This Kehalani restaurant is the newest Golden Arches to grace Maui, having opened around 2015 or so. They're located in the Kehalani Village Center in Wailuku which also includes a Foodland, Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf and an upcoming credit union. FACILITIES: Like other newer McD's, they feature dual drive-thru lanes that merge into one, two parking stalls reserved for mobile ordering and a modern dining room (though currently closed due to the pandemic). Parking is adequate though some stalls can be impeded if the drive thru backs up. SERVICE: I did a mobile order but prefer to go inside the restaurant to pick up my food rather than going through drive thru. A friendly gal assisted me and I could tell she was a newbie. I totally understand being a newbie at a job so I will never give anyone crap about it. And those of you who do, shame on you! Put yourselves in their shoes. Anyway, she called the manager over for assistance as she didn't know what to do with a mobile order after showing her my phone with the order number. I had a short maybe two minute wait as they prepared my food which gave me the opportunity to check out the inside and snap a pic. After receiving my Portuguese Sausage Eggs & Rice platter (a Hawaii-exclusive selection) and free iced coffee (deal of the day) I noticed there was no shoyu in the package so I asked the girl for some. Poor thing didn't know where it was so she had to ask her manager again. The shoyu was eventually found, LOL! OVERALL: We need another McD's like we need another hole in the head, but it's a nice addition to the area as the original Wailuku location a mile away is very busy and congested. read more

Came at 6:45am, dining room hours posted to open at 7am. I was standing outside until 7:07 before an employee came to the door. The employee asked, "Do you have a car?" Me, "Yes." Employee, "Can you drive thru, the dining room is closed." Me,"Not open at 7am, 7 days a week?" Employee, "It's closed. Only 2 people working. Please drive through." I know it's a fast food chain but this location is just....not that great. Half the time their dining area is closed due to short staffing...I've ordered ahead via mobile, go there to pick up but still have to go through drive through bc the dining area is closed. What's the point of having mobile order available if I still have to go in through the drive through and wait? Whenever they have this issue there is always a sign that says "dining area closed due to short staffing". Also, I went there in the evening about 9:30 a few nights ago. I checked on google before I went and it says they close at 11. I get there and it is completely shut down...at 9:30 pm?? There was a sign saying "lobby is closed at 8 tonight. Sorry for the inconvenience". K fine but why is drive through closed too? I don't understand how such a franchise as McDonald's can operate as such. Worst experience at a McDonald's that I can ever remember. No order takers in store. You have to spend three or four times as long on a semi-functioning touchscreen, than it would take for any competent minimum wage employee to take your order. Touch screen gave me instructions to enter a number from a non-existent table tent. While I went to try to find a human, it almost deleted my whole order. When I asked the human for salt and pepper and ketchup, she told me that was an extra charge then she corrected herself and gave me one of each. When I asked for more she gave me a whole handful. Clueless and wasteful. You got to ask for permission to go to the bathroom. They've decided that you will only dry your hands using magical air Jets built into the sink. If you decline, you have to use your wet hands to push another button to get out. Needless to say I will never return here. read more

I don't know about you folks, but there are a few things I like about da Golden Arches...........they are - 1. I really love the taste of an Egg McMuffin! And for a buck.........the coffee ain't too shabby either! 2. Of course, you can't go wrong with da the breakfast platters - Portuguese Sausage, Spam, Eggs, & Rice.........how can go wrong? Das da winning ticket my friends!!!! 3. I loved the Hot Wings (when they offered it a few years ago).......please bring it back, it was really deeeeeeelicious, and cheap too! 4. I look forward to the summers, as McD's seems to offer the Chocolate Dipped Cone during the summer months.......Love it!!! 5. Love the open fountain...........but only bad thing about it is when bums come into the restaurant & grab a dirty cup from the trash can, only to use it on the fountain. That is just totally gross! And what led me here today, was hearing about da Lobster Roll from my Yelp buddy - Nat N. Much MAHALO Nat for bringing it to my attention! Upon arriving to McD's, I see the sign posted on the window about the Lobster Roll (check!), From there, I walk into the restaurant, & was greeted right away! (check!) I then proceeded to order myself a Lobster Roll Combo ($12.99) - the combo includes a drink & fries. The girl who took my order said if I didn't want the fries, I could substitute my fries for a side salad. Of course I took da fries!!!! For dessert, I got an apple pie ($0.79), with Hawaii sales tax, the grand total of my meal was just ($14.35). Wot a Deal!!!!!. How was the grub??? To be honest with you, I gotta say the Lobster Roll was not bad at all (for $9.99)! Although they don't dunk the lobster in a buttery sauce (like the other lobster rolls I've eaten on the mainland), you really can't complain too much, since you're only paying $9.99 for the sandwich. The lobster meat was cold, and it sits on a bed of lettuce. I think there was some kinda mayo that was mixed inside of the sandwich, and the roll............it was lightly toasted, but pillowy light indeed! Awesome job with the bread roll McD's!!! So all of these positive things I said about McD's, then why just a "2" rating????? Well, I wasn't very happy with the manager's (no help) reaction today! Let me get down to business........ While I was eating my Lobster Roll today, I actually bit into a lobster shell!!! YIKES!!! Good thing I didn't chip a tooth on this lobster roll!!! At 1st I was not gonna say anything, but then I thought it would be a good idea to let the manager know, so they can at least address this, so in the near future, if McD's chooses to serve this sandwich, they will know how to properly prepare, & serve this sandwich! As I walked back to the counter to ask for a manager, the manager goes to the back, so a team member asked me what was the problem? I show her the Lobster Shell I bit into, and a few of the team members came by to apologize for the mishap. The staff even offered me another Lobster Roll, or other free food items, but I told them that I was not here to scam anyone out for free food, I just wanted to let them know when preparing a lobster roll, to be very careful and make sure shells are not in the sandwich, as somebody could get cut, or even chip a tooth!!! Unfortunately, even when a team member went to get the manager, the manager did not come out, I guess the manager was too busy to address my concerns. Having the title of "manager", one would think that they would bear the responsibilities of a bad situation, & address customers needs? No problem, at least the staff here seemed sympathetic about the mishap, and addressed my needs properly. Will I come back here to eat again? The first time I came here, I asked for an Egg McMuffin with no cheese. When I got home, it had cheese, and no meat. After a year, I ordered two Sausage and Egg McMuffins with no cheese, and when I got home, it had cheese, but no egg. I guess it's my fault for not checking, but for some reason, "No Cheese" means put cheese and leave something else out. I come here because it's the closest one, and opens at 5:00. I've started to come here for takeout breakfast on Sundays. It's a great bargain with any size coffee for $1.00. If you complete a survey within 7 days of a McDonald's visit, then you get a free quarter pounder or egg McMuffin if you buy one. This is a great place for drive through, carry out, or if you order with the app, then they will carry out to your car. The best thing about this restaurant is that the food is consistent. Although it may not have a spicy Korean, twice fried chicken sandwich, it has some good options. read more

You need to know how to shop. I shop wisely and get the Oreo McFlurry and ice cream cone. The cones are always fresh and crunchy. The ice cream is creamy the way I like it. Instead of spending the big bucks at Starbucks, I buy the large hot caffe mocha at half the price. I take it home a few minutes away and mix it with my French pressed coffee at home. The McD coffee that I bought will last me until the next day. I'll add cubes of ice to make iced coffee if I want a cold beverage. My wife like the sausage egg McMuffin. I like the local breakfast with Spam, rice and eggs. So, this fast food leader has some great products for a person like me. McDonalds serves a purpose in every community. Affordable and fun for the kids; you gotta try a happy meal. It's a deal. read more

The lady that gave us our order greeted us with a great big smile and the warmest Aloha I've felt on the island!! This is mind blowing because never have I ever been on the receiving end of such ALOHA. This is so rare, especially for a fast food joint. She was an older local lady. She cracked a little joke and it made us laugh and smile. And let me tell you, we were having such a horrible weekend, but she definitely ended our weekend in a better mood. Thank you! KEHALANI VILLAGE McDonald's......I wasn't wearing a shirt so I ordered on the app and wanted to pickup my order using the drive thru line. The line was long. It was moving so slow, I believe it would take over an hour to get my order. I decided to go inside for a refund. The manager told me she wouldn't give me a refund without me wearing a shirt! Can we say - add insult to injury!?......poor store service performance and then, no apology and would not give me my money back. Hmmmmmm.........Manager, Danny was on a power trip! I had to go out to my truck,....wrap a moving blanket around me, walk back into the store like I'm some homeless guy, in order to get my refund! Danny........you're a gem! Same location as the Waiale Road review. I must say the service here has improved since my last review on the Waiale Road posting. If you haven't already, download the free McDonalds App for free food or discounts! I love this stuff and always leave with freebies or lower prices! This place is located next door to Long's Drugs and across the street from Walgreens in Wailuku. Double drive-thru, but seems like only one person taking orders from both lanes, so you may have to wait or actually order after the other person drove in after you. Very small parking lot, but usually open stalls when I've gone. If not, there are other nearby places to park. read more

The wife and I are on vacation from WA State. I ordered a double filet-O-Fish and a large fry. The wife ordered a Big Mac, no onion, extra pickle. My filet-o-fish was great. Fries were great. I wanted so much to jump on here and gloat about the food and service because the workers are so very nice. Unfortunately, my wife's Big Mac contained onions and did not contain extra pickles. The receipt shows "no pickle xtra onion." Sadly, we went through the drive in and ate our meal at our hotel. Thus, 3 stars! So sad! read more

McDonald's is a staple of American cuisine. It has the food that people expect, but it also has local options like the local deluxe breakfast with Portuguese sausage and Spam! There are also options for Portuguese sausage eggs and rice or Spam eggs and rice. The local deluxe is amazing, but not recommended by any cardiologist. I specifically ordered two sausage platters with no egg and all sausage. They gave me one platter and charged me extra $4 for the extra sausage when it's suppose to substitute the egg. I told them i ordered two platters with all sausage and I had to pay again and waited on the side just for them to give me 3 pieces of sausages when I also wanted it all sausage no egg which equals up to 6 pieces of sausage. don't recommend coming here, they don't know what they're doing. read more

Guy who took orders here was rude. My other half was ordering food at the drive thru and the guy says "can I take your order" with the most crappy attitude and doesn't even acknowledge the fact that she's ordering so she pauses cause she gets nothing like ok got it or anything like that. All she got was a "are you still ordering" like how are we supposed to know you are there if you not even confirming what we're ordering? My other half is the sweetest and always says thank you even if service is bad and just got crickets from those guys. All the workers are stuck up there and will never eat there again. Other thing too is that for someone who was there supposedly listening to our order still managed to mess up our order, give us the wrong sauce, and old saimin that supposed to be used by 2:31 pm and it was almost 5 when we ordered it. I have come to this Mcdonalds a lot and had no real problems. Tonight was a different story. I waited for a few minutes in line to be helped, actually I was the only one in line and was looked at about 3 workers, who ignorored me. One worker was cleaning looked at me and continued cleaning, one saw me and didn't call anyone to help me and then went to talk story with her family. The others just kept on working. When I was finally helped, the girl looked at me with "what you want" face and said nothing, not a hi or can I take your order. Tonight we to this location because it was closest to the hospital....went into the restaurant because drive thru line was backed up to long's....order taker (Austin) was very soft spoken very hard to hear him....manager (chimi?)was very rude and unprofessional...I asked for a handled bag to carry our order because we were heading back to the hospital....she signed heavily...we didn't get our drinks for the happy meals we ordered...her reply was " you got the coffees with the happy meals"...WTH?? Anyways we asked for condiments for the coffee...then once she handed that to us...she walked away saying "you gotta be kidding me!"...I Asked Austin what her name was...he said he didn't know... I asked if she was the manager and he answered yes....you don't know your managers name??? I rarely eat breakfast at McDonalds but my experience was so great that my husband I may be coming here more often. One of the worker ( Kathleen) I think that is her name came around to offer more coffee, offered to take our rubbish away, greeted us with a beautiful smile which really made our day.
