First time coming here and it was a very pleasant experience. I really enjoyed the vibe as well and it wasn't too crowded. Their was also a dj playing house music which I enjoyed and their was anime on the TVs. The food was also really delicious we ordered mushroom dumplings and I got the vegetarian ramen. If you want Bubble Tea, this is not the place. It has few offerings and they were out when we visited (which was the reason we went there). Bubble tea should be removed from this listing. It's a much better noodle bar than bubble tea spot. The ambiance is a fun, causal, hip place with a younger crowd. Decor is sparse industrial with high tops and tables. We went at night and they had very upbeat music, loud so conversations blended in with ambient sound. A nice vibe with exuberant energy. The ceiling installation of vertical 2by4 boards is well designed and beautiful in its simplicity. Also, a clever way to alter the noise level. Food is tasty but not spectacular. Bao bun was delicious and the waiter's excellent suggestion, when pressed to make one. The Pho Ga soup was succulent. The broth, with a sprig of Asian basil, mung beans, and fresh lime squirt, was tangy and tantalizing. But there was very little meat. The two pieces in the bowl were not shredded and overcooked. Spicy beef ramen was robust and totally enjoyable. Noodles firm. Vietnamese style hot coffee was strong and lip smacking. Thai iced tea also well made and flavors complemented each other. Sadly, the fried rice was so intensely salty a salt fanatic would not finish it. It had a tad too much oil which did not balance with the various salts in the dish. Almost though. Almost. Wait staff knew the menu well. But they were slightly arrogant and annoying in their blissful youthful ignorance. For example, showing frustration on their face, arguing with their boss in the dining room, forgetting an order and not being in control so as to be visibly annoyed constantly. When a customer double checks something after staff has made errors, there's no place for staff to be snarky even if they are 100% in the right. The front staff also was inexperienced and could not answer one simple question, "Where is parking?" This should be memorized by every staff member especially the host staff. Instead of answering the question, they literally babbled about what we could do without once saying where the parking was. The final answer was "Google it" We tried and there was no reception in the restaurant. So we Googled it outside and found a $34 dollar an hour garage. Staff clearly could have directed us to a less expensive garage--if they had experience which they admitted they did not. The dining room manager, on the other hand, was a total professional. She should be tapped to train staff in both keeping cool and service manners. She had an in charge sophisticated approach. I definitely recommend but foodies looking for "the experience" will need to open their mind to accepting GenZ service standards. Fun! read more

I came here in a big group of seven on a weeknight. It was pretty easy making a reservation. They have seating upstairs as well, which is where my friends and me were. Great music playing when we walked in the door, it was a busy place but a reasonable volume. We were promptly addressed by the hostess and told it would be a 15 minute wait, but it wasn't long at all. We were fine chilling out as we had left Trillium after a few beers in search of food, walked a half a mile and promptly decided waiting until 10:45pm was not an option and turned back around to come here, right next to Trillium. It's December so not warm. Doing great. Once we were seated, the waiter was actually a staff member that we were chatting with while waiting for a table. He was attentive, filled with great food suggestions, and the food came out swiftly and hot. I had the Smoke Show, which was a solid mescal margarita, and my fiancé had a IPA. For food starters, we went with the Kung Pao shrimp per his suggestion which was slightly spicy, crunchy with a sticky, sweet sauce. It was served on a bed of sticky coconut rice that was also delicious. Definitely a CAN'T MISS app. We also ordered a side of egg rolls that were also solid. For entrees we had the spicy beef ramen and the Pho Bo vien. The broths were both so full of flavor and the spicy beef was just spicy enough, served with a beautiful soft egg and perfectly cooked sliced brisket. I slurped every bit of that broth down! I will say (because this is personal preference and I never eat all the noodles) if we come back, I would order half noodles in the ramen because there was a lot of noodles. My fiancé enjoyed his pho as well, promptly dipping some of our remaining egg rolls in it, for a flavor and texture explosion. Highly recommend the edamame, but phos are too salty. Not so recommend considering the salty taste and high-price. The environment is nice and there's Naruto on TV. Service is also nice, we are asked if we need to order by two friendly waitors. We ordered an edamame, which is /roasted with garlic. The roasted flavor is just done to a turn! The beans are fresh, everything is perfect. However, the phos are not as good because it's too salty. You would put sprouts and lemons in it by yourself, which looks fresh and local. The ceiling are tall and have very cool hanging wood bars that should act to dampen the noise. However despite the really creative and cool design the music was just a bit loud so I ended up having to speak at an uncomfortable volume. Aye at the bar and the service from the bartender was great, he was extremely nice and happy to create any drink you wanted. He was also fairly attentive and made good conversation when he was around. The food came out reasonably quick without much wait. Mecha Noodle Bar is a casual yet chic Asian restaurant that certainly fits the "Seaport vibe." The menu includes a variety of Asian comfort foods and the atmosphere is upbeat/fun -- it's definitely not a "no frills" ramen/pho shop. Come here for the vibes, but if you're looking for really good ramen or pho or other Asian food, I'd probably walk over to Chinatown. Some thoughts on the food... The Pork Belly Bao was cold and the pork belly itself was thick, tough, and not very flavorful. The Tonkatsu Ramen was fine but there are other spots in the Boston area that do it better. Also, I wish I had known that the ramens came with different noodle types, as I wasn't a huge fan of the skinny / straight noodle that was in the tonkatsu. My friend had the Spicy Miso Ramen and said it was okay but not spicy at all. However, I was jealous that his ramen had thick / wavy yellow noodles. Note: their ramen was slightly cheaper than a lot of other ramen spots. I wasn't a fan of the bao buns because of the pork belly being really fatty. I KNOW that's how pork belly is, but it was a bit fattier than usual for me. However, the bun was nice and fluffy and toppings were fresh and light. The pho was AMAZING!! It's hard to find in MA and when I saw it on the menu I had to get it. It was a bowl of pure yumminess!! I did miss having a few jalapeños that typically come with the side fixings. The beef was also a bit different than what I'm used to. If you're in the area and on a time crunch their lunch time is great as it's a quick and tasty lunch without having to take out! It's a cozy spot with 2 floors that serves Asian fusion but not like any Asian fusion you've had before as the execution is done WELL! Like pho with short rib?! Come on. The pho king is one of my absolute favorites and something I always order as the pho broth is rich and decedent and the short rib is soft and tender. It always comes paired with the traditional sides of vegetables to garnish the soup. Appetizers here are always simply amazing!! I love the mushroom dumplings, something I've never had before. Almost like a creamy rich mushroom ravioli with this insane brown butter miso sauce to accompany it. The sweet and sauce short ribs are also to die for. But dinosaur like ribs in this succulent hoisin and tamarind sauce that's soooo addicting and the best part is the ribs are cooked to perfection!! This has to be a joke. I ordered the Thai tea, not spiked, no boba and it comes only about half way full. the bartender explains its that low because i asked for no boba. I would still be charged full price for the beverage. If I am still paying full price, I asked for them to put the boba in. This is my second time here.
