Ambience (5/5): We were there around 3pm for a late lunch/early dinner on a weekday so it was pretty quiet. They took over the space from Purrtea and made some changes, the decor and entire dining space look much brighter and welcoming now. Service (5/5): The waitress (didn't catch her name) was very attentive, informative, and polite. Food (5/5): Food portions are moderate, similar size to what you would be served in Asia. Appetizer - Cambodian Beef Skewer (2) Absolutely recommend!! Honestly, it's hard to stop at just two skewers--I wish they would give four instead. I was surprised to find that the beef was perfectly cooked and you could really taste the flavors of lemongrass, galangal (Thai ginger), kaffir lime. It's served over some pickled veggies. Entrees - Phnom Pehn noodle(s) It is offered in two styles: with soup or dry with soup on the side, with three noodle options: Cambodian style egg noodles, small rice noodles, or flat rice noodles. I got the soup with flat rice noodles and my partner got the dry version with small rice noodles (not pictured). Taste the broth first! There hasn't been a Cambodian spot in SF for years so I was excited to try this. When I waved down the Asian waiter she looked she didn't want to be bothered and was so standoffish. The young African American waiter was super nice and helpful and busting her a**. I ordered fried chicken for my kids. When my kids was eating I noticed it was bloody chicken. I stopped them from eating the rest and asked for a refund on the wings and showed them how bloody it was. The owners didn't want to refund it. They kept saying they will cook the chicken that we found blood in. I said no because we were leaving. They were like you can take it to-go. I said no because what if the wings were still bloody when I left and I didn't trust it. After going back and forth they offered 50% off which I took. What I ordered Fried chicken- it was ok Dry noodle- no flavor. I put the broth in the dry noodles for flavor but it still wasn't good. If you like Asian food - particularly Thai or Cambodian, this is a must place to go. This has GREAT food! We were visiting SF, staying in a neighborhood bandb, and visited this after reading several reviews. What a find!! Pad see ew, garlic green beans, (and several other dishes I cant remember the name of ) were ALL not just good but over the top excellent. Usually there's one or two dished that are good, but this place all of them were . Space was clean, light , pleasant decor, relaxing music ( and not too loud thank you!) , pleasant servers. I'm delighted to report that the food, service and ambiance was excellent. I tried the Khmer salad, Pad See ew, pumpkin curry, Korean strawberry milk and Thai iced tea. Every single item was DELICIOUS and flavorful. The salad was very bright and tasty, the Pad See Ew had great comforting flavors, perfectly cooked noodles and tender chicken. The pumpkin curry was also delicious, high quality and good spice level. For the beverages, this is possibly THE best Thai iced tea I've ever had. Which I notice is consistent with the reviews of others. I appreciate their wide selection of tasty beverages and treats going beyond just Thai iced tea. -matcha -Korean strawberry milk (A MUST TRY ) -chocolate milk -various coffee beverages -mango sticky rice and more This place just opened 2 months ago and they are providing quick service, a cozy atmosphere and great food. Do not be deterred by a simple food menu, the food is made with great care and flavor . I'm very happy for this place to add to the diversity of high quality cuisines living on Ocean Avenue. Lovely space, nice interior, and wonderful service. The dru phnom pehn noodle with soup on the side for only $10 was unheard of. Not the best I've had, with really soft noodles, but adding some thai chilis, pickled jalapenos, and fish sauce did the trick. Soup on the side was delish. But for the price it can't be beat. Pumpkin curry with chicken was also flavorful, definitely need to order a side of white rice. Mango sticky rice to sweeten the meal was perfect. read more

A thai place on Ocean!! Much needed considering this place was one of three boba spots on the same 3 block vicinity. They're soft opening, and we stopped by to eat dinner. We got the Tom Kha, Cha Kroeung, and Khmer Salad. My favorite is the Tom Kha as a soup girl. It's got a sweet aftertaste and is creamy, with not a lot of a vinegar taste which was fine by me. Cha Kroeung you can't go wrong with, it's a nice dish and it tasted great even as someone who isn't a big fan of chicken. The Khmer Salad was well dressed and the cucumbers were so juicy and tasty. I usually don't even like cherry tomatoes, I do in this case. Portion sizes are a bit on the smaller side, but that's because two of these were entrees! Now for the drinks, we got an Orange Americano. My partner loved their espresso, strong but not bitter. I just thought it was yummy, I'm not a coffee person. I also tried a Thai Tea and loved it!! I'm a sweet drink enjoyer, so this thai tea may be too sweet for some. But for me, it was perfect. The store itself is gorgeous. Showcases the location way better than the last place did. Lots of warm and inviting lighting. Really pretty in a natural way, the location itself is nice. Service was great! My favorite neighborhood Thai restaurant. Casual service and cooking from the heart. I love the leng soup, tom yum, pumpkin curry, pad Kee mao, Thai fried rice, salad rolls and beef skewers. 3.5 stars. As someone who loves Cambodian food and supporting new local restaurants, I was excited to see this restaurant. I even brought my parents to enjoy. Now starting off the Phnom Penh noodle. It was not it. As someone who has had it on a regular basis, it's missing the flavors, the punch, and toppings. It's a very popular dish so to put the name Phnom Penh noodles- it needs to live up to the name. I ordered it both soup in and dried with soup on the side and both were lacking. A 2.5 stars for it. Staff were nice and the ambiance was cute. The other dishes were a 4-5. We enjoyed the rest of the food and drink. That said, they have potential to improve and we will be back to support! read more

I need to venture out into the city more because this is a gem I have been missing out on! Ever since coming back from Thailand, I've been on the hunt for an authentic place to eat. I was so excited to have come across this quaint little restaurant! First off, "Hey Siri, what song is this?" was used incredibly often, which was a great sign. The music just added to the ambiance of this cafe-like restaurant. Next, the staff was amazingly friendly! The owner was from Thailand and was so sweet. I had a great time reminiscing with her on my trip (even if it had been 2 years ago). The food and hospitality of everyone out there was memorable and her kindness brought me back. Lastly, and certainly not least, the food! We ordered a good chunk of the menu, and when I say the flavors were not lacking, I mean they were NOT LACKING! Our rotation - egg rolls, tom kha, Phnom Penh noodle soup, pumpkin curry (AN ABSOLUTE CROWD FAVORITE), and pad see ew. The favorite here was hands down the pumpkin curry. The dish was incredibly flavorful and brought me right back to Thailand. The spice levels were perfect and had just the right amount of heat. All the other dishes were just as amazing and were great in their own right. Tom kha and pad see ew are my personal favorites so to find something so similar in taste and flavor to Thailand was such a hit for me. Seeing as how these recipes arent easily duplicatable, I know I will be coming back again very soon! read more

Rounding up. I was really excited to try this spot but unfortunately the flavors of the noodles I ordered were a big disappointment. I ordered one of the Cambodian noodle dishes, Mee Ka Tang, and it just had no flavor whatsoever. The savory broth was jelly-like and unappealing. The pad kee mao was better, but still didn't have the level of flavor we see at other Thai restaurants in the city. The Thai iced tea was EXCELLENT, creamy and rich and wonderful. It seems that the beverages are really where Megan's Table excels. The ambiance is absolutely gorgeous and I could sit at the bar sipping one of their espresso or tea drinks for hours. I'd come back and give some of the other entrees a shot but I'd probably stick with the drinks. read more

Noticed Purtea has changed hands and is now Megan's Table. I believe they are in the soft opening phase and the menu consists of Thai and Cambodian dishes. For once a new Thai restaurant in San Francisco that is not serving Asian fusion brunch and desserts is a first, but they can potentially serve these items, as there's no one serving brunch on Ocean Ave yet. The market for boba on Ocean Ave is also oversaturated, so a full-service restaurant is a good addition to the neighborhood. The menu also had items like Pad Thai, Pad See Ew and Papaya Salad. I settled with ordering the Pad Thai and Beef Skewers. The portions could be a little bigger for the price charged, felt like a snack versus a meal. The direct competition is Champa Garden down the street on Faxon Ave, which offers bigger portions and more extensive menu. The restaurant was quiet and I was the only person dining in upon arrival, until more people came in, so the service was attentive. It does appear to be family run, but they could improve on interactions by getting to know the customers, like simply introducing the menu and their specialties would be an easy conversation starter. It appears the mother and daughter is running the front and the husband and son running the back. The interior hasn't changed from Mealtime Cafe or Purtea. Overall a good addition to the neighborhood, especially if they are able to fully utilize the kitchen and the service is friendly. read more

Love their Larb - it's tangy and spicy and refreshing, Thai fried rice has a lot of "wok hei" - rice is dry and not damp (where champa gardens uses fresh wet rice and it's just off). The Leng soup is delicious - herbaceous, sour and the pork is so tender falling off the bones. Very excited to have this in the neighborhood. read more

Many different options available and they are very attentive to refilling water or answering any questions about the dishes and beverages they serve. For those not familiar with Cambodian food, you are in luck, they have a mix of Cambodian and Thai food. Absolutely everything that my husband and I shared was delicious. Cozy spot, warm inviting atmosphere, and excellent service (I felt like I was in a high-end restaurant in that regard). The two people working there couldn't have been more kind, helpful, and pleasant. Thankfully, it is just down the street from us. I had been wanting to go in for a few weeks after they opened because it smelled so good as I would pass by on my way home. I am thrilled we finally made it there. I tried this new Thai restaurant and I really loved the decor, food and service. The decor was simple clean and festive, with great lighting that reminded me of restaurants I have visited in Thailand. I ordered the Cambodian Beef Skewer and the Loc Lac (beef). I loved the flavor of the Cambodian Beef Skewer is was amazing, cooked perfectly and tender, I could not get enough of it. The Loc Lac was delicious too. Very cute new thai place I came across. Lights are very cute inside. Workers are really friendly. We ordered the leng soup which is a pork bone soup with cilantro and Thai chili in it.
