I came here for the first time on a Saturday night with a friend who raves about this place. She was only in town for a short time and wanted to make sure we came here and I got to try it. And it definitely didn't disappoint. The place was packed with almost every table taken. The only open tables waiting for reservations. Luckily when we asked for a table, a couple finishes and leaves so the host tells us just a moment so they can clean that for us. They did so quickly and got us sat right away. We decided to share and ordered the mango prawns and fried avocado dippers as appetizers. Than we split the volcanic beef for our entree and get some coconut rice on the side Mango Prawns: 5/5 so flavorful and the flaky crispy coating was so addictive Avocado Dippers 4.5/5 very satisfying just wish the avocados themselves were seasoned but still delicious and the sauce brought a lot of flavor Volcanic Beef 4.5/5 the beef itself was cooked great and the sauce was really the star of the dish. It was served with onion rings on top that were pretty cold. If they were served hot this dish would've been a 5 but that brought it down a bit. This dish doesn't come with rice but we got some coconut rice to soak up the sauce and it was absolutely the right move We had plans to go out after this so we didn't want too heavy of a meal. But we wanted to indulge as well and enjoy the flavors which we did. The staff was kind and attentive. The restaurant itself is kept clean and the staff was having a good time singing happy birthday for the big table next to us. Overall everyone had great attitudes and we really enjoyed the food. My wife and I have been looking for the best Thai restaurant in San Francisco and our search led us to One Waan. It's a small modern looking restaurant located right across the street from BART Glen Park Station. I really liked the Red Curry dish as it had a lot of flavor. My wife has a seafood allergy but was able to order the Drunken Noodles without fish sauce. We also shared some Bok Choy stir fry with garlic. The server was knowledgeable and provided good service. Of the dishes we ordered, the standouts had to be the country chicken and the basil eggplant. The chicken had a little kick and was juicy. While the eggplant had that perfect texture without being too mushy. I would probably skip on the sea bass and the crying tiger. I really wanted to love this place, but overall I thought the food was just okay for the price. Parking was also a bit difficult. There isn't much nearby street parking, so it's probably easiest to park in the surrounding neighborhood and walk over. The restaurant itself is fairly small, and they try to fit a lot of tables into the space, which makes it feel pretty cramped. At times we were almost shoulder-to-shoulder with the table next to us. We started with the fresh spring rolls, which were light and tasty, but I was surprised that the peanut sauce cost extra. It made the experience feel a little nickel-and-dimey from the start. The rolls themselves were fresh though, and the peanut sauce was flavorful. For my entrée, I ordered the yellow curry with coconut rice. The portions were generous, but the chicken texture was too soft for my liking, almost mushy, and the curry leaned saltier than I prefer. The flavors just didn't fully come together for me. My partner ordered the Pad See Ew with tofu and appreciated the large portion size. He enjoyed the dish overall, though he also wished it had more spice. Service was fine and the portions were generous, but considering the pricing, food quality, and tight dining space, I'd probably choose another Thai spot next time. read more

Ordered delivery from One Waan - it came super fast! So this review will just be from the quality of the food and less on the vibe of the restaurant. Very spicy Veggie Pad Kee Mao is a 7/10, the food itself was flavorful and tasty, however the ratio of the flat drunken noodles to the veggies were less... wanted a bit more noodles, but overall, the food was delicious. Then I ordered a very spicy basil eggplant with white rice, which is also a 7/10. The eggplant wasn't cooked all the way through, but the sauce and the veggies were super delicious and packed some heat. The quality of the tofu was just right. Overall, my experience from my delivery is a solid 8/10... food was tasty, came to my house in under 40 minutes, and good amount of food. OH AND ANOTHER THING! Ordering delivery is a bit more expensive, the menu prices through the delivery app is a couple dollars more than sitting down and eating at the restaurant or ordering pick up, so something to keep in mind :) 10/10 would come back again. read more

I discovered this place on my way to pick up a friend at the nearby BART station and I saw the front store while passing by and made a mental note I was going to give a try because I love Thai food. I'm so glad the universe showed me this place because I have now gone three times and each time has been impressively presented and deliciously tasty! While the location is a bit small, it can accommodate several parties, mostly of up to six people comfortably. The place is modernly decorated and comfortable. The service is friendly although a bit difficult to get quick attention when it's full on a Friday evening and there's only two waitstaff for everyone. But that's ok, the food is 110% worth it. I've tried the Pad See Ew with beef, the Tom Kha Soup with chicken, the Bacon Wrapped Scallops, the Crab Rangoons, the Shrimp appetizer, the Thai Fried Rice with shrimp, the Tom Yum Fried Rice, the Pumpkin Curry, and the Basil Eggplant with chicken and absolutely none have disappointed. I literally crave this place. The way they present the dishes makes you almost not want to touch its beauty but the taste is amazing so you can't help it. Strolling into the sounds of lounge music and a low key gaudy interior I had mixed opinions on whether this was a restaurant for me The angel wings had a good flavour and the meat came off the bones easily. They are quite small though and emphasised by the massive plating job. You may need other appetisers is you're peckish OR if you get the Khao Soi never mind this was a very filling dish, very different to Khao soi I usually have, mixing in udon for a slight Japanese fusion. My mom was visiting from Sacramento so we wanted to treat her to a nice meal, she loves Thai food! She was so impressed by the high quality ingredients, deceivingly large portions, and incredible flavor. She said it was the best Thai she's ever had and I agree! One Waan is the best!!! My partner and I have been coming here since around 2017/2018 when we were living nearby. Now, we live about 25 mins away from the city but still come here for dates. Though we must have looked a hot mess in our exercise gear and frizzy hair, the servers were kind and welcoming. We chose the crunchy calamari. When the plate was presented to us, we ooh'd and aah'd over its artistic presentation before devouring our appetizer. However, the noodles were well cooked. The overall presentation of the dishes were fabulous. The prices are on the steeper side, so I think they try to make up for it in presentation. However, I understand how expensive rent may be in this area. The space itself is small and I was confused why they would try to fit as many tables and chairs in such a small space. I had dinner with a couple of my cousins after work. It was easy to access, walking distance from my cousin's house and street parking for me since I came straight from work and right across the Glen Park Bart station if I decided to take Bart, which I didn't. We started off with hot jasmine tea, coconut milk soup, chicken wings, bacon-wrapped scallops, larb gai (lettuce wraps), grilled salmon, and red curry with chicken. Yes, we don't just eat- we feast! Everything was delicious and satisfying. The Tom kha was perfect, the chicken wings-crispy and tangy with plenty of sauce to put on other things if you wanted, and the larb gai (lettuce wraps) were flavorful and refreshing. We were just starting and we were super thrilled that everything we ordered was yummy. The bacon-wrapped scallops were amazing! The scallops so tender with a nice crispy bacon wrapped around it and the sauce it sat in was heavenly! By the time our entrees arrived, I was already good but I had to take one for the team and try it out. Plus, red curry is one of my favorites, so it was a must. I paired it with the grilled salmon and I must say, the dinner was just beyond perfect. Food: 5/5 I shared the pineapple duck curry and coconut rice with my friend. Presentation was gorgeous and taste was amazing. The curry had so much depth in flavor and the duck was cooked well! Service: 5/5 I think it was the owner of the restaurant who took our orders and he was super friendly and a joy to chat with! I got a strawberry cocktail which came with a huge fresh strawberry. We have quickly become regulars and they are always so welcoming to our two kiddos - we love being able to bring our littles somewhere with such impeccable food! When the food did come, it was really nicely presented. They deserve credit for that. But the tom yum was pretty poor, overly salty like the broth had been boiled down for much too long. The number of prawns was generous but because the soup flavor lacked freshness it all added up to a meh meal out. The decor is nice, and elevates the room from comparable restaurants, but like many restaurants, the steady stream of delivery drivers really detracts from the ambiance. One Waan is a total gem tucked away here in Glen Park that's quickly become our favorite Thai spot in the city. The portions are generous enough that two people can split an entree or bring home leftovers from two, but they're so delicious we wind up clearing our plates most of the time anyway. The plating here is beautiful, too, they really put care into how the food looks on the plate. But the flavors make it. The green curry here has such a strong kaffir lime note which I often miss at lesser places. The One Waan noodles are made with the green curry and might be my favorite ... so far, because eventually I'm going to try everything on the menu. The Thai iced tea is delicious here too, they've got a great drinks menu altogether including some really tasty creative cocktails. And, the people here are always friendly and the food comes out fast. So happy we have it in this neighborhood! read more
