First time trying this food truck with clever/witty branding a few months ago when we went to the Winter Walk SF at Union Square. Me So Hungry! Known for American-Asian comfort-food such as Korean Fried Chicken Sandwich, Fish Filet Sandwich and Sliders, etc. I tried their Fish Filet Sandwich at this event and while it doesn't taste like McDs, I really like it. It's like having fish and chips without the chips and in a burger form. Bigger portions too. It took a little bit of time to get our food because there were a lot of people, but staff were friendly. At the back gardens in Filoli, we were getting so hungry, so we were happy to see this truck. We ordered 3 fish sandwiches and strawberry mochi. It took a while for the sandos, but hey, they're cooking them to order, so np. I don't eat a lot of fish sandwiches, but it was definitely in the top 3 in my lifetime probably since it was so freshly made and the perfect balance of ingredients. We hadn't planned on getting the strawberry mochi, but we saw someone eating one and they looked to be enjoying it SO MUCH that we just had to try one, and it did not disappoint. My brother was visiting from NC, and he just texted me about the strawberry mochi, lol. We're both still dreaming about it! We so not happy! We were nearby at Costco & wanted to check out SoMA Streat Eats. We decided on sharing the Cali Sliders (2 for $8). There was a also a check in deal on Yelp for free garlic fries with purchase...score! The guy taking our order asked how we wanted them and we said medium. The sliders were topped with bacon, balsamic caramelized onions and Gorgonzola cheese. I liked how the sliders were a little different with the use of Gorgonzola. The burgers were cooked more well done than medium and weren't juicy at all. Bf also pointed out that they were pretty thin, and that usually with sliders they compensate for the size of the overall burger with a little thicker of a patty. The garlic fries were perfectly crisp, but I couldn't really taste the garlic or much of the parm cheese. Would not come back. Oh sure, I've seen their familiar pink-and-black truck around town (photo: http://bit.ly/1DSRE0u), the last time likely being the Eat Real Food Festival over in Oakland. As you can probably guess, I'm not much of a food truck connoisseur, but even I've heard good things about Me So Hungry from people who follow the Off the Grid markets. I don't mind them, I just don't seek them out, but this one landed on my doorstep, or at least in front of the office building where I work. Since I was tired of getting my daily vegetarian sandwich that particular day, I decided to go for broke and ordered the relatively bargain priced Cali Sliders at $8. You get two with an order, nice little Angus beef patties stacked with smoked Applewood bacon, balsamic sauteed onions, mixed greens and Gorgonzola cheese, encased in a freshly baked bun. I also went for a $4 order of the Garlic Parmesan Fries with little regard for my colleagues back at the office who had to sit next to me at a staff meeting (photo: http://bit.ly/1NeZZRi). There were plenty of other sliders to consider (though they appear to run out quickly judging from the number of crossed lines on the menu) and regular-size temptations like the $9 Monster Burger that featured cheddar and Asian BBQ sauce, the $10 Duke that included onion rings and cheese bread, and the obligatory Garden Burger for $9. But for $12, I got a pretty decent amount of food that was well prepared for a truck. The sliders were devoured pretty quickly, but that was just as well since I was eating at my desk and didn't feel like being interrogated over how good they were. Yes, they're good, now go back to your computer please! We ordered again and the wait to get our food was another 20 mins. Forty minutes total and my stomache was ready to eat itself. I opted for the slider sampler platter for $11 and my tastebuds were more than happy. The Cali Slider features angus beef with smoked applewood bacon, balsamic sauteed onions, and gorgonzola cheese. I found my beef patty a little dry, but the balsamic onions were to die for! The KTM features kahlua marinated short ribs, pepper jack cheese, crispy onions and a spicy creme fraiche sauce. The rib meat was juicy, but looked more like tiny pieces of beef rather than a solid, tender almost pulled pork style of meat. Either way, it was melt in your mouth goodness. I had Me So Hungry again today as they were parked outside of Bluxome Street Winery during their weekly friday event. This is now the third time I've given in to the flashy pink and black monster that is Me So Hungry. I almost always regret the gutbomb that ensues, but it is delicious all the same, provided you know which dishes are good, and which to pass on. The buns on all of their options are very good. Tasty and perfectly charred on the inside, this is one of the best parts about their food. The burgers, in my opinion, are not worth getting. While filling, not much stands out to me about them. The same goes for the cali slider, which uses the same patties. The hawaiian sliders are very poor as well. The only good part about these are the chipotle aioli and the buns. My favorite dish here is the KTM slider. The marinated short ribs are very tasty and soft. Together with the pepperjack cheese, crispy onion strings and creme fraiche sauce, this just melts in your mouth. I order this every time now. Their parmesan sweet potato fries are a nice side dish to go with the KTM sliders. It also uses the creme fraiche sauce as well as parmesan and parsley. Since it is sweet potato instead of regular fries it is slightly more health as well, although not much. Overall this is one of the better trucks out there, although it is somewhat pricey. read more

Usually not a fan of the ""BBQ"" burger style but THE DUKE was the best burger I had in awhile. The fries that came with were very good as well. Garlic, hot, and crispy on the outside. After a few visits, it seems to take about 15 minutes to get your food on average. Luckily I'm a patient customer so it doesn't bother me too much, especially when they're really busy outside of a bar or other food truck gathering sites. Overall, despite the long wait times, I think MeSoHungry is a good truck, but it probably wouldn't be my first choice if I had to choose from several trucks at Off The Grid or SOMA Streat Food Park. The sweet potato fries were really good, especially with the spicy creme fraiche sauce. It was a nice take on classic sweet potato fries. The sliders were where the meal really stood out: First of all, the bread is amazing. They are brioche, so they are very tender and moist. After the superfriendlyawesome lady rang me up, she asked if I wanted ONE or an order of the KTM (an order comes with 2 sliders). The total was 49 and some change. While waiting for my order, I asked myself, "Hmm, 9+4=13 but I only paid $9. Did they forget my fries?" So I walked to the counter, Me: "Excuse me, did I order fries?" I ordered the Slider Sampler which came with one Cali Slider, KTM, and Flyin' Hawaiian. The KTM was filled with a good amount of tender short ribs, but they weren't that flavorful. I think they were trying to go for a sweet Korean type of marinade, but it was pretty bland. The Flyin' Hawaiian was somewhat better. The shredded chicken was a little bit dry, but it had a little more flavor than the short ribs. It was suppose to come with Chipotle Aioli, but I couldn't taste the smoky chipotle flavor. There was some kick to it, but it tasted like Korean chili paste. It still could've been bolder with the seasoning and spices. They should just throw kimchi in there. I thought the best one was the Cali Slider. The ground beef patty was salty enough and was cooked pretty well; it had a nice pink color on the inside. The balsamic onions were too strong, though. Got to taste their KTM sliders while at the Annual Ghost Ship Halloween Party's new location, Pier 70. Their truck was the one that had the most people in line compared to the other food trucks. I live in the Sharon Green Apartments in Menlo Park. Every Friday they have food trucks for us. This past Friday the 4th of September they brought out Me So Hungry Burger Food Truck. A guy named Johnny tried food from the original MeSoHungry based in LA. He loves it so much he decided to bring it to NorCal. Wow, I gotta say, i've never expected such good quality from a food truck. But Me-so-hungry hit the spot with their absolutely delectable and amazingly delicious and flavorful sampler platter. I ended up ordering The Cali, KTM, and the Hawaiian with an order of the parmesan fries. the tenderness and flavor of all the meats were absolutely enticing. Johnny, Rob, and the rest of the crew did an amazing job and prep time literally took less than 2 minutes for my order. Fast food speed, gourmet restaurant quality. Angus beef teriyaki sliders ... I think I've sold my soul. I haven't enjoyed a burger that much since my first visit to Umami. The teriyaki sauce was rich and intense. This food truck needs to start making rounds at Soma StrEAT Food Park. read more

I was mooching off of Laura L.'s Slider Sample and sweet potato fries....wow! I was socked by the flavors *and a bit of jealousy since I also craved her food as well as mine!* The sample included the flyin' hawaiian, the cali, and the KTM. The Flyin' Hawaiian w/ Chicken, Crispy Maui Onions and Chipotle Aioli was by far our favorite of the 3. It had the sweet and savory down pat and the sock of yummy flavors was just so good, I was this close to knocking out my cousin just so I can eat all her food. Our second favorite is the KTM, w/ Marinated Short Ribs, Pepper Jack Cheese, Crispy Onions and Spicy Crème Fraîche. There was that kicky hit with the pepper jack and creme fraiche...but it was also messy so be prepared! Third was the KTM, w/ Angus beef, Smoked Apple-Wood Bacon, Balsamic Sauteed Onions, Gorgonzola Cheese Sauce..which if we haven't tried the others would have been just as yummy. The sweet potato fries were also excellent. They were crunchy and seasoned. The spicy creme fraiche sauce was the perfect dipping condiment for this tubor snack. If you ever see this food truck around your neighborhood, do yourself a favor and get in line, cause it's that good!! read more

I contacted Me So Hungry for a corporate event we had for work and was put in touch with Jerry, the owner . Jerry was greatly responsive and he worked with me on my budget and created a special menu for the vegetarians as my boss is vegetarian. On the day of the event, they came early and were set up and ready before the guests arrive. They were also really nice to our guests, and continued to joke around with them and make sure everyone was in a good/festive mood. Great/professional experience. I got the KCM short rib sliders and was pretty disappointed. There was no line and I got my order within a couple minutes, so I was surprised the sliders were a bit cold, definitely not warm. The jack cheese wasn't even melted, and seemed to have an odd aftertaste. The short ribs were glazed in this sauce that I thought was way too sweet. I mean yeah, it's personal preference I guess, but I just can't see too many people raving about this sauce. Now it's a few hours after eating the sliders, and I am not feeling that great. My stomach is clearly frustrated with me for eating them. Unless this is the only food truck around, I will most likely not be trying this truck again, even if mesohungry. read more

Just had the Me So Hungry food truck at work. Couldn't help but saying the name like a vietnamese whore but i think it's part of the fun, no? The chicken slider was delicious and the shoe string fries with garlic were amazing! Not too intense on the garlic and the fry was perfect. Me So Hungry to the rescue ! It was a super slow day at work today so my little girl age of 7 1/2 came along and for all you parents out there. We all know kids get hungry and get picky. It was a big bonus that the Me So Hungry truck happen to be out in the front of my work place so we gave it a go and WALLA !!! it was a hit. my little girl loves it soo much she wants to go to work with me every Friday just to have the sliders from Me So Hungry. A must try again next time for sure.. But next time it's all for me not unless my little boss in with me.. Thumbs up !!! read more

Reposting after review was removed... Food trucks normally offer their customer three things - good food, delivered quickly, where you want it. We tried Me So Hungry at America's Cup Park and unfortunately they could only get the location right. We stood in line for 15 minutes to order (just 5 people / 3 orders ahead of us), and it took an extra 25+ minutes to prepare and deliver an average meal. You know it's bad when sitting down at the burger place across the street would have been faster. At least Me So Hungry lives up to their brand promise - they keep their customers hungry! Meh. Tried them out at SoMa StrEat Food Park. Service I asked for the slider sample (3 sliders of my choice). I asked for two of the KTM (marinated short ribs) and one Cali (w/ bacon and gorgonzola). The cashier was nice, and while still waiting, I asked to use my Yelp check-in offer for an order of fries, and he honored that. The wait was pretty long. Sliders are small, it shouldn't take that long to cook a mini-patty and dress some buns. When I got my order, it was wrong. They had given me one each of their three regular sliders, instead of the 2-KTM-1-Cali that I had asked for. Food The biggest disappointment to all of this was that the food wasn't even good. The KTM was probably the best, but the Cali had a thin patty that was overcooked. The bacon on it wasn't crispy. And those fries, even though they were free, were just not good. They tasted a bit stale, weren't crispy enough, and needed some salt. I didn't even bother trying to finish the fries. VERDICT: I would not return. read more
