This review is for the work that was done on my brakes 6/15/23, and the customer serviced received today (6/7/24) when the issue was brought to their attention. Recently my car was making a screeching sound which we believed to be an issue with the right front control arm. We took my car to a Subaru dealer, where we were informed that our breaks were cracked and had a wavy pattern on the back. The Subaru mechanic asked who had installed them and we let them know it was Meineke Car Center in Temecula, and he informed us that they had been installed incorrectly which had cause the crack and was causing the sound we were hearing. We were disappointed to hear we had wasted money on our brakes and had to get new ones installed due to negligence and poor workmanship. Today, my husband decided to call Meineke to inform them of the issue so they were aware and in the hope that this would not happen to other customers. He had the very unpleasant and unfortunate experience of talking to Tina who proceeded to yell at him, call him a liar and say that he could never prove that they installed them incorrectly. She also said that they would not refund us, when my husband had not even asked for a refund. Tina proceeded to say that we should have taken the car back to them for proof instead of getting them fixed at the dealer and when my husband expressed that he wouldn't drive all the way back to their shop for fear of crashing with faulty brakes Tina stated that she knew for a fact that we couldn't die from faulty/cracked breaks. We did provide a photo of our invoice from Subaru which stated that the brakes had been installed incorrectly and Tina claimed she couldn't see where it read that. (see attached photo).We ended up talking to the owner who didn't provide any resolution and said it was out for their control. I am shocked at the level of unprofessionalism and incompetence. I do not recommend this location unless you want to shell out more money to fix their work. * Note - Owner claimed that they have never had a complaint. Looking at the reviews below, that's clearly a lie. Tina seems to have nasty spats quite often. They also don't honor Costco discounts despite being part of Costco's referral program. read more

Update: Now 7 hours into my service and day 2 of driving out here, my brake change is still not complete. They wanted me to come back for a third day and waste more of my time as if I have more time to sit around and waste here. It's clear they have no idea how to work on my car and fix what needs to be fixed. I will not be coming back and will have to go elsewhere and spend more money to have it fixed properly. I have been going here for years, but since the new owners took over the service has gone downhill. They are very unprofessional and suggest things that don't really need to be fixed. They told me I needed new brakes, including a new rotor, I took it to another mechanic who said the pads didn't even need to be changed. Don't be fooled by the coupon for an oil change and free tire rotation. Three times in a row they had an excuse as to why they couldn't rotate the tires. I brought it to another mechanic and he said they have messed up my tires from not rotating. 25,000 miles without a rotation! They have caused problems on my other cars too. I have had many negative experiences with car shops and car dealers in my years of owning cars. I was recommended Menieke from Costco when I got new tires about 2 years ago. Wow, am I grateful they did recommend me to Meineke! I will never go to another auto shop. Meineke is the best of the best. I have had all my vehicle maintenance done here since 2022 and I have never felt more safe and secure in my vehicle. Tina and Jacob are who I have spoken to the most while getting my car serviced. They are both honest, kind, caring and make me feel very well taken care of. I am grateful for the repair guys (whom I do not know the names of) as well for the excellent work they do. If I could leave ZERO stars I would as they don't even deserve one. I visited to get my brakes done both front and back. I had just been to the dealership the day prior and was told I needed to have them done so I could prevent damage to rotors. I visited Meineke and they said they would need to do their own inspection. Then told me my rotors were warped on front and destroyed on back and drum also damaged so all of it need replaced. I declined this and returned to the dealership immediately after (same day - 5 min after leaving Meineke) who changed my brakes and confirmed that there was in fact NO damage to any of my rotors. I am disgusted that this is how you conduct business. Don't get scammed, go elsewhere. read more

Took my truck here for a brake inspection. The guy behind the counter walks out to my Truck and then comes back and immediately tells me I need new brakes AND rotors. WOW..he must have x-ray eyes as he NEVER took the wheels off to professionally inspect the brakes. He was looking for a sucker but failed. I did not even argue with the imposter mechanic. I just made a bee line for the door. Took the truck to a REAL mechanic who turned the rotors and replaced the pads. DO NOT take your vehicle to this rip off shop. They SUCK!!!! read more

Recently signed up for Lyft driving and this was the only option in the nearby area for a vehicle inspection. I called in the morning and made an appointment at 3:30. I arrived on time. Roughly 45 minutes later, my car has not been taken back for its inspection. I walked around to find the clerk who was working in the front desk as she was in the back I asked a tech if he could call her up to the front. He then came into the office lobby and said he was to relay a message to me. That tech will be taking my car back soon. I asked what does soon sound like for them because it's already been 45 minutes and soon I will need to leave to take my daughter to work. He went back to get her and at that time I seen a tech go get my car when she open the door. I said oh the tech got my car. I think we're good. She proceeded to tell me how busy they were due to Amazon trucks and that they are basically behind because of this. I understood how workload can adjust and put cars behind schedule. I asked perhaps that was something that could be communicated and setting an expectation for the customers. I said I have to be back home across town and I'm running out of time and that something that should've been communicated at the very beginning of arriving for my appointment. The clerk, she began to then tell me that they cannot stop what they're doing if they have a car on the lift inside the shop to get to my car. Which again I understood and that's not what I was voicing my concern with. After that, she proceeded to tell me that in life things cannot be stopped for me, something along those lines. I responded with excuse me I don't need a life lesson. I'm well aware of how mechanical shops can work and if they get behind all the cars. Completely thrown off by her life lesson that she chose to provide to me. I thought was completely unprofessional to take it that way, I wasn't asking for any special request. After that comment she tells me that I need to communicated to her if I was on a time restraint. Mind you I'm arrived at 3:30 for an appointment and my daughter starts work at 5:15 upon arriving at 3:30. I even asked over the phone how long the processwill be. I was informed it's about a 30 minute inspection. Even at that point was another opportunity for her to set the expectation that they might be a slightly behind schedule. There was plenty of opportunities for her to set the expectation to the customer. I had plenty of time so there was no need to provide my personal errands afterwards. But waiting for 45 minutes with no communication or expectation from the clerk in the front is unacceptable and how she chose to respond to my concerns was very unprofessional. I will never come back here again. I'd rather drive the distance to go to another inspection place. read more

I mentioned that I had a coupon I wanted to use and the woman who answered was very straightforward and professional. Took my car day after Christmas for an easy brake change. After the change I drove to Fullerton the same day from Temecula. Next morning tried driving and it sounded horrible metal grinding on metal, had to take it to another mechanic same morning to look at it because my car physically couldn't make it back to the original one, and my settle bolt was completely missing from my left front tire. new mechanics telling me how lucky I am for finding out when I did saying I could've died. Tried calling the original place to see if I could get some type of refund or apology after paying them for a bad job and paying a new mechanic to fix their old job. Was met on the phone with a lady who was just trying to find any reason it wasn't them and then really tried telling me bolts have nothing to do brakes! This review is based solely on my direct experience only and in no way shape or form changing nor alternating the actual event. After work one Saturday I show up to meineke for an oil change. I'm thinking wow lucky me there is not any customers waiting on any services. It was just a couple of mechanics standing by the garage just talking to each other. I walk inside the shop and there was nobody there to greet or assist me for at least three minutes. One of the mechanics comes in to let me know the manager will be right with me. A couple more minutes pass and comes this man which inconsiderably did not apologize for the wait or even care to say hello. So they get started on my car and over 35-40 minutes later they are done. I'm thinking just imagine if it were to be busy how long that would've taken. So after a odd and mediocre transaction I head home. I just purchased this vehicle which is why I did the oil change to start with. Although I am mechanically inclined I generally do all my old changes myself. But it was a spur the moment situation and like I mentioned the shop had no customers. So a month or so passes and and I got to work m on my car. As I go to jack the car up get i noticed something really odd. Surprise to my eyes in shock I notice a corroded rusty oil filter still installed. Along with a severe oil leak all around that area. I'm thinking to myself how can this be I just got an oil change less than 500 miles ago this can't be. So I came to the conclusion that they did not change my oil filter. What bothers me is that they didn't even have the decency to address the situation. They just simply gave he keys back to me and charged me for an oil change. I knew mechanics had a bad reputation but I didn't expect it from mainstream Business like Meineke to provide this type of service with these type of people. I got there on Saturday 15 minutes before they opened so I could be in and out quickly. Someone came in right at opening and had an appointment so I would be next. They only had one person working in the bay and it took him a full hour to do one oil change and tire rotation. An hour and a half after opening they told me the oil change was done but they couldn't rotate the tires because of tire wear. I asked that they do it anyway and I will check the tires. They refused saying my tires would pop easier if they did. So 2 hours after I show up, finally done, and I have to go home and rotate the tires myself. Also, they could have told me up front they only have one person working so it would be a while and I would have gone somewhere else. read more

Been in here a time or two before. Last time I confirmed everything that was included and was told tire rotation was included which was good because its important to me for the longevity of the tires. After everything was done (about 1.25hrs) I find out they didn't do the tires and wouldn't be able to so he says come in some other time to do, no thanks!. THIS TIME I ask again about tire rotation and wait time. Told yes tire rotation was included and wait time (till complete) would be about an hour. I go in and bring up the tire rotation again in person to be sure (she highlighted on the work order that I wanted tire rotation). I wait an hour and girl comes up to tell me we are just waiting on the tire rotation part. At 1 hour and 45 minutes the car come around and "its done". I go in to pay and come to find out the tire rotation was not done again. This time they say that its because "all tires are on wear bars" and they "cant" rotate them due to safety. I assume they are correct, express my displeasure to the amount of time I was there and leave. I drive to the Hobby Lobby parking lot and look on Google to educate myself on "wear bars". Come to find out they totally lied about that and my tires (all of which have 28K on them) are fine and can be rotated without issue. I drive back over there and bring this up and 4 employees go out to look at my tires. After a back and forth and more lies they finally say they will rotate them. I ask for a discount for my aggravation and extra time it will take (seems totally reasonable) and they lie to me again and tell me they already gave me a discount for my aggravation when in actuality it was a discount we spoke about from their website before I even came in to have my work done. So summary of service quality, customer service and timing: Took 2hrs and 10 minutes for a standard oil change and tire rotation. They lied to me 3 times and made the situation get a little heated, they didn't give me a discount when clearly wrong and taking forever, I had to inform the manager (who told me he had been there 6 years) what "wear bars" were as he was looking at the wrong things on the tire. And all this is on an easy oil change, good luck trying to get something more involved done. read more
