Wife and I were in Schertz recently and decided to revisit this little gem - last time we went was in 2017. Food was delicious, staff still as friendly and overall a wonderful lunch. I got the Carne Guisada and my wife ordered an enchilada plate with a crispy taco. Loved it and huge portions hypo. Highly recommended!

So I asked for a bowl of Caldo, which they said they had on the menu and the waitress confirmed that they did have it then she came back from the kitchen and said they did not have it but they had tortilla soup and I said does it have a lot of vegetables because I'm in the mood for vegetables. She said oh yes, I said, does it have a lot of carrots and squash and she confirmed that as well, so when I got my bowl of tortilla soup, it had not one single vegetable in it but a half a potato and two skins off of a zucchini and the chicken inside the bowl were little squares meat that I couldn't even chew they were insanely tough. If I could give no stars, If I could give no stars to this restaurant. I tried it, and I won't be going back.

Stopped in for some breakfast tacos with some friends. Melanie's is an unassuming little restaurant in Universal City. Ambiance inside: informal, quaint, working class restaurant Food: very generous and tasty breakfast tacos. Tried a machacado taco and an asada and egg taco. The machacado was incredible. The asada and egg was good. Very generous portions. Salsas were just OK. Service: somewhat lackadaisical service Value: excellent Overall cleanliness: below average (tables were not thoroughly cleaned between customers) Bathroom cleanliness: below average Exterior reminds me of a tire shop with office Parking: tight parking lot. If you drive a sports car or a car you really love and the paved lot is full, consider parking across the street.

First time here. We throughly enjoyed our choices. He chose the waffle plate, with a bowl of oatmeal. Mine is pictured, all was delicious. Pozole was taken home for dinner. Will be back to taste more.

Best Mexican in the area in my opinion. Especially breakfast tacos!! Good prices and good service. Consistently good food.

My child really loved the mac and cheese. The white dip is still delicious. Our server was cool until she got busy. When we arrived we were seated quickly and the staff was very nice. It wasn't very crowded and therefore it was a bit quiet. The chips and salsa were amazing! The salsa had the perfect amount of spice. The fajitas came out and I was like "now these are fajitas". It was super excited and couldn't wait to dig in. They tasted really good and the corn tortillas were so much better than that other location. I have to admit that I am still on the hunt for amazing fajitas, however these are definitely better than my last ones and I look forward to returning and trying out other menu items. The only downfall was the blinds. Yeah, I get it and they are just blinds, however they were just so dirty and it distracted from the whole experience. Cleanliness is important.
