Got 2 half sandwiches; one with no tomato, no onion. The one labeled "no tomato, no onion" actual had both of those as opposed to the one not labeled. Roast beef was not overwhelming, no pickles, no mustard. Not a lot of flavor. And not worth $11.26 (just the 2 1/2s). Bread was good read more

Just not good! The bread is gross and the meats are not very good either. They put very little filling in the sandwiches so all you have are wads of bread. Salads are totally overpriced. read more

An ok lunch option. Sandwiches come with a lot of bread. Flavors are on the bland side and not many options for toppings. Romaine lettuce, tomato and mayo.... That's about it. Another local business that has grown comfortable and complacent in their standing in the community and let their quality slide knowing people will still come. Most of the time I just drive by since there's no parking and I'm passing by here on my way home from work. If you can't provide customers parking, then I can't really give you my money. On the other hand, when I do go in, the entire operation is highly inefficient. If there are 5+ people in line the 8 workers in the back are still going to continue whatever loud and likely inappropriate for work conversation they are having in the prep area. Today one was talking about how "she was sorry she was mean but she just needed a cigarette". I mean that's fine and all, but maybe talk about that where the customers can't clearly hear your conversation? But bad service is pretty much the norm in downtown Oly, so what else is new? The sandwiches. Well...they used to be well worth the money. Then the price went up, the amount of meat was just about halved, and the sandwiches are still made just as carelessly as ever. I really hope if you get it to go you plan to eat the sandwich immediately. By the time you drive anywhere, get back to work, get home, etc., not only will the entire wrapper be soaked in oil, but the bread will have become incredibly soggy from this. Again, careless preparation by unprofessional immature employees. Not even sure if they have a boss. Sure doesn't look like it. I'll still drop in from time to time, but to be quite honest after many years of eating Meconi's I now legitimately believe the better sub comes from Jimmy John's. Much more meat that tastes disturbingly similar to Meconis, meal is done in seconds, always have two registers working, employees are more friendly, etc. I'd rather support a local business, but I absolutely will not support them if their food is worse than a national chain's. I'd reflect on that and make some changes, but again, why bother? People will still give Meconi's money no matter how much their quality declines. read more

It looks like a hole in the wall and it kind of is but the sandwiches are incredible. The bread is unlike any other. They have both wheat and white but you have to ask for the wheat. There is usually a line during lunch but it moves fast. If you are in a hurry call your order in a head of time and you can skip the line. read more

Ditto all the good things people say -- great subs, everything is always fresh and good quality; service is efficient and friendly. But, the best thing about it, is it's just a good old fashioned LOCAL unassuming business. I finally tried this place at the urging of coworkers. Since the name is "Meconi's Italian Subs, 'From the East Coast,'" and I've had Italian subs in New York, I had to try one of their's. It was a basic Italian sub with salami, capicola, and veggies on a white roll. It was okay, but nothing to jump up and down about. There was a lot of bread, very little meat, and it was dry. I did notice on the menu that they use Hormel meats. When I think of Hormel I think back to the time I was driving by the meat processing plants in Omaha in the middle of the night -- what a horrible smell. Oops...I digress. Anyway, not a bad sub -- not a great sub. I will probably give it another shot since the people at work seem to think they're the best. read more

The only thing I've had here is the Philly Cheesesteak and it was plain and dry. It didn't have any sauce on it at all and that's most of what they cheesesteak is about. My daughter got the pizza sub and it was just pepperoni and cheese. They subs are totally something I could just throw together at home-nothing special. The prices are decent but there are lots of other sub shops I could spend the same amount at and get much better. The staff was super-nice and our food got out really quick though so that's a plus. read more

Simply the best! Hands down the best sub shop I've been to here in the local area and one of the best I've been to EVER. They just do it right. Fresh ingredients, fast service, friendly/accommodating staff. They have the entire package. My go-to favorite? The Italian with no onions and light mayo. But really, you can't go wrong with any of their subs. Just be prepared to wait in line, because this place is always packed! But that's just a testament to how good they are. This is the best sandwich shop I've ever been to! Every true Olympian knows what I'm talking about!!! The bread is fantastic, everyone there is friendly, and you get a great deal for your money (about the same cost as Subway-across the street, ugh) in the amount of toppings you get on your sandwich. I suppose the fact that they sprinkle a few flakes of stale oregano on the finished sandwich makes it an "Italian Sub". What about actually using a few cuts of Italian meats (Capicola, Finocchiona, Prosciutto) a proper vinaigrette, maybe a few leaves of fresh basil? I've always been a fan of Meconi's, but today they came to my rescue! The catering that I ordered from another company didn't show up, and an hour after it was supposed to have been delivered, I called Meconi's in a panic. They had food in my office inside 20 minutes, and we were actually able to eat before the meeting ended. I'm so thankful they were able to step in and save the day! read more

this place has been a staple since my college days 8 years ago. i've since come back due to my rotations in the area. theyre subs are HUGE. fresh quality ingredients from the meats they use to the condiments .. and everything in between. i think the last sub i ate was the italian and my oh my it was delicious. the salami and capicola, i die. i think i would opt not for the onions and lighter on the mayo due to personal preference but those are easily changeable. drinks and chips are an additional charge and the subs are a little spendy for a whole but it is sooooooo worth it. i can't wait to come back :]]] read more

Wow. Not sure how this place gets anything less than five stars. I've been coming here for 20 years and it's always good and always fast. The employees at the Lacey location are awesome. They're consistently friendly and helpful, and always willing to go the extra mile. On the extremely rare occasions (it's happened two or three times in two decades for me) when they mis-make a sub, they fix it, no questions asked. I highly recommend Meconi's and will be a customer for life. read more
