There are reasons for the 3 stars... and it is not the food.. OK.... Went there to meet my brother and wife for a pizza and some brews! It was a nice night so we sat out on the patio... we were enjoying ourselves and relaxing.. there were a few families with kids and they too were having a good time.. Then a band decided to start playing music... they were good... but in the words of Huey Lewis in Back to the Future.. "Im affraid they were just too darn loud".. tables actually got up and moved inside... some of the tables that were just seated actually got up and left. A few of the tables tried to stand their ground on the patio and just moved farther away.... i told the waitress but nothing happened... the musicans kept playing DMB. We couldn't have a conversation.. so we skipped the second pitcher of beer and dessert.. and left... add that to the tables that just flat out left.. and I say that the band cost MM about $300.00. read more

Went here a few weeks ago with my husband and 1 year old. Little one wasn't being the most cooperative, but our waitress, Asia, wasn't fazed at all. She was super friendly, attentive, and funny. I'm usually a lover of Mellow Mushroom and have been to many different locations. However something seemed awry when I walked in here. The walls were baren of the usual unusual paintings and general hippie atmosphere. Gone were the men with the hemp hats, apparently they had been replaced with staff from the Gap. If you don't have kids or just can't stand the booming high pitched shrieks of children echoing across the large open floorplan then look to other Mellows. While drafting this review I've had at least two children come stomping in front of my booth -- 'nuff said. So, I wrote the original draft of this review while at Mellow. Now after finishing my meal I can add some more fun details. After waiting for over 45 minutes for a small pizza and calzone, note there were only 6 tables occupied, they came out to tell us that the calzone was done but they had made the wrong pizza for me. They then asked if I "wouldn't just eat the one they made" - wow. After another 15+ minutes of waiting they showed back up at the table with the pizza I ordered. A simple cheese pizza with buffalo chicken on top. The pizza was hastily made and barely had any toppings on it, and the cheese calzone - which is usually cheesy and delicious - had more dough then cheese. Custom build pizza came out just as we ordered and it was yummy. Service was great, except when we asked about getting the free 'lil salad offered here if you check in. I found this offer on yelp as we were driving to the restaurant and checked in when we arrived. However, we were told it is no longer being offered although it is clearly on here. Beyond the pizza as well. The service is efficient and courteous. The ambience is classic parlor with a slight 60's grooviness. This is the spot. The menu has a lot to offer and if you have friends that are particular the servers will be more than happy to offer up solutions, recommendations and customized options for everyone. Made an online order for pickup at 6:15 pm around 5. It was a small house special, nothing fancy whatsoever. I got there 10 minutes early or so and called to say I'd arrived, what spot I was in, and I was fine waiting until my designated pickup time. At 6:25 nobody had come out so I tried to call back but I was placed on hold for several minutes and when taken off hold almost immediately hung up on. I had to go inside to ask about the status of my order and apparently it had been lost. Not to mention all of the employees were shoving around the counter with no regard for all of the other customers in line. 10 minutes later when I FINALLY received my order I didn't even have a receipt, and I'm thinking this was probably deliberate so I wouldn't have the option to leave a poor customer feedback surgery response. My family and I have been coming to this location since it opened, and this is just sad. read more

I've dined at this Mellow Mushroom probably around 8-10 times. The service is very friendly but not always quick. It is not just a quick bite to eat, but that's part of the experience! Sit back, relax, and enjoy good company and some psychedelic scenery. There's usually a good amount of people there but I've never waited too long. This is my favorite pizza restaurant in the area. The food is phenomenal, the staff is extremely friendly, and the manager is very attentive. Ashlee is a great bartender and Haley is a wonderful server. I've been coming to this location for a very long time and always have had a pleasant experience. It was a slow Sunday night when the craving for a white Mellow Mushroom pizza hit. We were starving by the time we got there and were happy to be one of three tables in the place. We ordered an appetizer of garlic cheese bread that we thought would take the edge off as well as a pitcher of margarita and our pizza order. The margaritas came our pretty quick (unfortunately they were super sour and there wasn't much taste of alcohol in them, we couldn't finish our last glass they were so tart) and then we waited...and waited...and waited...for our appetizer. They finally came out about the time we were ready to cancel the order, knowing that our pizza wouldn't be far behind. We were right, about five minutes after we received our app our pizza was placed on our table. The pizza was not surprising in it's goodness, but would would have appreciated a bit more promptness in our appetizer. Next time we will make sure we aren't so hungry and we won't mind the wait! read more

Love the Mellow! I caved on my gluten free streak and had 2 slices of my daughters regular cheese pizza - couldn't help it. They do have very good gluten free pizza as well - I've had that on prior outings. The steak n cheese sub is awesome - perhaps a little more steak is needed but overall a darn good sub for our Philadelphia brethren. Always good service from the Mellowians. Very good beer and wine selection. Plenty of sports on the TVs. And it doesn't smell like dirty mold water like another restaurant nearby that starts with Taco and ends with Mac. Oh, and the kids love the pretzels too. I look at those gluten magic heaven rolls from afar...maybe the next visit I will break my gluten streak on them. read more

Don't ask for anything that deviates from the menu. Even though other Mellow Mushroom locations have been more than willing to do something as simple as leave toppings off a few slices of pizza this location will not. The patio reeked of cigarette smoke and the mosquitos were awful. We spoke directly with the manager and he said the reason was cross contamination. They can manage to do 1/2 and 1/2 but not 1/3 and 2/3. Seems like more of a geometry problem than a cross contamination issue. read more

What a disappointing take out order!!! My calzone was paper thin and my Greek salad had balsamic vinaigrette!?!?! When I called after getting home with this order I was told that their menu changed and this is now the standard dressing for a Greek salad. I was not offered any kind of apology by the young girl. My wife and I frequent this Mellow Mushroom fairly often. As far as pizza places in the area go in my opinion Mellow Mushroom is the best. I am very particular to the philosophers pie and my wife really enjoys the Greek salad. we really haven't had a bad pizza here. Beer and drink selection is more extensive than you would think for a pizza joint. We have never had bad service and the wait staff is very friendly and proficient. Lastly while we have had to wait a few minutes once or twice we generally can get in without any wait at all. read more

Said it would be about 45 min. Arrived and they said it would be another 15 -20 min. Waited for 25 still not ready. Asked again and they said it would be another 10 min. Waited 20 and still no pizza.Asked again they said another 10 -15 min. Manager said they had stopped taking online orders because they were taking an hour. Guess she didn't realize I had already waited over 1 1/2 hours - for ONE pizza and a salad. !! Cancelled the order. Will not be back and certainly will not bring the family there. I've always liked all the Mellow Mushroom Pizza places around Atlanta and this is solidly good. They have good seating and a small, friendly bar area, plus a number of outdoor tables. Always good - and good for carry-out too. Turns out there are a lot of pizza places nearby these days and this is tucked behind the Chevron gas station, so not as visible, but well worth visiting. read more

Mellow Mushroom is one of my favorite pizza places. The pizza is simply fantastic. I haven't been to this location in a while, and apparently they were overwhelmed by a very large party before we got there tonight. It had a significant effect on the service at the beginning of our visit. It was difficult to get a drink while we were waiting. We were served food before we were given plates. We were given plates before we were given napkins and silverware. It was a little chaotic. But then I started eating the pizza, and I didn't care so much about the other stuff.
