After seeing all the negative reviews, I definitely had low expectations coming into this location. I've been here a few times and can confirm the service is decently fast. I wouldn't say they're specifically friendly but it wasn't like anyone was being rude so it's alright. However, they don't give a full bowl of dessert/don't really fill it up to the top and it's annoying because I'm still paying full price for this. I'm not sure if it was a coincidence but it has happened multiple times while the Yonge location actually gives you a full bowl. Also, the flavour here is a little more bland compared to the Yonge location, and the taro/yam balls seem undercooked and are hard to chew - but Kennedy is more convenient and comfortable to sit at so this one is still my go to location. read more

I'm really excited that this place has opened in Markham. I came here two weeks ago on a Saturday at 6. I had a hot herbal jelly #1 with mung bean, barley, boba, and added $1.50 for taro. The beeper beeped right at the moment I was about to sit down. The first disappointment was, they ran out of boba, which was my fave. I replaced it with red bean. Then came the second disappointment, they didn't make my order right,red bean and taro were missing . I gave it back to them and they made me a new one. I got the herbal jelly pretty fast cause there weren't many customers. Now that the weather is hot enough to properly enjoy Bingsu I decided it was finally time to try out Meet Fresh. I came in around 2pm on a Saturday and it wasn't really that busy which I was surprised about considering ZenQ and Korean Concept were both closed I thought more people would come into here. We ordered the Mochi Bingsu which we told is big enough for two people. When we got it, I was impressed that it was actually as big as the waitress suggested...usually, they over exaggerate. The mochi was squishy and the sesame one was my favourite. It had a great sesame flavour to it. I did find it a bit on the sweeter side though mix of caramel and other sugar? There was a good balance of the amount of mochi to shaved ice. Not sure why all the low reviews I actually liked this place -shrug- Service was attentive and quick and the Bingsu was to my liking. Solid 4 to 4.5 stars. I really liked this place even though service was a bit slow. I came here on a Sunday evening around 9ish and we ordered two things to share with three of us. There is a lot of variety and choices so unless you don't like this type of dessert, you are bound to find something you like. Unfortunately, I've only been here once so I can't recall exactly what our order is. I do know the shaved ice is the qq mochi one and this is huge ( a lot of ice but definitely needs to be shared). Tried their Yonge location while ago and finally decide to try this location. This is a self serve restaurant, you have to pick up and clean up the table. They had 3 workers side working and it still took them good 10 mins to finish our order. Ordered their meet fresh signature and if you signed up their membership, you can also get a free drink. Located in the T&T plaza in Unionville. Parking can be hectic at times. I had the signature jelly grass with herbal ice and Taro balls. Jelly grass was great with herbal ice. Taro balls had good chewy texture but lack Taro flavour. Overall I enjoyed it; quite refreshing and would order again. I came here just an hour before closing and it was still pretty packed! Everyone's craving cold dessert in this heat. I got the iced signature grass jelly that has grass jelly, as you can tell from the name, herbal blended ice and taro balls. I gotta say nothing looked good to me but this was really good because I love grass jelly and I thought the taro balls would be bad but it was good! The herbal blended ice tasted so good with everything else. The reason I gave a 4-star is because it's still pretty pricey considering you're not getting a very big portion and the ingredients aren't that many. I'm a regular at the Scarborough and North York Meet Fresh locations, but decided to try out the Markham one since we were in the area. I absolutely love Meet Fresh desserts and they definitely do bring back memories of having them in Taiwan. I ordered the Q Mochi Milk Shaved Ice. It's my first time trying this shaved ice and honestly...it wasn't anything special. I was excited to have the mochi but it wasn't as "Q" as I expected. Rather, they actually tasted more like a starchy, dense piece of cake. The sesame mochi on top also had an odd texture and almost felt stale. I guess this was just one of those 'looked good in the picture' desserts. My friend got the taro waffle and said it was decent but wished that there was more taro filling. To be very honest, I'm quite disappointed in the quality of this location. I came here with my mom because I love the Meet Fresh at Yonge & Finch and was so excited to find out they opened a location so close to home. I recommended my mom to get the hot meet fresh signature as the cold one was my favourite. To our lovely surprise, my mom's grass jelly came in a liquid form - basically grass jelly water. Keep in mind, I've been to the other location and have ordered the hot one before and it sure was more solidified than this black water that we got. I brought it back and asked if this was normal. The staff insisted that this was how it's suppose to be even after me mentioning that the other location was not this watery. All he said was "sorry, different kitchen staff." Not sure what he meant by that cause I'm pretty sure grass jelly shouldn't be served in a soup form by anyone?! Long story short, we kept it and ate (drank) it, in hopes that it will eventually cool down and solidify - it didn't. The only thing that's good here is the icy grass jelly (their best seller), the rest is absolute garbage. Don't try to be adventurous like my group, you'll have instant regret. I didn't really like the Q Mochi - the darker (purple?) one tasted strange, a bit herbal-y, not sure what flavour it was meant to be. The white one was coconut flavour and had some dried coconut chips on it - I'm not a big fan of coconut so didn't really enjoy it. The Signature Icy Grass Jelly was better, but for what it was - essentially just some grass jelly that you can get from the supermarket, some taro balls with syrup and a coffee creamer - $9.20 is way too expensive. read more

Compared to Yonge Street location, this one was not great , a lot of my friends came with me and the taro ball toppings were not fully cooked , waffle was made fresh but not crispy but soggy . Place needs work in the kitchen area for sure read more

Not sure what other locations taste like but here's my feedback. -Being near a ZenQ in the same plaza, I choose them -Menu is overly confusing -the rice balls were good -the cold tofu dessert only comes with 2 toppings? not flavourful enough - nothing to excite me -the hot grass jelly dessert solidified and didn't taste good and toppings cut up too small to gain any nice texture -the red bean dessert was plain not worth price -mini trio dessert is pre packaged and not cooked fresh overall the overarching theme is that everything tasted boring and "healthy". Don't know if that is what they are going for but not what I want to pay for. It lacks in flavour for sure. Verses at ZenQ i can get the special tofu dessert for around the same price which comes with giant Q balls, tapioca, sweet peanuts, red bean and a syrup you can taste. read more

I had the mango drink and I couldn't find anything special about it. Just a regular drink. What I found is that the place is clean and quiet; perhaps the time I went was late and it was a Monday. Worst experience ever! I walked in today and ordered the "Meet Fresh signature". They asked me to put tips with my payment (the minimum default tips is 10%). After I finished with my food, I cleaned up my table and put everything into the food tray. I didn't see any trash bin, so I think it's OK to just leave it on the table. When I was leaving, the waiter stopped me and said "You gotta to return the food tray." (not even could you or please). Apparently he was humiliating me for not understanding the "local culture". I have never seen such a place that charges you for tips and then asks you to return the food tray so impolitely. Ridiculous! read more

Don't know what the negative reviews are all about. We've been here a few times now and have had a pleasant experience every time. Took advantage of the buy one get on free deal to try this place out. Got the signature icy grass jelly. Was excited to try it and picked it up. Opened the desert and didn't see any cream. Thought they forgot it. Then called the store. The girl told me they ran out of grass jelly. I wasn't sure what she was referring to. I asked her about the cream and she said it was in the package on the side. I checked and saw two small dinky creamers one for each desert so I ended my phone call. Then upon eating it noticed there was barely any grass jelly and very very few taro balls. I kept fishing to find taro balls to see if they were hiding under, but there were none. I was pretty pissed and annoyed that they didn't substitute it with something else. I was pretty much eating a giant bowl of shaved ice with bits of shredded grass jelly and few taro balls and a teaspoon of cream. Perhaps because of the it was a special they decided to cheap out? If they ran out, they could've offered something else like tapioca balls or other ingredients. Not a positive experience. Won't be spending money there read more
