I love this place for the size of pizza you pay for! They have a baseline menu of different types of pizzas, but you can adjust them to your liking. They of other foods as well, like their chicken wings. We tried the mild buffalo and it was just that and a side of awesomeness to go with it! The service was awesome from beginning to end. We had a family next to us with some out of control children, but the staff handled the kids very well with distracting them with crayons and paper. I would return every week! So, here's the thing. I travel a lot for business and call a lot of companies to deliver to my room. But, this is the first time I've ever been charge five dollars for tapwater. On the website it says bottled water and they gave me tapwater in a paper cup. And I ordered a sausage calzone but they sent me a meat lovers calzone. Needless to say I will never order from this place again. I recommend everyone staying far away from them. Such a disappointment that Midlothian finally gets another big name restaurant and it flops. We've been twice, both times some of the worst service we've had in the area. The decor is funky as always but somehow feels cheap. You can't read the signs outside. Even worse they sat us in those TERRIBLE throne chairs. The pizza crust is great, it's the only saving grace, but everything else is a bust. The salad was just a salad. The toppings were just toppings. The execution was good. We went in for an early lunch and were seated right away. The atmosphere here is fun and funky like their other locations but as always it has its own unique flair. My husband and I had a half order of pretzels and a Veggie pizza. Both were served hot and quickly and we enjoyed the flavor of the pizza very much. The pretzels are just their crust twisted into a pretzel shape and sprinkled with cheese. They were good just wanted to warn you in case you were expecting actual pretzels. Fresh tasting ingredients. Had a half Great White and Half Veg Out on oil and garlic crust. I liked the Great White the best. If I had it to do over again, I'd skip the tomatoes because they were hot and stringy and so was the spinach. Slow service but had a nice waitress. $38 for one large pizza, 2 bottle waters and a sweet tea. (Including tip). Overall, it seems a bit expensive for what you get but it was decent. I was beyond excited that they were putting a Mellow Mushroom on the Southside and eagerly anticipated its opening. Finally got to check it out for lunch this past week. The parking situation is tight during the lunch rush but we didn't wait for a table so that was a nice surprise. The decor is cool and funky. It has a magical forest vibe going. There a ton of different seating options for both small and large groups. They had some different pizza flavors from other stores but are willing to make your favorite if they have the ingredients. We enjoyed our pizza immensely! I really love the crust to topping ratio. Our server was quick and friendly. She let us down at the end of our meal though making us wait for our check long after we had finished eating. This is the worst time to make customers wait as they and ready to go and really notice the time passing. I look forward to returning in the future! read more

Went there this past Saturday (6-1-19) It was crowded but the staff was very cool. When I received the text that the table was ready, I was actually seated in the "feature table" . Yes, it just opened. Yes, it took a while to get the food. But our server Chynna told us we were in for a wait, and then dazzled us with her attentiveness! She was super busy, but stopped by often to make sure we were ok. She checked on things we hadn't received and gave us updates. All the food was phenomenal and she made sure our picky, complicated order was delivered with perfection and a smile. If you've ever worked in a restaurant, you know it takes a while to iron out some of the wrinkles when a location first opens. Came on 12/29 seated quickly. And that's where it went south just as quickly. Waitress said there are problems with the pizza oven so wait was 30-45 for a pizza. Ordered apps tomato Caprese and my friend he ordered a salad. I heard him her what he wanted. What came out was a salad with avocado chicken and something else. Sent it back after he reviewed again what he wanted. 2 min later another salad arrived barely any mixed greens and missing several things he ordered. Rather than him remain starving he ate it. As we waited we noticed others who arrived 15-20 later than us had gotten their pizzas. Really annoyed. Our pizzas arrived 5 minutes later now going on 1 hour we were disappointed. Mellow mushroom is always a solid - "meh." Most locations I've been to (which are not many) are usually always dirty. This location was the same. This rating is purely based on a take out experience on a Friday with an order placed at 6:00. When I placed the order I was told it would be ready by 7:15. I decided to go up early just in case it was early. When I arrived I was greeted with a line of four people waiting to check on their pick up order. What I found strange was that the line never moved....it appeared they would ask about their order they were told a few minutes and they would just stand their versus asking the next person in line what their order was. After 15 minutes it was finally my turn. At this point it was 7:00. The nice lady checked my order only to come back and say it wasn't ready and that it would be another 45 minutes...hopefully. Clearly there is an opportunity with the kitchen. All that being said, I canceled the order and asked for a refund. Big recommendation here. Only visit when you know it will be empty. read more

This was my first time here. The decor is nice and original. Our service was good, it took a few minutes for our waiter to show. He was very good and knew the menu very well. Our pizza was delicious and my sons burger was cooked to order. They have a great selection of beer also. Came here for lunch on a Tuesday, 1 pm. Place was still hopping but we were seated fairly quickly. I was warned that if I ordered a whole pie instead of something from the lunch menu, the wait would be minimum 30 min. I still ordered a made to order pizza from the regular menu and it did take 30 min. but not longer. Still, management came out to apologize for the wait time. I think they are quite attentive to the fact that they got hammered with negative reviews here and elsewhere about the wait time and other hiccups but they seem to be working it out as time goes, which is expected with most new hot spot restaurants. Therefore, I am willing to give them a benefit of doubt and come back when the crowd dies down. The pizza and other foods were delicious. Prices are tad high but not exorbitant. read more

My son ordered a small pizza with vegan cheese (so it can be dairy free) with Bbq chicken, mushroom trio and pepperoni, my husband, daughter and I split a large 1/2 mighty meaty and 1/2 shiitake mushroom pie, both pizzas are really good. The waitress was very attentive and kept my iced tea filled. Would have given this place 5 stars except the food came way too slowly. It was close to an hour for us to get the pizza, and kids almost had a meltdown for being so hungry. The restaurant does not accept reservations but does allow you to add to wait list via yelp app so pretty convenient. read more
