They put cayenne pepper in there bbq and I got a bad allergic reaction from the bbq they should not use cayenne pepper

Brisket was on point, I got the moist and it was exactly that. Bark was set. And the meat was moist. The turkey is PHENOMENAL. Smokey flavor was there and so it the moisture. Was disappointed in our visit as I had heard great things. Pros- cute atmosphere. Very good bbq quesadillas. Cons- we were one of two customers there, and it took 45 minutes to get our food. The cheeseburger was the worst I've ever had in my life. Couldn't even eat it. The patty was over cooked and rock solid. They should prob just take that one off the menu. read more

That bbq baked potato is just wow! Their well smoked and peppered brisket makes this thing over the top. It has a thicker skin, they didn't skimp on loading it up with everything, and the sauce is really freaking good. I had their breakfast in the past, equally good, but downside is I didn't know that ordering a taco was actually 2, not mentioned on the menu. But they don't skimp on those either. We found this place just wandering around and we decided to give it a try. I had the 3 meat tray (brisket, ribs, and sausage) the two sides were Mac n cheese and fried okra. All of it was delicious! Then we had the opportunity to taste the pulled pork and the turkey, the turkey was out of this world great! Juicy and tender and full of flavor! i really wanted to love this place, but i could find it. the prices are way too high, i dont care how good the food is, if the portions don't fit the price, than i will say as much. the service was just meh unfortunately. the beans were good. i did like those. i had a stuffed baked potato, it was big, and would have been great had it been cooked all the way thru, and if perhaps they had given me extra butter like i had asked for. i would have loved the potato to be baked all the way through, it would have made this review maybe not come off so harsh. there were too many things that just couldnt bring me to a place of happiness here. i personally would find other places to eat before i went here again. read more

Brisket lacked taste, the rib texture was spongy, baked beans were dry, and potato salad as just off. Needless to say I will not go back.

I love that there is a drive-thru window. The sliced brisket sandwich was good and not loaded up with sauce so my bun wasn't soggy when I got home. The Key Lime Cheesecake was delicious. I definitely will go again when I visit the area. read more

Recently moved from a place with a few great barbecue places. One I had grown up with. Thought to give The Meating Place a try for a snack. I ordered the frito pie and it ended up being a meal! Not your typical frito pie. It was loaded with wonderful brisket and all toppings. It was wonderful and enough to share. We went in for dinner and ordered a few meat plates with all different sides. The food was fresh, meat was moist and tender and the service was excellent. This will be our go to barbecue spot! The owner visited our table a couple of times as well. Tried this place for the first time....wow! The brisket burrito was amazing! The portion ratio of br with beans, sour cream, cheese and sauce was great! What would make it even better homemade tortillas. I will return and check out the other menu items. We decide to order a smoke turkey this year and boy did we go wrong...it was dry!
