Cute little place close to my daughters apartment. Had cup coffee and small burger. Got onions grilled this hit the spot! Lived sitting outside on patio under shady umbrella. Lady working was very nice brought items out to me!

I ordered from Tony's Cable Car through Postmates and thought it was just okay overall. I got the fish sandwich and the fried chicken sandwich and both were decent but nothing really stood out. The mac salad was a bit of a letdown; it was too watered down and could've been creamier. The flavor leaned too sweet for my taste. Not terrible, but not something I'd rush to order again.

Grilled chicken sandwich special was great. As expected. The chicken sandwich was hot, tender and flavorful. They gave me waaay more curly fries than I wanted. The chocolate malt was a bit different than most places but still great. Service took a bit longer than I expected. I ate there and there was ample seating inside and outside. All the tables were clean. Would recommend if you want good diner food.

I have been coming here for a while know being born and raised on San Francisco. Me being a kid dad used to bring us here and now being a grandfather bringing my 5 year old grandson here today is amazing. 'But' I asked then if they had a kids menu the lady said yes we do comes with a burger or chicken strips. So ordered a kids burger fries and a drink. Then ordered my self a bacon cheeseburger with fries and a drink. Bill came to $40.41 anyway I was alittle upset with the lady but I guess that's the way things are today. 'There was no kids mail look at the receipt lol

Been coming here since I was in high school. Still the same people running this place always super nice and friendly. I take my nephew now after school once in a while and the lady on the counter always knows our order already. The place is always super chill always a chair or table to sit at it's a really cool type of old school ambiance. We always get the tenders and fries with a milkshake or a burger. Love coming to this place I hope it's around for many many more years!!

Feeling healthy-ish, went with a burger and chili beans this time. Not two filling, good flavor. Dude's behind the counter are awesome. My coworker got a cheeseburger, milkshake, and french fries, I lived through him. Looked amazing! He ended up sleeping in the van after though.

3 for most people and a 4 for me. I get here every so often and realized tonight it has been 7 years since I last wrote a review here. A great place for me when it is alone time and I want to eat some nostalgia on my own. My dad would sneak me here sometimes when I was a kid. Only locals , Kaiser employees and natives eat here pretty much. Been eating here since the Doggie Diner closed way back in the '70s. Service can be slow so be patient and give time. I ordered a dog and fries ahead of time and it still took me 20 minutes. So order ahead unless you have time. I just love how they stuff the bag with fries and their Schwarz sausages are so nice grilled.

This place is a S.F. classic opening in 1972 . Known for the Burgers & hot dogs, fries & milkshakes, in an old-school diner with cable-car decor. I really was tryna see OG l. I do miss the large size order of onion rings too. This location has a iPad ordering system via Credit card and they also do have the old school walk in cashier. On the burgers they have temp levels and i ordered mines medium rare and it came out delish. This place is great for mellow vibes

The place is small with limited seating. Very happy with my All Beef Polish and large fries. Everything on the menu looked. From out of town but will be back.

1/2 lb burger with bacon & cheese

After taking my dog to her vet appointment, decided to give a place a try that I've driven by numerous times. This is definitely the no-frills, greasy goodness that is a stop if you are looking for burgers, fries and a shake. Since it was my first time, I decided to go with the combo with 1/2 burger, fries, and coffee shake. Plus adding cheese and bacon to the burger. If you've ever eaten at Sam's in SF, I'd say the quality and flavor are almost identical, with Tony's having a slight advantage. While it was massive and filling, I didn't find anything to be standout but it definitely left me full. It's a classic cheeseburger and gets the job done, however it's not something I'd go out of my way for. The fries were crinkle and fried to perfection. Perfectly salted. The milkshake was good, and served it's purpose. I also got some chili, which was alright as well. Not counting the chili, I ended up spending around $25 for the combo meal + tax/tip. If I came back, I definitely could get a meal for under $15 and skip the shake next time around.

Had a sautéed mushroom burger today, with curly fries. Everything was delicious and they pile on the fries! Prices are great , can't complain.

Great place, service is consistent and kind to people. Good Food, with a price that never disappoints. It is very traditionally old-school great restaurant for lunch.

This place was included on a list of Sunday brunch recommendations. I had seen other fellow Elite Yelpers recommending it, so I wanted to try it. We had the French toast sticks, very good, as well as the classic breakfast dish, my partner had the breakfast burrito. Both dishes were decent, but we were there for the company mostly. The restaurant was quaint and cute, more compact, but had a secondary overflow area in a separate part of the restaurant. There were restrooms on both side, and Causewells served as a chill morning for us with our friends. The location had a cute bar set up for evening link ups, and the service was very friendly. The vibe is more of what you go for the food is decent but won't necessarily blow you away. Try them out and see for yourself. For tourists, or visitors of the city, the location is in the Marina District, so Golden Gate Bridge is near if you'd like to sightsee. This location is also very close to the Presidio theater.

The wait on a Wednesday evening was kind of long but doesn't feel too bad when you're with good company. My friend and I waited about an hour around 6:30. The mushroom pizza was very flavorful. The corners and sides were crunchy, it was topped with lots of cheese and mushrooms. It was the perfect amount for 2 people. We also got the olive oil cake which came with a dollop of what I think is whipped cream cheese. It had a strong olive oil flavor, extremely moist and delicious. We were seated at the bar and although it was a little tight, it was nice to be able to look around the decorated area behind the bar. Tons of vinyls and quirky decor. Then there are smash burgers which has been the craze for a few years already. Then there are burgers known for their sauce like the animal style sauce at In-N-Out . Burgers in SF can get cheesy . Everybody has any reason to say it's a better burger whether it's for the purple onions, pickles , or buns. There is a place which serves the Cali Burger. On a West Portal stroll there is a burger place which sells the Cali Burger. The Cali Burger means fresher ingredients usually locally sourced in California. Calibur is the place to get an organic grass fed burger. I got the double cheese burger with Calibur sauce. It was tasty and it had great flavor along with a soft bun. The fresh grass fed cheese burger pairs well to eat with cheese fries in SF. The fries were crispy and saucy and got a bit messy. Calibur also sells chili cheese dogs along with different flavors of shake including Neapolitan. Overall a good place to fresh grass fed cheese burger on a bun. You can get organic beef that's grass "fed"with Calibur sauce "spread" and a soft fresh bun "bread"although they don't have onion rings or purple onions you can get raw with yellow onions or the onions that are "red" The organic ingredients locally grown under the California "sun" get a grass fed cheeseburger medium or well "done" take a shot with Calibur and I ain't talking about a weapon like a "gun" but get something loaded with beef and cheese on a "bun"

I've been here quite a few times now, and it has honestly never let me down…read more I usually play it safe and order one of their burgers with fries which, to be fair, is hard to mess up--but on my most recent visit, I decided to try the monthly special: the Crispy Chicken Tacos. I'll admit, I was a little skeptical because it only came with two tacos, and I was starving. I almost ordered a second serving, but I'm so glad I didn't... or maybe I should have because they were that good. The chicken was perfectly crispy, and you could actually taste the hot honey without it overpowering everything else. It paired so well with the corn, slaw, and sauce, creating the perfect balance of sweet, savory, and fresh. And that squeeze of lemon on top? It brought everything together. Easily one of the best specials I've had in a while. One thing I also appreciated was how extensive the menu is. Since I almost always order a burger, I hadn't realized how many options they offer. My friend and I came with our kids, and everyone found something they were excited to eat, which made ordering easy. We grabbed one of the outdoor tables since we stopped by after the lunch rush on a weekday. The seating itself was nice, but be prepared to share the space with some very bold birds. One especially large bird was absolutely determined to steal our food. Obviously that's not the restaurant's fault, but it's worth mentioning if you're hoping for a quiet, uninterrupted meal outside. I can also see this place getting pretty hectic during peak hours, so if your schedule is flexible, I'd recommend stopping by outside the lunch rush. Overall, though, this spot continues to be one of my go-to places, and I'll definitely be back.
