Peach green tea and peach shave ice
    Heather C.

We really enjoyed the peach green tea and the peach shave ice because it was refreshing on a hot summer day. The tea is not very sweet and the peach shave ice was delicious. The dessert and drink came out fast and the place was clean.

I can see how this place gets hectic during a rush. We came a little after opening and there weren't any other customers inside. The workers seemed to be working on their online orders, so couldn't really be bothered to greet us. Luckily, there are kiosks are there for you to order (which we did). Desserts here are classic. We love Meet Fresh because it is usually consistent (can't really mess it up). We usually get the Icy Grass Jelly Signature (with extra half & half), Oolong milk tea, and mango green tea. Cold desserts are so refreshing on a hot day. They also have warm versions of these desserts which are so comforting on a cold day. Plenty of seating inside and they have some seating on the outside.

Red bean soup signature (comes with taro, sesame balls, sweet potato mochi, red bean, and boba)

I came here to pick up the signature Red Bean soup (4/5) which comes with two big scoops of taro, tanyuan (sesame filled mochi balls), sweet potato mochi, red bean, and boba all in a warm, sweetened red bean soup! I really enjoyed the toppings in this one with the tanyuan being filled with sweetened black sesame, the taro being lightly sweetened that went so well with the red bean soup, and the boba and sweet potato mochi consistency was so bouncy. I do wish they gave more of the sweet potato mochi balls or more of the mochi balls but the regular serving at $10/11 is a nice size for one person if hungry or two if just for dessert. Mine came out only warm and wish it was hotter but I just reheated it back at home. They do NOT update their in progress and ready numbers on the screen much lol so watch out for it being called by looking at your receipt number.

The pudding and q mochi milk shaved ice was lacking in flavor and seemed pretty gimmicky. It comes with a lot of elements like puddings and mochi and jelly, but it is all tasteless. The texture of the shaved ice is also way too hard, it's not soft like at other places. Not worth the $15 and the service was not good

I always love coming to Meet Fresh after eating in the Diamond Jamboree plaza for dessert. The store is spacious with plenty of seating. Even on a Tuesday night there was a lot of people eating here. We ordered the crystal mochi milk shaved ice which came out fast and was delicious and big enough for us to share amongst 4 girls. We were waiting on our hot items that we ordered - Hot Grass Jelly combo and Bubble waffle. We were waiting for almost 30 min and we never saw our number move out of the In Progress to Ready on the digital board. The staff wasn't calling out numbers either and where we were sitting we were far from their serving area. When we finally went to check up on our order, apparently it's been sitting out there for a long time and our hot items already cooled down. We asked for them to reheat our bubble waffle so at least it's warm. I think the staff wasn't updating any of the orders that it's ready on the board bc all the parties around us had to go check on their order. The food is still consistent but all the customers can only count on that order board to get our order. It was disappointing we were waiting around for a long time not knowing our food was already ready and it got cold sitting out there.

After my lobster dinner, stopped by this Meet Fresh location on the way home for a dessert. Same as the other location in Tustin, service was very slow even though they have five (5) associates working behind the counter and making dessert I stood there for a long time and no one even acknowledged my presence nor asked me what I needed, or how they can help me. I realized that they have a self-order kiosk but someone has been on it forever doing his orders for a table of four. I finally had to ask out loud to get their attention if I can order. The dessert wasn't cheap but it was very good. The place however, was not clean, tables were sticky with foods and crumbs leftover from previous customers and no one wipes them down.

Luv a good meet fresh. Staff were helpful and accommodating. Inside seating available. First time trying the taro it was plump, chewy and filling. Grass jelly was refreshing! Wish there was a little more of the crushed ice to balance everything but still enjoyed chewing and chewing. If you're not a fan of boba or mochi texture this may not be your thing. I'd recommend trying the shaved ice!

We tried the boba shaved ice. It came with a syrup with the boba My bro crave this. He says this boba is hard to make. Need constant stirring Dessert is great Dessert Service is fast But not enough staff cleaning tables. 1/3 of the tables needs cleaning Bathroom broken and smelled like chlorine?? We sat outside :-/

After seeing the restroom I refused to eat here. Keep in mind that the employees making the food use that restroom too and it's disgusting!!! There are puddles on the floor (fall hazard AND sanitation violation). The door and walls are black with dirt. The whole restroom smells like wet dog and is humid. It looks like the trash can has never been cleaned. The sink inside the restroom is gross, but there is another sink just outside the restroom door. The water in that sink gets scalding hot and literally almost burned me. I don't know how this place hasn't been shut down. Eat at your own risk here! See video and pictures. Appalling.

So many options! I recommend going when they are not too busy. Most of the time I always see a lot of others here. But I came in the afternoon to get their red bean soup. Will need to come back to try other items

    Chloe L.

It seems like they changed their menu recently as they don't have as many shaved ice bowls as they used to. I also noticed that the grass jelly bowl doesn't include a lot of the toppings it formerly did and I had to pay extra for the melon jelly which used to automatically come with the item (I believe it also used to come with boba, but I didn't pay extra for that this time). I think I prefer more variety with less of each item than giving more of the glutenous rice cubes.

This chain is known for more traditional Taiwanese shaved ice and chewy balls. We ordered the signature icy taro ball, which was a good amount for two people. I think this type of Taiwanese shaved ice is meant to be more on the light side, I prefer sweeter desserts. I wish they gave more of the creamer, I think we age it all very early and the bottom portion of the bowl did not have any. I would definitely get one of the bigger shaved ices since they have more flavor, but the portion size is pretty big. Diamond jamboree is busy as always and parking will be hard, but this store wasn't too crowded on a Wednesday evening. There was plenty of seating, though the tables did not seem like they were regularly cleaned.

Cold Tofu with Boba and Rice Balls
    Beto R.

With the temperature hitting the 80s, we stopped by Meet Fresh for some shaved ice. The store is huge for a dessert shop with seating for 60+ people. Orders can be placed through 2 in-store digital panels or at the counter. Each order comes with customizations such as how much sugar and ice, plus you can also add extra toppings like rice ball, taro, jelly and boba at additional charges. Adding toppings can be fun, but the cost will add up quite quickly. We ordered the following: Icy Taro Ball Signature with 1/2 Sugar: The shaved ice was smooth, and all toppings were fresh and delicious. The reduced sugar option was perfect, refreshing without being overly sweet. Cold Tofu with Boba and Rice Balls: Tofu was silky soft and the rice balls and boba had a very nice texture. The downside: 30 minutes wait to get the orders when the store was not busy. Hopefully it was one those rare short staffed days.

Do you have any sugar-free desserts, bakery items, coffee/lattes, or other refreshing drinks for pre-diabetics?…

Hi Cece, Thanks for your question! Many of our desserts are not sugar-free. However, many…

I was trying to place an order through Postmates/Uber Eats and noticed none of your icy grass jelly combos are on there. Are they going to be available soon?

Hi Carol, thanks for your question. Our grass jelly ingredients are imported from Taiwan to ensure authenticity and quality. We're facing a delay in logistics at the moment and unfortunately, it is temporarily unavailable. We hope to bring the items…

Are any of your shaved ice options vegan?

Hi Tracy! Unfortunately, none of our Shaved Ice items are vegan as all of the options contain ice cream and condensed milk/other dairy derivatives (Taro Paste). You can always ask associates to omit any dairy items in your Shaved Ice items. However,…

Does your winter melon tea have caffeine in it?

Hi Tammy, thanks for your question! The Winter Melon Tea does not contain any caffeine.

Are there non other non dairy options besides soy?

Hi Shaeli, thanks for your question! Unfortunately we do not carry other non-dairy options for our drinks. For reference, most of our desserts are vegan and do not contain dairy products.

How do you cook the frozen prepackaged rice balls?

Hi Emily! Here's a how-to for cooking the frozen Rice Balls:…

What tea is used for their herbal tea? It tastes exactly like herbal jelly, so I wanted to check if they added any tea to it or if it is just the same herb-filled liquid they use to make the jelly.

Think of it this way Herbal Jelly = Less sweetened herbal tea added in agar to be jello.

    Are you offering curbside pickup?

Unfortunately the plaza offered no curbside for such service. Also extremely understaffed.

    Any vegan options?

Hi Amy! Most of our items are vegan-friendly. There are a few items that contain dairy, milk, creamer, whipped cream, or condensed milk. Be sure to check-in with a store associate for more information regarding the nutrition facts of our items.

What do you use as sweetener in the milk tea? High fructose corn syrup? White sugar? Honey?

Everything in the store is sweeten with genuine sugar.

Can I just get the toppings? I only want to eat a lot of taro balls

Yeah, it would just be $1 per serving.

Do they offer ordering by app or phone?

Hi Julie, currently you can place orders through the Meet Fresh app or through Yelp. We are not accepting phone orders at the time due to high order volumes. Hope to see you soon!

    Are they open on Christmas?

Yes, Meet Fresh is open regular hours on Christmas day 11am to 11pm on weekdays and 11am to 12am on weekends.

It says "Please return trays to return area." Where is the 'return area'? I see a 'pickup area' only.

There is a return area next to the utensils and napkins station, which is also next to the bathrooms. Keep walking towards the back of the store and you'll see it on the right.

Any non dairy options for the drinks?

Yeah, they have a new soy milk option for drinks and you can even substitute the milk in the drinks with soy.

Does your dessert contain any gluten products?

Hi Thanh, most of our items are gluten-free. However, the barley, sesame ball, Q mochi, mung bean cakes, and nougat cookies contain gluten.

Do you have less sweetened red bean soup? Love the red bean but would like less sugar?

They can do less sweet, but they add water to make it less sweet

Hui Lau Shan -- Mangoes, Brain Freeze & One Bee Awaiting the Hereafter…read more 9/7/26 -- Irvine, CA -- 5/5 After Korean BBQ, we arrived at Hui Lau Shan -- pronounced roughly hoy lo sahn in Cantonese -- already stuffed to the structural limits of the human abdomen. Naturally, this seemed like an appropriate time for dessert. Hui Lau Shan is a Hong Kong-based dessert chain heavily devoted to mango, which is immediately apparent from the display case filled with glossy dessert mannequins identified by little tags like "J3 Pomelo & Mango with Sago." The place knows its constituency. If mango is your religion, this is at minimum a chapel. The Irvine location itself is remarkably unpretentious: cracked, slightly sticky-looking concrete floors, deafening music that sounded approximately 15 years past its cultural sell-by date, and a youthful crowd containing several people whose legs appeared skinnier than my fingers. I felt less like a customer and more like an archaeological specimen temporarily admitted for observation. Being the radical nonconformist that I am, I came to a mango dessert shop and ordered the watermelon with coconut jelly. On a hot Irvine day, it was excellent -- cold, clean, refreshing and just sweet enough. 5/5. The little yellow Hui Lau Shan spoon, complete with cheerful fruit-headed mascot, provided an additional level of emotional support I did not know dessert utensils were capable of. We also had the J3 Pomelo & Mango with Sago, which arrived as mango, pomelo, sago and a scoop of mango ice cream lounging together in a bowl like wealthy relatives at a resort. Also 5/5. Cold enough to initiate a brain freeze, but on this particular evening brain activity had already been reduced considerably by KBBQ, so little was lost. The ordering system is straightforward: your receipt gives you an order number and server name, and the display samples make choosing fairly idiot-resistant. Ours even identified the J3 and the watermelon dessert clearly enough that no graduate degree in tropical fruit studies was required. There was, however, one melancholy resident inside the display case: a small bee apparently trapped behind the plastic among the immaculate fake desserts. Outside, Irvine remained warm and prosperous. Inside, mangoes glistened. The young remained young. The bee contemplated mortality. Los Angeles throws pollution into the atmosphere at rush hour; Hui Lau Shan throws mango into essentially everything else. A very good dessert stop after an irresponsibly large meal. Especially if you love mango, shaved ice, fruit desserts and the mild humiliation of realizing everyone around you appears young enough to be your intern. 5/5. If you are a mango lover, you will probably leave happy. If you are a dying bee trapped behind the dessert display, your evening is developing somewhat differently.

There is no internet. They shuffle you through and on to the next one. The pastry items are incredible and worth the trouble.

What Cream Pan is known for, to the point where people call this a cream pan. Solid and I prefer their pastry cream over the whipped cream that a lot of places use. You can easily buy as a set. The more you buy, the larger the discount. It feels like it's gone through shrinkflation though. Also not as good as it used to be. Adzuki cream: 10/10. The hidden star of the place. Absolutely phenomenal. Great flavor. The whipped cream is slightly too sweet but amazing otherwise. Love the red bean in here. There's a good mix of textures. Feels light thanks to the cream. Cream puff: 6/10. Was disappointed by this to be honest. Other pastries I've tried like the one in the photo are just okay. Nothing stand out. Customer service isn't great. Someone cut in front of me and they didn't care. Free parking and plenty of it since it's a large plaza.

Sadly, the jasmine tea cheesecake was one of the worst desserts we've had. It tasted so unpleasant that we ended up throwing away what you see in the photo because we simply couldn't take another bite. The checkout experience was also a little unusual. The cashier told us the credit card machine wasn't working, so the only payment options were cash or sending a Zelle payment directly to the owner. There was a small handwritten sticky note with an individual's name and phone number for the Zelle payment, which felt a bit odd. To be fair, there wasn't a large selection available when we visited, so it's possible they have other pastries or desserts that are much better than what we tried. However, based on our experience, the item we purchased was disappointing, and the $12 definitely didn't feel well spent. On the positive side, the décor and overall aesthetic were lovely and were probably the bakery's strongest feature. But as the saying goes, you can't judge a book by its cover... and you can't judge a bakery by its ambience either.
