Meet Fresh is one of my favorites! They specialize in Taiwanese desserts. I would go out of my way to come here. Been coming here for probably over eight years. My go to is their Icy Grass Jelly Signature. I used to add on Barley but I am so sad to see that they took it off their menu, please bring this back!! I ordered Sesame Rice Balls for the first time, delicious! I've had their Mangoberry Milk Shaved Ice before in the past and it's really good!! Even Cardi B loves this spot. I don't think you could go wrong with anything you order on their menu. It's located in a shopping plaza, Diamond Jamboree, with a free parking lot and parking structure. This plaza can get quite busy at prime hours and while parking can be a bit difficult, I've never had issues finding parking, I just parking a little further away from the shop. The service is friendly, you can order at the counter or order from a kiosk. It can get pretty busy at prime hours with a line but it moves pretty quickly and I don't wait long to order. There's a lot of inside seating. I also don't wait long for my order to come. It's a very casual spot, nice to hang out with friends here. I'm not sure why this place only has three and a half stars, makes me sad since I love this place so much, should have at least four stars. I think some people can be very harsh with their reviews, maybe cut the employees some slack. read more

This place was super intimidating to me. Such foreign concoctions for dessert and yet so delightful and fun! I got the Q Mochi milk shaved ice this time. Taro balls, melon, jelly, creamy vanilla ice cream, on shaved ice. Last time it was a bowl. Both really flavorful and unique. Funny how i feel healthy and light eating dessert. It's a casual place with walk up counter, and plenty of seating. I recommend for a sweet tooth yet light and enjoyable dessert. read more

I wish they would figure out their operations because the line is always so long and they started forcing people to order from the kiosk which is not super intuitive if you are trying to earn or use their rewards. read more

Meet Fresh was the perfect oasis on a heated day with UV index 9. Upon entering, I felt immediately transported to a different continent that was not North America. We got the Red Bean Milk Shaved Ice and Hot Grass Jelly Soup. The Soup was deliciously thick to the touch and taste. Perched precariously atop the shaved ice was a scoop of ice cream which posed to us an entertaining challenge as we scooped to preserve the structural integrity of this frozen food. We got this in the size large which more accurately should be described as gargantuan and proceeded to send the matriarch of our trio into a food coma. However, the cravings were satisfied and the good energy flowed vigorously even after we departed this dessert destination. read more

Came in a weekday evening around 5 or 6pm when it wasn't busy. I like the layout of this Meet Fresh with their booth seating by the wall. My rating: Icy Grass Jelly Combo C with Almond Jelly and Taro Balls - 9/10, I always order this at every meet fresh I go to. (Super subjective but) I liked how the toppings were scattered on top over being sectioned off. The service was fine, and I had a good experience here for dessert! read more

I usually love eating here but unfortunately I will probably never come back. They usually take 30+ minutes with previous orders of mine but I give them grace because it is always busy & at least I see other orders coming out. However, today it seemed like nothing was coming out for anyone and we waited over an hour for our order and it still was not ready so eventually we just asked to be refunded and left. As someone who works in customer service/food service, I understand being short staffed and it being busy, but if it seems like there is no progress of any order & nothing is coming out at all, there is definitely a bigger problem than staffing! Even with it being so busy, none of the staff let any of the customers ordering at the self kiosk or register know that there will be a very long wait! read more

Went at 6 PM on a weekday. Completely empty inside. Two young waitresses stood at the front desk playing on their phones, didn't acknowledge us at all. We stood right in front of them, and they made no effort to greet us or take our order. They seemed to expect everyone to use the self-order kiosk. This is ridiculous. This used to be one of my favorite spots, but now I think it's only a matter of time before they close. read more

Absolutely Disrespectful Service - Never Coming Back If I could give zero stars, I would. I came to Meet Fresh with my family expecting a nice, chill treat, what we didn't expect was to be met with the worst attitude from a staff member named Jonathan, who clearly had no interest in doing his job with any decency. He was sarcastic, rude, and gave us the most passive-aggressive body language the entire time, like we were an inconvenience just by existing. From eye rolls to sighs, to the way he barely responded to simple questions, it was clear we weren't welcome. There was no smile, no welcoming greeting like "hello," nothing remotely professional. It felt like he was doing us a favor by taking our order. Newsflash, Jonathan: you work there. That's your job. We left feeling uncomfortable, unwelcome, and honestly a bit shocked by how bad the interaction was. We won't be back. Not worth supporting a business that lets someone with that attitude represent them at the front. read more

Overrated dessert house. Every time we ordered the grass jelly, it came out very watery like soup. If you think that's how it supposed to look or taste, you are wrong. Check out the same grass jelly bowl we got from the other store, and you can see the difference. And Meet Fresh charges more for fewer toppings. read more

Meet fresh is my mom's favorite dessert place in Irvine because it's refreshing and not too sweet. We always get the signature grass jelly but my new favorite item definitely has to be their shaved ice. Although theres sul n beans right across the street, the shaved ice here has it's own personal appeal. Their seasonal fruit ones are my favorite but I recently tried the mochi and taro ball shaved ice tower and it was a very pleasant surprise. Unlike sul and beans, one of these shaved ices can definitely feed up to four people, so come prepared. read more

This absolutely the worst location ever for meet fresh, why have only 2 people working in the front when there's a line full of people with one machine to take orders. Orders took around 20-30 minutes and this was one of the most disappointing dessert I've ever tried, the mochi was so underwhelming and okay. The boba was DISGUSTING, literally just water and boba you can't taste anything at all I threw it away after 3 sips, such a waste of money never get drinks here it's always disappointing. The ice grass jelly is average you literally can just make this at home. Never coming to this location again nor any meet fresh, hopefully the owners see every single bad review coming in and change their system in this store. read more

Horrible service and the food was really bad. Been a fan of meet fresh for several years and every time i eat it i usually have the intention of going back again. However, I don't know what is going on with the store, the food quality has been getting worse and worse. It's so ridiculous that there happened to be an ice cube inside the shave ice and the shave ice is made irresponsibly in terms of both looks and taste. We decided to give Meet Fresh a try as we had HaiDiLao for dinner in the same plaza on Sep 15 around 6:25PM. Always saw this place in videos so had to come by for dessert since I'm visiting from San Francisco. The space is nice and a lot of seating - definitely a nice hangout spot with friends. We ordered the Iced Grass Jelly Combo C and added Taro balls (10 PCs) to it for $8.75 + $1.25. For such a big place, they only have ONE bathroom. I was trying to use the restroom but some lady and her kid kept turning the door knob and knocking. All I hear is the mother on the phone then they walked away and came back 1 minute later. She was clearly too busy to pay attention that I haven't came out of the restroom yet. That's not really the point of this review but it would be great to have more than one restroom for such a big hangout spot. The review is mainly for the experience we had. The dessert came out quickly - in under 5 minutes. There were 2 instances that I didn't appreciate: -When I was going to the restroom, I saw the I assume supervisor or manager on duty because he had a brown bandana and the other 2 guys had black bandanas. I think a customer had an issue with their order because they were talking to one of the black bandana guys and suddenly the brown bandana one came over. His attitude didn't seem the friendliest but he offered to remake their order. -After eating a bit from our bowl, I noticed one of their boards on the wall opposite of me that had picture of the Taro Balls topping that I asked for. I looked at our bowl and thought "wait, did they forget our Taro Balls?" So I went up to the counter and asked the brown bandana guy since he was running the registers. I asked him if the Taro Balls were missing and instead of immediately fixing my order and apologizing, he turned to the 2 guys behind him and shouted "Who made number 22?" And he was waiting for an answer while I'm just there waiting on him to give me my missing item. Later on I glanced at the front desk and noticed the one with the brown bandana talking to one of the black bandana guy's and he looked uncomfortable. I assume he was being lectured or coached on the spot. Not a bad spot but the employees didn't deserve to be treated that way over minor mistakes. read more

Restroom is disgusting, floor is covered in urine and wet paper. Repulsive. Trash filled the floor, bins were overflowing with trash, it's evident it had not been cleaned once when we visited at 6pm. Not ever returning. One can only imagine how unsanitary the staff is, literally gagging. It doesn't help that the servers are rude and completely detached as they flippantly take your orders while other staff rudely yells out order numbers incoherently. Clearly there is no one responsible or mature enough to properly operate this poorly "managed" establishment. Sad that the owner permits this? It's so unfortunate because the food is good and we have always enjoyed our desserts. Sadly after years of enjoying meet fresh, it's frightening to think if the staff even washes their hands, seeing how dirty the restrooms are as well as how sticky and dirty the tables are? read more

Always a regular here but lately feeling customer service is going down hill. Tray area was dirty with trash everywhere. Bathroom was filthy, the floor was completely wet with toilet paper all over. Looks like the bathroom is not upkept. My husband almost slipped. Ordered Togo however never received a order confirmation text or a text for when my order was ready. This is a very Traditional Taiwanese dessert play that is famous in Taiwan. So I think the taste is geared more for those who like Asian dessert flavors. Generally not as sweet. They have a lot of refreshing drinks and desserts. The herbal ice with jelly is our favorite. It's a very Taiwanese thing. For those of us who grew up eating this jelly from the can, the herbal jelly they serve here is amazing. I can't go back to the canned stuff. Only my Taiwanese dessert compadres will understand what I'm talking about. read more

It was OK. Let's start off with the sorbet. I love the texture, and it has many elements to this desert. The only thing that was lacking was the flavor of the passion fruit. So I give this 3/5. This 5 star comes out to their new coconut series. Tried their coco sago drink, and it is very nice. It reminded me of my fav dessert drink spot. Hints of coconut flavor. The drink has a thick texture too. With taro and sago topping. The drink is very unique, hard to explain what it taste like. All I can say is after that first sip, my eyes lit up. Parking here is tough depending on the day/time you go. On days that are not packed, parking can be really easy. But around dinner time and on weekends, parking is horrible. You can order via a kiosk in the back, order online, or wait in line. I got the Boba & Caramel Pudding and Cold Coco Sago Soup Signature (contains Sago, Mini Q, Taro, Boba, Coconut Mochi, and Coconut Milk). The Boba & Caramel Pudding was small and perfect as a small bite. The pudding was soft and silky. The Cold Coco Sago Soup Signature was okay. You'd have to mix everything well to get a good flavor, otherwise, some things taste pretty bland. I love meet fresh. I've been to meet fresh a number of times and have tried a decent number of things on their menu. I will admit that not everything on their menu is amazing but certain items just hit the spot. I recommend the Icy Grass Jelly Signature bowl. The ice is flavorful and the jelly is a perfect amount of not too sweet and refreshing. My favorite add-ons are the taro balls (included in the Icy Grass Jelly signature bowl) and the Q mochi sticks. read more

Visiting California and really wanted some authentic Asian desserts (Taiwanese to be specific; Hong Kong/Cantonese has similar dessert types using Sago and fruits vs. beans and mochi). Though the reviews weren't very positive and many reviewers noted the poor customer service, I found everything to be fine. There are two methods to placing your order; 1. Wait in line and physically place your order with a staff or 2. Electronically place your order through their kiosk that's located to the left of the entrance. Their soup-based and shaved ice desserts are more of an acquired taste and if you've not had red bean soups, mochi balls, or taro then this may not be something you'd enjoy. I placed my order through one of the staffs and asked for recommendations. I found this experience to be positive and the desserts were on point! Think of it this way Herbal Jelly = Less sweetened herbal tea added in agar to be jello.

First I must say this place is pretty authentic so it might not be fond of people who are used to the tea and shaved ice in the US. For those of you that haven't tried Taro, it's either love or hate it. Red bean here is freshly cooked unlike some other places tastes like from a can. No fruits here, beans, vegetables(sweet potatoes, taro, taro balls,taro rice balls), and chewy stuff. You can customize your own taro ball series and herbal jelly series, no more than 5 toppings now I heard. can sub boba to something else. what else... I am not a fan of rice balls and sesame rice balls...I just don't like the taste. and sesame rice balls normally take ten mins to cook...if they are broken, the kitchen cooks it again. so it might take longer time. Staff: many new faces, so desserts can actually take longer to be done. Drinks: traditional G-milk tea, herbal tea with cream, winter melon tea with herbal jelly, hot black tea , taro slush without the cream. I dislike fruit tea no4 so sour xD Hot: hot herbal jelly no 6...sub crystal jelly to small taro balls or taro rice balls haha, purple rice porridge with crystal jelly and taro rice balls. In the Spring of 2008, I visited Taiwan and gained something like 8 lbs. in a span of 1 month. I ate everything with the mentality that I probably will not have it again for a very long time. Meet Fresh was the main culprit for my weight gain besides my own lack of self-control. With that said, I was very intrigued and interested when a co-worker told me that Meet Fresh had opened a location in Irvine. Fast forward to Meet Fresh Irvine 2017 and my experience was nothing that could lead to a weight gain. This place has so much potential yet it fails miserably at delivering a good product. I ordered their Hot Herbal Grass Jelly with red beans, taro, and their signature rice balls. For $1 extra, I also added their sweet potato rice balls filled with taro paste filling. It cost me nearly $9 for my order. My hot grass jelly came to me lukewarm. The taro rice ball with taro filling was practically cold. This kind of dish is really not good if it's lukewarm. Moreover, the taro pieces were so nasty I couldn't finish it and I looovve taro. I brought the taro pieces home hoping the raccoons and possums in my yard would eat it since those guys eat everything. Even the raccoons and possums rejected the taro from here. Me and my friends were here today and I ordered a melon tea with small toro ball ($4.5), it was way way too sweet for me and toro ball was kind of hard, so I kindly ask them to make it less sweet for me which they did, but it was still too sweet and water down for me, so I ask if I can pay the difference and get something else, surprisingly they won't let me, they keep on offering me to make it less sweeten only, at this time, I don't want to make a scent so I just ask them to put it in a to-go cup for me, which I discard when I walk out their door. Possibly the most disappointing dessert I've eaten. The first impression I had was already a deceiving one. I thought I was lining up for sushi. It must have been the lanterns that were hung up that resembled majority of the sushi joints we've seen. The menu and pictures looked delicious and I was honestly looking forward to the taro and sweet potato mochi balls. When we finally got to taste what we ordered after what felt like an hour of wait time, everything ordered was bland. I came here on Wednesday night and ordered 2 of Signature Icy bowls, one for dine in and one for togo. I really enjoyed the bowl for dine in and was looking forward to enjoy the other one at home. But I was disappointed when I opened this, the shaved ice was too little, not even half of the other one I had at store, even though I paid the same amount of money! This wasn't the first time, nor the second, it was the third time already. Got to stop in for their soft opening this week as they are still getting the store ready for a grand opening soon, and absolutely loved the desserts! We had a chance to try the MeetFresh Signature which had Purple Taro Balls and Sweet Potato Taro Balls on herbal jelly and shaved ice. Amazing. We also had their Q Mochi with caramel and coconut flakes that was probably the best mochi I have ever had, and an iced herbal tea with mini taro balls and whipped cream that was spectacular. Definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for dessert after eating anywhere at Diamond Jamboree, or nearby in Irvine at all for that matter. read more

The attitude of employees werent welcome and I felt a bit angry from them while we ordered and when they asked us to walk out to wait until they call. First time I've come back since Covid. There was no napkins inside the bag, they ran out of big taro balls, but when they asked to substitute with small taro balls for my Icey bowl. Visited Meet Fresh on a Friday afternoon with high hopes for some delicious mango and strawberry shaved ice. Unfortunately, they were completely out of mango, so we settled for the strawberry version. The strawberry shaved ice was just okay, nothing to write home about, but not terrible either. It could have been so much better with a generous helping of strawberries - they were a bit stingy in that department. On the plus side, it was a sizable portion, perfect for sharing, and the addition of ice cream on top was a nice touch. read more

This is not good, not good at all. That I am addicted to the Meet Fresh Signature. And I get what others say about it being expensive, the service is slow, the to-go portion is small, etc., because I agree. But ever since I've had it, I've been craving it everyday. Location: Located in the Diamond Jamboree plaza (on Jamboree/Alton), near Tokyo Table. Ambiance: Always packed with lines out the door. Not a lot of space or seating inside. Menu: I really like their varieties of shaved ice, but understand its kind of an acquired taste. I usually get their signature shaved ice, and it hits the spot every time. I love Meet Fresh! I tried their Black Sugar Fresh Milk with Boba and it was delicious. Perfectly sweetened and flavored. I actually wanted no Boba since I was full from my meal, but the black sugar came only with the boba part so I had to get it as it was advertised. Still delicous. Their taro and cassava balls are always fresh. Some of their shaved ice doesn't come with the creamer, so you have to request for it. Give it a try! It's really yummy if you like this kind of desert. Of course, we order the signature one and its really tasty and not too sweet. (I hate American dessert, it's way to sweet) However, the price is kind of expensive. Signature one is $7 bucks, it's almost the same as bento box price. First time we ordered a meet fresh signature, It doesn't look like the one on the menu. We didn't ask why but the server seems noticed our confuse and come explained. The one we want on the menu is the cold one, but we don't know so we ordered the warm one. We got a cold one for free after he explained, and it taste yummy! We used to love this place and lately the service here has been shitty. I guess the cashier "Paulina" is in a bad mood today. She was rude when she's getting our orders then refuse to give cream with our order. They wanted to charge a quarter for each cream that is supposed to come with the dessert. One of my friends took me here for the first time. I ordered the cold meet fresh signature and as delighted. It was very good. I'm not sure about the authenticity as some of these reviews state as I am not Taiwanese by any means. But I can say I thoroughly enjoyed the dessert and it was quite refreshing.
