    Very reasonable, great combo plates

It's been a couple years since my last takeout, and I have missed this place! Golden crispy battered cod, with perfectly fried prawns and delicious housemade cocktail and tartar sauces. Food was quick and Hot. Two tables for seating outside so to-go is your best bet. Friendly service, looking forward to trying the scallops and fried artichokes next vist.

Chicken tenders, fish tacos, zucchini and fried pickles

Came by a few times since we were doing errands in the area. Seating is outside with a few tables set up for use. Staff was really friendly and you order at the counter. There's a white board by the door which had some specials not listed on the menu in general. The food came out quick. So far, we've gotten fried pickles, zucchini rings, fish tacos, chicken tenders, fish n chips, and fried green beans. Everything tasted good and was cooked well throughout. My standouts were the zucchini rings and the green beans. The green beans were easier to eat, fully cooked through, and breading tasted great. The zucchini rings were also cooked through nicely. They're also quite hot at the beginning temp wise so I had to wait a bit.

Very small spot with only a few tables outside and it's very popular so take out is a good option. We ordered on the phone and food was ready in 10 minutes. We ordered a fish and chips combo and fish tacos. The pieces of fish are large and nice crisp exterior. The fish taco had a nicely seasoned slaw to go with it. Overall a nice spot for a quick dinner.

    Thick soggy batter!

The worst fish and chips ever. Over cooked fish dry and dark batter Soggy crinkle cut chips. What a waste of good money. NEVER retur

Great food, fast service and reasonable prices. Check them out on fb Sonoma foodies or ig for specials for an even better deal! Call ahead or walk in for take out or eat out front. Homemade sauces and coleslaw...everything else is fried and it's all delicious. Clam chowder on Fridays. The fish and seafood are great. I suggest to Try a fish taco or a battered Cajun dog. #shutupandeat

Combo 1 fish, 2 prawns, 2 scallops and crispy fries.

I like this place. Anytime I'm in Santa Rosa around a meal time I try to get the Mel's. Nice people working there and the food is delicious. I have always found the fish fresh with a thin batter cooked perfectly. I had a combo with 1 fish, 2 prawns and 2 scallops with fries. My son had 2 fish tacos. The fish was right out of the fryer. The prawns were juicy and plump. Scallops are larger scallops, not the bay scallops. I didn't get a pic of the tacos but he said they were really good. If you are traveling north or south on US 101Mel's is a couple blocks off freeway.

My Oysters and chips and my Jarrett's fruit punch in the other basket coleslaw and cocktail sauce. All were yummy!!

It's been awhile since I've been there it hasn't changed the inside just enough room to order they had 2 tables out there with condiments. I ordered the Oyster and chips they were utterly delicious the oysters were huge of course the breading helped the chips or fries were cooked to perfection nice tan color and had a snap to them plus the coleslaw was separate not like Cape Cod where they put the coleslaw under the fries granted they are separated by the lining. Mel's is very good I'd be back.

Great hole-in-the-wall spot. Staff was super friendly and responsive. Had fish tacos and fish basket and both were cooked fresh and perfectly done.

I never waited in the beverage line for more than a few minutes. Food was ordered at the bar and servers ran it out. Several TVs inside along the wall, a large projector screen on the east wall, and a 65" outside all displayed the game. The sound was good too. I had no difficulty hearing the match over the noise of the crowded venue. Water was supplied next to the bar and was self service. It was constantly kept full. I never saw it empty. When the bar served so much it ran out of glasses they already had plastic cups available. Overall, great spot full of great people. Well done.

My wife and I had just visited Abbey Tavern this past weekend, a premier Scottish pub in the City, and we expected a similar atmosphere. However, the moment we showed up, we were met with great disappointment. The Goose & Fern is honestly a terrible place to watch a sports match: there was only a single TV mounted in the back corner of the restaurant, the TV wasn't particularly large, and the speakers had been turned completely off. What a bust. Although the food was decent, especially the Shepherd's pie -- which came piping hot in a small cast iron skillet, the service was downright dreadful and almost non-existent. We never received waters (or were even asked if we wanted beverages), our table wasn't given enough silverware, we were never checked on during the meal, and we were waiting around for 30 minutes twiddling our thumbs before somebody from our party finally went up to try to pay for the check. In hindsight, a tip was not warranted for the lack of service. Overall, Yelp grossly misled me on The Goose & Fern. This is not a spot I would stop by again to watch a sporting match. If you're in this part of Santa Rosa, do yourself a favor and head over to Dave and Busters down the street where they have a bunch of massive screens, tons of beer options, and service that will far surpass what you're getting here.

I recommend making reservations. There were 4 of us on the patio and without reservations they said 1 hour on a Sunday at about 12:30 pm. We have two medium size dogs that were welcome outside. The outside seating is nice even at 80 degrees. I had the Ruben Pastrami. They make it. I loved the smokey flavor. There was plenty of pastrami. This is a must try! I added mustard which for me was perfect. My husband had the Chicken Kreplach dumplings. They had a soy, maybe miso, butter sauce with breaded fried onions like the ones I put on my green bean casserole which was a perfect complement. My girlfriend had the Veal & Shiitake Pelmeni sour cream & dill. Delicious and filling. I had a sip of the Orange Dream-sickle cocktail. I would like this for dessert. When the food finally arrived, the chicken schnitzel was dry, overcooked, and tasted like it had spent far too long sunbathing under a heat lamp. Once our food was delivered, our waitress performed her most impressive trick of the afternoon: disappearing completely. My water ran out about 10 minutes into battling the Sahara schnitzel and was never refilled--which felt especially cruel considering that entrée required its own hydration plan. To give credit where it's due, the Crimson Revelry cocktail was absolutely delicious, and the fries were very good. Sadly, neither could rescue the rest of the experience. Between the painfully slow service, the vanishing waitress, and the schnitzel that left me both disappointed and dehydrated, I can't see myself ever going back. Grossman's? More like "Gross, man."

Just so that you know, I consider myself to be a club sandwich connoisseur and wanted to confirm of Ozzie's could enter my golden circle of club sandwiches. First - the service. Super friendly people who have no problem with accommodating special requests. For example I asked if they could add a slice of cheese and was asked "Swiss, Cheddar, American"? . That's music to my ears! Second- the ingredients. I love that they feature locally sourced bread products. Mine was prepared with Franco-American sourdough. And it's always fantastic! Third- Unlike a lot of club sandwiches, you don't have to decide between turkey or ham, they include both! And if you aren't a fan of either, they do offer a chicken club option. The final verdict! Five star awesome! The sandwich was perfectly stacked with tons of meat products. And extra credit for the extra large slice of cheddar cheese which covered the entire sandwich. And a huge shoutout to the crinkle fries (included with your order). I'm a huge crinkle fries fan and these were awesome!
