    Beef Brisket Chow Fun

I always enjoy coming here when I'm on the Ave and craving some wholesome Cantonese/Taiwanese cuisine. I used to come here all the time when I was a student at UW. It's worth the trip to eat here when I'm hungry. I can eat a full meal plus get myself a bubble tea at the same time. They have a huge selection of dishes to choose from including a chef's special menu. My favorite dishes are the chow fun and braised brisket dishes. The HK style French toast is a must try! The servers and staff here are great. The food comes out quick. Betty, the manager, is friendly and will make sure you're a satisfied customer! It's a convenient location for college students and has a nice casual ambiance!

Mee sun is so good, easy five stars, but this location is slightly not as good. Since it's less crowded, there's less churn so not everything is fresh out the oven all of the time.

Super kind people working here! always so welcoming I swing by pretty much every day for lunch (sat/sun) to grab a BBQ pork bun or curry beef bun. They're super filling and honestly hit all the right notes, even nutritionally ;) Been coming here for months now, and they always light up when I walk in and grab like 5 or 6 buns Big thanks to MeeSum! I'm not going anywhere else!!!

Order takeout from Mee Sum . A friend of mine bought my lunch and I ordered Mongolian Beef. This lunch wasn't too bad. The Mongolian Beef was cooked very good. The beef was very tender. The only thing about this order is the price was way too high for lunch special. Other than that it was very tasty.

Servers were very kind (service 5/5 stars) and the restaurant was pretty quiet at noon on a Friday (ambiance 5/5 stars). If you were looking for food of a similar quality to what Panda Express serves, this is restaurant is a great place for you to try! Similar prices, similar quality, and slightly more authentic. The noodles (3/5 stars) were on the greasy side but I loved the fresh crisp scallions, onions, and sprouts. The original milk tea (4/5 stars) was phenomenal tea, maybe the best I've had in U district, but the boba was overcooked. I appreciated the free soup (3/5 stars) but it tasted like it came from a box.

Me Sum was a delight to try. Customer service was really welcoming and friendly. The pastry I got was so delicious on the outside it was a little crispy but then buttery on the inside. I wasn't a huge fan of the pineapple in the veggie roll but the sweetness reminded me of bbq pork bao that I liked. The Singapore noodles were a little underwhelming we wish they had more flavor but the texture and temperature was perfect. The broccoli was low on flavor as well but lots of crunch. The egg rolls were my favorite of the three, they were great I wish I had ordered more. I would personally adventure more in the rolls and bao/buns because they taste most authentic and delicious. It's a welcoming, warm, and yummy smelling cafe.

    Pork Chop Meal

This review is based on order via UberEats experience. I ordered Pork Chop Meal for lunch, and to my surprise, the portion was quite big. For the price $16 during these days, I think it's a good deal. The pork chop was crispy and tasty. The pork chop was chopped into small pieces, so it was easy to pick up. The meal also came with stir fry vegetables, which was also very delicious. There were braised pork sauce and pickled daikon over the rice. That's exactly how an authentic Taiwanese Pork Chop Meal should present. Because of its big portion, I was able to divide it into two meals. Two meals for $16 is a bargain. I will definitely try other food from Mee Sum. Nothing in Seattle can beat its price/portion. Plus, it was delicious. The only reason that I didn't give them 5 stars is that they forgot to include utensils despite of my request. Otherwise, it was a perfect meal.

Located on the Ave in Udistrict, Mee Sum is always bustling with students looking for a meal. Mee Sum is a quick and casual Chinese food joint with cheap eats and large portions. We ordered the deluxe pork belly over rice which comes with a braised egg and the pork chop meal, which comes with rice, cabbage, and soup. The pork chop meal was OK as the pork chops weren't too crispy by the time we got home (an unfortunate consequence of takeout) and the soup was pretty bland. The pork belly was really delicious, but the braised egg lacked flavor. The portion was huge though! You order and pay at the counter, then take a number and any available table. We opted for takeout this time as there is no parking and the interior of the restaurant was not the cleanest.

The food is delicious and it also comes out very fast. The portion sizes are generous as well! The chicken in both the popcorn chicken meal and the chicken chow fun are super tender and flavorful. The fried tofu was seasoned well and the sauce went well with it. They also give you soup for dine in and they also offer it even if you're getting take out.

The food was sooo delicious and at such a good price! The service was very quick, and all of the staff is very kind and helpful. The restaurant is clean and well kept. If in udistrict, come here for amazing boba, pasteries, and food.

Food was bland and dry. The workers were clearly bias against non Cantonese speakers. Even though the workers spoke good English, they gave the Cantonese customers sitting around us water and refills but not us. Then they would walk past us to ask everyone else how their food was. They also gave us no condiments like chili oil and forgot to make our drink.

this restaurant is the same chain from the location at pike place. we ordered the taiwanese popcorn chicken and it really hit the spot for me. the chicken was crispy and flavorful and the rice had minced meat as well.

Can't believe I never reviewed this place before. My go-to for a filling, tasty meal on the Ave for my entire time at the UW; conveniently located and their Taiwanese Popcorn Chicken Meal (bowl) goes crazy - everything in it is flavorful, works well with each other, and it's a generous serving size. I'd give them 5* but their menu is unfortunately rather hit or miss - I have yet to meet anyone who liked the complementary side of soup, and certain items, particularly their baked goods, are weirdly lacking given that they're supposed to be a bakery. (And their baked goods are also weirdly expensive) Have tried a variety of other items which were ok. For whatever reason, they have a milk tea flavor I got on a whim that I'm pretty sure is just cola and milk (Brown Bear flavor, under Mee Sum Family Creations.) In other words, they sell pilk bubble tea. Really unsure how to feel about that, but I do think it's pretty funny (even though I was unable to finish it.) Most notable other item, for me, is their pork belly rice bowl - pretty weird, texture-wise, practically a pork paste with no garnish on rice, but it's pretty cheap, very filling and it tastes pretty good, so if I'm not feeling like splurging on the chicken bowl it's a passable substitute. In any case, that chicken bowl is a 5/5. Not exactly gourmet food, but I couldn't ask for more. If you want a big bowl of food on the Ave, in my opinion, it's pretty hard to beat.

Like their bubble tea with no sugar, and only with no sugar. Their pastry tastes like what you can get from a small food stall in Hong Kong.

Service is quick and straightforward. We ordered the pineapple bun with butter, mixed steak plate with black pepper sauce, and spare rib and chinese sausage clay pot. The pineapple bun was large, hot, and crispy with the sugary crust, although I wish the slab of butter was a bit bigger because it gets a little dry after you run out of butter. My boyfriend really enjoyed his mixed steak plate - it came with a pork steak and beef steak, steamed rice, and steamed veggies. The meat was fine but the real winner was the savory sauce! The clay pots take 20-30 minutes to cook which they tell you ahead of time, so be aware my boyfriend was about done with his food when the clay pot came out. This was a delicious classic dish reminiscent of the clay pots back in Hong Kong! I poured in a ton of sauce and it really gets absorbed into the hot rice and meat.
