It's not a bad place if you work around the area or visiting the children's museum. It actually looks nice inside and I love the design in the ceilings. 1. Pho tai Bo vien was okay but soup base is not authentic. It is about 80% of the way there but for the location it is convenient and you don't have to drive to Dorchester. Beef slices were tender but meatballs were super salty. I did have an issue with the pho which I will discuss at the end. 2. Pork and sticky rice were solid. Rice taste as it should but pork was dry and salty 3. Spicy chicken wings did not taste spicy at all just salty. Notice any trend? Despite all this I still enjoyed the meal until I found a strand of black hair buried underneath my pho noodles half way through. At that point I can: A. Take the hair out and keep eating B. Make a scene and tell waiteress I want a refund C. Kindly ask waitress for a new bowl I went with option C. She was understanding, apologetic, handled the situation well and offered replacement right away. Where they went wrong is the guy with the orange shirt who brought out the new bowl. He did apologize as well but as he was walking away, he said hi to my baby on the highchair and made a comment "oh you have a lot of hair!" I was a bit confused for his intent behind this comment. Is he trying to say my son is big and cute? Or is he insinuating something about my son's hair falling in the soup? He has brown hair and the soup had black hair btw. Regardless it was a poorly time comment especially when you just had an issue about hair in your soup base. Communication is key and it caught me off guard so I did not question his intent immediately as he was walking away but it was ambiguous enough to make me pause and motivated me to write this review. When it's time to pay waitress actually brought us the wrong check on top of all the chaos. Then they bring you a mobile payment system and stand to wait as you select the tip. The lowest auto default is 20% so if you want to do 15% you would need to calculate it yourself. read more

I like the ambience inside. The place smells like pho, which is always a good sign. Super spacious and finding a seat was relatively easy and fast. The service was not what I expected. Our food took a long time to come, about an hour, while people who came after us got their food first The food was great when it did come out. I ended up getting the tonkotsu ramen (not pictured), and really enjoyed it.The plates were my favorite detail since it reminded me of Vietnam. I love Mecha Noodle Bar! I went with friends in March for Dine Out Boston and had such a great time I brought my mom and her friend for Dine Out Boston in August. The decor and ambience is great and the selection for the Dine Out Boston menu was great and also with some nice changes for both times I visited. The mecha mule drink was great along with the KFC bao I had. The Mala Stir Fry was flavorful and just the right amount of spiciness for me. Went here for a noodle lunch. We have been to the location in West Hartford, before we moved to MA and this location was definitely on par with that restaurant. We got a nice seat by the window. Their Pho Bo Vien is comforting, with a rich broth and tender meatballs. I added marrow oil to mine for a flavor boost. Their Coconut Shrimp Bao Buns are a yummy blend of soft buns and crispy shrimp. I was told that the Mecha Noodle Bar's spicy beef ramen has perfectly balanced heat makes each bite enjoyable, although less spicy than expected. The Thai Iced Tea is sweet and refreshing, complemented perfectly by chewy Boba. Our service was decent, however we didn't receive our drinks until after we received our appetizer and main courses. Mecha Noodle Bar was recommended to me by a friend. There are multiple locations in CT, MA, DC, and OH. This location is close to Boston's Seaport. The restaurant is very spacious and modern. There are small tables and long tables which are great for groups and date night. We walked in without a reservation and were brought to a table soon after. The server asked if it was our first time here and we said yes. He was very welcoming and told us a little bit about the restaurant's history. He also told us which items were unavailable like the Thai iced tea. The menu is easy to follow and has cute drawings like ramen coming out of a game console. We ordered the coconut shrimp steamed buns which had chili lime sauce, cilantro, pickles. The bun was fresh and it was a shrimp patty in the bun. It was different from what I was expecting when I read coconut shrimp steamed buns on the menu. I was expecting coconut shrimp in the bun. It was tasty, just different from what I expected. I had the pho bo vien which is pho with rare beef and beef meatballs. My entree arrived later than my husbands since the server felt it wasn't hot enough and sent it back. To me, the broth was a lot saltier than I am used to and the noodle/ingredient ratio wasn't good. My husband ordered the tonkotsu ramen and it tasted good, but again the noodle/ingredient ratio was not equal. It is nice that Mecha Noodle Bar offers both ramen and pho since most restaurants is only 1 or the other. Next time, I would probably stick with the ramen and not get the pho. read more

I have been to the Seaport location twice now and I have to say, this second time around was not as good as the initial time. The ramen sizes are a generous portion and are pretty solid, in taste. An item on their menu that is not so great is their boba drinks, spiked and not spiked versions. The drinks are bland, the boba is not chewy but is not cooked well; I would honestly avoid their boba if you actually have had boba before. 6.5-7/10 for ramen & 2/10 for the boba drinks. The wings seemed to be dry rub and all the seasoning hits you all at once on the first bite, however, the chicken itself is bland and didn't seem marinated. All the flavor is from the skin. 4/10. The red chili dumplings are also not what I expected either. These dumplings are fried, similar tasting to the fried dim sum with bland filling. 3/10. The staff is nice and very helpful, and overall vibe in here is chill! I would eat here again in the future, just would only order the ramen. read more

I've been here a few times and loved the food each time. The first time, we ordered the bone marrow pho and smash burger as recommended by the server and both were delicious. The noodle portion sizes are a good size. The next time we came, we got come handrolls and dumplings. This restaurant is a good place for both quick bites but also a filling meal and the prices are reasonable! Food was delicious. Pork was crispy, fatty, tender. Which is the trifecta for pork belly. Am I right? Came w/ sticky rice, cucumbers, jalapeños, pickled daikon and jeow for dipping. Solid dish. For food we ordered the Kani Hand Roll (amazing!), roasted mushroom dumplings (even the person who doesn't like mushrooms liked these), Shoyu Paitan Ramen (very good), but the vegan one (a spicy curry not listed on the menu) was rated as the best by all 3 of us. No taste worst ever Vietnamese food of my life plus the rush, fast food service waiting for the next table to get more tip and then you ask them for more basil. They said oh we're out of it. They don't bring you anything for the soups one basil leaf very very bad. I would not recommend that to anyone waste of your money, just go there have a maybe a drink listen to their stupid music forgot to mention the chicken they put in. It is quite interesting restaurant which serves many noodle based dishes from several countries. My first take was that they could not be good for everything. But I was surprised that the dishes we ordered were quite decent. We had poutine (good but I don't think you are going to get this in Japan), Mala stir fry (surprisingly quite good), and Pho Bo (a solid Vietnamese noodle soup). The deco in this place is really hip, and the service is also good. Maybe next time I will come to try their ramen. read more

The meat was a little too tough and the flavor was underwhelming. The appetizers, however, were amazing. We ordered the sweet & sour ribs. I could have eaten a whole rack of these. The other appetizer we got was the roasted mushroom dumplings, which were equally delicious. Go on Monday and the appetizers are half off. Service is friendly and fast. Really cool ambience. All the HipHop playing and 90s action movies make me think of my childhood. It's a good place to grab a drink, snacks, and a bowl of noodles for a decent price. I especially miss the New Haven location because I remember the bar being a bit cooler. Here is why I knock down a star: When compare to their neightbors (chinatown), their noodles is just okay and price point is more expensive. I understand it's nicer neighhood and works out if you want to grab a quick lunch.
