Coming from NYC, I've been pizza spoiled but Mellow Mushroom isn't half bad. They're pizza is slightly overpriced in my opinion but taste wise, they could do worse. DO NOT COME HERE well at least not until they get rid of LEE. He is very very rude. I have come here for years but one bad apple and he is a really bad apple can ruin it. If he is the manager that says how his people are. He is a poor excuse for a manager of that is what he is. Nice location, friendly staff, and good food. This location is an easy on/off from the freeway if you're stopping in for take-away, and is also in a nice location to stop in eat if you have time. It can get crowded and loud, but they have a lot of seats and rarely have a waiting queue. read more

Sorry I grew up with NY style pizza and even worked in a pizza shop for two years. So I'm used to thin crisp pizza, this is neither. The dough is dense and not a lot of flavor. We ordered one of the specials that focused on mushrooms and it was way overpriced and lacking in flavor. For a pizza prices close to 28.00 it was worth maybe half of that. It was a busy place when we were there and seemed pretty consistent with what they served, but just not a crispy tasty pizza. I probably won't be back. read more

The Pizza is phenomenal. I am all about the Funky Q Chicken and the Buffalo Chicken pizzas. It's strange to be here because in VA, Mellow Mushroom is part of the college scene. This one is a more cut-and-dry, well-maintained, family-friendly version. I didn't think it was worth $12, but honestly the small is actually pretty big for a personal pizza. Walked in to pick up my food and it was fairly busy for a Monday night. About a week ago, I came to Mellow with my wife, daughter and her husband. We ordered a pizza, meatball appetizer and salad. The meal was good, nothing special. However, my Arnold Palmer was made with lemonade mixed with salt instead of sugar. You can't possibly imagine what that would taste like unless you literally would put a teaspoon of salt in your mouth. It ruined my entire meal. I heard from our server that this has happened before since the sugar and salt are stored in similar containers and are next to each other. How idiotic would you be to not label the containers after this happened once. I called the manager to give him the opportunity to make this right and he even remembered the incident since he went and tasted the lemonade after my experience. I didn't ask but thought he would know enough about customer service to at least tell me to come back to make it right. For the $15 it may have cost them for a free pie, I hope at least a few folks would read this post and eat elsewhere. Lastly, where we sat, next to the windows facing the parking lot, the wood on the window sill was completely destroyed from termite damage. The restaurant had an obvious termite infestation. It was pretty gross to sit at a table next to an area that had termites. Yuck! There's a reason that this establishment has only 3 1/2 stars. read more

The pizza is here pretty dense with thick crust and a really good flavor all around. The Large was HUGE and very filling. The only downside was the price. I think our large pizza was about $24; but given the amount of people it can feed, I guess it was a pretty good value. read more

We were a party of two, and we had to wait for an hour and a half we couldn't even sit at the bar because it was full. At least they offered me a glass of water if nothing else. And there's no place to wait inside so we had to wait outside in the 110 degree Heat. Other than that the food was delicious. The service was verylacking in eye contact, which really bothers me. I know it's a tendency to have the female flirt with the male and have the male server flirt with the female, but I'm bisexual so I didn't get any flirting. Not like that's the criteria but I just thought I'd mention there are bisexuals out there so try to have a little equality people.
