Post late lunch with some college buddies from across the way, we decided to stop by (we are all fans!) for refreshments. It was, after all, a scorching and hot SoCal day! I had tunnel vision, of course. It's the only thing I wanted. My friends ordered ahead of time so it was good and ready by the time we came through. Most the time I order online, always many drinks at a time. I came here last week in person and ordered 7 drinks. This was only my second time coming here in person. We came here after dinner around 7PM and there was already a pretty long line. The menu can be a little confusing to look at since all their specials are only on the big screens above the register. Service is pretty fast. I got the chocolate chip waffle deluxe which came with two scoops of ice cream covered in chocolate sauce and nuts. The waffle was still hot so the chocolate chips inside were melting, which went perfectly with the cold ice cream. The ice cream was creamy and delicious, it definitely hit the spot no matter how full I was after dinner. The oolong milk tea was also good although it is pretty sweet. 4 stars for desserts/drinks 2 stars for service I've always liked the desserts and drinks from Meet Fresh. The hot almond drink warms you up on a cold day and is not too sweet. The grass jelly desserts and drinks are consistently satisfying. However, I have noticed that service has dwindled to be almost non existent over time. When I went recently, you either have to order on their kiosk or online, which is fine most of the time. However, the ladies in front of me were having trouble ordering on the kiosk and stood around for a long time trying to figure it out while the single employee at the store stood behind the counter with nothing to do. It wasn't until the ladies went up to her to ask for help that she reluctantly stepped out to assist. Meanwhile, a long line has formed behind us for the kiosk. I couldn't order online because the website was buggy and wouldn't load. I understand that there is a shortage of workers right now which is probably why they are making people order online/on the kiosk, but I think it would be more efficient if people can still order from the counter if it is not too busy, or at the very least, have more than one kiosk for people to order from, especially when the website doesn't work. I'd still continue to come for the drinks, but will probably try to only come if I can order ahead online. read more

I'm unsure why this place has such low ratings but I gave it a try anyway (I made sure to come here multiple times to get an accurate review). The desserts as a whole are pretty good. I typically go for the double taro signature but I would also recommend the Passionfruit sorbet C for a more refreshing/cooling dessert. The shaved ice was just alright in my opinion. If you're someone who needs a dessert that has a super strong flavor, this place isn't for you. It's for the people who want a light and not a super sweet dessert to finish off the night. The only complaint I have is that they're not super consistent. The taste is the same but the amount differs depending on the staff that makes your order. I've had times where they barely fill the bowl halfway and other times where they fill the bowl completely. The bathrooms aren't the cleanest either but I usually don't have to use them. It can also get pretty crowded on the weekends, especially this location, so the tables aren't always cleaned after every customer. It's not super dirty though because most customers eat off the tray they give you so any spillage lands on the tray. read more

Came in on a Wednesday evening around 8PM not expecting there to be a crowd, but to my surprise there were plenty of tables filled. The store is spacious with plenty of tables and booths, for both small and large groups. Parking may be an issue as this location is located in Diamond Jamboree Plaza, which can get crowded on the weekend. There is one menu, but the font and pictures are pretty small so you have to stand close to read it, making a slight crowd surrounding the screen. There is an additional menu at the cashier but since there is only one cashier, the line can back up if you don't know what you want to order. I ordered the Signature Icy Grass Jelly to go and by the time I got home (10 min drive), it was still icy and didn't melt. It came with one complimentary creamer and was not too sweet. There was another "server" there but he didn't even help with the orders when there was a list of people waiting, he was just lingering around in the kitchen. I go up to politely ask about my order since it should only take about 30 seconds to make my drink. Honestly, the boba here is pretty good. There's a lot of choices and the price is very fair for a boba, $4-5 is about what you'd expect with boba and all. Park in the parking structure behind Diamond Jamboree, as this area is usually extremely busy at all hours and the lot is often full af. They have a ton of options like adding jelly, boba, etc in your drink and a wide selection of desserts, and the line moved super fast and efficient. Personally, I like the boba balls being soft and easy to consume, while they nailed the sweetness levels well. At 25-50%, it's pretty good. Only complaint is the parking really. It's so bad it almost makes this place not worth coming just for this lol. But I recommend coming here if you have at least one other place to visit here because coming here just for boba may not be worth the traffic. Maybe go to the Korean market or get 85C, I don't know. It was decent but didn't stand out to me. Recently, I found myself going back 4 times within 2 weeks since I've tried their hot items. I got the hot grass jelly and tofu pudding bowls. Both were very light, soothing, not overly sweet, and like a warm hug on a cold winter night. I prefer cold grass jelly due to the firmer texture. The hot tofu pudding, on the other hand, has never disappointed me. You can add any toppings of your choice. My go-to are boba, red bean, sesame balls (can I have more than 2 please?), and melon/lychee jelly. Their dessert is a little pricey in my opinion, especially when you might get carried away with the toppings. 50 cents add up fast! However, the portion is quite big and good for sharing. Going alone? No worries! I packed half of the tofu pudding home and heated it up the next day: good as new! Will come back for more tofu (of course) and to try other items to give this place a better overall review. Ps: If you order the tofu pudding for the first time, don't be shocked when you see it in real life compared to the photo in the menu. I was shocked, indeed. To be frank, my first experience at Meet Fresh was not great. A few years back, someone messed up our order here and we somehow ended up with a bowl of only boba balls LOL. So I've been a bit hesitant to come back after that, but I was convinced recently when I heard about how good the desserts can be (when ordered correctly hahaha). We just got the Icy Grass Jelly Signature and it was good!! My experience with ice-based desserts stops and ends with Korean shaved ice but this was another great one to add to my repertoire. I didn't imagine that grass jelly and taro balls would go well with ice, but it surprisingly did. They're only doing pick ups right now and have closed their indoor seating area. DJ does have a good amount of outdoor seating areas though, so that came in handy as we could eat the dessert while it was still icy. We also got a few Mung Bean Cakes, which were nutty and subtly sweet. Enjoyed those as well although I can tell they may appeal more to older folks.
