Their sandwiches include a HUGE piece of fried chicken! Definitely had to smash it down a bit with my hands in order to fit it in my mouth! Haha. I was craving friend chicken and was not able to find anything that caught my eye. But eventually found hetchy's hots. The menu on door dash was amazing since it had pictures of what what you would be ordering. Some of the stores don't have pictures which would be very helpful. I decided to try the hetch Calabria which comes with Calabria spice, be pickles, mama lil's peppers and lemon aoli. And I also ordered the szetchy fries which comes with szechuan powder. When you order the hetch burger you have a choice of hot oil or extra hot oil. Who may know me I will always opt for the extra hot. When I first opened the box I was amazing at how much it looked like the picture on door dash. The fried chicken was coated and fried perfectly. The lil's pepper adds another level of spice. I was busy at work and couldn't eat for an hour after the delivery and was surprised that the chicken was not soggy or limp. It was still fresh and crunch. But the bun was another story. It was a bit soggy. The fries was delicious. A nice coating of szechuan seasoning. And still crunchy after sitting for an hour. But some parts were soft like the center of the fries. Got to try out this place recently! Got the plain chicken sandwich with ranch Fries. The fries were so amazing and honestly the portion for everything was so big. Their fries and sandwiches are a little pricy BUT I think they're worth the size. To me there wasn't much flavor but I'd probably have to try a different sandwich or not get it plain! I just ate here and boy was that chicken sandwich a big boy. I ordered the Szetchy hot sandwich with rancher fries. Let's start out with the sandwich, that thing was HUGE. My boyfriends and I shared it and it was more than enough. The chicken had a good flavor and the bread combination was great. It came with a hot oil on top and I personally thought that was too much, I would probably skip it next time. Texture wise it was great, not too crunchy, not soggy, perfectly done. There are few things more enjoyable for me than biting into a hot, crunchy, juicy fried chicken thigh. Imagine my joy when I got a trio of fried chicken sandwiches delivered to my door. These loaded sandwiches traveled surprisingly well - the filling was still crunchy (even the hot cheetos), intact, and the buns were fluffy. Initially the buns seemed big, but when I saw how generously large the chicken thighs were the ratios worked. Of the three I tried, I liked the flavor of the Rancher Dancher the most thanks to the pickled onions and ranch powder. The buns were also the most buttery on that one. The Hetch Calabria had awesome sweet and sour vinegar tang from the mama lil's peppers and the bright pickles. Though the chicken itself on this one was a little dry. Part of the proceeds goes to hospital workers, front line service workers, and hospitality employees. I placed my takeout order on DoorDash in the morning and the earliest pick-up time was 30 minutes after the 11:30 AM opening. Easy pickup - grab your order at the table at the entrance. I ordered the Hetch Calabria w/ calabrian spice, bb pickles, mama lil's peppers, lemon aioli ($13.50) and enjoyed it ASAP in the car. Sandwiched between a sturdy bun, the fried chicken thighs (two) is hot and juicy with a crackly crunch. It's smothered in a housemade chili oil and dusted with Calabrian spice for two layers of hotness (medium heat). Well, three layers with the topping of chopped peppers adding a slightly sweet, smoky heat. The pickles cut through the richness while the lemon aioli gave a nice cooling acidic bite. Solid hot chicken sandwich, though my preference would be for a softer brioche bun. A sturdier bun was probably chosen for delivery purposes. Props to the staff for the great service and taking safety precautions seriously. Since it's day one, the wait was longer than quoted and the kind, apologetic staff (young guy with black hair) offered to buy coffee from Saint Frank's next door for customers waiting. Only thing to keep in mind if you're ordering online is that the bottom bun gets soggy from the sauce by the time it gets to your place. The chicken in the sandwich is definitely the biggest I've ever seen and looked even bigger in person than in pictures. The chicken was juicy and nicely fried. However, there are weird spots of tendons or fats around the edges of the chicken making it a little bit hard to chew/tear off. I wish there were more of their pickled onions or special sauce in the sandwich in order to balance out the saltiness of the chicken. I think this is specific to the Rancher Dancher, but the seasoning on the chicken is too salty, especially around the outer fried edges of the chicken. Over time the saltiness is very apparent, making it hard to continue eating the sandwich without reaching for water every few bites. I like the texture and the way the fries were. On the day of pick up, I received text notifications informing me when my order was ready to be picked up at the counter. I felt reassured seeing the staff masked and the abundance of safety precautions set up. With the way it's assembled, I would call it a fried chicken burger because it's massive. At first bite, I could hear the crunch from the crispy chicken skin crust. The chicken is perfectly fried to maintain the crisp and the juiciness. I did not find the chicken sandwich to be spicy at all. It is a very mild spice with hot oil sprinkled over. I would describe the spice level as milder than the famous Huy Fong sriracha sauce. Perhaps, it wasn't spicy to me because I'm Asian and can handle more intense levels of numbing spices. The creamy ranch dressing sauce coated the fried chicken, but I was getting notes of mayonnaise. I would have like it more if the sauce was more evenly spread out. The pickled red onions complement the greasiness of the fried chicken, but it would probably have been better with additional slices of pickles or coleslaw. This is going to be a longer story: I will start with a hit on Doordash because I put in the order at 6:30, and we never got a "Dasher" assigned to pick up the food until 7:58... This is a fried chicken sandwich that is flavorful, oily, spicy -- you name it! It was so crispy and juicy that I truly appreciated every bite. Plus, the sandwich was BIG. It was a little too big in the sense that the sandwich was kinda messy and tough to eat, but that's ok. The hot Cheetos were a fun touch as well. I also ordered the rancher fries and their trio of ranch and REALLY enjoyed all of that. Always love having a nice side to go along with my sandwich, and these fries were terrific. 5 ALARM FIRE, this sandwich is HOT! As someone who prides myself on being able to handle spicy foods pretty well and usually chooses the spiciest option there is, I thought I could handle this place, but I was sweating for sure. For the sandwich, I went with the Hetchy's Hot and it was exactly the kind of deliciousness you'd expect when reading it on the menu. I opted for the hotter oil, which I might not do next time, as the spice level almost got to the point of overpowering the great flavor. Despite the epic level of spiciness, I couldn't stop eating and finished the massive sandwich, which easily could have been split into two separate meals. On the side, I went with the Rancher fries, which were perfectly seasoned and complemented the sandwich so well. Hetchy's delivered..fantastic break from the monotony of shelter in place. The sandwiches on the menu have one, two, or three peppers to indicate spicy level. I ordered the El Hetcharacha Sandwich and some fries. The fries weren't so crispy by the time they showed up (kinda expected) but the sandwich was crispy, steamy, and juicy. It's also HUGE. I could have easily split it with someone. The El Hetcharacha is rated as a three pepper sandwich; it is not very hot. Whoa, there are some huuuuge chickens within these hot buns. Hetchy's Hots serves some of the best tasting hot fried chicken sandwiches that I've had in the bay area. Hetchy's Hots was created as a solution to help keep people employed during COVID-19 while also donating 3% of proceeds to frontline workers. You have to order online through their website or a third party delivery service, even if you're picking up the order. There's almost no available parking here even on a weekday, and the police were enforcing parking tickets on the street during my visit. Orders are picked up at the entrance of Square Pie Guys, and orders can take up to 30 minutes to be ready. These sandwiches traveled very well in 20 minutes - nothing got soggy or cold, the crunch was still there, and no ingredients shifted. That's some great packaging! The extra large piece of chicken has a thick, crunchy exterior, and a thick, juicy inside. This has been by far the biggest piece of chicken I've ever seen in a sandwich, and every inch of it was sooo good and moist. The buns do an excellent job at holding the chicken, and are durable yet soft and buttery themselves. They have three heat levels (1 chili pepper to 3 chili peppers), and we got the Rancher Dancher (1 chili pepper) and Hetch Calabria (2 chili peppers). The chicken thighs are flavored with chili oil as well as a spice mix, which in theory can be really spicy, but from judging what we've tried, I can definitely take on their hottest sandwich no problem (my usual spice enjoyment limit is mild or medium at other hot chicken places). The Rancher Dancer's ranch powder gives it a little bit of that creamy, Doritos Cool Ranch funk. The special sauce is an unidentifiable creamy sauce - nothing too out of the ordinary, but spread well enough to not be too overbearing. I loved the acidic crunch from the thin sliced pickled onions. On this sandwich, they seemed to have burnt a couple of patches on the chicken, but we just ate it no problem. The Hetch Calabria was a sweeter, smokier, and tangier sandwich due to the flavors from the peppers and pickles, which were fresh and plentiful. The aioli had an addictive taste, and was more garlicky than lemony. To me, the heat level was maybe mild at best, while the Rancher Dancer just had a hint of spice. To accompany our sandwiches, we shared the Szetchy Fries. For some reason, my first taste of this made me think of Froot Loops - they definitely had some sweetness in the seasoning, and I prefer fries to be salty. It didn't exactly remind me of Sichuan spice, and the closest thing I could compare it to is Tajin. The fries were still well made and crunchy though, and my boyfriend really liked the light seasoning. Turn up the heat, Hetchy's Hots! This is how a chicken sandwich is supposed to be: huge, crunchy, hot, soft bun, juicy meat...served quickly which is good bc the area where you pick it up is sketchy. Just order ahead and come to pick it up and go during the daytime when they say it's ready and you will be fine. Sammy could be big enough for 2 ppl. What more can you ask for? I got the Hetchy's hot and the Rancher Dancher, and I devoured them both in one go. And let me tell you, the chicken size was HUGE! For both of them. I have seen fairly big fried chicken portions for sandwiches, but Hetchy's definitely takes it home for me. There were 3 things I was disappointed with. One, neither of the sandwiches were hot enough, not even the one with cheetos. They were both slightly on the drier side, and could have done with more sauce or a more moist coating. The 3rd being a lack of side options to order from. Would have been great if they offered some fries or something of the sort on their menu. That being said, the size and flavor of the sandwiches alone make it worth 4 stars. But they can definitely make some improvements. read more

I don't normally write reviews but this place is so insanely good I had to.. Hetchy's Hots is pleasing both to the eye and the belly. I was initially attracted by the crazy photo of a chicken Sando with flaming hot Cheetos and I was not disappointed!!! The flavor is incredible and the size is impressive. It's moderately priced for what you get it's a crazy value especially in a town like SF which likes to charge $14 for a piece of bread. They could easily charge $20 a sandwich, but they don't so that shows they care about the local community! Also the spice levels are perfectly balanced with the flavor anyone who complains about it is lame. Loved everything but my chicken was pink in the middle, rubbery pink and I'm sorry I can't eat that...Chicken needs to be cooked y'all. I hear complaints that you overcooked well they got lucky! I have to say something about this place because I have never had as thick and juicy a piece of chicken as I have here. I ordered the Rancher Dancer and a side of fries. These sandwiches are RIDICULOUS. The chicken is essentially a thick rectangle with those nice juicy bits jutting out from underneath the bun, so you basically get chicken nuggets in addition to your sandwich. It was pretty salty in areas where the ranch powder was concentrated, but overall every bite was supremely juicy and full of flavor. The batter forms a crunchy protective layer around the meat. But man, I was so full afterwards. It felt like a stone sitting at the bottom of my stomach. The fries are good too. Like the chicken, they've got a nice thickness to them, and the Szetchy Style ones are kind of sweet in addition to salty. I also took a bite of the Hot Cheetos one, but I think the Cheetos were a bit stale and besides that couldn't really taste them. These sandwiches are pricey; each is ~$15 and the fries are $6.
