I normally love this place UNTIL TODAY!! I wanted comfort food. Ordered enchiladas Ask for a side of raw white onion and they piled grilled onion all over my enchiladas. So the other nice waitress remade my food without me asking, and it came out gross. And plus the guys working on the door and there's flies everywhere and it's hot. So unhappy. Waitress hasn't refilled my water. So I went to check out they took care of my meal so I wanted to edit my post a little bit and she told me that the girl that took my order was new. I work in a restaurant too. We all have bad days. I will come back to this place just because of them taking care of my meal. they could just sense that I wasn't happy. read more

The chorizo egg and cheese..... soooooo bland, and top it off with an HEB tasting tortilla. I felt like i was eating just sustenance, zero flavor. They would be wise to spice it up , use a different chorizo brand if they buy it and not make it, and change the recipe if they make it. I can show you how to make a good tortilla for a fee. So I came to this place this morning, thinking that I would love some tacos in this place, especially after reading the reviews based on solely the reviews I thought why not well to my consideration I was completely devastated whenever I realize that the tacos are small very little portion in the amount of that they put inside the tacos. Not to mention the slow service I went through the drive-through thinking that it would be faster. I saw people parking going inside, ordering talking busy with the cashier and then getting food and leaving as I just stood in the window and watched at least three or four people grab their food and go so going through the drive-through made it excruciatingly Slow not to mention when asking the cashier if there was an issue with my order or why it was taking so long she simply said this is just how long it takes to order tacos. I then asked her about the people that went inside and why they got their order before me but they just parked And she said that she's only one cashier. She can't handle everything. However, there were other servers other people working in the kitchen, so I felt as though not only was she lying to me, but she made me realize that the priority was definitely not me in anyway. Not that I feel like people in the drive-through should be prioritized over people to go inside, however simply waiting on two potato a tacos made me think That it was definitely not worth being late by 30 minutes because I stayed in that drive-through for over 20 minutes after the cashier gave my tacos. She did not suggest any hot sauce, paper towels or anything else. She just handed me the tacos and then close the window on me. I felt like the customer service was way below par, and that I think that this place is not only gave me a feeling as though they don't care about their customers, but if the food can't even match what they show in the pictures and I feel like this is definitely not a place I would ever want to recommend. I think the ambience alone makes you realize that there's nothing great about this place unless you can't find anything else around. I would not recommend this place. read more

We've been going to this Mexican restaurant for over Eighteen years and their food is amazing. I especially love their beef enchiladas. Recently, I was really craving a homemade hamburger and I wasn't going to give in to the corporate food fare typically found on the northeast side. I was about to give up and I remembered seeing hamburgers on Taco Vallarta's menu. That day I tried a bacon cheeseburger and fries. I believe they're the best burgers in town. I would never have chose to go to Taco Vallarta if not for my boss. This is a place he regularly frequents and when he was craving a taco is the place he sent me to. He wanted a beef taco on a corn tortilla with onions, cilantro and avocado. The waitress really helped me as there wasn't a "beef" taco on the menu. She was really patient as she tried to figure out was this gringa wanted. I ended up getting two of the same taco. I loved the big slices of avocado they put on the tacos. And the meat was diced small, no pulling out big meat slices as you try to eat your taco. And the fresh tortilla was filled to the brim with meat. I believe the onions and cilantro are standard and the avocado extra. There might have been a touch too much onion, I left some in the foil when it fell out of each taco. The meat was also a touch grisly. It may have been the cut they used or it was the way they cut it. But the small dice really helped make it a non-problem. I'd totally go here again when I'm feeling like tacos. Maybe dine in this time and taste their chips and salsa. Sometimes going outside your comfort zone pays off big time. So this morning I had to drop off my car for a windshield fix n decided to try this place for tacos. I have stopped here twice for chalupas just bcuz I was hungry so I figured trying the tacos was the next step. This morning I went with a chorizo n potato a bean n cheese a potato egg n a single cheese enchilada. The enchilada was delicious, just enough cheese n sauce; the tortilla was fresh so was the sauce n I would definitely get a plate of these bad boys so that was a great start. The tacos themselves had good "weight" but were small for the price, the first taco I tried was chorizo n potato I'm a sucker for a good chorizo potato taco, this one didn't disappoint, had equal amount of both n wasn't too greasy but just enough to "stain" my tortilla. Potato's were cut a good size n didn't taste like they were from the night b4 which is always good. 2 hot sauces, red was a bit too hot for me so I went for the green, good heat n not overpowering. The bean n cheese well the beans were awsum but my tort was a bit burned which was a turnoff, potato egg well that one had good weight n well was a potato egg taco. Overall, the tacos were passable but not my favorite, I did enjoy the enchilada n the chalupas from here r pretty tasty so it's not bad n better than bill millers expensive small tacos. U should try this place if ur in the area read more

They are unapologetically slow, I don't know if it's the language barrier or these people just don't care that you've waited 30 minutes for 7 tacos that are costing you $30.00... It was mid-day, say 4pm, no cars in the customer parking area and only 2 cars in the employee parking area, so I do not understand the hold up... But the food is excellent - one of my favorite Jalisco places in the city; the service is fantastic and fast - they remember you and are eager to accommodate, always friendly, even when they're busy; they are generous with chips and salsa; and I rarely see any other whites in the establishment - which always the mark of a top-notch place. This place is legit. I know someone else said this; but it's true. I love their food. I usually get a Chorizo and Egg Taco with avocado and they will add onion. It's a fiesta in my mouth, my friends. I tried the Cactus Salad (Napolitos!) with a cheese enchilada on the side. I couldn't decide what I wanted; they have quite an extensive menu. Ah-ma-zing. The ladies who have helped me are super friendly. The only thing to worry about is waiting for your order. Sometimes, it takes a looong time to pull up in the drive thru. On a whim because I was tired of tacos from Bill Miller's I decided to see what they had to offer and picked up some tacos for my son in the drive thru. He loves barbacoa tacos and they serve them every day, so I ordered him a couple with guacamole. When I got home and unwrapped them I was caught by complete surprise to see that they weren't greasy at ALL. Typically barbacoa tacos, if not drained well, get the tortillas greasy/oily. The tacos were drained so well I was extremely impressed and decided to give them a try for one of our Sunday breakfast spots. A couple weeks later we stopped in on a Sunday, and I ordered the enchiladas verdes with boracho beans instead of refried and my entire plate was great, especially the beans. My boyfriend ordered several tacos w/o the tortillas as he is on a low carb diet, they graciously accommodated him and the servings were extremely generous, more so than what would probably fit inside a tortilla. The servers were extremely friendly, we noticed a lot of regulars must've stopped by as they seemed to know everyone that walked in. It's not very large inside since it was originally a Jack in the Box restaurant which closed down. A large family came in and the girls immediately sprung into action to move tables around as to accommodate them without disrupting other guests. The food is great, service was great and I've been back several times via the drive-thru. I highly recommend this place, simple but everything was spot on! read more

I really like this place. Fresh corn tortillas. The beans tasted like old school greatness. Had the #7 Carne Asada came with rice,beans and sautéed onions and cactus which was freaking awesome. Just plain simple The way I like it. The fajita skirt steak was thin and well seasoned. Smelled great and tasted great. Fresh lettuce and tomatoes and the avocado was on spot. I have came to this location a few times because it's on my way to work and very convenient because it does have a drive through. I have had their breakfast tacos and the al pastor taco and they are really good. I am a big fan of the tortillas. They are very fresh. The staff is really friendly as well. Yesterday, I was disappointed that I waited 10 minutes in the drive thru for one taco al pastor and the car in front of me also only had one taco or burrito handed to them, however I didn't know if maybe they were busy in the restaurant. I would recommend for sure. I am going to try one of their lunch plates next. They look very tasty. read more
