Love their coco sago series! I got the coco sago drink that comes with mini q (and some taro), and it tasted just like the coconut sago desserts Chinese restaurants used to have! It was actually so big that I saved half of it the next day and heated it up with more milk and it was STILL delicious! Went on a hot summer night. I've been here several times over the years and their desserts have always been refreshing and consistent in taste and quality. However unfortunately they seem short staffed - as do most in the restaurant business post-Covid - since wait times have exponentially increased over the years. When we went there was only one self service kiosk for ordering, so the line was very long and took around 30 minutes to order. We got one of the summer menu passion fruit sorbet items. The interior is very large with plenty of seating. We spent about 45 minutes waiting for our order before it was finally ready. We passed the time chatting and playing card games, but be prepared for the long wait! When we received the order, it came leaking out of the sides but since we had already been waiting and the employees seemed so busy we didn't want to bother them. It was refreshing and had several toppings, with sweet tofu pudding at the bottom as a nice plus. After finishing a delicious lunch at Pho Hanoi (Cupertino) we decided we had extra room for some coffee and dessert. We stopped by Philz coffee in the newer Cupertino plaza and decided to pay meet fresh a visit as it's been awhile since we last had it. This location is pretty big with plenty of seating. There are two self ordering stations. When we arrived, there were two long lines. I wish they had one cashier available to help mitigate the longer lines as the self ordering stations can be pretty time consuming. Nevertheless, 10 min later, we were able to place an order. My wife got the tofu pudding with an extra side of red beans and grass jelly & I ordered the mangoberry milk shaved ice. Our order was ready within' 5 minutes or so and both looked exactly as advertised in the pictures - off to a great start. My wife ordered it with 1/2 the sugar and I think we regretted that as this lacked sweetness. On the opposite side, I ordered 1/3 sugar and it was overly sweet for my liking. Other than the sugar levels being off, both delivered. The tofu pudding had perfect texture and went perfectly with all toppings. My personal favorite was the red bean and tofu combo - hint of sweetness from the red bean with the custard, smooth texture from the tofu made a perfect bite. The ice cream was absolutely delicious in the mangoberry shaved ice. There was a good amount of fruit in there and the ice texture was hard enough to maintain its structure and soft enough to enjoy each bite. The flavors were on point but again, it would've been perfect if it were slightly less sweet. Overall had a good experience and will definitely be back. And on top of that, I heard an employee asking another employee why my unfinished bowl was just sitting around -- someone had just started forgotten to continue making my order. I'm leaving a one star review here not because of the food, but for the poor service and overall experience. I've been to Meet Fresh before in the past and it has been okay but this has been BY FAR the worst experience I've had here and at any dessert place in general. From start to finish there were many issues. The kiosk that we used to order did not function properly. The touchscreen wouldn't fully register some of the button presses even when touching softly as directed. The menu on the snacks tab did not pull down all the way. We were intending on ordering the egg waffles but it wasn't even an option. We waited for about 40min to receive our order, which was the ice grass jelly and hot tofu pudding. We watched everyone who ordered after us (about 5) receive their order before us. We also noticed during pickup, people were touching around every other order trying to look for theirs because the labels weren't placed in a way where you can see it clearly. This is a huge sanitary issue. When we received the text saying that the order was ready, there was only the hot tofu pudding was on the tray to be received. I asked one of the staff about the second item and she quickly just told me that yes there's a second item. Assumingely, I thought this meant either she was finishing making the order or was going to check on it. We waited for another 15min and still nothing. I asked another staff member about the order and he said that someone took it which didn't make sense because we were watching the tray the entire time and it wouldn't make any sense for someone to just take an item without the entire tray. He offered to remake the order and midway into making the order he said they ran out of the sesame ball add-on that I placed. He offered to substitute it with something else, in which I asked for rice balls instead. By the time the second item was completed the hot tofu pudding had turned cold. At this point both we were so turned off by the experience that we wanted to just leave and eat our dessert at home. I asked for a to-go bag and the person helping was going to give me a bag that would hold both desserts. Another staff member stops her and gives me the tiniest bag that would only hold 1 container even though we had 2. I told her I need a bag large enough to hold both and she said that I'll need pay an extra 10 cents for the larger bag. Irritated by this entire experience, I told her I'll just take the 2 small bags. The system that they're running is very disorganized and staff seemed to be perpetually confused as to what is going on. Meet Fresh is definitely a Cupertino Main St classic. It's a popular spot so there's more likely than not going to be a line, but there's a ton of seating inside and you order on kiosks, so the line moves pretty fast. There are a ton of options on the menu so it can be hard to decide what to order, but if you're indecisive I would highly recommend their double taro signature. It is very sweet yes, but it's a dessert so obviously. It comes with the classic grass jelly shaved ice, but also taro paste and taro balls and ice cream! + definitely add the creamer on top too. I love all things taro so this was the dream dessert. The jellies (balls?) are a great texture -- really nicely chewy and satisfying. It's a dessert of many textures for sure, which I'm a big fan of. The order machines are constantly out of service, and even more annoying, items are constantly out of stock - no herbal jelly, no sesame balls, no lychee jelly, no waffle. We can't get our orders because stuff is constantly out. Week after week. It's like they're not even trying to restock. And the place smells. Seems like cleanliness is lacking. I absolutely hate their ordering system. Two kiosks you can order from. They had a sign that says "order here" at the front, so I decided to order in person since I wanted to customize my order. I ordered the grass jelly signature. I wanted to take the red bean out (or sub it out for another topping). When someone finally came by, I asked if they can take my order and they pointed me to the kiosk. I asked if I can customize on the machine they said yes. I ended up waiting in line again for the kiosk. Everyone was struggling. A ton of lag, sensors didn't work well, and there were no customization options to even remove a topping. I went back to the front after ordering and then mentioned I couldn't customize and asked them to remove it. Staff was super reluctant to accommodate my request, but eventually caved with attitude. For being a $10 dessert, and with the ordering nightmare you go through, not sure I'll be back at this location. Hoping other locations will be a bit better. Highly recommend for the owners to make the changes on the kiosks. Having simple substitutions should be available especially for a spot that has toppings...
