excuse me, would you please repeat that?", not "What?" That is, when you can understand the cashier and they're not mumbling or speaking some sort of incomprehensible hybrid of languages. Also, why bother having a double drive-thru when, more often than not, one of the lanes is unusable? I've started going to the one at Blossom Hill and Meridian, in the old Mervyn's shopping center. I haven't ever reviewed a McDonald's as I usually only go there for a Diet Coke. I feel compelled to mention this one because it is the main one on my way home from work and there is one frustration I have with it. Many McDonald's have installed double drive-thru lanes to reduce congestion, allow entry from two directions when needed, and get orders into the system quicker. You are still served in the same order, but it is much smoother. I have NEVER seen this McDonald's actually use the lane when it is needed. It always has a cone blocking one of the lanes. As a result, the cars line up into the parking lot blocking traffic. Other drivers going to the other establishments get frustrated as they cannot get by. And since the service at this particular location is generally on the slow side, they should do whatever they can to speed things up. That's it. I wish I could give 1/2 star to this location. Avoid at all costs - might be better to skip a meal than to dine here. I went in with both of my kids for dinner at this location. Cashier: Andy I ordered a Big Mac, Large Fries, Frap Mocha, 20 piece McNuggets, 2 x McChicken Deluxe, Peppermint Hot Chocolate. The cashier's name was Andy - he did not repeat my order, but I didn't think too much of it. While we were eating, I told my son he should not have ordered a medium fries since I ordered a large fries. My son said he had not ordered fries. I looked at the ticket and I had been charged for a Big Mac Meal. I went back to the cashier and told him that he had charged me for a meal when I had only ordered a Big Mac. He did not apologize, but asked me if I wanted a refund. I looked at the difference, which was about $2, and I told him he can just give me a chicken snack wrap and I didn't need a refund. I went back and we continued to eat our meal. No snack wrap - so I asked my son to check. He came back and told me that he was told that he cannot get one and was told that we should have informed them of the mistake right away. I went back and spoke to Andy, and he very bluntly told me that they cannot do anything unless we inform them of the mistake right away while picking up the food. I asked to speak with the manager, and he hesitated and then told me she was not in, and her name was Annie. He also said that sine I got the medium fries, they cannot give me a refund. I ordered a snack wrap and paid for it. I then went back to my table, and collected the medium fries and went back to the counter and told them that they can have the medium fries back and I needed a refund for the difference. Andy again did not apologize, and called another person. This person now told me that I cannot get any refund since I was given a drink. I was not given a drink - and I had to tell him that he can go to my table where my son and daughter were eating. There was no drink on the table - how could there be, they never gave me one. He then reluctantly fumbled with the cash register and gave me $1.15 back. At this point, I was already fuming with rage. I was shocked that they couldn't do a simple calculation between a Big Mac and a Big Mac meal to know that the difference was $1.90. I told him that the amount was incorrect. Again after some fumbling, he gave me my $1.90. Not a single apology. No acknowledgement of their mistake. Further they had the audacity to put the blame on a customer. I am hoping that McDonalds corporate office does something with regards to the customer service of this location. I have been extremely upset and unless I hear back from McDonalds - I am likely to tell my story to as many people in the local community and other online sources. I checked yelp and it had a number of negative customer stories there too. I hope that the corporate office takes some steps towards the staff and makes sure that they get the necessary customer service training. So, the first review of 2012 for this place...let's just say, the is restaurant lacking worse now, more than ever before. It's almost safe to say that this is the owner's "problem child" store, one of which he cares absolutely nothing about. Tonight, approximately at 11:15 pm, there were three vehicles in the left drive-thru lane (of course, as mentioned in an earlier post, the right lane is always closed), and I was the #2 vehicle. It took precisely 14 minutes to enter the drive thru lane, COMMAND the attention of the guy working the headset, pull around to the #1 window for payment, and pick up the food. Now, for the food: the quality this time was absolutely the worst I have ever had at any McDonald's restaurant. The fries were cold upon exiting the parking lot, and when I got home not five minutes later, as I unwrapped the two double cheeseburgers, I found BOTH buns on BOTH burgers to be as stale as loaves of bread in a seven-eleven store in mexico city. I have seen this place go downhill ever since moving to the area around three years ago. I have no idea why I continue to patronize this store. Tonight was the last straw. The franchise owner needs to do everyone a favor and either turn this store around, or get the he*l out of the fast food restaurant industry. Thanks for taking the time to read this review. I believe there's been a major overhaul at this location. I was surprised by the friendliness of the staff and their insistence of preparing made to order food. Everything came out hot, fresh and tasty. Also, a wonderful thing I noticed is that they actually grill their burgers. The first McDonald's that I've seen do that. A big plus for me. This McDonald's is probably the cleanest in the entire South San Jose area. Yes, there are issues with homeless hanging around the parking lot, but for the most part this establishment is well staffed and inside is kept clean. Employees and management are friendly and respectful despite many of the rude/disrespectful customers they deal with on a daily basis. Since the beginning of the COVID19 shelter-in-place I've been coming here every morning for coffee instead of waiting in line at the Starbuck's drive-through across the street. All of the employees at this McDonalds greet the customers coming into the place with a smile. read more

OK. I went there for breakfast because I was in a pinch. I ordered the oatmeal (no fruit) and a coffee. The oatmeal came with cold water and for some reason the oatmeal did not get soft, I wonder why. I took it back and told them that it was cold. My next oatmeal came with lukewarm water. The oatmeal still would not get soft. I took the oatmeal back and told them that making instant oatmeal should not be this difficult. I left it on the counter and told them that I didn't have time (which I didn't) to wait for another try. It's instant oatmeal for crying out loud. Do they not have hot water? The staff who work here are not inclined to solve problems. I placed an order on the McDonald's mobile app. I arrived a few minutes later, went to the drive-thru and indicated "I'm already here" on the app. The app wouldn't recognize that I was at the location, but told me to give my order number. I provided this number to the person taking orders at the drive-thru. He said he couldn't find it. He instructed me to drive to the second window to talk to someone. A woman, who I believe to be a supervisor, told me there was nothing they could do. Actually, there was something they could have done. They could have asked me to tell them what I ordered, prepare it, have me pay for it and cancel the order on the app, because the payment doesn't go through until it's sent to the restaurant. I have a feeling their transponder was turned off. I left the drive-thru, canceled my order and placed another order at another McDonald's a mile away. I went there, indicated "I'm already here" and the order was put through. This means there wasn't anything wrong with the app. It was the reastaurant. How many more customers is 4800 Almaden Expressway going to have to lose before they figure out how to solve the problem of receiving app orders? read more

She didn't say anything when I pulled up to the speaker so I didn't know if it was working. I waited for several minutes before I heard her voice say "are you gonna order?"
