I don't usually take the time to write 3-star reviews, but unless I got the wrong items, I don't understand what's the fuss about this place. I was craving Greek food and this appeared in my search results as being the highest-rated. I got the Greek fries (yummy), tzatziki (ok), babaganoush (maybe the best item), chicken kebab and grilled vegetables (both ok). In addition to these, I really don't appreciate the enormous plastic packaging, showing how oblivious is the business to environmental protection, while operating in one of the most affected regions by climate change and wildfires. read more

I recently ordered to go from Mediterranean Kitchen online and it was really easy. For my entrée, I got the moussaka plate which came with the moussaka and featured a nice piece of (hlumy, I think) cheese on top. The place also came with hummus, rice, and a small side salad. The only thing that annoyed me was in the description, they did not say that it came with peta bread so I order it and ended up with extra. It was not a big deal because I all of it. Everything we've gotten here is always incredibly high quality even though it's more of a fast casual feel on the surface (and in price), and the staff is super friendly and fast with the food. For years I have enjoyed the different restaurants in Burlingame, and today I discovered I had been sleeping on this place. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with such a warm and amiable welcome. I met Ali who was just so nice and kind, that I felt welcomed into their home. Then the foooooood!! I ordered the lemon chicken soup and appetizer sampler. The lemon soup has exceptional flavor. The sampler platter introduced me to a new dish I haven't had before - Muhammara. A delicious combination of nuts. It is quite dense so I couldn't finish it. Hurray leftovers! Loved it! My particular favorite of the appetizer platter is the hummus. This hummus is particularly creamy with a healthy dollop of olive oil. I could easily eat a gallon. They provided handmade pita bread- also delightful. The falafel is unique and I also loved it. Had the good fortune to be in Burlingame on the 29th of March after picking up my family at SFO. YELP did it again! The owner was working the front of the very clean and inviting restaurant. The menu was varied and diverse. We were all hungry for some good food and the ability to sit down inside to enjoy it. I won't bore you with what we ordered...but will simply tell you everything we had was terrific. My wife ordered a roasted lamb kabob in her lovely salad and it was the hit of the evening. When we go back. I will get what she ordered as it had it all. My goodness. The owner then came over and we chatted for a bit and he gave us a free rice pudding dessert ...and I gotta be honest...best rice pudding EVER. We bought one to take home with us and it did not survive the ride home. We polished it off on the way home. YUMMY. Inviting staff, helpful, spotless, and the three of us ate ourselves silly for $50 bucks. What more do you want in 2021? Thanks to all for the lovely evening out. WE WILL BE BACK!!! read more

Not-so-low-key racist here, which is ironic because they're trying to pass as Greek here. You'll have a great time if you're white or a fellow Levantine person, but you'll have an especially shitty time if you're East or South Asian. How do I know? I was on the butt-end of it. All the staff were stone-faced and reluctant to: take my order, say "hi" or "thank you", or even bring us bread or utensils even when asked multiple times, and they were the same to all the South Asians eating there as well. But the white folks? Biggest shit-eating grins you've ever seen! Voices going up an octave while detailing every single item on the menu! Practical bows as they shouted "thank you!" from across the room as the white patrons left. Despite my irreverence here on Yelp, I'm a actually a polite, presentable, well-dressed gentleman in public (I have to be, I deal with patients all day), so there's no traction in trying to blame my look or attitude for the poor treatment here. Dare I say that'd be racist too, to attempt that? LOL Anyway, the food is just OK. Portions are quite small, meat is overcooked, pide isn't homemade, hummus is bland. Go to Mediterranean Kebab on Burlingame Ave instead; better service, tastier food, no discrimination. P.S. Order ahead if you can. Limited seating. Plenty of parking behind the store with access via the back door through the market. My recommendation? Such a delicious cafe right off of the Ave! I absolutely loved the outdoor area, which makes a perfect area to dine at on a sunny day. My friends and I came here for lunch with their infant today and the ambiance was perfect. We sat outside catching up for almost 3 hours and not once did we feel as though we had to rush out of there. The food was yummy! I loved the appetizer sampler (although the portions were a little small, but still very tasty). My husband had the meat combo entree and I had the falafel entree. I'm a big fan of Mediterranean cuisine and am always on the lookout for new places to try. I can say with confidence that Mediterranean Kitchen is an awesome option in Burlingame. MK offers a good selection of salads, soups, entrees, and sides. I had dinner here and opted for the Appetizer Sampler and Mixed Grill entree in order to get a taste for a few more things, it all turned out very tasty, not one miss out of either option. The gyro plate was great. But all the other did was gross. The lemon chicken soup was greasy, the falafel wrap was flavorless but the biggest disappointment was the dolmas. The dolmas were put in a container with lebne and leaked all over them and the rice was underdone. Unless you are just getting the gyros I suggest skipping this place read more

This is a relatively new addition the the dining scene in the neighborhood. I've gotten stuff to go from here several times and have loved everything, especially their hummus bowls, all of which come with your choice of meat, e.g, my favorite a mix of grilled chicken and lamb--or veggies. They have a huge selection of things on their board, to the left when you walk in. They have a patio as well as indoor dining (for when the pandemic is over :-), and meanwhile, their various delivery services operate like clockwork. Their hummus is especially bomb--smooth and creamy, refined and sophisticated, delicate and unctuous. ZIt's not rough or raw of chickpea. Walked into this place and what a lucky find! Two dads were outnumbered with 5 kids....zone defense. They guy at the front saw the look of frustration on the dads faces. Greeted us with a big smile. It was a warm, "welcome brother we are here to help you" type smile. Quickly navigated the menu to see what would appease our snot monsters - chicken and rice for one and a burger for the other. Not having patience to review the menu, I ordered the combination plate and a glass of wine. Food came out really quickly. Everything was super fresh and tasty. Let's just say he was expressionless. If I was a female I'm sure he would have shared in my enthusiasm. He was really helpful to the 2 young ladies who came in right after. Even saying, " I can Choose the meat for you." Any who, placed the order and waited. I watched as the treats were being microwaved, I mean made and placed into a to go container. So by this time cashier dude switched roles for whatever reason and started to serve the food to customers. Mind you, my little treats were sitting waiting for me. So after serving customers who came after me their food, he finally checked the bag. What do you know, it was my treats. 15 minutes later... It gets better! Im so happy to have finally gotten the loukoumades my wife has been craving. I take them into the car and she happily opens the container. She Shoves a fork into one and gives it a try. I knew she was trying to be nice and said they were good. I tried to give them a chance but how could microwave dough be good. I gave it a try and they were pretty dry inside. The cook must have known this. Probably the reason he drenched them in honey. I mean floated them in a sea of honey. I can get over the service, but these microwaved, dry ass rings, soaked in honey, trying to pass a loukoumades...I cant!!!! The place is nice and the food may be is good. We've eaten here several times because they have a covered patio that isn't on the street. However, the food isn't seasoned. No salt and pepper in the salads or on the burgers. It's quarantine time but we missed eating out. We ordered takeout here and everything went smooth and safe. We made orders and paid through Yelp. Came to the restaurant to pickup and food was ready right there at the table to pickup. There 6ft distance rule and no interactions which was great. This all means that I can practice social distancing safely and still can eat restaurant food. We ordered 2 combo entree, fries and soup. Everything was presented nicely inside takeout ordered boxes. Extra sauces they generously gave us that was so well-thought. Salads were fresh and crunchy. Yogurt dressing was what you're rooting for. Everything is great except the grilled beef was a little bit dry here and there but overall they are quite a satisfying meal.
