You don't understand. I stared at this truck on the corner of 9th and Figueroa for months and was very apprehensive on trying it. All it took was a sample and i was hooked. I got the catfish with the jerk aoli and the mango habenero glaze and a Sweet peach tea. Brother I didn't even get to the tea before I found myself running back outside to buy another try at this truck. I got the fried salmon sandwich. same way, jerk aioli with the mango hab glaze. Sorry I didn't get a pic of the fried salmon. I was too busy scarfing tf outta this. It's criminal not to give this place anything other than 5 stars just off of flavor profile alone. What an experience! My girlfriend and I had a sample on Thursday, but had already eaten so we decided to come back Saturday! (They told us they were gone on Friday) Food is absolutely delicious!! It was a taco truck with a gigantic brilliant image of the most beautiful fish sandwich I ever saw on-screen. Fishy explained everything. He was a Rastafarian like man mountain so there was instant brotherhood like having listened to Exodus and smoked a chillum in some dimension. They pulled up to our job at TikTok yesterday and the food and service was great. They had plenty of information to share when I had questions. They even had someone step out of the food truck and walk me through their self-serving ordering process which was seamless. I ordered the catfish sandwich, salmon nuggets, sweet potato fries, and the mac & cheese. I would definitely order all of the items again. It definitely felt like soul food. The fried catfish sandwich was great, and the fish was tender. That aïoli sauce was smackin. The salmon nuggets were seasoned well, and it was a good touch, dipping it in the maple. I never liked sweet potato fries until I tried Trey's, along with the cabbage; it keeps you wanting more. Salmon nuggets OMG!!!! So Pop Up kitchen food truck actually started in 2019. They would have special events around town and I went to the barbecue one. They are going full-fledged starting Halloween 2020 and I'm really excited because the food menu varies a lot and it can be both very healthy and low carb but also indulgent with barbecue or fried chicken or other Southern comfort foods. They kick ass food wise and as people. I produce features and I was looking for a food truck to come to set that was at the standard quality a film crew expected. Well I looked at a bunch of options and they looked like they had some quality but when K spoke to Trey he just seemed like such a great guy that I pulled the trigger and told him to come. I'll focus on the food first since this is Yelp. Pop Up Kitchen was the best meal we had this entire production. I had the Catfish and it killed. Absolutely delicious.
