This is the 2nd time I visited this location and the pizza was delicious. It was better the 2nd day. It was busy and they were still quick.

I LOVE THIS PLACE. Well I'm a pizza fiend BUT the atmosphere is adult & kid friendly. There is a bar that after a certain hour only allows adults. But I'm telling you that you must try this place. Service was awesome & food was great. They don't only serve pizza, the have burgers & wings but no French fries. You can build your own pizza or chose one from the menu. The pizza sizes come in small (4 slices), medium (6 slices) and large (8 slices). If you build your own, some toppings cost more than others. There is a happy hour on drinks from 4pm-7pm. Poor service. I walked in on a Friday at 9:09pm for the Celtics/Heat finals game. The place is packed. I walked up to the bar, the female bartender says "we're closed". I look around at the full house and reply "what do you mean it's closed, there's almost a full house here. I just want to sit at the bar and watch the finals. Not ordering from the kitchen, just a couple beers". She was adamant the establishment is closed. The finals game was on at least 4 tv's...but I guess I was intruding on their business. I guess they don't want business from an out of town Hispanic. I observed predominantly white customers in the restaurant. The bar had at least 6 people at it. Unbelievable. read more

GF pizza crust is thin and not the worst I've had, but not the best. If you're eat GF, you know the crust I'm talking about. Toppings and flavors were good! Non GF pizza was good. Service was fine. I have been to other locations and like the pizza however this location left something to be desired. The pizza took entirely too long to come out and when it did the server placed the hot pan on the table hitting my son in the arm burning him. When I said something to the manager he was condescending, didn't apologize and offered us burn cream jokingly. When given the check I was surprised there was no compensation for this. I stated as much and the waitress. Began arguing with me and told me the girl who brought it over to me and burned my son was young and didn't know any better. Seriously that's the answer? Still no apology. I told them that was an unacceptable answer for burning my son and frankly I didn't care that the staff was "young and new". We decided to try this place out while visiting Myrtle Beach for a few days with the family. To be honest, I have been meaning to stop by the Mellow Mushroom in Charlotte for quite some time but have never gotten around to it, so when we saw this one located across from Broadway at the Beach we decided not to put it off any longer. The place is fairly open with a regular seating area to the left and a bar area to the right, and a fairly large outdoor seating area. The kitchen area is clearly visible from nearly any seat in the restaurant, and the walls are all lined with TVs. Very laid back and comfortable environment. The service was so-so; our server was friendly, and fairly knowledgeable about the beer selection. Unfortunately, he seemed to be missing in action much of the time. Our glasses sat empty for long periods of time, and when he did go to get us another beer he was gone seemingly forever, at one point we thought that maybe his shift had ended and we had been forgotten... The food was pretty good, better than most chain pizza restaurants. We got the house special and were very happy with it. The beer menu is pretty good, about the best in Myrtle Beach from what I have heard. There are about 35-40 taps, and most are fairly solid offerings, we both had the New South IPA and were not disappointed. The bottle list is comprised of about 50-60 fairly solid craft offerings, nothing too wild, but not totally boring either. Overall, it was a good place to go for a beer and a pizza. Awful!!!! First we went to order takeout online, and as I pressed the payment button it said it could not validate my basket. Then I tried to do it on someone else's phone, and when I went to checkout on that phone, all of a sudden they were not taking online orders. Ok, so we called in the order, which took 20 mins itself to do. Upon pickup, we were told a party of 40 came in before we placed our order so we needed to wait an additional 15 minutes from when they said it should be ready. When the food got home, 2 pizzas were wrong. A gluten free pizza that was custom turned out to be a regular pizza! Another gluten free pizza that was their stone brick pizza "veg out" came with vegan cheese. No where online does it say veg out comes with vegan cheese, it states mozzarella otherwise I would have specifically asked for real cheese instead of fake. I had to scrape off the fake cheese, essentially eating just crust. When we called to ask for a refund, the girl who answered could not "find" our order and told us we were calling the wrong location. It wasn't until we specified that we placed the order with Tristan did she magically know what was going on, and put him on the phone. He did refund us for the pizzas, but it is extremely concerning that a place that gets such "high" reviews for being allergy friendly is so careless when it comes to those allergy orders. My husband and I stopped here for a quick lunch after a day on the beach. The vibe in here is very cool (maybe out dated retro) but still fun. The selection of unique pizzas and other entree options were creative and different. It was hard to pick just 2 pizzas but we ended up doing 'The Great White' and a meat lovers type pizza with a funky name. Our waitress was Bree and she was excellent. She was on top of refills/friendly and patient (we brought a 3 year old). The food came out fast and I thought it was REALLY good, especially for pizza down south. On a February weekday in Myrtle Beach it is good to see a restaurant that is open until 9pm. (Side note: Broadway at the Beach - the "destination" place - restaurants are closed by 8:45 and some earlier? That's absurd!) I was most impressed that both the hostess and the server were nothing but polite, especially since I arrived about 5 minutes before closing time. I ordered the meatball hoagie. It was brought to the table in a timely manner. Loved the melted cheese on top. Delicious and ample sized hoagie. Lots of variety. It's crowded but you can be seated. It's close to the pelican ball field so it's a good place to eat before a game. The pizza is good. Seems to have a large following. If you can't digest certain varieties then you can customize your pizza flower. I guess it's kind of "trendy". I've had much better pizza to my taste but most people will find a variety they enjoy. This location is great just like all the rest we go to in North Carolina. Staff was quick, on top of what we need and food was delicious. They were able to make one of our favorite pizzas that was not listed on their menu but is a classic known still by the kitchen staff. We get the Maui Wowie with balsamic glaze added on top. I love the mellow mushroom. Its a pizza, subs, stromboli kind of place but has a wonderful bar area with amazing craft beer, a good wine list , and all the cocktails you want. First visit to a mellow mushroom, which I did not know was a chain restaurant. This was a very pleasant experience. Food was great. Had a half of a Greek salad which turned out to be enormous and half of a jerk chicken hoagie. Did not really taste like jerk chicken but it wasn't bad. We were visiting Mellow Mushroom in North Myrtle Beach today ar 3:00 in the afternoon. The service we received was inexcusable! We asked to sit outside, our waitress brought water then didn't come back for a while. We placed our drink orders and she never came back. We gave up and went inside. I had to get someone's attention as all the emoyees were standing around charting. Once seated inside a new waitress took our order, drinks and food. She also did not come back. I had to get up and find her and ask for our drinks again. She said they're was nothing she could do about it and I said we would have to leave. 45 minutes at Mellow Mushroom and all we got was water! How ridiculous! And not a single person apologized or seemed to car. There was hardly anyone else in there at that time so there really is NO excuse! read more
