Flavors were a bit underwhelming given how delicious and beautiful everything looks in the photos. I ordered the Colombian bowl with chicken, sweet plantains, rice, beans, and cilantro chimichurri salsa. I also got a side of the corn salad. After all DoorDash discounts were applied (DashPass and Holiday discount), I only spent about $20 for a HUGE portion that will definitely last me all day (+$5 for driver tip). Everything tasted delicious and had a homemade feel to it. It wasn't extraordinarily restaurant-quality, but it felt like something I could meal prep myself or eat at someone's house. The chimichurri was heavily salted compared to everything else in the bowl. Simple food, tasted super healthy and fresh. Would definitely eat here again. Underwhelming isn't always a bad thing! Pleasantly surprised, will order again! Found them on Door Dash, and had no idea this place existed near USC. It's high quality tacos and bowls for sure. I got pork in both my orders (tacos and bowl)c and it was delicious and hearty. Much bigger than Mexican tacos. My only critique if that I'm one of those people who abhors cilantro, and the tacos came covered in them. If I had known that before, I would have asked to leave it off. Love this place and the people who run it. I had been drooling for months over their Instagram because of the inventive twists they give their menu items (go look at that Taco de Cheese with the generous slab of toasted provolone and crispy plantain chicharrones YES YOU HEARD ME CRISPY PLANTAIN CHICHARRONES). We're a bit outside their delivery range, so we made the trek downtown from East Hollywood to pick up. Long story short, worth the trip. Items we love the most: ~The Taco de Pork - I will be hard pressed not to get this every time. The garlic crema mixes with the tender pork for a truly indulgent bite and those bangin' chicharrones make an appearance here as well. Ahhhh seriously drooling just thinking about it, moving on!! ~That Taco de Cheese - I need not say more. OH WAIT! Yes I must say one more thing: We added hogao (a Columbian "butter salsa"...YEP) per the recommendation on the menu. My husband and I agree that's a critical hit and will be getting it every time. I may have to just buy a vat of it. It's so rich somehow, like it's definitely salsa but it's so...creamy? Even without cream in it? There's witchery afoot with the hogao. ~The Queso - GREAT chips here and this is their perfect mate. ~The Dulce de Leche quesadilla - Now here's where things start to get REALLY creative. Melty mozzarella in between two toasty tortillas...encrusted in a not-too-hot habanero sugar (!!!) and drizzled with dulce de leche. It. Works. My husband said he'll be ordering this one every time, which brings me to... ~The Rice Pudding. This one's MY dessert. White pepper rice pudding with coconut whipped cream and topped with a generous sprinkling of cilantro sugar. What. WHAAAAAT. I am a rice pudding FREAK and this one was unfffffff PERFECT. So so refreshing, especially on a warm day. I could eat a vat. Def on my permanent order list. People, try them out, for real. The icing on this cake was we had a tiny snafu on an order (just a missing taco, nbd) and I wrote in and let's just say they made things RIGHT. More than right. Had a delicious dinner from Tacos by Dres the other night. We ordered their $1 Chicken Tacos (what a deal!), No Meat Burrito combo, Beans, Chips+Salsa, and Oatmeal Horchata. The salsas were unique, the burrito was hefty, and I loved the pickled fennel that came with the burrito. They gave us a free Rice Pudding with our order and it was so good. Ordered a STEAK burrito on 3/2/23. When i took the first bite i realized it was more like pulled pork or pulled beef. Was extremely dissapointed. I wanted steak. But i did not receive that. A staff member replied to my story through Instagram "Found it! It does show you selected beef. Was your expectation more like chopped steak? Vs Braised beef?" This place is AMAZING You can taste how absolutely fresh all the ingredients are. The burritos are HUGE. Like double the size of. Chipotle burrito, no exaggeration. The quesadilla was DELICIOUS. The Aji cilantro chimichurri was recommended, and it was good, but the roasted jalapeño was by far my favorite. The food is very fresh and pure, and could be considered under seasoned or a bit bland, but it was so good I enjoyed tasting the ingredients without too much spice and seasoning. That's what the jalapeño sauce is for. The churros are superb. The Yuka fries were SO CRISPY and not greasy at all. And we got this delivered, so the fact they weren't soggy or stale is a testament to their brilliant choice of packaging (paper bags, NOT STYROFOAM!! Love this!) The plantains were PERFECT. We ordered chips and queso, which didn't make it into the bag, but I'm not even mad because everything else was so wonderful. We will be ordering from/going to this place many, many more times. I tried this place a few weeks back and I really enjoyed the tacos with the cheese! Very delicious flavor and good amount of meat. The burrito was huge as well. I did notice on Yelp there were a lot of complaints about prices being a little higher than regular but the amount of meat given seems to justify the price. One burrito, taco and guacamole was enough food for two people. The guacamole was a little too funky for me because it had a seasoning that overpowered the taste. I am a simple guacamole type of gal. But I still enjoyed everything else and look forward to placing another order soon. read more

I got a burrito forgot what it was called, and chips and cheese sauce, the food was great , although i do believe it is a little under seasoned, don't necessarily think it's gross but if it was seasoned a little more with different spices it'll be a 10/10, the quality of the meets and chips and tortilla was 100%, the beef was so tender and soft and was def slow cooked to perfection,chips were perfect slightly thick, and the cheese sauce didn't taste cheap, tasted fresh and perfect, not too runny not to thick, everything was delicious to me, but worth the price of i think 16 bucks a burrito, i would say ya, i mean your getting a massive burrito, it's not small whatsoever and it has very high quality ingredients, nothing cheap, nothing rotten, all fresh, and that's what i think is their strength, but in the flavor department it's very natural tasting, and good, but just good, not explosive with flavor, nothing to make your tastebuds go crazy, i've had much more locations with better flavor , personally i'd prefer cheaper quality and flavorful than vice versa.... now if your asking "should i try it once atleast" , yes definetly, make this a weekly thing, idk abt that , id probablly eat here once a month maybe less, price is too high for the lack of flavor, put in the valley i go to a place called el taco llama, and i spend half that price and i get a good sized burrito/quesadilla and that still gets me equally full, with fresh i didn't even finish it, so ya i could spend 8 bucks and get a burrito i can finish at taco llama.....anyways my 2 cents, give it a try , i'm eager to see reviews in the future that agree with what i'm saying :) read more

Omg so so very surprised by this place. I randomly saw the pics while looking through DoorDash & decided to try it out since the reviews on here were so good. It's not cheap but it was worth every penny! I got the burrito with beef, a can of coke, queso (came with chips) & an extra salsa. The total with tip was $33. Again, not cheap at all but good!!! The burrito was phenomenal. It was HUGE & stuffed with very good fillings: rice, beans, cheese, & tender flavorful beef. All equal parts & all so well seasoned. The burrito was crispy at certain areas while still soft & chewy. The salsas seemed fresh & were so flavorful as well. The chips were also really good! The only thing that wasnt a "wow" for me was the queso. Don't get me wrong, it was good! But it was about 8 or 9 bucks I believe & I do think I could have made something comparable at home with the bottled queso, some raw white onion pieces tossed in with cilantro & some seasoning with a biggggggg bag of chips for roughly the same price. I don't think my at home version would be ass nice as theirs but I do think it's something to consider that will save you almost 10 bucks if that's something you're trying to be aware of. Next time I would skip & try something else. But I will say... if I'm ever craving queso again & don't wanna go to store - I'd definitely order it again! Everything was packaged securely & neatly with seals on the bag & it was still semi hot even tho it took a while for the actual delivery part. The wet burrito, quesadilla, yucca fries, churros, and of course the tacos are all incredible, however the one stand out that you may not expect is the BUFFALO WINGS! Let me start off with the good, the packaging was beautiful and it made me feel secure that there was a kitchen seal on the bag. Noww let's talk about this elote. It was cold, taste like someone had literally dumped and drained canned corn and threw a bunch of mayonnaise with a dash of paprika. With this being a Mexican restaurant, I would have expected a little more of authenticity. I am VERY disappointed and the price isn't cheap for $8 I am extremely sad that I had to throw this away. I had really high hopes when Tacos by Dres came up on my keto yelp search. Come to find out the only keto friendly options I noticed were a queso dip with a side of chicharrones. Not too thrilled but I love chicharrones and cheese so why not? I set my order for pickup and made my way to the location. The location can be kind of tricky to find. I called the restaurant and was greeted by an employee who seemed annoyed that I had called. After a brief exchange and him confirming that I was in the right area, I headed towards the pick-up area. When I got there the man informed me that my order was accidentally picked up by someone else. Fine, not a problem, the restaurant remade my order. I noticed the bag felt wet and pulled my car over to find out that the restaurant didn't close the container correctly. I go to open my chicharrones and was met with tortilla chips that I couldn't eat because they are not keto. So now I have cheese everywhere besides the container and a bag of tortilla chips that I can't eat. I call grub hub a total of 3x trying to get my order corrected. I'm not sure if it was just miscommunication between the 3 parties but it was extremely frustrating to try and have my order remade. I drove back to pick up a container of chicharrones with no cheese dip to go along. At that point I am frustrated and just want a refund for wasting my time.
