Been here a few times while shopping at Westgate Center. On a recent visit I tried their milk foam green tea and coffee and overall both drinks were okay, but nothing to go crazy for. If anything, I enjoyed the green tea over the coffee. The coffee flavor was light and more milky while the green tea was well balanced, slightly creamy, and not too sweet. Ordering is quick and easy and by kiosk. I'd recommend this place if you're not into strong coffee and just want a little pick me up without the jitters or looking for a quick and easy/convenient boba shop while shopping around Westgate Center. read more

Stopped by Gong Cha since it has been some time since I had them. I ended up getting the QQ passion fruit green tea without coconut jelly. I ordered it with 25% sugar, but it was still on the sweet side. Boba was $7+ after tax. Definitely super pricey for what I got. Passion fruit flavor tasted a bit off. Boba was cooked well. I remember, years ago, when Gong Cha first opened up--not this Westgate location. It was all the rage. Then other boba shops opened up and they were all the rage and unless you're doing something quite unique or different, you'll be quickly forgotten. My oh my the day in the life of a boba shop. Gong Cha, in general, is no different. I feel like the Gong Cha brand has been relegated to those many other boba tea spots that's just "hum drum" and you know what to expect. While there are seasonal drinks made available to order, most all other drinks are nothing special. Just ordinary, standard drinks, which is fine. This particular Gong Cha is in a food court of Westgate Mall, which seems like it's emptying up and having trouble getting consumers and tenants. The food court is a bit outdated and nothing exciting to boast about. The chairs and tables are scattered about in a somewhat disorganized way and there are really only a handful of options. It looks like what you'd see from a 90's mall food court. But this isn't Gong Cha's problem. There are no people taking orders, just what seems like a bunch of high school kids making your drinks. Incredibly roudy and loud when I was there as they talked about the latest gossip and dancing about, but they did make the drinks rather quickly and efficiently. So not bad for high school kids! As for then drinks themselves, wayyyyy too sweet. My wife ordered a boba milk tea at 70% sweetness and it was just straight up sugar water. Didn't even taste the tea. I ordered a seasonal drink that doesn't come sweet and the jellies and things added to the drinks made the drink beyond too sweet--I finishable to me. While I do think the steroid-indification of sweetness pumped into our drinks (e.g. boba and fruit juices) is nothing new or uncommon in America, we really need to stop and I've yet find places that hone in and focus on the natural flavors and sweetness of fruits and other elements of a drink without the over adulteration of blitzing the drinks with sugar. read more

I was very excited about trying Gongcha for the first time as I have heard good things about it! Sadly I can't say the same for it being our first experience. My red velvet drink I got tasted like straight milk with pink food dye. also got my kiddos some drinks & they were ok. I can say best thing out of our order was the mochi waffle. Sadly the waffle when my husband picked up our online order, the container to our waffle was open with no lid all exposed on the counter & the presentation was Sadly nothing like it shows online. I used to be a regular at this Gong Cha and also a place where a close friend used to work at. This is one of the few boba joints that's near my house, I usually sit in front of it after church and before grab a drink at times. This place pretty much grew up with me ever since I went to my church for the first time. My favorite was the fizzy boba that tasted really sweet and was on point. Back then I also earned points here. They use raw sugar for those who like their boba sweet. It's not made with concentrate which is really good. Drawbacks: I have two issues with this place hence the star removal. First the price went up really hard even before covid hit. Now with the inflation, it looks like the joint has been hit hard. They no longer use cash which is not good for me because I am still broke. Due to this place being in a very small mall, the boba joint closes very early. read more

They released a new snack called mochi waffles, and the picture of it looks really nice, however I think the guy who made it just don't know how to do the job at all. Caught up with one of my girlfriends here for some boba! It's located inside the Westgate Mall on Saratoga Avenue. If you park between J. Crew Factory and Nike, and enter through the Westgate sign the GongCha will be right there. I must say that this mall is really dead. Nothing going on and a lot of the shops are closed. I'm guessing due to covid but I'm not sure. There's tables inside so we sat there. We felt pretty safe since there weren't much people to begin with. I haven't been to Gong Cha before and the first thing I noticed is that they have such a huge variety of drinks! We didn't know what to get! It took us super long to finally decide what we wanted. I guess it was a strawberry type of day because we both got something strawberry flavored. I love how you can add creme brulee foam(?) to almost every drink! It was really sweet though from what I remembered but I still enjoyed it. I had a good experience but it didn't really blow me away or anything. My drink was good but nothing life changing. Don't waste your time. I am here on a Saturday at 5:30PM and waited almost 30 minutes for two mediocre drinks and two waffles-- totaling $30+!!! The drinks are not as good as they used to be and the waffles have little flavor. You can get better drinks and mochi waffles literally anywhere else. The girl working there had a huge attitude when another guest asked her a question and she was too busy talking (or flirting) to another worker to even help the guy that was working there. The guy who was working there was the only one actually making drinks. He was fantastic. I have been a supervisor at a similar-style food/drink place and would be disappointed is this is the service my staff provided to customers. Not to mention our drinks were sitting on a separate counter for at least 15 minutes. We got them all melted, in addition to our lukewarm waffles. PLEASE go to a literally any other Boba place. Popped by Sunday night to grab boba on the way home. We found this easily as it's located in a food court area and by a mall entrance. Cashier was very friendly and answered our questions we had about a few drinks. I got the taro milk tea and she asked what size, sweetness, and ice level I wanted. My friend got the brown sugar milkshake. We were the only ones there so drinks were made very quickly. Not the best taro milk tea I've had but my friend really enjoyed her drink and service was excellent. If you're looking for a good place to drink Okinawa , this is the boba store to go to. All other stores -- there is either too much sugar, or the drink doesn't look good, or the boba is hard, or the ice ruins the flavor of the milk. This one is perfect! Came to Westgate after not having been here for YEARS and holy cow, things have changed. Big win to have boba tea available in the mall, for one! Located in a strip of asian food places, this place had the longest line, but it moved along incredibly quick. I ordered my go-to drink, passionfruit green tea and added herbal jelly, 50% sweet/50% ice. I had hoped to replace the coconut jelly with it, but substitutions are not a thing, so I made the poor decision to just add the herbal jelly. I panicked at the register so I just didn't think about telling them to just leave their coconut jelly at home. I should have asked to leave out the coconut jelly. Despite being 50% sweet, it made the drink way sweeter than I wanted. Not undrinkable, but definitely too much sugar for my taste. 50% also was not very 50%. I got to the end of my drink and it was pretty filled with ice still, so I spent the next 20 minutes wandering Targeting slurping out the remains of my boba and jellies. The place is being operated very nicely with sanitizers available upfront. Staff is really nice in suggesting add-ones for the order. I placed an order for taro milk tea with mango jelly but they didn't have mango jelly so they were really nice to suggest white pearls instead. The order was made very quickly and ready to go. This location is awesome! The staff and manager is very knowledgeable on the different bobas you can try. The staff is so helpful. I ordered several drinks and they were all delicious. I will definitely will be going back to this location. It's located in a mall which is ok. I'm glad they have a Ross and TJ Max but I can go to this Gong Cha location and have a sweet snack while I shop. I can't wait to go back to this place! Worst Gong Cha I've ever tried. We came here to grab drinks prior to our movie. First and foremost, they were slow as heck. They had 3 people working with a 4th guy running in and out to grab water for himself; giving us that false hope he would help clear the queue. Nope. The cashier clearly hated his job.
