I have been going here for years. Service has always been good. The waitresses have always been attentive and courteous. The food however, has gotten to where it's not edible. The beans are so watery you cannot pick them up with a fork. They just slide through the tines. The egg whites are so undercooked, when you cut them it looks like milk coming out (not the yolk). If I could give a zero I would . Walked in not acknowledge by lady up front . Had an attitude the whole start of me asking I had an order pre order never said how can I help you . Ask to speak to a manger after she kept having an attitude of explaining to me why I was being charge for one taco almost 6 dollars . As they say - find the hole in walls and you'll find good food! Atmosphere is very chill and they keep it very clean . First time here- greeted immediately and grab a seat.... Saw the tea was included on lunch specials so got that and really good. Lunch specials have about 7-8 choices , I went with the Chile Relleno and glad I did . I come here when I'm on this side of town. In my opinion, they have the best carne gusada in town. They give up you a red and green salsa when you sit down. Both of them are very flavorful. The tortillas are a little thick and fluffy, and they taste like butter. I'm a picky person when it comes to food, but their enchiladas with the chili con carne are some of the best I've had. I'm not a fan of refried beans, but they had great seasoning, and you can taste the bacon in them. The service has always been good, too. This is probably my favorite Mexican restaurant when I crave authentic Mexican food. It's really a hidden gem located next to subway in a little corner in the Windcrest area. What I love about this place is that they always have homemade corn and flour tortillas! Their staff is super friendly and efficient.
