We were immediately greeted when we entered and seated. We went during the middle of the day so we're actually the only ones in the restaurant which felt very special honestly. For drinks my fiancé ordered an Irish coffee which was perfectly made and not too sweet and I ordered an expresso martini which I really enjoyed. For starters I ordered oysters which tasted so crisp and refreshing! I loved the garnishes as well! The mignonette was a delicious, with tons of flavor. It was tangy, citrusy and sweet while the horseradish + hot sauce carried a powerful kick. I truly loved the flavor profile! For our meals he ordered the clam chowder which was pretty yummy and the steak and eggs which was pretty decent he enjoyed the potatoes most. I kept my New England vibe going pretty strong and ordered a lobster roll with a side of fries. I will say I wasn't the biggest fan one the unfortunately. The fries were very crunchy almost like cooked in old oil and the lobster roll was a little too buttery for my liking. Our waiter was excellent and really made sure to check on us several times throughout our meal. Given, the overall ambiance and the delicious oysters and drinks I'd say this would be a nice restaurant to stop by for afternoon drinks or maybe even dinner. We were looking forward to trying the crab cakes but only available during dinner time.

Once on Atwells Ave, we took a nice slow stroll to check out the restaurants and shops along the way. There are so many places to eat and not all of it is Italian themed, so if you like variety or aren't in the mood, there is something for you. There are quite a few parks and places to sit outside for free. DePasquale Square is a nice place to hang out, even if you're not eating at one of the restaurants. There is a lot of outdoor art work, like murals and sculptures to look at. Overall, a great place to visit while in Providence.

Among all the restaurants, bakeries, and shops on Atwells Avenue, there is a fountain in DePasquale Square and parks. If you're not in the mood for Italian, you can also enjoy delicious Chinese, Thai, Mediterranean, Mexican, Middle Eastern, Lebanese, Caribbean, and Cuban food. Federal Hill has festivals, strolls and special events planned throughout the year. One of those festivals that I've attended a few times is the Columbus Day Festival during Columbus Day Weekend. The Federal Hill Commerce Association welcomes sponsors and vendors for the festival. There is live entertainment in various locations along the avenue and vendors from Federal Hill and from neighboring towns. Also, on Saturdays in the summer from 5 p.m.-12 a.m., restaurant seating expands onto the street called Al Fresco on the Hill. I also did the Crime and Cuisine on Federal Hill hosted by Providence Tour Company. The tour stops at restaurants in Federal Hill and talks about some historic characters who dabbled on the wrong side of the law. Federal Hill is definitely worth a visit.

The venue is reasonably large, the seats are comfortable, the service has been very good (and it was excellent today), and they have a large humidor for anyone arriving empty-handed. I've worked through a handful of menu items and found the lamb lollipops are particularly good (order them medium). That said, this isn't a place I'd choose strictly for dinner unless the ambiance of lingering cigar smoke is part of the draw (pun intended). In warmer months, the large outdoor deck along the water is a really nice spot. So if you're into cigars or hookah and live in the area, this might be your place too. Given how rare cigar-friendly venues have become, I'm bumping this up to a five-star rating. Tip: Beware of the sidewalks on this street. They have so many peaks and valleys they look like the Swiss Alps!

I mainly came for the sweets, was able to get a tray of pistachio and walnut baklava, but they had a few other sweets like lady fingers and purses as well. Baklava was very good, very nice crispiness that held up for the week. I would've preferred it to have a bit more nuts and be a bit sweeter, but personal preference. Got the cheese fatayer which is just basically a cheesy bread with some herbs. So tasty, really enjoyed that! Also got a lamb kabob which came with some bread as well. The flavor here was good but didn't blow me away. Touch on the dry side too. Probably would get something else next time. They've also got coffee. I elected to get the Turkish coffee. It was thick and came in a pretty small cup, about a 3rd of that is the grounds. Fun to try, but very bitter, wouldn't recommend this either. Overall, really cool shop that seems very popular. Lots of interesting menu items to try. Definitely suggest checking it out!

Once a week the restaurant throws a midweek Cigar Dinner that is the best deal in town - two premium cigars and a high-end 3-course dinner for just $50 bucks! Sometimes they charge a little more if the cigars are super crazy premium, but believe me it is a great deal, and they deserve the cigar community's full support! ***VIP*** IMO We need to keep places like this alive and successful - unlike difficult and puritanical Massachusetts, where cigar bars are discouraged - this place is outstanding. Jack and Adam do a great job running the place - a great location. FYI - Jack ran Cigar Masters on Exchange Street in Providence and is a true professional and it shows - he relocated and merged with Tel Aviv and I think it was a mix made in heaven - a little more casual - a better location, great decks on the water in a roomier place!
