I cannot speak for the food or service but I just wanted to warn y'all that when I arrived they gave me a TRANSITIONAL MENU. It only had a couple of options and the main "entrees" was just a burger or fish and chips. They said it was to transition between brunch and dinner. This was 3-4pm. It did not say that anywhere on the website and it was just really inconvenient because I did not want to just pick from those little options. So if you want to try this place be sure to not come between 3 and 4pm!!!!! read more

Last night we had a large party for a birthday dinner. It was an exceptional experience. They were very easy to work with and very accommodating ahead of time. The service was excellent and we had no issues despite having so many people ordering at different times with the small plates. My food was absolutely amazing! Colin was my waiter and helped me figure out my carafe of mimosas bc I'm not a huge fan of orange juice when it's mixed with champagne. Took a huge load off my stress! The food. Absolutely amazing oh my gosh. My boyfriend ordered the Mother and Child Reunion. As a concerned party in the food he eats, I tried it too! Hahahaha it was amazing. It's so easy to get grits wrong but they did it so perfectly! And the jalapeño gravy seriously paired with it all perfectly! The chicken is served at a GREAT portion! Cooked and seasoned to perfection you feel bad if you don't eat it all at your sitting haha I ordered the French toast sandwich and wowzer!!! Serious brunch on a plate!!!! We had a great time! My sisters and I stopped to get cocktails and a snack before going to City View Antique's Open House. The cocktails were perfect and blue cheese kettle fries were excellent. Warning: Don't let the hostess sit you to close to the paper ripper! They use paper table covers which is brilliant, but if sit to close to the roll of paper that is being ripped it is annoying. I'm going to try to be as fair as I can here. I have this place in my bucket list for some now. I arrived here with my girlfriend summoned by a good friend for brunch. We were a group of six in total. I believe only two of them have been here previously. So I have no idea what is this place about other than what it's showed here in yelp. I'll say the reviews got me 70-20 in favor. So I was already somewhat pump. Parking was not the best necessarily if you ask me. Visually outside wasn't a wow. To me was just another structure. Inside once we can see the vibe my excitement grew. Decor was really cool modern contemporary, dark and loud. Not to the point of not being able to have conversation. But enough to change my vibe a little. No line or crowds. It was maybe a solid 30 percent filled. So in my opinion it wasn't horrible for a 12:00 brunch!? Front lady got us a table at a far corner of the restaurant where have perfect view of the patio and also inside (we sat inside). We got our water, server allowed us sometime to explore the menu, took our order and brought our drinks. So far so ok! Our drinks came pretty fast I must say and were really good. The menu looks delicious. So I'm more hyped but also trying not to have any sort of expectations. By the way, this is straight American cosine. Not a French or one of those exotic Asia-Italian fusion kinda restaurant the we see now days. So by this time we have our drinks we are chatting, having a good time. I've been noticing a lack of interest from our server. But I let go because at this point I think Im overthinking it. So our food arrives. Looks delightful! I grab the tools. Dig in! .... .... .... From hyped to disappointment really quick. From French toast sandwich to chicken and grits we tried literally half of the "brunchables". There was nothing wrong with the presentation of the food. In fact if it were for presentation I'll give 'em the five stars hands down! But the truth of the matter was that salt and pepper were absent. Lack of flavor, garlic, jalapeño, butter... if in the menu a dish says jalapeño it need to taste like it. I ask the table what do they thought about their dishes. And their response was the exact same. Drinks were good. The food has vision but lack of flavor. As far of our server. I asked the table what did they thought about it. And to my surprise they actually felt also left out. She was friendly, in a rush. It didn't have personality and it didn't felt like she was enjoying serving in general. The place poses a LOT of potential! But idk if I could honestly recommend this place. As for me I love food and great experiences. This was my first time here on business. I came here because this place was highly rated on Yelp. I am glad I did. I arrived early solo without a reservation. I was lucky to be seated at a nice table for two. I started with their Noble Bird cocktail with vodka, elderflower liquor, cucumber, lime, simple syrup and sparkling wine for $12. I ordered the PEI mussels dinner special with ginger, sake broth, ponzu, lime with crusty baguette for $16. I also ordered the herb crusted bone marrow roasted broccolini for $9. The broccolini was truly amazing. I finished my meal with the Deschutes Black Butte XXIX imperial porter on draft for $9. It has flavors of cocoa, Saigon cinnamon, and cayenne, aged in bourbon and rum casks. Julia was a very friendly server. My total bill was $50 less any gratuities. I will return here again. read more

The atmosphere is a 10/10 I love places with that moody, dark academia aesthetic and you definitely get that here. They even have some beautiful and amusing stained glass features that really stood out and added to the ambiance. The bathrooms were just as beautiful and luxurious. We ordered quite a variety of cocktails along with the charcuterie appetizer. Everything was such a standout!! Big hand to the bartenders because even the most "basic" of drinks were made with extreme finesse. I would love to come back when they have more options... This place has horrible customer service, the staff is unprofessional, combative, and disrespectful to their customer. The manager assumed we caused our unattentive waitress to cry, and approach us to defend her in an aggressive way leaving us confused. I shared my interaction with the waitress to the manager, stating that was rude, he said aggressively she was the nicest waitress on his staff. We both held our ground, so I told him to stop talking to me. The manager continued to talk aggressively and moved closer to me invading my personal space. I felt attacked and yelled at him using profanity to stop talking to me and move out of my personal space. All of this started when we questioned the automatic charge of a $1 donation to Ukraine without our permission. There was no literature on our patio tables explaining this automatic charge, and I'm sure this is against the law. read more

My wife and I tried this place for the first time based on yelp reviews. They have a very small parking lot with valet... Tips only...no valet charge. It's somewhat of a trendy place, but you can still go in casual attire and fit in. We had the mothballs, which were basically ricotta cheese balls in a cream sauce, and they were fantastic. My wife's favorite. We also had the steak skewers, which were very tender over kimchi. I wouldn't have put those two together, but it tasted very good! Lastly, we had the pork ribs. They were very tender. We weren't all that impressed with the wait staff. We had a couple of different waiters helping us, and they had to go back a number of times to check the specials, happy hour offerings, what was in a specific dish. Anyway, we went recently for the first time in a few years and I am still a huge fan. Service is always good and it's just a cool place - chill vibe, not-too-dim lighting, and stained glass windows. There's an extensive beer menu and you can build your own flight of four. This past time, I chose two and let our server pick the other two based on my selections (and he did a great job!). Menu is mostly tapas-style, which means you get to sample a lot of deliciousness! Some of my favorites are the mussels, nueske's bacon (bacon lollipops with maple hollandaise and funnel cake), crispy chicken skin, hungry farmer (cheese/meat board), and the bone marrow. I am giving the review one star because the bartenders were great. I went to the Meddlesome Moth for brunch on Sunday. I ordered the Bad-Ass waffle. My food was lukewarm at best. The breakfast potatoes and bacon were cold. I asked the bartender to touch the potatoes and the bacon He touched them, and confirmed that the food was cold. He sent the food back to the kitchen, and had the manage touch the cold food also. However, they microwaved the potatoes and bacon and brought me the same portion of potatoes and bacon that was sent back. Yes, the one everyone touched. The potatoes were now stuck together and mushy. The bacon was microwaved greasy. I asked for fresh portions. The restaurant has an open kitchen. When the bartender stated "she wants fresh," the cook got an attitude. I said never mind. I'll eat somewhere else. I have worked every position in a restaurant, Including General Manager. It appears that the kitchen is preparing the food in advance, and keeping the food in a warmer. The warmer is not keeping the food hot, and appears to be in the temperature danger zone. The food is not cooked to order. I assume speed is more important than quality. This place is just for draft beer drinkers. The food has proven several times to be disappointing. The manager never stopped by. Even after I cancelled the order. Too many other options for brunch. I won't be back. read more

This visit was a dismal failure. they had just opened and we were the first people there. The music was so loud we had to practically yell across the table. I very nicely asked the waitress to have the music turned down and she did immediately and it was perfect. The next thing it's blaring again. I was excited to try this place because I've heard great things about it; however, it was just OK. I didn't make any reservations on a Sunday afternoon, so I already anticipated that seating would be difficult. Luckily, I was able to find seats in the bar area. Since it was my first time I went with one of the bartender's brunch recommendations which was the ultimate breakfast sandwich. The sandwich had smoked shaved ribeye on a piece of jalapeño bread topped with an over-easy egg and cheese whiz sauce-- now that I'm thinking this over, the flavors were a bit overwhelming for me. The cheese whiz was so overpowering I really couldn't taste anything else and I was disappointed that the sandwich was opened face, had I known, I would have not ordered this. I did enjoy the breakfast potatoes, they were nice and crispy, especially when I added salt and pepper. I also loved the house-made sangria, it wasn't overly sweet. The service was great, I just ordered the wrong thing. Next time I visit, I am going to try the chicken and waffles-- I sat next to someone who had them and they looked and smelled phenomenal. I love coming here for brunch, Meddlesome Moth is consistently great, so when my husband asked if I wanted to attend their dinner pairing collaboration with Real Ale and Peticolas Breweries- I was like - duh! Tickets were a steal at $65. I posted the menu's pairings and courses so you can see all that we got - 6 beers (full pour) and 5 courses. Everything was outstanding; a really chance to show-off the kitchen! In addition to the beer pairings, we received a a full pint pour of of Golden Opportunity with Axis hop addition at the Meet and Greet before we sat down for dinner. The ox tail was amazing and the portion size extremely generous. My favorite was the Creme Brule paired the Real Ale's Berliner-Weiss; I normally don't like sours, but the combination of these together was out of this world! This was a special event; I normally find that the food is average at these events. Let's face it, we came for the beer, but each course was artfully plated, food was cooked properly and served at the correct temperature. When you are serving 150 percent at the same time, synced with a "lecture" I typically expect banquet quality food, not the high standard, quality I have grown to expect for Meddlesome Moth over the years. I've been coming to this place for years. Every drink is super delicious. The mussels are some of the best in Dallas, hands down. The Belgian mussels are always my go-to. Lemony flavoring, but enough that it's light and perfect with bread. Caesar salad was also huge and delicious! Great modern-warm vibes inside. Pork belly - Good, not my favorite but def good. It's weird with the marshmallow. My wife loves it though. Beef Carpaccio - SO SO SO GOOD! I'd get this over and over again.
