I am saddened to have to leave such an awful review of a usually consistent/huge and well-loved company that is universally known.... McDonald's. We came in tonight at 7:30pm.. a quiet Sunday evening in Truckee ,Ca. First off, the bathrooms were disgusting and a complete mess. No toilet paper, feces in the stall garbage can??!!! and just dirty everywhere. I ordered a regular hamburger, big Mac, McChicken , small fry, coffee and vanilla shake. The big Mac had paper thin and very!! dry meat, the cheese was not melted.. Same from the chicken. The chicken patty tasted hours old ,was cold and very very dry. Ugh. Really?? Small fry was TINY . The only saving grace was our vanilla shake and coffee. Thank goodness those were the standard! For just over $20 , I was so upset leaving there having had the worst McDonald's food ( and higher priced than most) we've ever eaten in our lives. Not kidding nor exaggerating. It was awful :( :( So bummed.. Needless to say we will not be back at this particular location ever again. It was not only dirty but the food was the worst :( read more

We frequent this McDonalds a couple times a month since my little kids love getting a happy meal but that is all we usually order. The fries are always cold and flavorless (except for one time) and we always go during lunch time when there is a good amount of people there hence food should be fresh. They constantly get our order wrong and either don't give us condiments even when we ask multiple time or just give us the wrong ones. I have found better service going in to the restaurant but that isn't easy with two little kids. The drive thru workers tend to always sound pissed off when taking your order or will say order when ready and then just won't listen to you and tell you to wait. We will continue to go back as the quality of food doesn't seem to bother my kids but don't expect anything special here. read more

The girl that took my order at the drive thru was RUDE! And gave me attitude cause she couldn't hear my order. Pulled up to the first window and she was sticking her head out the window and told me that I should have informed her I was using a mobile code. If she had better customer service, they are TRAINED to ask the customer if they are using a mobile code. read more

If the door says 7am, I expect McDonalds to open at 7am. We were told at drive thru (drive thru signs says drive thru opens at 6am) that the sit down area and restrooms open at 8am. They need to update their door signs and yelp info with the correct hours so that people aren't standing outside waiting to be let in. read more

Just went through this drive through and ordered a chicken nuggets meal, upon driving away I discover that I was given a chicken sandwich and no ketchup or other sauces requested. Sweet tea is also regular tea. The chicken sandwich also tastes burnt like the grease needs changed. read more

Tried to take my friends kid here for a quick drive through order. The Associate answering the drive through window was so exceptionally rude to me that I refused to complete my order. I know it was intense for her as I was being super friendly and polite, just trying to ask for a chicken sandwich, plain with cheese for the kid. She was so short and curt with me I was shocked. I live here locally, I am not a "Karen", just a regular local trying to order a kids lunch. I was able to speak to the Manager who was friendly and polite. She thanked me for my comments. Showed up with a pocket full of change I found in my world van. Trying to count nickels, dimes and pennies so that I can eat. The young lady behind the counter was very nice and saved me from further embarrassment. If I could give a negative number I would. Ordered 2 mcChickens, large fry, large drink and a #5 medium. Got our order and no McChicken...at the price of the order it never occurred to me that my order was rung up wrong, though it was repeated back to me correctly. So when we noticed it was incorrect I went to the kiosk and ordered the missing items because it had gotten busy. Fries were unsalted and cold, nuggets were cold and now we had to wait for our sandwiches to be delivered. We ended up having to walk up to the register to get items that were supposed to be delivered only to receive Luke warm sandwiches. While eating I our disgusting food I went to ask the managers name and the register person did not want to give it to me. How dare the cashier assume because of my skin color I don't speak Spanish. While here we noticed 2 of 3 exits are blocked by trash cans and when a customer ask them not to block them because it was against fire code they argued with them. And the staff wants $19 an hour to make crappy food and violate safety code. Needless to say we won't be back. read more

Everything was terrible there ! - there was one Mexican lady who worked there that was nice to try to fix our order that was like behind 17 other orders- but we waited forever for our food and there was two young guys upfront actually three young guys, one actually working putting food on bags, other two standing around, speaking Spanish? one was I don't know if he was just trying to keep things going? But there's another guy that had a blue shirt on young Mexican man and he was super rude to me, saying why are you looking at me? He repeated like 5 times very aggressive! I didn't say anything. We're just waiting for the food and it took forever and it was very slow and we ended up not eating our food at all, but being charged, we just felt bad. I was crying when I left. Atmosphere - Very modern McDonald's and looked great. Food Drink - Mocha, wow was it sweet. Perhaps I drink too much black coffee now. Breakfast - My McDonald's downfall is the Egg McMuffin with Sausage, I had two. Probably the best ones I ever had. The English muffins were fresh and toasted with a crisp insides. The sausage patty had the mild spice but was still moist. The egg was cooked well. The sandwich, each part was excellent, together was poorly made into a sandwich. But boy it did hit the spot. Service - What you expect from McDonald's. The register area could have been cleaner. Someone was rude and did their creamers and sugars right where they provide you with your food but the staff did not take care of the problem. Future - Sure but hope not to. read more

Worst customer service ever! It was super hot in Truckee on the afternoon of July 25th. We walked up to the counter and asked how much their sundaes were and the (male) worker said in a super snarky tone, "We don't have any today." I said, "Ice cream? You don't have ice cream?" He said with this gnarly grin, "no, not today." Then in a sarcastic tone, "Can I get you something else?" I looked at him and said, "NOPE." Could he have said that with an apologetic tone and nicely stated what happened to their machine, or some simple, CONSIDERATE explanation why on a HOT day in Truckee-Tahoe they wouldn't have ICE CREAM? Nope. They need serious training in customer service. So simple just to be polite...! Drive thru experience went smoothly and fast. No complaints. Ordered the 20 piece chicken nuggets for $5. They were warm and super crispy! Gave us ranch dressings. One sweet and sour which is my favorite. And asked for bbq which they gave us too. Staff was neutral. read more

Stopped on our way to Carson. There was a lady leaving the mens bathroom after cleaning it. My husband didn't see the sign and started to walk in. She told him no no no it's closed. He said oh sorry I didn't see anything. She said "read the fucking sign ". He said did you just curse at me? She got flustered and said no I said fricken. He said you don't talk to customers like that. He went to the front and asked for a manager. The manager didn't speak English but got a translator and said she's cleaning still. My husband told her okay but she doesn't get to curse at customers If I was white this wouldn't be acceptable. The manager had someone go get the cleaning lady and took her in back for a minute then she back to work. No one at McDonald's apologized. A customer overheard it and apologized. My husband thanked the customer but told her it wasn't her fault but he appreciated it. read more

They are now serving the new snoopy toys in their happy meals. The color scheme is very trendy. They had a wood print on the back of a wall. The bathroom doors are printed also. The bathroom was an issue for me. They had sensors, but they didn't work. I know it wasn't I didn't know how to use it, there were multiple signs that said don't forget to flush. That wasn't an easy task as these were supposed to be hands free and thus the flusher wasn't obvious. After reading yet another sign I found one with an arrow that said push here. And it wasn't just a dainty press you had to really push the button. It took 3 separate big presses to get it to flush and this was just to flush pee. I really think they need to fix this issue before it becomes a sanitary problem. I can't see kids being able to flush, the literate or people that don't read a ton of signs are not going to flush. Anyone in a hurry isn't going to flush. The food was your typical food. I had hot chocolate and he and coffee. Be careful when looking for the driveway to enter. We pulled into the drive through at 10:15pm on a Saturday night and the restaurant hours said this location was open until 11pm. There were employees (young looking kids who were then out of uniform in sweatshirts and sitting on the counters laughing to each other) inside the locked building, who looked at us as we pulled through the drivethru and waved mockingly making rude gestures as we sat their confused as to why they were not serving 45 minutes before their closing time. They then waved us off from inside the restaurant. Clearly management does not have this staff trained or under control at all and they have no interest in respecting or serving costumers when it does not suit their interests. read more

A solid 4. Quick service, can't comment on cleanliness so much -- tables were average, but in the midst of a snowy day, you just can't do much with the floors. But a great location and turn-off for hot chocolate after throwing snowballs at the kid for a few minutes at the nearby Donner Pass rest area, and while it perhaps is goofy to drive three hours for a 30 minute snow fest, maybe you're right. I recently have had terrible experiences at this location from the service I clearly stated many times what I would like from the menu but was not understood until the manager could help because of a language barrier I believe which is understood but not acceptable. This Mc Donald's deserves its low rating. I bought a double quarter pounder large meal from this location. The fries was cold and the burger still had the paper on one of the Patties with cheese on it means the cook did it on purpose. If your reading this stay away from this place it's terrible. read more
