Was this the coolest place we stopped in Boston, yeah maybe. We came after dinner for cocktails and were so surprised by this wildly cool vibe just in what seems like a random corner restaurant. The cocktails were fun and different on top of being delicious. The bartender was so nice and helpful with suggestions and explanations. Our only regret is being too full to try the food because no doubt it was incredible.

Of all the restaurants we tried during our recent trip to Boston, Mr. H was our favorite. My husband was skeptical about trying it as he thought some of the menu items were unusual. When he took a closer look, he saw that many items were worth trying. The ambiance definitely says "Chinese restaurant" in an upscale sort of way. Mr. H serves small plates (think "Chinese tapas"). We went on a weeknight when they open at 5 p.m. and were immediately seated and greeted. Our server was friendly, efficient, and well-versed regarding the menu. He told us that for two people, three to four small plates would be just right. We quickly found ourselves in agreement on which three items to order. There's a section of the menu that lists Polynesian-inspired items. From that section, we ordered "Crab Rangoons" which consist of: "charred scallion cream cheese, jalapeno, hot sweet and sour sauce, sesame". The Crab Rangoons were huge! Never have I seen any so big. We were given four of them. Despite having jalapenos in the mix, they weren't overly spicy, which was fine with us. They came to the table piping hot. We also ordered "chicken fingers," which were also listed in the Polynesian section of the menu. They consist of: "Bob Lee's batter, Mr. H duck sauce, Chinese hot mustard, Sichuan pepper salt". I guess that the batter got its name from the long-defunct Bob Lee's Islander, which was in Chinatown. These chicken fingers were quite plump. I remarked to my husband that they looked like little corn dogs. They, too, arrived piping hot. We both availed ourselves of the dipping sauces, all of which were quite good. For the third plate, we got "Mushroom fried rice" which consists of: "smoked basmati, king trumpet, wood ear and shiitake, ong choy (which I found out is also called "water spinach" in Mandarin Chinese) sprouts, eggs and Yuxiang garlic sauce." This rice was amazing. It was fluffy and moist with all the flavors working very well together. After we placed our order, our server asked if we would like some hot tea. I said "yes". At first, my husband said "no" because he had ordered a Tsingtao non-alcoholic beer. When I told him how much I was enjoying the Milky Oolong tea, he asked if we could share it - of course, we could and did. This is a very mild tea that has no bitterness. We both liked it so much that when we got home, we ordered some online. It just came today, and we look forward to brewing it. We didn't have any dessert so we can't speak to that. Both of us felt we had had enough to eat. We would gladly come back here next time we're in town. The restaurant prepares food for the eye as well as the palate.

Food was good, ambiance was good. Definitely gives grown and sexy. The food took a while, we went on a Saturday night it took about an hour and a half to receive the food. I would go back though!

We were happy to get a last min rez for my hubby's birthday. It wasn't super crowded which we expected cause it was a Monday. Upon walking in the host was super friendly and the decor is striking. We were seated right away. It didn't take long for our server to offer us water. We ordered a couple of cocktails-they were tasty. The food options were interesting. We ordered the spicy cucumbers to start and they were delicious. For dinner we shared the house fried rice (I ordered the mushroom fried rice but they brought the wrong one and I didn't want to deal with it) and the chicken dumplings. My hubby ordered the lobster too. Everything was tasty. I ordered the cake to go and it was sooooo good. I'm giving Mr. H 4 stars cause of the service. It was pretty slow. I even had to ask for more water, I know - what a travesty. It seemed like there was one server for the entire restaurant although several staff were standing nearby. I get that the restaurant wasn't super busy but still. I did appreciate that we weren't rushed out of there tho. We would def go back again. When you're in the area, check it out for yourself. It's a pretty popular spot.

After a night of drinking, my friends wanted to eat here. It was my first time and I really love the decor (don't like it dark, but nice otherwise). Hien was super awesome, I asked her to pick out a drink for me, Hong Kong Tea. It was nice and strong. Then got me the Mushroom Cheung Fun, which I was afraid to be vegan for the night, but she added the Siu Mei Steak. This helped alot and really added flavor to the cheung fun (please make a steak version!). Definitely plan to be back, but early enough to see some light.

Another beautiful concept from the COJE group! As expected, Mr H is stunning and very instagrammable. Service was great too. They were professional & kind. They do tapas-style plates, so we ended up trying the below: 1. Soup Dumplings ($21) - Damn good pork soup dumplings but you only get four unfortunately. Dumpling Sauce + Chili Oil combo was A+ though. 2. Spicy Cucumbers ($13) - Loved these! The sauce they were seasoned with was so good, and these cucumbers make a nice snack while sipping on a cocktail. 3. Popcorn Spareribs ($16) - Delicious! They're spicy, savory and crisped to perfection. 4. Siu Mei Steak ($28) - A tad dry but good condiments. Main issue is they give you 4 pieces of just okay steak for $28 which seems like robbery. Would not get this one again. 5. "Cake-Out" Box ($18) - one of the best slices of cake I've had in a while. The lychee & coconut flavors were divine, and the cake was so moist. Also, the concept of serving it in a take out box is so clever. 11/10. Overall, Mr. H is overpriced for what you get, but still a cool spot to try out.

Hands down best dinner I had in Boston but you better reserve a seat if you're a party of more than 4 because they book up quick! Beautifully decorated on the inside you are sure to have an elevated experience. Servers are friendly and helpful. All of the food came out quickly and was served family style. There wasn't a dish we didn't like and we ordered a lot (so much that the waiter offered us a free dessert if we could finish)! Little did we know we had 3 pounds of noodles coming with the Cantonese fried chicken. Little did he know we were up for the challenge ha! From the scallion pancakes to the dumplings.m, everything was delicious. We finished our plates and had just enough room to try the dessert. I will definitely be back.

The interior is beautiful, but I'm not sure if this place will last long. The food is awful. Popcorn Spareribs $16 Crispy boneless pork, jalapeno, crispy garlic, Sichuan pepper salt Juicy and soft, but over-tenderized, so it lost its pork flavor. It is similar to Taiwanese popcorn chicken. Oysters Mee Sua $19 Grilled Chatham Oysters, vermicelli wheat noodles, spicy bonito butter, basil & cilantro After one bite, big no no, that way too salty. When the waiter asked how the food was, we told him it was salty; he just took it away without asking for feedback. At least this dish was not added to our bill, and our waiter did not mention anything until we saw the bill. Chocolate Buddha $20 Dark chocolate oolong mousse, mochiko brownie, black sesame-cookies n' cream ice cream, fresh berries in hibiscus sauce, dark chocolate, red velvet pocky It is creative and nicely presented, but the black sesame ice cream was not smooth and lacked the distinct flavor of black sesame. The mousse lacked both chocolate and oolong flavors.

We had an early dinner at Mr. H and really had an amazing time! Very impressed by the upscale atmosphere and intricate décor--but still a welcoming environment. This is a good place to visit since it is modern and stylish with Asian flare. Prices could be better. Frank W. was our server, and he was amazing! He's super personable, gave great recommendations, and checked in on us regularly. He was also really funny. When we come back we hope we get to have him as our server again! Regarding the food--it was incredible. Everything was flavorful and made with fresh and high quality ingredients. We ordered several dishes including the Spicy Cucumbers (recommended by Frank--good rec!), Soup Dumplings, Pork Dumplings, Popcorn Spareribs, Duck Dan Dan Noodles, and the Cantonese Fried Chicken (comes with noodles and is a good portion to share with 3-4 people). For dessert, we got the Chocolate Buddha--it was fun and creative, but also delicious. The presentation was 10/10. Definitely recommend checking Mr. H out--it's a good spot for a night out!

Updating my review after having some difficulty cotacting the restaurant in the past. I was able to try Mr H, a member of my favorite restaurant group Coje, and overall it was pretty good. The drinks were pretty and enjoyable, and the scallion pancakes were delicious. Comparably, I agree with others that seasoning is a bit off on some items on the menu. While we enjoyed the fried rice, the soup dumplings lacked flavor and the dandan noodles were a bit too salty. What compensates for the food is the atmosphere and the staff. Our waitress was kind and courteous, and checked in with us several times. The interior is beautiful, and is perfect for dates and nights out with friends. Overall, I would come back for certain items on the menu but not others because I was hoping for a bit more "wow" given the price point and Coje's reputation.

If you're looking for vibes, this is the place to go. It's perfect for a nice out with your friends or a date, has mood lighting and great decor. The service was also really great. The only reason I didn't rate it higher was the food itself was overtly salty (Dandan Noodles) or had no flavor at all (pork dumplings). For the amount you're paying, I would hope for better tasting food. It's very overpriced, $18 for 4 mediocre dumplings. This is one of the only places that does late night food that we found in the area so we were grateful to eat. However, we won't be going there again unless it's for drinks

Ambiance brought this review to close to 3 star. Once in a while you eat at an establishment, mind you seaport and higher end, but feel like you lost money and leave unsatisfied looking for another spot to eat at. The service was fine, they were busy on the weekend. We were seated promptly and staff were nice. On the order ticket Bobo bass - thought the seafood was the highlights, but expecting a fillet or steaks of seabass but got little cute cubes i suppose. Dandan noodz - MY goodness my goodness, the sodium was astronomical on this dish. Mind you I usually like things on the saltier side but this was just overboard. The duck sausage was like turkey sausage consistency ground up. And the sauce (usually chili oil and pb or something along those lines) was a salty, watery mess. Fried spareribs - reminds me of popcorn chicken. I'm very surprised that it wasn't crispy but had decent flavor Siu Mei steak cooked well, tough to cut thru with knife provided but flavor was pretty balanced. Honey prawns - liked the sweet chili sauce that came with it and the shrimp was cooked well but my goodness what is up with the fried batter here, everything collapsed to mush when you eat it no crunch or crispy at all. Spicy cucumbers - cucumbers seemed left out and prepped in the morning or something. Gyu Kaku spicy cucumber better. Wang shou wings- again fried crispy wings ...: NOT crispy unfortunately. The mushroom salt and excessive honey have a weird aftertaste to the dish. Celebration cocktail was pretty good. And drinks of the night (don't remember the names). All in was close to $350 with tip. Not worth it imo. Probably good for some folks tastebuds but for my party that evening it was a "no from me dawg." - Randy Jackson.

The layout encourages ordering several dishes for the table, and the variety across the menu makes it easy to build a meal that feels different with each visit. The small plates are the biggest draw because they let you try a wide range of flavors without committing to a single entrée. The pork belly buns are one of the signature dishes, featuring tender pork inside soft steamed buns with a balance of sweet and savory flavors. The dan dan noodles are another standout with their rich, spicy sauce, while the Brussels sprouts have developed a strong following thanks to their crispy texture and bold seasoning. Will definitely find a reason to come back here soon. ------ FOOD: 1. [MUST TRY] STIR-FRIED CABBAGE W/ PORK BELLY (5/5) Presentation was phenomenal (in a clay pot with its own burner underneath to keep it hot). The portion was much larger than expected, and most importantly, it tasted incredible. Generous amounts of pork in this, and the sauce was authentic and addicting. 2. SCALLION CHICKEN (5/5) Another great choice. This was a huge portion with lots of tender chicken, and the scallion was present without being overpowering. 3. CRISPY BEEF WITH FRIED DOUGH STICKS (5/5) I was expecting Chinese you tiao but these were actually the small, ultra crispy manhua twists! Paired with the beef, this was a large and unique dish that I loved. The crispiness of the mahua made this a textural delight to eat. 4. MANGO SAGO DESSERT (5/5) Big portion, wonderful assortment of toppings including grapefruit, mango, sago, and popping balls over a creamy dessert soup base. 5. PEKING DUCK (4/5) I think I'm a tough critic since I just came back from Beijing and had so much Peking duck there. We ordered the half portion here and it had a generous amount of meat for not being the full portion. There were an assortment of accompaniments, including pineapple (new to me) and sugar (like the Beijing style) which were welcome additions. The wrappers were steamed well and didn't curl up on the edges. Overall this was a solid Peking duck, but the meat wasn't as standout as I was hoping. 6. STEAMED PORK SOUP DUMPLING (4/5) Solid soup dumplings. Not the best I've ever had, but definitely hit the spot. 7. SAUTEED PEA SPROUTS (4/5) Another solid classic. 8. PORK MEATBALL IN CRAB MEAT SAUCE (4/5) This was the most unique thing we ordered. I've never had a shi zi tou meatball with crab meat sauce before. The meatball itself was large (maybe size of a tennis ball), tender, and fatty, as it should be. It was then drowned in a generous lake of traditional crab meat sauce. If you're not a fan of crab meat then this might be a bit too fishy for you, but honestly it all combined surprisingly well and I grew to like this dish more and more with each bite. I wasn't the biggest fan to start, but by the end I wouldn't have minded getting another one! ------ AMBIANCE / ENVIRONMENT: * The interior has the classic Asian style of decor, but you can tell it was recently built / renovated because everything felt new and fresh. * The ambiance also felt more new-school luxurious vs. the typical Asian establishments that are more no-frills with as many tables packed in as possible * You're still somewhat close to the tables around you, but it's not overwhelming during lunch time and we still felt like we had enough space regardless * There's a bar area at the front of the restaurant and then a large, spacious dining room in the back * This is a great place for a date or a meaningful family gathering * Right outside is Boston Common, making this restaurant very well-located for lunch before or after a nice day in the park. While there's lots of parking around the park, a spot itself can be hard to come by, so your best bet might be to use the nearby parking garage instead ------ SERVICE: * Overall the service was great and quick. They did forget our tea, but when we asked for it later they apologized profusely and were quick to bring it out for us * This place fills up quickly so be sure to come early if you don't have a reservation or if you're a big enough group, make a reservation for your desired dining time

The menu leans pan-Asian with a big focus on sushi, small plates, and shareable dishes. There's a lot of variety, so it's easy to order a mix of things for the table. The sushi is fresh and nicely presented, and the specialty rolls feel creative without being overcomplicated. The hot dishes are flavorful and come out well-timed, which makes sharing easy and enjoyable. We tried the Peking duck, which was flavorful and similar to other high-quality versions we've had in the past. The mapo tofu was also good, though not as numbing as we would've liked. Service is generally attentive and professional, and the staff handles larger tables and busy nights well. Overall, Empire is a solid Seaport go-to if you're looking for Asian food, cool ambiance, and a fun night out.

We a Big crew, we love fun and as a family we hang out together. Now, 2 of our fellows, kinda tipsy but not on the drunk scale. I know their rowdy limits. 2 cousins, male, head out to the washrooms, but just being cousins and having a blast, perhaps the 'security' bouncers got it wrong. Story is way funnier than typed. These two fellas go to the washroom and all of a sudden, giant sharp bouncer, kinda AD's hieght shows up, behind K's perphral and is like... 'You guys gotta go!' K is like :what's up!' Just laughs man & P's like: What did we do??? right on his face looking up at the security while taking a leakMaaannnn!!! This was so hilarious and it happened at the washroom. Sh'ts funniest getting kicked out at a lounge. Make it funnier, some of our fam is at the rooftop, having a good time and all of a sudden getting called down to be booted out the lounge while us at the lounge are confused about what is going on!! How could it be man! All in all, we laughed about it at the street out the lounge tipsy for the night tracing our way back to the Marina to the yatch For the drinks...not the best in town. XO Seafood Udon: The restaurant specifically labeled it "wok-tossed," and it truly had a wonderful wok-hei鑊氣 (wok aroma), with an irresistible fragrance as soon as it arrived at the table. The XO sauce was extremely rich, sweet and umami, and the udon noodles were soft on the outside and bouncy on the inside; the sauce was glossy, smooth, but not greasy, allowing it to coat the noodles evenly and infuse them with flavor. The shrimp, squid, and scallops were all fresh and large, making for a very satisfying meal. The shrimp, in particular, were coated with a thin layer of starch before being pan-fried, adding layers of texture and locking in the juices. This plate removed the scallions and onions to suit my taste, and if you like spicy food, adding a little chili oil would greatly enhance the flavor. The restaurant had an elegant and refined ambiance, and the service was attentive, making it a very relaxing place.

WOW! An awesome experience!!! I went here for my birthday…read morewith my parents and boyfriend, and this had been on my want to go list for years, and I am so glad I can finally cross it off! When I made the reservation online I put that the occasion it was for was my birthday- I notice that most restaurants don't pay attention to this on OpenTable, but Fuji definitely did! We were seated quickly and with no issue at all, despite it being pretty crowded. The vibe was intimate and classy- a great spot for date night, or for dinner with your parents. At our table was a card (in the pictures) which was such a nice touch and was a great start to the meal. Our waitress was awesome, and it seemed like there was a floor manager too that was making sure everyone was happy. It felt like the staff truly cared and wanted to make sure everyone was having a good time and experience. Our waitress checked in on us multiple times, and was very helpful with the menu. Speaking of the menu, I was very pleased to see the amount of vegetarian dishes! You don't see that often at Japanese restaurants! For our appetizers we got the lobster Rangoon and spicy edamame. Technically the tofu is an app but you would never guess that from the portion size. The edamame were outstanding! They were spicy as expected and were so tasty. We demolished the whole bowl. The Rangoons were also amazing- the chunks of lobster were divine. I myself love lobster and crab Rangoons, so a combo?! Amazing. Both the edamame and lobster Rangoons are can't misses. For our entrees/ mains we got the crispy soy noodles, miss Waldorf roll, sweet potato roll, tofu, and fried rice. The miss Waldorf roll is amazing, and I can not wait to go back and get more sushi. Truly the best sushi I have had in boston. There are other upscale sushi restaurants I have been to that charge a pretty penny but taste like grocery store sushi. Fuji is not one of those- it was truly exceptional sushi. The sweet potato roll was also delicious! I am very picky about my sweet potato rolls and had one that I have dreamt about since I had it in 2022. I have finally found a sweet potato roll that matches my standards. The crispy soy noodles were also amazing! They reminded e of one of my favorite restaurants when I was a kid and it filled me with such joy to eat something with that flavor. The serving size was pretty big too, and they were not shy on the shrimp! Note though, they were a tad oily (I added a little bit of soy sauce to balance it out). The fried rice was also very good and tasted like a good bowl of comfort fried rice. My parents ate it with the tofu and liked it! The only dish I would want some change in is the tofu- it wasn't bad but compared to the other dishes it definitely lacked the flavor punch you get in the rest of the dishes. The sauce was okay with it. After dinner our waitress brought a slice of vanilla crepe cake and ice cream! This was such a nice touch and it was SO good!!!!! It was the first time I ever had crepe cake but I loved it! I'm not sure if they have a dessert menu or not (we weren't asked if we wanted to see one) but I would love to go back and get that cake again! Overall I am beyond happy that I picked this spot for my birthday- I had an amazing experience and amazing food. Will definitely be back!

This place is popping! Even though it was later in the evening, the restaurant was still really full. However we didn't have to wait too long to get seated. I loved the decor in here, such neat details and even a column with a dragon on it! So cool. It's a dark restaurant so it was hard to read the menu, but otherwise, it's a very cool vibe here and feels very lounge-y. Our server was awesome, he was friendly and explained the restaurant style to us - it's like tapas, you order a few items to share and recommended 2 - 3 items per person would be sufficient. It was only 2 of us and we shared 3 items total, and that was more than enough. We apparently arrived so late that our server informed us that we only had a short time before the kitchen was closing for the night. But he said that he would return before the kitchen closed in case we wanted to order additional menu items. We were intrigued by the Japanese/Peruvian fusion menu and tried a few things: Kuromitsu Brussel Sprouts Spicy Salmon Fritas Bo Bo Chicken I was most excited about the Bo Bo Chicken a it had a sichuan chili oil and I love spicy, but it was not spicy at all (to me). But the flavor was really good. My favorite was the Brussels sprouts. I loved the char on them and the ginger black honey on it was so good. I don't eat salmon, but my friend said the Salmon Fritas was great and really enjoyed them. I would say this was the best meal we had on our trip!
