Horrible. My Mom and I went in for mani/pedi. The woman used the electric sander to remove my gel, to this day I still have deep grooves on my nail bed where she did this. My mani looked worse than if a 3 year old did. Every nail had bubbles looking like sandpaper, I came in the next day, they tried to blame me for having an extra coat put on. She redid my nails only to have the same thing happen again. Not sure if their nail polish is super old or what. read more

I have given this place way too many chances, I come here because it is down the street from my house and convenient but today was the last straw. The gentleman doing my simple polish change began filing my nails round, without asking how I wanted them done and when I told him I would like squared his response was, I've already began doing them round. I said, no squared please, I haven't had my nails round since I was 10! I get my nails done on a regular basis, all my nails were very obviously squared. He then said "well you'll have some round and some squared then". Ummmm Excuse me? In addition to that he got polish all over my fingers and instead of using nail polish remover with a brush he scraped the skin with his one very long nail. As he put the top coat on, he doused my nail and the clear polish dripped off the sides of my finger. It was just total sloppiness. Will never go to this place again. I spent 2 hours got the worse mani and pedi in my life. I spent 80$ John didn't even cut my cuticle and ilona did the worst pedicure of my life. I asked for value removal and she never did it but didn't hesitate to charge me for it. As soon as her appoiment came in she made someone else finish. No massage was given, 3 days later my nail polish turned a different color. Oh and don't ask for a flower design they have no idea what what they are doing . I went in for a pedicure and they told me to come back an hour later. I did and asked for a sea salt pedicure, hoping they could be done in 50 minutes. I don't think the tech understood what I asked for because I got a basic pedicure with gel polish and didn't even ask for gel. This is the first place I've ever been where they don't massage your feet. After 40 minutes I said I had to leave and asked if a basic pedicure comes with a massage. She couldn't answer my question so someone else did. Turns out it does, and a woman who came 20 minutes after me had a wrap and all and was almost ready to leave also. Even after you express your displeasure they asked for "$40 dollars please!" Terrible. Will not return. read more

Mega Nails is very convenient, I have been going there for 3 years and always had a good experience, however, Nicky has done my nails last two times and it has been an unpleasant experience. She is extremely fidgity and sloppy and seems to have no plan or routine. She starts something, them quickly starts something else, then goes back to what she was doing. She left the polish remover on my fingers with foil so long, over 30 minutes, that it burnt the ends of my fingers. She does not get all the polish off from behind the nail and the tips of my nails are rough, not smooth. I find my time with her chaotic and exhausting and I walk away feeling tense and my nails are half-assed. I absolutely hate giving bad reviews, it is much better to say good things and empower people, but I think this is just her personality, but I would suggest she really focus on her job and have less chatter so the job gets done faster and better. I will probably continue going, but request someone else. read more

Yesterday I took my senior mother to get a manicure and pedicure from Jennifer. She accidentally cut my mother's leg (calf) by hitting her to hard with her elbow, causing my mother to bleed profusely at the cut, which was deep and long (about an inch and a half). Luckily there was a doctor who came to her rescue. My mother has suffered pain and duress from this plus she needs to be under a physician' care. The owner Jennifer never offered any compensation such as offering to pay for her to see s Doctor and to top it all off, she made my mother pay for the manicure and pedicure; not very nice of Jennifer and not good business sense to treat a very good customer this way. Maybe you should think twice about going to this salon... In response to the owner' email, my mother did not have a cut on her leg before Jennifer cut her leg. Jennifer didn't cut my mother intentionally, but did cause my mother a very deep wound and much emotional distress. The doctor that came to help her stop the bleeding and dressed her wound can let you know there was no cut on my mother's leg before Jennifer hurt her. read more

My husband and I began going to Mega Nails in 2012 and have always been extremely happy. The owner John and his wife are very accommodating and ensure we are happy when we leave. Our daughter had her bridal mani-pedi party here and John even brought in champagne and some nice breakfast treats for all the girls. I go to Tom and just love his diligence. My husband likes to go to Nikki, but I've had good luck with others if Tom and Nikki aren't free! I give this a 5 star and I'm pretty darn picky with my nails! read more

My daughter and I needed to get our eye brows waxed. We stopped here because it was on our way. BIG MISTAKE!! Should have gone to where we normally go. The girl did a horrible job on both of us. We didn't notice at first because it was so dim in the room, but when we got home, oh brother! My eyebrows weren't even. She took a chunk of one of them and my daughter's were not even cleaned up correctly. I do not usually post but I'm so upset that I spent $24 for a horrible job. Will NEVER go there again. The owner and staff are very nice and friendly and cleanliness and great service! A few weeks ago I drove from Gardena to Rancho Mirage to get my nails and pedicure done by Nikki and I am completely satisfied with her work! Baby, it's worth the drive! My toe nails last me almost a month and I am very pleased and happy with the result! The pedicure chairs are so comfy and they know how to pamper you. The place are super clean and no worries of infection here. What more can you ask for! I stopped by for a drop-in pedi while on vacation and was pleased with this place. I actually had a very nice pedi from Joe, who was very careful and gentle. Also gave a great foot rub. The place seems a little dated and the polish selection is pretty good but not the best. I felt everything was very clean since they autoclave everything and use new files and buffers. This is one of the best nail salons Ive been to, even compared to the greater LA area. Sunny is the best! And so is John. They all are very good, but I have my preferences. They are most of the time accommodating and always seem to squeeze me in at the last minute :) They are clean, consistent and fast. My gel nails and pedicure last over 2 weeks at times. I've taking my mother and in-laws here and have referred several people here, who all really liked it. Great location and relaxing environment. No loud TVs and music playing. On my way now! I came to get just pedi. I didn't see them clean the tub in which you soak your feet with anything after the previous client used it. I thought maybe they would soak it with hot water to at least disinfect it a bit, however to be even more dissatisfied they "ran out of hot water". So my recommendation for any future clients would be to show up early in the day since their explanation for running out of hot water was that they had been busy early on in the day. So any time before 2:30 you can expect hot water to soak your feet in. It was the worst pedicure I have had in my entire life. I would not go back or enjoy a free pedicure as offered in other bad reviews. read more

She was more concern about getting lunch than making sure I was satisfied. I asked for a particular style of polish and the girl told me that you don't do that in the summer.. Again, she was more about getting something to eat instead of making sure I was a satisfied customer and willing to come back. Wow! I was so pleased with the service that I received from Jennifer! I went in thinking I would have to get acrylic nails because I had one of my natural nails break all the way down while all of my other nails were even length. I wanted all of my nails to be the same length again so my nails would look professional. Jennifer suggested that she just put a tip on the broken nail so that it matched the length of my others and I wouldn't have to deal with acrylic's and fills. Had a good experience the 1st time, was charged $40 and tipped $15. Decided to go in for the 2nd time and this woman had no idea what a coffin nail was and we both had to draw what we were talking about. She drew what was called stilleto nails; I wanted coffin. The tip of my nails were cut badly and I just had to stop because I'm sure it was going to look nothing like I wanted. On top of that I wasnt going to pay an extra $5 for length (the same thing I had the 1st visit) and not be satisfied including tip. Oh and 2nd person said it's $5 for gel? So usually its $40 for full set but extra $5 for length and 2nd person said $5 for gel?? How does that make sense?? So that wouldve made my nails $50 total for full set with $5 length and $5 gel. I went to another nail salon to get my nails fixed; they did an awesome job and understood what I wanted only had to say coffin nails once! They dont have patience and this lady was RUDE!! read more

I live locally, and went into this nail salon on a Sunday. I really wanted to have a good experience, but unfortunately, it was not to be. Since I was a walk in, and didn't know who was experienced enough, I was given a very young man that seemed to have little or no real working abilities. I agreed to a upgrade on the pedicure, so expected a good job. Instead, he rushed through my pedicure and literally acted like he was falling asleep between glancing at the clock. When I asked if he was OK, he just shrugged it off. My manicure was a little bit better, but unfortunately the polish popped off over the next couple of days. Yikes, I have never had polish just slide off in sheets! I would have defiantly gone back and asked for a re-do if i had been in town. Honestly, it is hard to rate this place based on a inexperienced person that works there, but given the fact that the owner hired and asked him to represent the business, I suppose it is warranted. read more

I went in for a gel manicure and was told they were out of the one color I wanted. So, I went with my second choice. It turned out to be light lavender... Which was absolutely not like the brownish plum I had chosen. And when I asked to try and change the color they tried, but I soon realized that none of the colors matched the samples on the nails! The manicure was good, and the lady who did it was very kind and tried to be helpful... But I am unhappy with the color choices and the color that I ended up with. When I tried to get into another nail salon just to change the color, they want to charge me an additional $20! Until they get their colors figured out, I won't be going back. This is the worst nail salon I've ever been to. I've given this salon four chances and will never go back. John the owner, seemed nice the first time I went to him. The 2nd time I went, he was rude and acting very arrogant. I figured he must of had something in his personal life that upset him. The 3rd time I went to him, he was very rude & unfriendly again. I think he must be bipolar or something. I told him what color of gel polish I wanted, but he said he didn't have it. I picked another similar color and he said he didn't have that one either. When I asked for the 3rd color, he didn't have it!! He told me nobody can get those colors in the entire country because they are new. He said they are only available outside of the U.S.A. I ended up having to choose another color that I really didn't want. After my appointment that day, I decided to go home & google those three gel polish colors, to see if I could order them online. Well, I found all of them on beyondpolish.com. I ordered the color I really wanted in the first place & it was delivered within 2 days, from Lake Forest, CA. It wasn't out of the country like John said, it was local. He just isn't willing to go above & beyond to make his customers happy. I decided to try someone else the 4th time I went, so I went to Jennifer and that was a HUGE mistake. She's worse than John. Jennifer is a very rude person, as well. She was in such a hurry, she never talked to me at all. I went in for a spa gel pedicure and a gel fill for my nails. Other salons always have 2 people giving you the gel fill and pedi at the same time. This salon didn't provide that! She did each one by herself and was in a big hurry. She did a horrible job and it wasn't relaxing at all. She was finished with the pedi in about 15 minutes or less and did the gel fill on my nails in 40 minutes. This is unheard of and almost impossible to get done by one person so fast! During the spa pedi, never once did she massage my legs with lotion. Terrible, pedi! When she put the gel polish on my nails & toe nails, she didn't paint all the way to the bottom of my nails. Within one week, they looked like they had 2 1/2 to 3 weeks worth of growth!! She only drilled each nail for about 3 seconds and then slipped with the drill and burnt two of my fingers. The burn pain lasted for two days. I had to put Neosporin on to heal them & kill the pain. Within 10 days, 3 of my nails were lifting, so I had to go to another salon and get a fill. I just found out one of my good friends went to Mega Nails, and Jennifer did a horrible job on her nails as well. Jennifer's work is terrible quality and she and John are both rude. I highly recommend you never go to this salon. There are so many other salons here in the Coachella Valley that do quality work & have very nice people working there. read more

My first time at Mega nails for a manicure. (The last 25 yrs I had been getting them done in SF) The manicurist I had was pleasant but it was difficult to explain to her the look I wanted. I thought she understood but as she began to put on these white tips I panicked as this what not what I wanted at all!! John, the owner, overheard and immediately intervened. He politely took me to his station. I explained to him what I wanted which was clear tips and gel and he responded with "pink and gel"! He knew exactly what I wanted and did a beautiful job, exactly the way I wanted my French manicure to look. Million thanks John.
