So it's been a few years since I've reviewed this repair shop. Paul helped me out on a commercial vehicle getting a radiator replaced, tire repair, alignment, oil change, and new shocks. Dropped the truck off before closing on a Friday and mid day Saturday got a call to pick up. Everything was completed way before I expected. Paul and his team were very polite and the work performed was up to par. I can't review the price as my company service provider sent me here and paid. Terrible customer service, avoid this shop if at all possible. My husband took my car in at 2:45pm on a Sunday with a flat tire for a simple plug. He was turned away. The manager told him they close at 4pm and had "tons" of vehicles to service, that there was no time to help with our tire repair. Funny thing, there not "tons" of cars, maybe 2. He said he wanted his guys to go home at 4pm. I completely get that but there was no way it was going to take that long and there weren't even any customers there waiting. Called and made an appointment for 3pm for an oil change. The telephone operator made a mistake and made the appointment for the time of my call and overbooked the techs' schedule apparently. I got a call when I was parking that they could not serve me. They accommodated anyways since I was there already but they were not pleased. While I felt bad for the situation, the mistake was instead put onto me. Anyways, I tried inquiring about the types of fluids that were used for my car in hopes of learning and those questions were not welcomed. I'm sure it was a mixture of frustration about the appointment mix up, but the resistance to answering was not pleasant. "What kind of radiator fluid was used?" "Radiator fluid". I am aware the fluids for the radiator and oil have identification so I was genuinely surprised at the fact that he was looking at me sideways for inquiring and just not giving me the names. Among other responses that seemed as if he did not think I was capable of receiving the answer, even after I explained I wanted to learn the so I could work on the car myself. I feel I've been taken advantage of at Mountain View tire auto service I went in for an oil change. I had a coupon. For 30.00 dollars off , the clerk gave me the first receipt and took off the $30 then about an hour later he comes back and said I have a nail on my tire so I said yes you can fix it. My second receipt the $30 dollars wasn't honored and I complained and they said that it was only mail in the rebate I feel like I was taking advantage of and they weren't very clear with me. I will never take my car there again as a matter of fact, my family will not be going there anymore. Please be careful and read the paperwork they give you. They're very sneaky and dishonest.. who really knows if I had a nail on my tire.. they also suggested a fuel flush which I don't understand. My car is only a year old. Why would I need a flush? Be very careful if you go there I would help you go somewhere else. I will drive 10 minutes out to go to a place that's more honest. read more

I went to Mountain View Tire today after calling ahead and speaking with Jameson about getting a new tire installed on a brand-new wheel. I was told to bring it in around 3:30 PM so they could mount and balance it. When I arrived, I was told the "tire guy" wasn't around even though I could clearly see, through the small glass window, someone in the shop mounting tires on wheels. When I asked why he couldn't do it, I was told he's leaving. Your hours are until 6PM. This location has really gone downhill ever since Robert left. Brought my car in at 1:00pm to have them check my alignment after I messed up my left side with a cement divider. I got the struts in my Toyota RAV replaced for a fair price by 4:00pm. Dropped off car at 9:30 for oil change. Walked to CVS and Stater, back at 10:30. Sat and waited til 12:30 then finally asked about my car. Was told, "Let me check." Only to be told they hadn't even started because of another car that was having issues. I would have appreciated being told right when I got back at 10:30. Didn't get out of there until 1:30. Gave this place three tries. EVERY single trip I made here turned into "multiple" trips because of unfinished business. This last trip I came for a simple tire pressure replacement. I was called saying my car was done but they couldn't reprogram the system. Upon arrival they also destroyed my rim cause they mounted it backwards with their tool. Mind you that wasn't even mentioned by anyone from their team. I had to call them over to say what the heck happen after I got my keys and paid. Slime ball move. Have been taking our vehicles to the location on Benton for past 3 years, since we've moved here. 3 cars receive synthetic oil changes and tire rotation every 5k miles. Last 3 services I was skeptical they were rotating my tires, despite work order noting tire rotation had been completed. Took one car in for oil change and tire rotation yesterday; by end of day, they called and said they could not finish and they would complete service next day. I picked up car with the agreement that I would return it for service the next day. Took our car in today as agreed. At first they said, "sorry...you don't have an appointment." It took them some time but they finally found my work order. When I went to pickup my vehicle and pay for the service, I double checked the work order. Tire rotation was confirmed on the work order. This time, I marked the front rim with a sticker so I could confirm they rotated my tires. When I checked, sticker was still on the front rim. I called Mountain View Tire and Auto Service to complain. The person that picked up the phone put me on hold while he checked with the technician regarding my tire rotation. When he came back to the phone, he said, "Tech confirms he rotated your tires." I told the person on the phone that I had marked the wheel with a sticker, and that it was evident that the tech did not rotate my tires. He said, "Well you can bring it back in and watch the technician rotate the tires." I said, "I've been in twice already this weekend and I don't have all the time in the world to bring it in a third time and watch someone complete the service that you said was already completed." He said, "Well then...what do you want me to do?" Honestly, how do you answer a question like that? They clearly lied, they clearly didn't complete the service that the tech claims to have completed. This probably wasn't the first time. No effort what so ever was made to to right the wrong, except to offer that I bring it in a third time to inconveniently watch to make sure they complete a service that there work order said they completed. Will never take any of my cars to Mountain View Tires and Auto Service again. Will never purchase tires again from them as well. They clearly lie about the service they perform. I called this morning approx. around 8 and asked if I could drop my car off for an oil change and tire or check. Paul answered and said yes. The mileage was higher than I knew and when brought to Paul's attention he doubled check the information and realized it was off. Took my car in because there was a humming sound coming from the front wheel. I spoke with Sam at the counter. He was friendly and assured me that they would be able to find out what was causing the noise. After a short while he was able to identify the problem and he told me that they could fix it. I agreed to let them do it and while I was waiting, he showed me that my back tires were really low on tread. Sam walked me over and showed me the tires and the tread were in fact low. He said they were having a sale on tires and I ended up getting them. All the work was done rather quickly and I will definitely be back the next time my car needs any work done. read more

Shoutout to Roy My hubby went there today for fix his tire coz he ran into a nail and for differential fluid change. They fixed the tire and Roy told him that he doesnt want to do the differential fluid change coz its still ok and should do if we reached 60k miles already which we havent. He said he doesnt want to just do it and take the money. I find him very honest , helpful and knowledgeable. He just charged us $40 for the tire fix. Thank you Roy for saving us a $140. I have been using Mountain View Tire in Winchester, Ca. to service my vehicles for over 10 years, but I will never use them again. In August 2024 I brought my car in to get a tire pressure sensor replaced. I was called and told my car was ready. I started my car, and the low tire pressure sensor light was still on. The manager, Robert, had to tell a worker to fill my car tires again with the correct air pressure. How are you fixing something, but as soon as I start the vehicle the low-pressure light is still on. I gave them the benefit of doubt and took my car there again in December 2024 due to the check engine light coming on and another tire pressure sensor needing to be replaced. I explained to them the car would also shake when idling. The shop diagnosed the problem and stated the variable timing cyclinode needed to be replaced. I was quoted approximately $850 for the repairs. I informed the shop that I had an after-market warranty on the vehicle. The shop manager, Sam, told me that they do not do after market warranties. I told Sam I have been coming into the shop for over 10 years and they had honored it before. Sam was adamant that they would not honor the warranty. Later in the day I was called and informed my car was ready. Before I went into the shop, I called the company that services my warranty. I placed the call on speaker and went into the shop. I told Sam I had my warranty company on the phone to make it easier for him to use the warranty for the cost of the repairs. Sam still did not want to use the warranty service because he stated they were busy and low on staff. The warranty company heard this and informed Sam that he is also busy and low on staff, but still provides good customer service. Sam hesitantly agreed to use the company to cover the cost. After the warranty company asked what was repaired, the cost came down to approximately $453 instead of the $850 I was quoted. When I was driving my vehicle back home, approximately 2.5 miles, the car was still idling rough, and the check engine light came back on. I turned around and brought the vehicle back to the shop. I told Sam the car is still experiencing the same problem I brought it in for and the check engine light came back on. Due to the next day being New Years Day, the shop was closed, and I had to leave the vehicle there for an extra day. On Thursday, 1/2/25, I was called and told the vehicle was fixed. I asked, "Are you sure it is fixed correctly this time?" I was informed it was fixed. I arrived at the shop and Sam informed me a technician had driven the vehicle longer this time and everything was fine. I started my car, and the check engine light was still on, and the vehicle was still idling rough. I went back into the shop and told Sam about the issues. Sam spoke with a technician and told me it may be a timing belt issue and I should take the car to the dealership to be repaired. I would advise anyone not to use this shop services. My warranty company had to remind the shop about having good customer service. I was lied to several times by the staff at the shop and wasted my time by having to bring my car back several times and still had to take my car to another shop to get repaired correctly. I would have paid $850, and the problem would not even been repaired correctly. There is no way you could have correctly repaired my vehicle because as soon as you turn it on the check engine light was on and the car is basically shaking when idling. Like I previously mentioned, I used this shop for over 10 years, but this last year the service was horrible. I would not even feel comfortable with driving my vehicle and being safe on the road after any repairs are done here. I don't know what happened but this shop has lack of experience and honesty and horrible customer service. read more

First off, I was quoted a price, and then they said I needed to come in to leave a deposit for the tires needed to be ordered and would be here in the morning. I arrived to leave a deposit, and they wanted all paid in full work and tires. I was tired. So I didn't argue this. Boy do I Wish I had My husband said no way, yet I was tired and just wanted it done, so I paid in full. I said I wanted the two front tires, which were my worst replaced. I showed up to pick up my car only to find they replaced my two best tires, not the ones the ones that needed replacement . On the back. Now I'm waiting to see what they did with my good tires. As they struggle to get my front tires off. I've bought many a set of tires here, no problem. I'm not sure what's happened to this place, but we won't be back read more

Mountain View Tire and Auto Service on Benton has lost my faith and trust. That's too bad since the business is close to my residence. Their brake job on my rear brakes lasted less than 20K miles. That job included new rotors and "Paltinum" (their spelling) brake pads. The brake pads were of such low quality they tore into the rotors requiring their replacement. They did not lube anything either. I'm actually of the belief that they don't do the work they claim to have done, and their prices are not competitive. Something recently has gone wrong there, I strongly encourage others to pay attention to the 1 star reviews. read more

I brought my WRX here back in June 2023 to get my new rims put in. Fast forward January 2024, I bring my car back to a different shop to have coilovers installed. Come to find out, the guy who installed my rims at Mountain View did not use a torque wrench and only used the air gun to tighten the nuts on my wheels. The nuts were tightened to over 230 ft/lbs. These only require about 75-85 ft/lbs. The wheel lock was broken because the nut was so tight and the shop ended up shaving off 3 of their tools to try and even remove it. Not sure what kind of people are getting hired here, but clearly they need to be taught on how to use a torque wrench. This is unsat and I clearly need to send Mountain View an invoice of the 3 hours of labor I had to pay for just to remove these nuts on the wheels. read more

We took our Jeep Grand Cherokee 2018 to Mountain View Tire to get some tires because 2 of the tires were starting to wear and they were conveniently located for us. We told them we wanted them to do an exact match the 2 tires that we planned on keeping when we dropped it off. They ran some numbers told us the cost for the 2 tires were about $850, which seems on the high side, but we did it because we figured those tires were on-off road type tires. When we went to pick up the care the tires were on-road tires and did not match the back tires. We were not happy, but they told us those tires were good tires and would work fine. As we drove down the road we noticed that the car had a weird feeling like the tires were not balanced, which they claim they did. So we went back the following day and they said the tires were way out of balance and fixed it. As we drove the car it felt better, but it still felt like they were not properly balanced. A week later it felt like they had never balanced the tires. And a day later the car started jerking into gear at start. It almost felt like the engine block was loose so we set up an appointment at Jeep the following day. That jerking turned into a grinding slippage on the power train like the gears were not engaging. At the Jeep Dealer they took it for a test drive and when they got out they looked at the tires and said that the tires are mismatched. They said on a 4 wheel vehicle with computers if the balance is off because the tires are a different size that the computer will think that you are off roading and try to adapt the pressure going to each wheel. They asked where we got the 2 new tires from and said don't go their again because they should have known and told you that you need to change all 4 of them, which they did not do. We went to America's Tire in Temecula down by the Winchester, CA Mall and they felt territory and confirmed what Jeep said. They gave us a great deal and replaced all 4 tires, including the 2 newer ones for $900. They measured the tread on the 2 new ones and said because they were not balanced those tires went down to a measure of 7 of 10 and the off balance made it so those needed to be replaced too. For those reasons I highly recommend finding another auto shop. read more

I called to get a quote and planned to go here for having my headlights being installed since I had a nice experience with the mechanics customer service a few weeks prior but the sales rep I dealt with the other day totally changed that. They wanted to charge me $190 solely for 2 headlight installations saying that it was going to take a whole hour to install each headlight (so a total of 2 hours they wanted to charge) when I know it doesn't take that long since they removed one of them a few weeks ago in less than 5 mins. I also already have the headlights that I purchased so they weren't charging me for parts either. Definitely trying to take advantage of people at this location and there's no way I would ever recommend this place to any friends or family, especially if you're a woman! There's much more trustworthy shops out there! read more
