The service here was so good. They consistently refilled waters, took dirty dishes and trash away and were overall very kind. They have a lunch menu 11 am to 3 pm and it was a great deal. We had sushi and a bento box and both were amazing. Also very nice inside.

Warm Wild Mushroom salad !! This was the first time I ordered it - it WON'T be the last !! Wow !! Absolutely a taste invasion !!

It's always such a pleasure to deal with such commensurate professionals. Despite being unable to contact them from noon 'til 5pm for some unknown communications reasons, which I am sure was neither theirs or mine in the making. Most probably cause by the impending cosmic rays of the Aurora borealis. Hehehe ! They realized I'd been attempting to contact them and sent me their email address. Finally after we'd resolved the matter - they proceeded to make the most amazingly delicious meal for me and my date - promptly delivered by a superbly metallic black thermal gear clad young lady - of whom I could only enjoy seeing her lovely eyes beneath the equally amazing motorcycle helmet she wore. The meal - whose photos I've attached was of: Miso Soup Edamame (which they included free due to my difficulty contacting them) Seaweed Salad Warm Wild Mushroom Salad (amazingly delicious !!!) Perfect Couple Roll (my personal favorite !!) Sashimi of Yellowtail, baby Yellowtail and Salmon Roe as well as a California Roll and a Yummy Roll and an additional bowl of miso soup for a friend (who wasn't with us). Dear fellow NYC citizens - if you really enjoy Sushi, Sashimi and Tempura - There IS NO BETTER PLACE - than Suki Ichi-ro !! PS: a dinner of THIS size and quality delivered with chopsticks and soy sauce for under $80 !! For 3 persons !! Unheard of !!! Definitely recommended !!!

My family and I had dinner at Suki Ichiro sushi restaurant. We started with the yellowtail jalapeño appetizer. My hubby ordered the Teriyaki Chicken Dinner Bento, while I had the Blue Crab California Roll and the Rainbow Roll. Our daughter went with the Angry Dragon Roll. Overall the food and service was good.

Note: review of takeout The fish quality is just okay to meh. Timely delivery. I've definitely had better sushi in the area.

Very very solid 4.5 stars. This definitely is a specialty combo sushi place - think suburban, family-focused sushi restaurant, but in the very best way possible. In NYC! Very family friendly; really good prices ($6.75 for a yellowtail roll / $21 for a maki combo of 3 rolls; $16ish for a specialty roll). All of the rolls were good and a really good size. You won't be leaving hungry. The only downside was one of our party said the spicy rolls weren't as flavorful. But I loved my Perfect Couple roll. At the time, they were also doing a free chicken lettuce wrap dish with a purchase of over $50. They also offer a 10% discount on the next visit, which I will be taking advantage of the next time I come! Service was attentive and they checked on us multiple times. They did start getting busy during prime dinner time (6;30pm onward), and seemed like they handled it really well. I would come back again for this - again, as a casual time looking for sushi combos and good overall sushi. I can't speak for the sashimi or nigiri.

Local Japanese joint for some casual sushi/ Japanese cuisine. I got the shrimp tempura bento box. The tempura was nicely breaded and fried and also came with an array of fried vegetables. The California was standard but the rice could've used a bit more seasoning. My fiancé got the sushi and sashimi and said all the fish was fresh. Service was quick.

We came in late night with kids, and what a delightful time we had. We had a few sushi appetizers, miso soup and gyoza dumplings. All delicious. We had a Ramen bowl, chicken teriyaki and Sea Bass for our entrees. The waitress brought us an extra appetizer to try for free which was chicken lettuce wraps. We loved the food and the service too ! We will be back !

We blundered into this small UES Japanese restaurant. The vibe is relaxed. We really enjoyed the jazz being played over the music system. Service was prompt and cordial. Hot sake did the trick on a cold night. The food was very good and quite reasonably priced. I had the sushi deluxe and a seaweed salad. My wife enjoyed her bento box and was unable to finish it. We're putting this place into the rotation for a low key meal.

    Sashimi Lunch Special

Solid sushi spot for the upper east side with great prices. We stopped by for lunch and ordered the sashimi lunch special and the Chirashi. The fish was fresh. Only issue is that these two dishes had the Same fish!! The dish was nearly identical with the addition of tamago eggs in Chirashi bowl. Look at the pictures! So choose wisely. If you like tamago, then get the Chirashi which has rice on the bottom. Otherwise get the sashimi. Overall it was fresh.

Very good sushi that is reasonably priced. I liked the large menu because I can get sushi and my boyfriend can get something he enjoys. The service was very good and quick. The Gyoza dumplings were great and the side salad (Neither pictured). The vegetable sushi entree was great and very fresh. Shrimp teriyaki was delicious too. We are visiting but if I lived in the UES, this would be my sushi spot!

The out of control roll was out of this world, we ended up ordering another one! Service was good and they have an excellent variety of sushi. Was surprised it was so empty in there but was glad our party of 5 could be seated right away on a Saturday.

Spicy tuna crispy rice - just ok
    Melissa P.

We ordered delivery from this restaurant and although the fish tasted fresh, everything seemed to be very bland. We started with the spicy tuna crispy rice and the potion size was very generous for $10. However, it didn't have much flavor and I probably wouldn't get it again. I then got the sushi dinner which came with 9 pieces of sushi and one tuna roll. Again, the fish was fresh but there was not much flavor. Each piece of fish tasted the same. I got spicy Mayo on the side and it more so tasted like just plain Mayo. This is possibly why the spicy tuna with crispy rice didn't have much flavor. We also got individual pieces of wasabi tobiko and scallop sushi and these were probably my favorite items out of the whole meal.

Sushi had way too much rice. The shrimp and crab weren't very flavorful. Service was decently fast and It's a casual place. I wouldn't go there again mainly based on the quality of sushi

The whole experience is a journey lol. You customize your ramen exactly how you want it and then sit in these little individual booths that are meant to let you actually focus on the food. I got the Classic Tonkotsu Ramen with the spicy red sauce and the soft boiled egg. The broth was rich and creamy, the noodles were so good, and mixing the spicy sauce into everything was probably my favorite part. AND GET THE EGG. It comes in the shell and you crack it yourself, which somehow makes the whole thing even more fun, and it was cooked perfectly. My friend couldn't finish her ramen, so naturally I finished hers too That should tell you everything you need to know. Service was super quick and easy. You barely interact with anyone because of how the booths work, but that's part of what makes it so cool. The ramen is $21, which honestly isn't bad for Times Square. Good food, such a cool experience, and definitely somewhere I'd go back to.

Some of the staff has been here for a while, which tells me it is a well managed operation. Quality is still the focus at TONCHIN. Table comfort is still not. I love to bring my children when not crazy crowded so they can also enjoy one of the best ramen restaurants in the world. Maybe I'm exaggerating, but I haven't found better yet. Summer soupless ramen with perfectly chewy noodles and slightly spicy sauce is a great addition. The vegan ban ban kinoko as well as its chicken version are great also during summer. The maguro is delicious but I don't find it as satisfying as the noodles. Mind spiciness level for the younglings. In the winter, the spicy tantan or Tokyo ramen always hit the spot. Fish bun has been improved slightly over the years but thank ramen-sama, it is always as messy to eat as the first time I tried it 7 years ago. Desserts are surprisingly delicious. Typically Japanese ramen restaurants lack in that domain but not here. The Tokyo banana is perfectly crafted: creamy crunchy tasty. The shaved ice are great and super fun to eat. To many more years of happy reviews, and good fortune.

We started with the pork belly appetizer which was recommended and stated on the menu indicating it's their featured dish. It was the biggest disappointment as it was extremely fatty with large chunks of fat, while the lean portions were dry. It didn't look very appetizing. The dumplings were just okay--they had decent flavor but I was hoping for a crispier texture. I ordered the Zebra Ramen. The noodles were cooked perfectly al dente, but the broth was much saltier than I would have preferred. The pat of butter felt unnecessary and made the broth overly rich without adding much depth. The chashu was on the small side and also quite fatty and I assume it's the same as the appetizer but was sliced instead of in large chunks. The marinated egg had good flavor, although the yolk was a little more cooked than I typically like. Another thing is the pork belly appetizer came with an egg. I wish the server would tell us so we didn't have to add it to our ramen with an extra charge. The nori was also completely soggy by the time it reached our table. Overall, the noodles were the only highlight of the meal and the rest were very underwhelming. It's definitely not a place I would recommend.

This spot delivers the kind of authentic paitan that reminds you why people used to line up on cold sidewalks just for a bowl. I ordered the Paitan Ramen Deluxe, and it genuinely lives up to the name. The broth is silky, rich, and comforting without being overly salty which is exactly what a proper paitan should be. The bowl comes loaded: tender shredded chicken, seared chashu, marinated soft-boiled eggs, fresh scallions, bamboo shoots, and a sheet of nori that ties everything together. Every topping tastes intentional, not just filler. The texture balance is what really stands out fatty chashu that melts, shredded chicken with real flavor, and noodles that hold up beautifully in the broth. You can taste the care in the soup base; it has depth, not just heat or salt. If you loved Totto Ramen back in the day, this feels like its modern successor same spirit, new precision.
