Brown sugar boba tofu soup, cold
Kaho L.

I keep coming back for easy access to nostalgic Chinese style desserts, but it's tough to love this place. First, the prices are a little nuts and not a good value. These two bowls of tofu soup plus tax was almost $20! Second, the waits are atrocious, both for ordering (there's always a long line for the measily 3 self order kiosks) and for the desserts themselves. It wasn't even that busy and we waited easily 20+ minutes. Third, they weren't even that good. The regular tofu soup was lukewarm at best and not hot at all. And even though it was regular sweetness it was pretty bland. The brown sugar boba one was barely bruleed at all and while the cream on top was nice and sweet, everything below it was watery and bland. It's better for certain things like egg waffles (which they were sold out of), certain drinks, etc. but I think I'd rather go to a regular boba shop for those.

I was quite disappointed with this location after trying various meet fresh locations around California!! The wait was nearly an hour, and once I finally received my order around 5 minutes before closing, the entire order was melted!! Quite unfortunate yes.. and also since they were about to close I didn't even want to bother to ask about it. BUT it wasn't just melted, they missed 1-2 ingredients that were supposed to be there.. and everything was.... WARM! The only redeeming quality was the availability of seating, but otherwise I would highly recommend just going to sul&beans or somisomi a few steps away. Particularly saddened because i brought my hispanic friend from bakersfield here to try and this was his first impression (also disappointed)

Black Sugar Boba Milky Shaved Ice (after pouring over the boba)
Rochelle M.

It was crazy busy on a Friday night, but the husband wanted to try the shaved ice. Located just a few steps from IPPUDO, it seemed like a perfect place to share a dessert. Watching and waiting for people order at the kiosks got frustrating. It was very apparent who has never been there before based on how much time they spent scrolling. They really need someone to organize the lines and help navigate the menu. It only took me a couple minutes to order the Black Sugar Boba Milky Shaved Ice (+Taro Ball). We were fortunate to easily find a nice, clean table right after ordering. During our long wait, we watched people circle around a couple times or end up sitting at a dirty, sticky table. At the pick-up counter there are signs that say to check with someone before grabbing an order, but everyone was so busy that no one wants to look at you. When our order was ready, I had to flag someone down to make sure I was ok to take our tray. Aside from all that, our shaved ice was HUGE! I probably should have skipped adding the Taro Ball. The boba was warm, served in a separate bowl. Pouring it around the large ice mountain didn't make a dent. It was quite good though -- my husband was pleasantly surprised at how much he enjoyed it. The sweetness level was just right. It's a nice place for a cold treat, but I don't think we would choose it again on a busy night.

Icy Taro Ball Signature with extra taro paste and potaro balls
Jackie Q.

Meet Fresh is always the default option when we're in the mood for not so sweet dessert that's open late. This time, we stopped by 20 minutes before closing and got the Icy Taro Ball Signature with extra taro paste and potaro balls on the side, 2/3 sweet. I want to say that the takeout portions look smaller than the dine in, but that could just be me. My favorite parts of the Icy Taro Ball Signature are the taro paste and the potaro balls. I want to say that because we came so close to closing time they gave us an extra scoop of taro paste to use up stock, so we definitely ended up with more taro paste than we bargained for. Regardless, not going to complain about that. The shaved ice portion of the dessert was a little strange this time, as soon as we dug in we noticed that there was only one or two spoonfuls of actual ice with the rest of the base having already melted. That was just a little disappointing. There are always a lot of customers inside the store even at closing time but it has always been easy to find seating in all of my experiences. Orders seem to be accepted right up until closing time and they didn't dim the lights until a solid 15-20 minutes after they were officially closed.

Hot Tofu with sago

Came here for dessert. So many options but many were out. We ended up with tofu soup. Suppose to be hot but it was luke warm. Added sago and there were barely any. I did like that it wasn't too sweet as you could adjust it when ordering from the kiosk. It's very loud inside with many people. There are plenty of seats.

Chocolate chip waffle, brown sugar milk tea with pearls

After having lunch, my friend and I wanted something sweet. After looking through Yelp, we decided to come to Meet Fresh as it was within the vicinity and we could walk from where we were at. I haven't been in Meet Fresh for a long time, so I wasn't sure what I wanted. After looking through the menu on the kiosk, and spending way too long to decide about getting shaved ice or not - I decided to order a chocolate chip waffle and a black sugar boba milk tea (of course!). After ordering, we sat down and waited for our items. My friend got her drink first since I needed to wait for my waffle. When my items came out, we continued sitting and chatting while eating the waffle - it was so yummy! I love how the waffle aligns on the top and bottom (I know, weird) and the bursts of chocolate chips. The tea was also good - a lighter flavor than I'm used to, but wonderfully balanced by the slightly sweet boba pearls - which were a nice soft, texture. I ended up not finishing my drink until later, and the pearls were still a good consistency after being in the fridge for a bit, which is rare. This Meet Fresh location had plenty of space to sit around and enjoy their desserts. Some of the tables were a bit dirty and needed some cleaning, but we were able to find a table that was clean enough. Quiet music was playing and tons of customers were sitting around hanging out. Overall, a nice place to enjoy desserts and catch up with friends or work, if needed.

Chocolate Deluxe Egg Waffle

I was really excited to come here for the first time for my birthday! The food was pretty good, portions are huge. The grass jelly is not overwhelming and all the flavors balanced really nicely. The seat areas are well maintained with lots of people happily eating with little kids. I agree with other reviews about: - confusing kiosk lines - tons of signs everywhere not to put your tray (doesn't really say where to put your tray though). I think it would be easier to put up plexiglass to block rather than all the signs. What I'm most yucked out is that the return tray area (in the front) is in the hallway to the restrooms. There's a little window on the right where you put your tray and a giant open gross trash can to dump your napkins, etc before handing the tray to the lady inside. On the left, there are two sinks for people to wash hands. So yes, if you need to use the restroom, you need to get by the people dumping trash, returning trays, or washing hands. That part feels more like a cafeteria than an upscale place.

Standard dessert shop to get dishes I wouldn't know where else to get. The menu pictures definitely look much nicer than the actual products you get, but the taste is good so that's what matters to me. Large interior built for long lines and crowds, but luckily no line when we came on a school night. It was next to where we had dinner in Main Street, so we chose to get dessert here to take home to go. Nothing special but nothing bad either. Solid 3 stars down the middle.

Junelle F.

Went to this location twice. First time was an ok experience due to it being close to closing time. Not sure who the manager on duty was but it seemed to be ran by a lot of young kids who know nothing about customer service. My family were in the bathroom and they were turning off the lights for the whole buidling which isn't cool. My daughter got scared because it was pitch black in the bathroom. So give this place an overall 3.75. Love the dessert options. Great to have on a hot summer day but also enjoyable on a cold winter night. Enjoyed the food aspect of this place.

Joyce T.

Hot grass jelly soup signature is really bad, I wonder how it is "signature "? The grass jelly was so watery and textured like slime, so gross. Please refer to my photo, we was shocked when we picked up the bowl, we only see grass jelly, seemed like all the ingredients were hidden under the grass jelly, what a bad way to present the food. Boba, red bean were okay but the mini taro balls was tasteless. We had the winter melon tea, it's okay and the original coco sago was really bad, feel like drinking thick coconut milk from the can.

BIG chunk of ice!

Hmm, shall we begin with the 30min+ wait, the inconsistency of quality, or the lack of communication? Either way, do NOT come here, and let's jump in! This Meet Fresh is huge, but don't let the ample seating deceive you - the kitchen and staff are NOT any faster even with the plethora of seating. I went in on a Friday night around 6:50PM and about half the place was empty. However, as you play "i spy" when looking around, you notice a lot more people standing around on their phones while others are sitting at their tables with nothing in front of them. The once lovey dovey couple with endless things to say? On their phones waiting. That one loud friend group who are catching up after a months? Also on their phones, with some being bold enough to ask an employee about their food. The customers do not look happy, and a lot of people were standing by the counter or in the open area just waiting for their 1 or 2 orders. Spoiler alert: most of them went to sit down after a while due to how slow the service is. Even though I ordered at 6:50, my dish was ready around 7:20! That's with the place at 1/3 seating capacity. You'd expect a place as big as this to be more optimized for the seating capacity, but unfortunately not the case. The quality of food was even worse than the wait time Let's continue the story - once you suffered through 30min - 1hr of waiting, you're ready to get your reward (that you paid for). I ordered an Osmanthus Green Milk Tea Tofu Pudding, and being my second time having it, this place was a huge letdown. The flavor was lackluster compared to my experience in San Mateo. Upon my first bite, I noticed something very hard taking up half the bowl - lo and behold it was a HUGE chunk of unshaved ice (pics for reference)! After being unable to dig into the ice, I decided to bring it up to the employees, and the best they could do was literally replace the ice, diluting the flavor even further. Every bite was just some ice and hints of osmanthus flavor... Cheap to an extent that they wouldn't remake my order when I told them about the flavor and lack of quality control. A huge disappoint, and I am starting to see why Meet Fresh is dying in certain parts of Asia. Employees are trying their best, but like others said, they need to either tell people it's gonna be a long wait! I do not recommend coming here and you're better off getting a Hong Kong dessert or visiting a different location. The only thing keeping this location alive is the location itself.

Hot Almond Drink

Dining in is always much better than takeout. We got our usual of Hot Red Bean Soup Signature and Custom Grass Jelly Icy with additions. Hot Almond Drink with almond pudding and black sesame balls (4/5). It's comforting and brings me back to childhood.

Iced Thai milk tea tofu pudding
Lisa N.

I thought it was just ok. Not a fan. I ordered the iced Thai milk tea tofu pudding ($10.25). I love Thai tea and was curious to try this out. Keep in mind I'm used to eating the Vietnamese sugar tofu pudding with lemongrass. I prefer this more. I only ate half of the Thai tea tofu pudding and I got tired of it. There were bits of boba, sesame balls, sago, and tofu pudding. Overall, it didn't impressed me. Perhaps I ordered the wrong item?? I do like grass jelly so maybe I need to go back to try that instead. Just meh.

I wished it had more condensed milk to give it a more creamy flavor. The shaved ice was beautiful and fluffy - i'd say this is the main draw that may bring me back to try new flavors. Additionally, the shaved ice itself tasted quite light and lacked the rich, milky flavor we remember from back in the day. I tried the Pomelo & Mango with Sago, which combined sweet mango, creamy coconut milk, chewy sago, and fresh pomelo for a refreshing balance of flavors and textures. I also enjoyed the Mango Chewy Ball, where the fresh mango and smooth mango juice paired perfectly with the soft, chewy rice balls. Both desserts felt light while still being satisfying, making them a great option on a warm day. I also had the chance to try a few of the other menu items. The mango mochi was fresh and soft, with ripe mango wrapped inside a delicate chewy layer. For something different, the spicy chili fish balls offered a savory contrast to the fruit desserts, adding a bit of heat and a springy texture that balanced out all of the sweetness. The ordering process was quick and straightforward, and my food arrived not long after I found a table.
